I chose this salon for their stellar reviews and while I didn’t have the experience I thought I would the way they handled the problem today is earning them 5 stars. I live almost 2 hours away from New Orleans but I was looking for a couples massage and no one near me was offering them. Let me go further in saying for me a couples massage is two beds side by side in one room with 2 massage therapists working at the same time. Apparently other people think it’s 2 different rooms at the same time which to me is just 2 massages but now that is clear! I was happy to discover 3 salons in New Orleans could accommodate us. I chose this one bc they had a great track record and the salon is charming and has that special touch of New Orleans in the old mansion converted to salon. While I did have to call and speak to the owner on my own, once I told her how unhappy I was to have arrived and discovered that the couples massages were actually just 2 massages in adjoining rooms she went out of her way to make amends. The time we drive out and back was invaluable to me and I could have stayed in town for two massages but both massage therapists were EXCELLENT! I have lower back issues and he has neck and shoulder issues and this was his first massage but luckily he has now been converted and plans to get them regularly. Thank you to both massage therapists and to Angela. Your outstanding service, understanding, and professionalism is why you have such a high rating and it is well earned. The front desk girl made the error that affected everything else but I am more than satisfied at how management and therapists handled it once I brought it to their attention. Thank you!

I got three services. Facial, massage, and manicure. The facial and the massage were fine. I have no complaints about the esthetician or the masseuse. (Though, during my massage I could hear people on the balcony gossiping about one thing or another, which was super annoying.) The manicurist was obviously frustrated by the fact that I had gels on my nails, and also wanted a gel manicure. She complained about having to remove my gel, and was gossiping about other small businesses in the city. She actually outright lied about another nail spa in town, saying how the work they did damaged people's nails. When in reality, I'm lucky I even have any nails left to talk about thanks to this lady!! She was totally wrong about that other business, which I know because I happened to have been a customer there for at least 7 years now. I told her she was wrong about their technique for removing gels. She then proceeded to use an emery board to shave down the surface of my nails, all while hardly shaping my nails at all (the next day, I shaped them myself). She shaved down the surface of my nails so thin that when I put my hands into the UV light, they felt like they were burning. My nails have never been this thin and flimsy before, and I am actually in pain doing normal things now, such as getting items out of my pockets, doing my office work, and fussing with my purse. Then, to top it off, the gel was all over my fingers, and even my fingertips. It looked like a 6 y/o painted my nails with their eyes closed. One of my nails has already broken and it's only been 4 days. Save your money if you enjoy having fingernails at all.

i debated writing a review because I often like to chalk up negative experiences with someone having a bad day ( and everyone has bad days). My experience was not just terrible, it was disgusting. When I saw the reviews posted on yelp I had high hopes that I would be able to get a hair style that I was looking for. Boy was I wrong. First they over booked the lady I was seeing, and she had to mention it to me maybe 6 times, which in turn due to my tight time line I ended up blow drying my own hair. I was in the chair and she started to finally curl my hair, she was not only unfriendly when I tried to make conversation she was unresponsive and damn rude. When she did speak I felt uncomfortable with her constant back handed comments. She complained my hair was to fine and difficult to work with, (I actually have thick hair), and like why didn't' you suggest something that would work on my hair instead of making me feel bad. Knowing i was so upset she maybe sprayed me in the face and body with hairspray 17 times with no apologies, it was clear she wasn't trying to spray my hair! After tugging and pulling on my hair, spraying me in the face. I looked in the mirror to this, some how this is 20's style curls. After i said I cant leave like this, I got well your hair is really dry try oil.

What can I say but WOW! I am very very happy with the experience we received at Spa Isbell— I contacted the spa about hosting a bachelorette party since they were a full service spa. I was originally attracted to the pictures and how great their prices were. They had the owner contact me and she was SO HELPFUL and VERY ACCOMMODATING! She would check in with me constantly since I had called her months in advance, even offered to open up the spa for my party on the day they were closed since it would fit my schedule better. They have a private room for parties and the atmosphere in the place is amazing. A few days before we were to arrive, Hurricane Zeta hit NOLA and the spa was out of power. We were open to it, so Spa Isbell did our mani/pedis and massages without power. It wasn’t the best circumstances for them but they managed to pull it off to help make our weekend special. I am so happy that I came across Spa Isbell and highly recommend them to anyone who is in need of any spa services. They are professional, friendly, accommodating, thoughtful and affordable. I cannot say enough great things about them!

