I'll start from scratch for the experience my family had with this Auto repair shop. My daughter had broken down on the side of the Crowfoot. Battery light came on, died about 5-10 minutes later. Being several hours away, I told her she will need to bring her car to a repair shop down there. Sounds like the alternator has failed. Tow truck driver dropped the car off at this shop in Calgary. After the weekend they got to taking a look at the car. Telling her it needed 1300 dollars to put a new alternator and Battery in. I had just replaced the battery within the last year. I gave them a call, talked to Malcolm explaining how I felt the alternator just needs to be replaced and charge the battery. They disagreed and claimed the alternator shorted out the battery, which is unheard of. I priced out the alternator. I was able to pick an alternator up at my cost for 90 dollars. Even at retail through the dealer, price is 132 plus tax. I looked up labour time, labour on this job is 1.3 hours. The price on the job should have been at least half of the given price. Test procedure to check an alternator is no more than 2 minutes. They charged nearly 160 dollars for simple testing. I ended up driving down three hours one way and fixing it in their parking lot for a whooping 90 dollars. I installed a new alternator, jump started her vehicle, allowed the battery to charge off my truck for about an hour. Took the cables off. Drove it, no issues with the battery. I'm not one to give negative reviews. I I just feel they felt they could take advantage of a college student. Its shops like this that give mechanics such a bad rep. I hope you think twice before having them perform any repairs on your vehicle. EDIT: There is no ability to respond, therefore I will respond in my initial review. Discrediting myself as a technician and trying to put some nonsense together about the battery shorting out so other people reading the reviews do not understand your ridiculous take. I clearly proved to you guys the vehicle needed just an alternator. There was no attempt to test or charge the battery. I did tell Malcolm I had full warranty on the battery and did tell him I just wanted the alternator changed. You made a claim on a remanufactured part being cheaper, Chrysler parts come with a 2 year unlimited warranty. Don't see how that is relevant. Same quality with better warranty. I just wonder how many people have been overcharged for your repairs due to lack of a customer's mechanical knowledge. It really doesn't matter how many good reviews you have. All the negative reviews I've read, you put it back on your customer, not acknowledging you can make mistakes.

Had a great experience working with Jordie and Matthew to get my car up and running. Dropped off Monday afternoon, and was fully fixed up just before closing time that same Wednesday. After my car wouldn't start, even after replacing the battery myself, I called in on a Monday to see when I would be able to drop it off to be inspected. Jordie advised me to just drop it off at my earliest convenience and they'd take a look at it when they could, saying they'd get to it sometime that week or the next. I was surprised to get a callback from them the following day, having identified a rear wiper malfunction as draining the battery. Due to the wiper components being seized together, the fix would include a full replacement of the wiper component. They also noticed the hinges holding the rear windshield were corroding and starting to come loose (something I'd noticed but intended to Macgyver with some auto body tape). They said they could order all the parts to fix the two problems, probably save the windshield and get everything fixed by the weekend, quoting me for the parts and labour. I gave the go-ahead to fix the rear wiper and hinges, and to my surprise I got a call back the next day at about 4:30 saying everything was done! Not once did I ask to be prioritized or mention needing the car ASAP, but they were speedy and efficient. The professionalism here is unmatched, especially for someone who isn't a car person. They explained their inspection findings in detail, answered my questions thoroughly, and even kept some souvenirs from the old components to show me the source of the problems. To top it off, this morning (Thursday) I received another call apologizing for charging me for unused parts. We went through the process quickly and my card was refunded almost as soon as our call ended. Will definitely be coming back for any other concerns I have, and I'll probably even start going to them for my scheduled maintenance after having such a positive experience.

