So, this dental practice is THE BEST. I have had unfortunate luck in picking a dentist that accepts my insurance AND has competent staff. I've seen about 5 different dentists in the past few years because I didn't want to stay at a practice I was unhappy with. Not only is the front desk staff AMAZING and on top of correct scheduling , the hygienist is extremely friendly and good at her job. The most important thing is the competency of the dentist. I have bonding on my front tooth and it got a small chip it. Hardly noticable, but it's been bugging me for 2 years now. Previous dentist told me that there was literally nothing he could do because the chip was so small. That seemed absurd to me because, while I didn't go to dental school, I figured there HAD to be some sort of tool to file down a slightly chipped tooth ?!?!!? It turns out, I was right. The doctor fixed my tooth in less than 2 minutes AND didn't charge for it. It shouldn't be so hard to find good dental care and competent doctors, but because it is, save yourself the hassle and just come here. TLDR; this is the best dental practice in San Antonio.

I visited the office recently because my crown broke. This crown was done at this office but by another dentist who no longer works at this office. However, I was contacted by this office to have this procedure redone for a discounted price. The insurance will not cover crowns unless they are 5 years old, surprise surprise. I truly appreciate this gesture and professionalism this office is extending to me. I was referred to this dentist over 10 years ago and even though I have changed employers a couple of times, the staff here is what has made me continue coming back. From Hanah, to the hygienist with the blue eyes to the young lady who's B-day is in June, sorry, I don't think I've ever asked your name. :-) Dr. Guillory, you should be very proud of the staff you have in your office. After going to Southtown Dental for over 30 years, Dr. Guillory has retired. I was scheduled to go in for an appointment tomorrow. Southtown Dental waits until 4:00 pm today, the day before my appointment tomorrow to tell me he has retired. I made my appointment 3 weeks ago. Did they not know at that time he was retired or at least know it was upcoming? That was the time to mention his retirement to me, a loyal, longtime patient! In addition, prices have greatly INCREASED! How about sending out a letter to notify patients of the new dentist and price changes? I canceled my appointment! I will no longer be using or recommend Southtown Dental! SO SAD TO BE TREATED THIS WAY AFTER OVER 30 YEARS!

I love coming to Southtown Dental Group, which is shocking because no one likes going to the dentist. But I do now! Wendy is the most professional and lovely dental hygienist I’ve ever encountered in my life! She communicates all expectations and is patient with my questions. Plus, she’s fun to chit chat with about life. I met Dr. Burger for the first time today, and he was great too! Courteous, patient, and easy to talk to. I felt like the two of them really cared about my health and worked together to develop my plan. I didn’t know dentists could care so much. I also think the facility is just darn cute.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I normally don’t leave reviews but this place needs to be put on blast. I call it a place because since Dr. Guillory retired the new doc’s staff are RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL. Far from the nice respectful clinic it once was when Dr. Guillory was practicing. My husband and I could find a closer dentist but we were loyal to Dr. Guillory and trusted him when he said new doc would be great. Yeah, we’ll no. Love you Dr. Guillory but this place is a far cry from when you were practicing. Office manager stay home if you have no patience for customers.

I called on August 1, 2023 at 435p.m. I was check if they took my insurance and the receptionist was very rude when I asked if they took my insurance and she said I need the information on your card. I told her they did not provide it to me and she said I need it to look up your information. I told her I just called another office and they going everything with my social she then said oh let me see if it works. She came back and said we do take your insurance. I didn’t make an appointment. Lazy people who don’t want to work then think we are dumb when it comes to insurance. So sad.

On a cross-country road trip my tooth cracked and this office took great care of me. The office staff was great about getting me in right away so I could get back on the road, and they even spent extra time on the phone to process my out-of-state dental insurance. The dentist did great work. In under an hour, they x-rayed my tooth and he put in a new filling. I'm now pain free and back on the road. They could have turned me away like the first three offices I called, but in addition to doing good work, they are also compassionate. I'd certainly go back if I lived in San Antonio.

Have been going here for about 10 years or so. Scheduled appointments have always been on time, very short wait. Entire staff is courteous, friendly and professional. They have always explained procedure, options, financing extremely well. Brought my daughter in for some extensive work. They worked out financing and scheduled around her work and school schedule. She was amazed that everyone knew her name and said Hi on her second visit. I like places where you are a person with a name instead of just a patient/client. Thanks again Dr. G!

Dr. Stormy Lopez and the staff are very caring and professional. I placed a call to the office and they were able to fit me in right away. I was in excruciating pain when I arrived and scared to death, however, the staff was very understanding and reassuring that all would be resolved as quickly as possible. My dental experience was beyond my expectations of professional. I have referred my sister and daughter in law who have both been seen by Dr. Lopez and agree that the Southtown Dental Group staff are super.

Scheduled appointment 11:45 am then they said they had openings at 10:45 due to cancellation I said ok. Day of appointment they cancelled altogether I had rescheduled everything to keep appointment when I complained she said next available was one month in advance. I said this will be in my review she did say anything but understood. Please they are not reliable but will want to charge you if you miss appointments.

I had a crown fall out and was able to get in to get it taken care of quickly, easily and with great service. All of the staff are super friendly and helpful and make the whole experience great. It’s close to downtown so close to work which makes setting appointments for regular checkups easy and convenient. Facility is clean and welcoming and comfortable.

Dr Guillory retired and yes I was nervous about seeing a new doctor. My first visit with Dr Hunt was not an appointment but a walk in. He was very professional and took the time to explain my tooth pain. I could tell the office staff work very good as a team, good communication and very attentive to my needs while being friendly & efficient.

This doctor was very rude and condencending. I was in needed of work & will admit it was bad. However, instead of being understand & compasionate, he insulted me and said I was discusting. I got up and left crying. IF YOU DON'T HAVE PERFECT TEETH...FIND SOMEONE ELSE!!!!!

I absolutely love the staff. They are very friendly and sufficient. They will help you any way that they can with dental work, payment plans, and so forth. My daughter and myself are both patients there and I highly recommend this dental office to everyone!

Very affordable, very friendly, knew what to do. I cracked my right lower molar all the way to the jaw and it got infected. Went here on a referral and was not disappointed one bit. Awesome dental care and staff. I just can't say enough good things.

Was a patient for over twenty years....now that Dr Guillary is not longer there, neither am I. This practice is no longer the same...patient care does not have the same priority as before.