While my wife and I where staying in the Garden district of New Orleans, we decide after two days of walking in the French Quarter, that a spa would be in order. After checking Google for spas in the area, as well as reviews, we decided on Spa Isbell. Located conveniently between the Garden district and the French Quarter, Spa Isbell is a spa that offers many options. Hair, face, manicures, pedicures and of course, body. We chose a full body massage. Great choice! The masseuses were very polite and professional. I got a very talented younger man named Nate. I would highly recommend him and when we visit New Orleans again, I will ask for him by name. I would suggest you do the same. Very intelligent, polite and knows his craft very well. I had a great massage and conversation. Very relaxing and needed. My wife got a lady named Melanie. She said she was also very talented and professional. We want to thank them and all staff at Spa Isbell for an excellent massage and would recommend this spa for anyone in need of body care of any kind! Great JOB! Thanks to you all! See you next time we visit NOLA!.

I booked a Jazz Spa Package on 25 Sep 2020. The package include Swedish Massage, Deep Pore Facial and Manicure and Pedicure. All the services were performed with excellence. My only complaint is the hidden cost that are not explained prior to the service being performed. The advertised cost was $265 for the package. When I checked out, the total came up to $362. I was charged an additional $50 for removal of gel nails and fresh gel nails on my hands and feet. I was not told 18% was automatically added. The receptionist asked me if I wanted to leave a tip. I added a 18% tip. When I got a copy of my receipt, that I had to request, my total was $377. There was another $15 added that I was not informed of. When I questioned the bill I was told I was charged $50 extra for the gel nails and automatic 18% in addition to the 18% I added. In all I was paying 36% tip plus an additional $15. The manager/owner got involved and modified the bill. I left a cash tip for each attendant.

Shannon Munster is a miracle worker. My skin is damn near flawless since I started seeing her. I've been seeing her for about 6 months now for face peels but you could 100% see a difference after the first treatment alone. My face is brighter, healthier, tighter, and just absolutely amazing because of Shannon. I have not stopped singing her praises to all of my family and friends since my first visit. I also had never had a chemical peel prior to seeing Shannon and she talked me through the entire procedure and made me feel zero anxiety the whole time. Seriously, Shannon is amazing! P.s this spa is in a 3 story building and has a classic New Orleans look. There's a parking lot apx 4 doors down to the left of it which cost me $2 for two hours to park on a Saturday. The rest of the staff is very friendly and the salon offers a VIP card in which you get 15% off all your services and products for the year.

Sorry for the long review. Never had a spa day and didn't have any idea on where to start to find a spa. I chose this place because of the aesthetics, the whole vibe of the place was amazing to me. Went for a deep tissue massage and a deep pore cleansing facial and all I can say is WOW! They called me a couple of days before my appointment to regretfully tell me that Melanie (I hope I spelled that right), had suffered a back injury and couldn't do the deep tissue massage, which is understandable as I assume it requires way more work. I switched to the swedish massage, BUT I could definitely feel that she was still incorporating deep tissue into my massage. My stress settles in my back so it's usually super tense. I thought that was so thoughtful of her!! Ryan did my facial-- she took her time and made sure I was fully relaxed. My face literally glowed!! I will be back! Thank you!

This was my first time visiting New Orleans. I wanted to help my friend celebrate her wedding by treating her to the spa. I took a chance on this place after seeing it on google search. From the moment I walked in to the moment I left, it was an experience like no other. The ladies were friendly, inviting and so professional. More importantly, I felt warm and relaxed compared to most spas where it is like being treated like a paying customer going through a factory line. If I can go back on my next visit, I will bring more friends with me. The facials and pedicures are absolutely amazing and left my skin looking and feeling radiant! Thank you so much for the best spa experience ever! It was worth every penny!

Very good hair cuts for curly hair. Had a fantastic time on my first cut when my hairdresser adored my hair, repaired damages, and loved up on my curls. However, I had a lesser experience on my recent visit. I appreciated being seen at an earlier time. All I wanted was a haircut as it was a pretty steamy day and a blowout wasn't going to last long, and I wasn't going anywhere, just out doing errands. I was still pushed into getting a blow out and told by my hairdresser that it was "part of the package" and that it would last a week, and that she was going to try something new. I liked it, but it the blowout didn't really last long, much less a day. Oh well.