I took my car to Southwest Auto for the first time to find out why there is no heat. They said it was fixed and I paid $300. I had heat for two days until it started to blow cold air again so I took the car back to have them check it again. They called me about an hour later to tell me that the head gasket is gone and it would cost me $1700 to fix it. I told them to leave it. I drove it home and parked it. The next day, I was on my way to visit a friend and as I was stuck in traffic the car started to smoke from the engine. I pulled it over and parked it in a parking lot. I called my brother, who just returned from vacation, who happens to be a mechanic to look at it. As soon as he popped the hood open the lid to the radiator fell out. He couldn't believe it. They didn't put the radiator cap back on! My brother checked it over and said there is nothing wrong with the head gasket and all it needed was a new thermostat which was already replaced. Even though I should believe my brother as he's family I didn't know who I should believe so I took the car to another mechanic to get a third opinion. They checked it over and said there is nothing wrong with the head gasket. Can you believe that Southwest Auto tried to rob me of $1700! A single parent! I will NEVER recommend these guys and NEVER return. It's all good. I will share my story by mouth to all. You could have checked the thermostat that was changed but told me that the head gasket was gone but could be fixed for a price of $1700. Two other mechanics looked at it and said the thermostat that was in there was the wrong one. Thought you guys would have checked and picked up on that.

I brought my car in for an insurance inspection because they are right down the road and have glowing reviews. They found a lot of work to be done to pass as well as some other smaller issues. I was a little surprised and definitely could not afford all of this at the moment - which I expressed to the mechanic and said I needed time to think before booking in any work. After five minutes of google searching I found a quote for a windshield that was half the price of what I was quoted. I know it isn’t their job to tell me where I can find work cheaper, but I came in driving a 10+ year old beater of a car and literally told them I couldn’t afford all the work they suggested. It would have built a lot of trust with me had someone mentioned “hey, you can get a windshield way cheaper somewhere else” Then I brought my car to my trusted mechanic to have the brakes done. He said he was pretty disappointed with whomever inspected my car since the brakes/rotors where not nearly in as bad of shape as written in my quote. This was kind of the nail in the coffin for me. I’m not usually one to write reviews, but this one is for all the younger girlies with old cars and small budgets like myself that have a hard time knowing who to trust as a mechanic - be wary of the quotes and always shop around!! I got almost everything done on my car for half of the cost that I was quoted here. All of the team was very lovely and pleasant and I was not at all dissatisfied with the speed of service, but I will be sticking to my usual mechanic.

I'm not sure if you would like my comments about your garage on Google, as this definitely was the worst service I have ever had in 50 years owning a car. I would give you a -5 star rating out of 5. Moving from Ontario, and needing to pass a provincial inspection, I thought this would be the cost of the inspection(wrong), about $3000 later, the biggest ripoff ever for owning a mint conditioned classic car. I had my car inspected before I left Ontario with Dasilva racing, known all over Canada for their work on Mustangs, just had 4 new tires put on and a full check up before shipping the car by rail. Now the ripoff starts at your place, the tint on the windows, not allowed here, meanwhile, in our condo building, their are tints where you can't see the driver inside. The mufflers, have to be removed, meanwhile I am hearing cars every day 10 times louder than mine. Some inspection quoting the front right side cylinder is leaking, meanwhile the guys I have dealt with and inspected my car before leaving, didn't seem to " find this imaginary issue". Wow, rip me off once, never again, my windows have the tint back on, my mufflers are back on, there is no phantom issue on the right side of the front wheel, never has been, as I called Joe Dasilva back home. My rating for this shop would be to close it down, how many poor new citizens coming to Alberta have to go through this. Shame on this shop and whoever owns it. Thanks for letting me know you can't trust Alberta car shops.

Kevin and his team at Southwest Auto Service are incredibly honest and hard working. I brought my car in after two months after purchasing it from Double L. Motors with multiple issues. Kevin informed me right away about an oil leak and worn down tires and flushed my brake lines for me. He also did a full inspection on my car and had it all detailed for me and gave me a discount on my services. After bringing my car in for a check up on the oil leak, he determined the leak was coming from the engine. I was referred to Shaw GMC and Kevin went the extra mile to see if my car was still under warranty, which expired a month prior and did not charge me a cent for determining the leak as he said, "there was no work done to the car". What an honest mechanic, so hard to find! After receiving a new oil pan gasket, and fixing 2 other leaks from the engine at Shaw GMC costing a total of $1600, I thank Kevin and his team for saving me from causing further damage to my engine. The neglected leak that was determined to be an issue prior to buying the car would have gone undetected by Double L. Motors and their "trusted" mechanic, had I not sought a second opinion by Southwest Auto Service. I am so glad I did my research and read reviews on Southwest Auto and decided to bring my car here for servicing. I could not thank Kevin and his team enough for helping me out as much as they did! Please trust them with all your car needs, you will not be disappointed! 5 stars.

