Southeast Library is one of the smaller libraries in the DC Public Library system, but an advantage of that is it gives off more of a family, neighborhood vibe. It's right next to the Eastern Market Metro near Barracks Row and the actual historic Eastern Market. It's in a single building and most of the collection is on the ground level. They have DVDs, music, books and a decent children's section. They have wifi and computers to use if you need them. The bottom floors houses the bathrooms and once a month, they sell bargain books down there.
To whom it may concern, We would like to inform you about “Ferdosi Emrooz” magazine, from 2009 till now every week Ferdosi Emrooz had published and it is going all over America as well as the rest of the world. We are expanding our reach and make the magazine available for more readers and educated people, to achieve that purpose we would like to send a free copy to your library. Please advise us how you would like to proceed this matter. Looking forward to your reply, Sincerely Yours, Niki
Dear Lord! They totally need to renovate this place. It has no accessibility to the bathrooms. Anybody who can't climb stairs will have no access unless they bother the librarians and you never know what mood they might be in.
I visit the library with my grandson he is just 2 1/2 year old and I couldn't find any books or toy for my grandson to play with. I have to leave the library and when to the play ground so he can have fun.
So grateful that PCDL offer a quiet place to read, go to the bathroom, print (up to 20 pages free). This is exactly what I want my city to be known for. A place for all of us.
I wouldn't recommend visiting the area around the time the children get out of school. It tends to be more fights and stealing from local stores during that time.
Very convenient location. Smaller library so go early if you want a good seat and since it is one room it can get loud by the afternoon. Bathrooms are clean.
Very nice place to take the kids to just wish they can do something about the people standing in front of this place asking for money.
It was smaller in terms of space compared to the other DC libraries. When you walk up the stairs, the computers are right there.
How charming is this local library!? Plus, it hooks up to the online Overdrive system so you can borrow ebooks any time.
Crudest Librarians! Someone would call Liberians the United States to teach how to act in a Library!
Great location and staff. I wish they would have a larger selection.
Wonderful neighborhood library. Can't wait to go back!
Second Saturday of every month - $1/$2 book sale!
Great staff, location and hours, book sale, dvds.
Librarian needs a room with rubber walls.
Clearly underfunded
Nice library