Having my favorite service, Pedi with my favorite person Kellie. This is my first time at this spa and it is beautiful and spacious. I was warmly greeted upon being buzzed into the main space. Large windows with a corner charming old New Orleans brick building with hardwood floors is inviting and elegant. The upstairs is devoted to massage and nails services that makes it peaceful and comfy. Coffee, tea or wine beverages are offered while waiting for the service. 2 service stations are available with comfort and care. I loved my treatment. Parking amwas fairly easy and free along side of the spa on Thalia. Can't wait to return.

I had a deep tissue massage with Veronica. I can’t recommend. The spa itself is tastefully decorated and everyone was friendly including the masseuse. I get massages 1x/month and I’m very familiar with techniques and what “good” is. The massage itself was inadequate. Lots of pressure was put on joint areas and tendons that shouldn’t be massaged. The next day I have some pain that is not the typical soreness that comes with massage. Beyond the technique, the music playing kept skipping from a damaged CD and her phone went off which was distracting . Disappointing experience and I can’t recommend.

I just had a prenatal massage from Victoria and it was amazing! The spa itself is precious and unique; I felt transported. Victoria’s skill was I was impressed with her ability to vary her pressure when she found knots vs. when she was in a vulnerable area such as my lower back since I am 33 weeks pregnant. She also clearly has above average knowledge of the human body because she utilized stretching as well. I felt so safe and relaxed. I cannot recommend enough. I will definitely be back. What a pleasant experience!

Victoria was amazing!! A true magician masseuse! She gets 5/5!⭐️ I also liked the overall vibe of the place! A one stop shop! My mini-facial was more of a 3/5⭐️ I have had better & more relaxing facials.. and she made me feel weird about having dry skin. Put a slight damper on it.. My husband partook in both as well and says it was very relaxing and he enjoyed the lavender, and warm towels during massage which I also liked! His only negative was being able to hear external noises during massage. Overall a solid 4/5⭐️!

I would just like to first state the atmosphere in this spa is the best I have experienced. The staff is so welcoming, and you can really sense a cozy feeling in the air. I was new to the area and decided to choose Spa Isbell for my first New Orleans hair experience. Micah was amazing. He listened to all my concerns and wants and was able to deliver the best results I could imagine. I can't wait to try some of the services upstairs in the spa. All around Spa Isbell will get a 10 out of 10 from me! :)

This was a needed deep tissue massage. Victoria was amazing and listened to everything I requested. My upper back, neck and shoulders needed the most care and she did just that!! Oh and I love the essential oils she brought. Awesome!!! The staff is very nice and welcoming. The atmosphere is soo laid back and serene. The location is very easy to find as well. I will be booking another massage.

Pure Bliss!! I enjoyed the carnival package, facial, mani/pedi and massage by Ashley, Jennifer and Melanie, respectively. All were attentive and talented. Ashley and Jennifer both had great recs for dining, shopping, drinks and safe walking routes. Much appreciated!! It really put the icing on the cake when they asked if I'd like a glass of wine during my pedicure :) perfect day treat!!

Love the vibe and the atmosphere at this salon. The staff is amazing! I have seen Gregor for haircuts, and I was very pleased, and Victoria for a massage, which was one of the best I’ve had in a long time. The decor and atmosphere inside the spa is gorgeous and very relaxing. I’m definitely coming back and looking forward to trying other services.

I walked into this spa spontaneously and had such an amazing massage. I can’t remember the name of the therapist (I hope the spa adds it here!) but she listened carefully and was so determined to release as much tension as she could, total expert. Will go again if I’m back in town.

This is my go-to spot for massages! I have been going to Victoria for more than a year when I just need a moment of relaxation or if I have sore muscles that need attention. The service is always 10/10 and I recommend to anyone looking for a calming and rejuvenating experience!

Get great haircuts by Angela. She also knows color well. I have noticed that she likes to mentor new people. Once she spent twice the usual time cutting my hair, because she was giviing instructions on technical reasons for what she was doing to a new staff person watching us.

I went to Spa Isbell for the first time for a massage and it was amazing! I felt so relaxed afterwards and loved that they used peppermint and lavender essential oils. Professional and friendly staff, and their massage prices are very reasonable. Highly recommend!

Love this place! I'd gotten a barely adequate haircut at a local chain salon and was feeling pretty down. Just hoping Crystal could fix the mess a bit but she worked some kinda miracle and got my hair exactly how I'd wanted it!

I saw Crystal several times and she gave me my cute bob as seen in this picture. I love Spa Isabell! Unfortunately, I was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and I have since lost my hair. When my hair comes back so will I!