I've had nothing but excellent service from Kevin and the team at Southwest. I've since moved further from them, but still trek across town to visit. Their diagnostic service is second to none, they will take the time to explain the issue AND the root cause. I've taken several of my vehicles to them, everything from in great working order to one that I picked up for $800 and needed some work. They have always been very good at showing me the difference between "need to" and "nice to" and answering my questions realistically about what's the most important. One of my favorite memories with them honestly, is the car that never came back. A friend had done me a favor and sold me a car for $800 when I was in a tight spot. Needless to say, it needed a bit of work. Kevin and the team helped me to figure out what was vital to keep it going and what would work but wasn't economical to keep it on the road. I got an extra 18 months out of it, and when it was finally time that it needed more work than it was worth, Kevin arranged for his mechanics to fix it up in their spare time and donate it to someone who needed a car and wasn't able to afford one. Thanks again, Kevin and team for your continued excellence - keep setting the bar high for service and more importantly, living a lifestyle of honesty and integrity.

Took my vehicle into SouthWest Auto as it hadn't had a good maintenance or service in a while. Jordy, Tyler, and the front desk team were very friendly, offered me a service loaner quickly and got me on my way home. Jordy called the next day and said they had found a few issues with my car which he explained very well, broke it down by most important to get done, and then the things that could maybe wait a bit, and gave me quotes for all the work. He said I could just keep the loaner car as they could have the work fully completed the next day. He also told me my battery was very poor, and checked the warranty and it was in warranty from a different store. I took my battery to the original store I got it from and I was only a week away from an expired warranty and they replaced it for free! If it wasn't for the thoroughness of the team, I likely would have been stranded somewhere this winter and needing to purchase a new battery. But instead they caught it early and I was able to get the replacement right away. I'm overall very impressed with the honesty and integrity of the team and will definitely be bringing my car back here on a regular basis. They washed my car AND gave me a coupon for another free wash!! Thank you SouthWest Auto Team for all your help!!

Very disappointing experience! I decided to go to South-West Auto rather than going to the dealership - thinking to myself that the price, quality and experience would be better. I was very wrong. The quote I received for $3,000.00 for breaks+rotors was more expensive than I anticipated. I decided to price check against a few other shops for the same scope of work. Even the dealership pricing was significantly less expensive. Comparable shops were closer to $1,200.00 - $1,300.00 with parts and labour (with a much quicker turnaround). After discussing this with the person at the front desk, he claims that it's because the parts being used were the BEST and were products that they could stand behind. They offered to down-grade the parts following that comment.....and then proceeded to tell me that it would only save me a couple hundred dollars and they'd use rebuilt calipers...seriously? I was just told that the reason the price was expensive because they were using the BEST parts, yet, to downgrade would only save a few hundred dollars? I paid an inspection bill and picked up my truck and of course, they left the fuse box panels on the floor without reinstalling it. I would simply warn others, these guys will price gouge you.

Kevin and his team of mechanics are top notch. If you're looking for an honest and great mechanic who won't gouge you then Kevin and the Southwest Auto team is your answer. I'm a middle aged woman who knows Nada about cars! A few years back, I had what I thought was a transmission failure. After consulting with 4 mechanics around the city (including the dealership whom I bought my car from!) I was very frustrated by what they were saying, mainly because I felt that they were taking advantage of the fact I was a woman and trying to trick me into getting a new transmission, for $5000! I then came across Kevin (because of online reviews!) who then told me it wasn't my transmission at all but that what needed to be replaced was simply a computer chip. Due to his honesty, he saved me $4000 from those other vultures! I've been taking my car to Kevin ever since. I've had a few more smaller issues with my vehicle since it is a 2002, and Kevin has always been straightforward with me. He will also let me know about looming issues so I can save up for the day that the repair definitely needs to be done. Thanks Kevin and the Southwest Auto Team! You're all Great! Excellent, Professional Service and Very Fair Billing I don't take my car, or my kid's cars in for service very often - typically doing the work myself. My daughter's carbureted old Mustang had a troublesome choke issue that I couldn't figure out and the guys there got the car in right away and got to work on it. Noel kept me well informed, but because the issue needed a bunch of cold starts, it took a while to get it properly tuned up and it need to stay for an extra day. My daughter needed a car for the next day so Noel gave her a loaner car - no charge. When the car was done the second day, the bill was for just one hour of labour. I even argued with Noel that I would have thought it should be more, or that I should then pay for the loaner but he refused - saying that was just how they do business. All of the guys there are very courteous and helpful. The shop is just like the old neighborhood service centers and it is much better dealing with them than going to a dealership shop. On my drive home from work I noticed an icon light up on my dash, by the time I got home the interior lights were dim and the car was slowing. It turns out I needed an alternator. I called my dealership - 3 week wait list. I called several shops asking about prices and appointment times. Ouch. Kevin at Southwest Auto Service quoted (and subsequently charged) me the best price I had come across. He also told me to bring the car in immediately, that they were booking appointments a week in advance but that if someone cancels or "no shows" they would slip my car in and do their best to have it done in 1 - 2 days. I was so happy. I gladly dropped it off and proceeded to crawl my way home in rush hour traffic...before I even got home ( 2.5 hours later) I got a call from Kevin saying that my car was already done! And if need be, they would take payment over the phone and lock the key in my car if I needed it that night! On top of an amazing customer experience I now have a fantastic garage I know I can trust for anything in the future. Thank you so much!

I had a dead battery and went to the shop to have a new one installed. Jordy was able to fit me in promptly and when I asked for a suggestion for a tow truck he gave a great recommendation. While it was there I asked if they wouldn't mind changing the oil and doing a general inspection of things. I had bought my Rav4 used and it had been about a year and a half since there had been any issues. Unfortunately, issues were found and I needed put some repairs into it. Jordy was very kind and walked me through the areas that they had found. I asked him to prioritise them so that I might get the major ones addressed and finish the rest in the New Year. The work was done in 2 days and when I came to pick up my car they had fixed a couple little things at no cost which blew me away. Additionally, Jordy offered me a roadside assistance kit which was an awesome bonus. I cannot recommend this shop enough, my experience was great, and Jordy was fantastic!

Lately I have had very poor luck when choosing where to take my vehicle, I was honestly beginning to lose faith in the idea of an honest mechanic who would work on my vehicle without trying to squeeze more money out of me every chance they got! So, let my positive experience at Southwest Auto Service Calgary reconfirm the idea that there are good people out there who are capable and professional about auto maintenance! Had my fuel filter replaced and fuel pump pressure checked just today, service was: friendly, fast, straight to the point and informative in regards to what they found and what it means for me and my vehicle. My favourite part? The mechanic only worked on and did work we had agreed to - I wasn't charged for surprises or secret fees! I started using this shop in 2020 and the service has always been excellent. I do not hesitate to take my vehicle here for regular service, or incidental repairs. I can only compare their rate for an oil change against quick service lube shops. Their price for an oil change is higher than a lube shop, but the quality of service earns the price increase. I will not take my car back to a minit lube etc. anymore, the service is that good. It's not unusual for the shop to call back having found an extra couple problems other than what I brought my vehicle in for. This is to be expected since I don't do full maintenance inspections on my own car. With that said, the issues that are found/reported are real. I verified a couple of them myself to be sure. That is to say, they're not scamming; they're just thorough. Overall, excellent service and appropriate prices make this place great.

This place is a gem! I have been bringing my vehicle to Southwest for about 6 years and have always had an amazing experience. They are always busy but they manage to squeeze me in fairly quickly. Kevin and his team are quick to diagnose, offer fair pricing and I always leave feeling good about the process. They are honest - it really feels like they care about the customer experience and enjoy what they do. Last year I brought my vehicle in after it had sat for 6 months and ended up with a dead battery. Kevin had noticed that I had bought it to Southwest a few years prior for a battery. He took it upon himself to look up the warranty and procedure and he got me a replacement battery for free! How can it get better than that? He cares and he looks out for his customers. I will always recommend his business and always bring all of my vehicles to him. Thanks Kevin!

I really wanted to trust this company. After bringing my vehicle in for an oil change, I was informed that it needed immediate work done to the brakes, that it was unsafe to drive off the lot and ought to be towed if I wanted to take it elsewhere. One man told me he wouldn't let his wife get in the vehicle in its condition and that I ought to be very careful driving it the few blocks back to my house. I did drive it off the lot - to three other mechanics for opinions. All three mechanics and co. confirmed that my vehicle is in excellent condition, with no brake leaks or safety concerns. My vehicle has since been switched from SK insurance to AB insurance with no quarrels. I am still in shock that these folks would insight so much fear in me in order to make money. I do NOT recommend this company...

Customer service second to none. Quality workmanship, and great advice, all at a fair price. Explanations of how and why work needs, (or doesn't need) to be done. I am confident my vehicle will be serviced right the first time, every time. Little to no staff turnover makes me confident Kevin treats his employees and customers with dignity and respect. This shop is changing the bad image of mechanics and garages one customer at a time. Trust and integrity are key components to any relationship, and an amazing quality in a local shop. As if they weren't busy enough providing outstanding work, these big hearted guys give so much back to the community that feeds them, including sponsoring 4 underprivileged children in Nicaragua. I will end up being a lifelong customer.

These guys are professional scam artists, misleading and deceptive. You bring your car to fix an issue, they go through their mandatory diagnosis and find a bunch of other problems. They scare you telling you it is not safe to leave with your car if you don't fix those issues. They quote you well above market price for the repairs and they justify their high quote by telling you that they use high end parts. There is no such thing as high end parts. All garage use the same type of parts and all these parts are warranty by the manufacturer and consumer law. I should have had read the one star reviews before going there. They all report the same type of misleading and deceptive conduct. I brought my car in somewhere else and the work was done for half the price!

My experience with these guys was great for a few reasons. My check engine light was flashing, truck was sputtering and chugging, and they got me in almost immediately for diagnostic. He clearly explained pricing and what I should expect before I left the shop. They called each step along the way to explain what was found, asked permission before doing more work, and quoted me for labor/parts along the way. The final quote I was given matched the amount that I paid for, and it was very reasonably priced for the job that was done. There were no surprise fees or last minute additions. Friendly, helpful, fantastic service. Thank you Jordy, Kevin, and everyone else there for their help. I will definitely return!

I brought my car in to have the brakes repaired, and they quoted me 3500, and included other things that were needed like a "coolant flush" that when you google is generally accepted as an unneeded extra cost. I then called around, found a quote for 1600, and let them know. they told me that quote was bad, that I would be given "low quality parts" from the other place. Then a few min later they mysteriously were able to offer to knock 800$ off the price - but wouldn't itemize how. While they were very friendly, my sense was that they will try to charge you the max that they can, and if there was something costing more than 1000$ I would bring my car elsewhere or at least call around.

I just dropped my car off this morning. I have been taking my vehicle here for years. Kevin is fantastic, and so are all of his crew! Kevin always remembers your history (both car history and personal details too). Their knowledge is undeniable. There has never been a question I asked and did not receive an exemplary answer. Communication is constant. I'll get a phone call when assessments are completed to discuss options for any problems, and also when my vehicle is ready. The estimates have always been bang on, and entirely fair priced. I've never had anything but excellent service. I can not state how highly I recommend SW Auto. Take your cars here, you won't be disappointed!

Kudos to SouthWest Auto. The guys at the front desk are great but I also want to recognize the guys we never interact with -- the mechanics ! They do a thorough inspection and provide lots of notes. Having used (and now discontinued using) the dealership this service is above and beyond. My vehicle was returned exactly as I left it -- after the oil change the oil life showed 100% (dealership 'forgot' to do the reset...), the seat is in the right position, my Sirius pre-sets are still there !, the station I left the radio on is still set . and not changed... yes, the dealership managed to screw those things up twice !! No apprehensions dropping of my vehicle here.

It has been a rough winter and our two vehicles needed some serious help. We are very thankful to Kevin and his team who came to our rescue!!! Kevin accepted both cars even though we only planned an appointment for one cars oil change. We now only trust and bring all our vehicles to Southwest Auto due to professionalism and fair prices. Kevin is super nice and a very honest person who always takes the time to answer our questions and does a great job explaining any repairs that need to be done. He quotes prices after inspection and we are never caught by surprise. Thank you for servicing our vehicles for the past few years. We wouldn't be on the road without you.

I stumbled upon Southwest Auto Service recently, and boy, am I glad I did. I've had nothing but excellent service from Kevin and the team. I recently got an after-market car starter installed, which has been causing a range of issues, including an often dead battery. They provided quick, polite and efficient service. They also didn't charge me for the second battery installation! Kevin was even willing to contact the car starter installers directly to describe the issues his team was noticing during the diagnostic tests. I am so appreciative of their service (and support) during my car difficulties. I will definitely recommend to others.

I just have had a great experience at this shop! I am from out of town and the guy I have used for years has closed his shop. I drive a high mileage older Toyota that has been a great vehicle for me. I took it in for a routine timing belt change as well as a couple other issues. There were other issues found that also needed attention. I was kept in the loop as things came up. Felt I was not being pressured at all...just being kept abreast of what was going on. Definitely ended up spending more than I planned on but know that I was treated fairly. Should be good now for another 2-300,000 km. Thanks Kev, Jordy and staff.

Edited-Added a star. It was brought to my attention that they did in fact get me in last minute and did according to them wave the labour. The cost of the items fixed was still quite high everything considered and they fixed both washer nozzles when only one was broken. This is a piece smaller than my fingernail and was quite pricy. The gentleman I dealt with was super friendly and helpful. Unfortunately I realized when I got home that I had paid for double the service I asked for. Partly my fault for not checking but it left a bad taste in my mouth. Probably won’t be back especially since I’ve moved. Found it overpriced.

MISLEADING, DECEPTIVE and extremely DISHONEST! Read all the bad reviews before going there and stay away from this place! I was asked by the owner (KEVIN) if I would take my previous review down if he reimbursed my diagnosis costs. I agreed to it, but only after the payment was given back to me. I understood quickly that it was never his intentions to refund me, but just to have me take the review down. I have never came across someone that dishonest and his conduct is reflected throughout the poor reviews on google. Save yourself time, money and hassle. The most dishonest and misleading business I have ever encountered.

Let me start with a positive - the crew here are very friendly. However, I had my vehicle towed in after breaking down on an out of town trip. They quoted me over $6,000 in repairs and when I asked for a paper quote breaking down all of the various charges, they sent me a very short email giving almost no detail about what they were suggesting be repaired on my vehicle and what makes up the (very) substantial $6,000 cost. This caused me to lose all trust in them and tow my vehicle to a different shop who would be transparent about the repairs that they suggest and what costs go into those repairs. I would not recommend.

We sent my mother in laws car to Southwest Auto Service to get it roadworthy after 4 years in the garage. We live in Vancouver and wanted to fly in and drive back. I found them through online reviews, which were great. When I talked to Kevin on the phone he made me feel confident that I had chosen the right place. They fit the car in at a busy time and had it ready on schedule and on budget. We were able to drive home in total confidence with no trouble at all. The car passed BC inspection with flying colours. I think Southwest Auto Service is a reliable shop who will give you good advice and excellent, honest service.

Great experience at this garage when I brought my car in for a check-up. I had all my breaks replaced a few months back at a dealership and the guys at SW Auto saved them. They had been installed correctly at the dealership but not serviced at all so they would have worn out pretty quick! SW Auto was able to preserve my new breaks and likely saved me money in the long run. Jordy and the guys were so kind and really transparent when it came to cost. They walked me through everything they were doing. I encourage you to visit this garage if you want a stress-free, no-nonsense experience.

Thankyou Jason for answering my electrical questions. I had a sudden electrical problem and even though the shop was currently booked up and busy with seasonal services, Jason had me bring my car in anyways and squeezed it into the schedule. I consider SW AUTO one of the most efficient, caring,and courteous businesses in Calgary. Work ethics are outstanding and I always learn something new about my car. I have been bringing in my car regularly for 7 years because they are honest, thorough , polite and professional and have proven to be trusted , knowledgeable and highly skilled.

I am located out of province and recently found a vehicle in Calgary that I was interested in. I put a lot of trust into the glowing online reviews and decided to book it for an inspection at Southwest Auto without having even seeing the car myself. Although the shop was extremely busy, Kevin managed to fit me in and provide me with an honest, unbiased opinion of the car. I trusted his opinion enough to purchase the car without even seeing it, and I have no regrets! After the shop fixed a few things on the car, I drove 1200km home with no problems whatsoever. Highly recommended.

These guys are amazing! I took my car in knowing that I likely had an oil leak as well as needing a window fixed as it would not roll up. They let me know everything that was needed and what repairs would need to be done in the future. They did the work quickly and were honest. Other shops (including the dealership) were willing to pull up my window without fixing the problem; they were the only place that made me aware that if the window was pulled up without fixing the problem that it could easily fall down again and I'd have to pay to get it pulled up again.

Always Amazing Service from the Crew At SW Auto, Kevin is extremely knowledgeable and will explain and or get you the information you need. They are a extremely thorough shop. I had taken my truck to another shop for a inspection and they said that other than some minor leaks there was nothing wrong with the truck. I ended up Taking my truck to Kevin to have a few service things done, they ended up finding 5 things that where completely missed by the Other mechanic shop. SW Auto will make sure your vehicle gets the love it needs helping you stay on the road!!

These guys couldn't give me a quote over the phone for simple front end break job. They asked me to bring in my vehicle for a quote because they dont know the size of rotors. I told them I can give you the size on the phone. They still refused without any real reasons why they couldn't give a quote on a simple job. Apparently a break job needs diagnosis that will be charged extra of course. It looks like.. Other places give me a quote on the spot. Makes you question their expertise and integrity. I wouldn't trust these guys.Time wasters and money grabbers.

I cannot say enough good things about this shop! The staff here are so patient, knowledgeable and kind. The last service I had, I asked them to check the noise coming from the front of my car, they called back telling me they couldn’t hear it, but continued to try and find what was going on. They took it out a couple more times and finally heard the noise and were able to diagnose the problem quick. They also found that one of the parts was under warranty and gave me the appropriate discount. Amazing staff, so easy to deal with, really know their stuff!

I have taken my car to Southwest Auto a few times now. Once was for an out of province inspection, when they called for me to approve repairs they were very clear what was needed to pass inspection and what they had found that was not necessary to pass but should be done. Due to brakes noise (which I have had for years) I returned my car to insure there was no issue. They looked at by brakes and ground the rotors for no cost, which helped with the noise. All in all, timely service, honest assessments, and just a great place to go. I highly recommend.

The team is very upfront about what work needs to be done and how it can be prioritized based on safety. The communicate very well on the work needed and give accurate quotes. I use my car for work very regularly, so when I noticed a pretty gnarley shake in my front end I was concerned. Southwest auto helped to diagnose the problem and fix it as well as find a completely broken in half bolt connected to my rear control rod that they fixed which could have been dangerous. They were quick, thorough, and decently priced. They didn't try to up sell me on anything, but did make recommendations which were appreciated. At the end of everything I will 100% be using these guys again in the future.

This is my new auto service place! I had received a questionable $700 quote from another shop for a rattling noise, so I went to Southwest for a second opinion. Southwest discovered that the first shop had done some work incorrectly and the $700 repair was not needed at all. Southwest got me in very quickly, discovered the true problem, and saved me money. Brought in my car to the gang at Southwest Auto, and they truly went above and beyond. Diagnosed the problem accurately, fixed what needed to be fixed quickly, and even did a chunk of the repair on their own dime because of my sad story. These guys are *fast* and they know what they're doing. A neighbour recommended them for work on my 2010 Mini Cooper and I'm so grateful he did. They were able to complete my OOP Inspection, completely redo my rear breaks, and weld repair my loud exhaust - while also throwing in necessary touches to pass the inspection in close to 24 hours. This last time, as usual, i got a few quotes from other places around the city and, as usual, still ended up at Southwest Auto Service. I would recommend them to anyone regardless of the make and model of car you own. I had a very frustrating check Engine light issue. I took the car to 3 different mechanics with 3 vastly different suggestions on how to fix it. Not only did Southwest Auto fix the issue and clear the engine light, they took the time to explain the issue and were very honest and transparent about the cost & labour involved. I found them to be very honest, affordable and provide better service and repair then other mechanics in Calgary. Thank you!

The staff was very transparent on the costs and work needed for my vehicle to pass an out of province inspection. They also noted items that will soon need repair but didn’t pressure me to do it, but instead shared what the cost would be and that’s it. They were very quick for what I consider is a very big job, and they stand behind their work. I definitely recommend visiting this business for your vehicle work and out of province inspections.

Yet another great experience at Southwest Auto Service on 14th Street SW! Jordy and all of the staff are very friendly and professional and I always feel that I am being treated fairly. They are good at explaining the situation to me when something needs to be fixed - I never feel pressured, they answer all of my questions, and give me time to decide what I want to do. We'll be taking our cars to Southwest Auto as long as we live in Calgary.

Great shop, great quality and people. I had engine temperature issues. The guys helped me in a heartbeat! They inspected everything they could and fixed the car! I have used their other location in the past and always was satisfied with the work quality. Oh! I forgot to mention they found broken stabilizer bar that the other shop missed during their so called "inspection". The prices are a bit on higher end for my budget.

Brought my SUV in for an out of province inspection. When I dropped my car off at 8am, I notified the guys that I would be going to the mountains for a couple hours and would be back before 5pm to pick it up. They got my vehicle in straight away, and by 10:05 called to notify me the work was complete. I was able to pick it up before leaving town and avoid rushing back before closing. It was my first time going to a mechanic, and they made the process very easy and made me feel very at ease! They were really nice and helpful when I had questions. They said the car would be ready friday and I said I really needed it Thursday, and they bent over backwards to make sure it was ready when I needed it. The guys there know about cars. They found some issues in my car although they will try to sell services that doesn't really need to be done right away. That's not the kind of mechanic I'm looking for. They asked $3000 to change a battery that is still running good, change 2 balls joints and replace suspension spring. I took to another place and get everything done except the battery for $500 CAD.

The technician at Southwest Auto diagnosed IN SECONDS a problem caused, ignored, and then misdiagnosed by the dealer we bought our CRV from. Instead of insisting we get the work done at Southwest Auto, the manager actually phoned the dealership to explain the problem which allowed us to get the proper repairs done for free. This business is a class act. Don’t waste your time going anywhere else.

This was one of the BEST experiences I have had in Calgary with automotive repair. They managed to fix an issue (on the first try) which was causing my car and engine temperature to get very hot while highway driving, which 3 other mechanics could not find the root cause of! We did a diagnosis for a very complex issue and unfortunately the issue was identified incorrectly. After further investigation and discussions with Southwest auto, they were very helpful in acknowledging the electrical issue and remedying the misdiagnosis and took great care of us.
