I am a volunteer for CWGC Hands on our task is to check all headstones including personal memorials to our fallen brothers and sisters. I came to your cemetery yesterday to check on the headstones and found everything to be ok, i have however placed my 708 report in stating some PMs and CHs (Personally Headstones & Commonwealth War Headstones) require some cleaning, hopefully in the near future and with restrictions lifted i can come along to clean the stones i found in need of cleaning otherwise a very quite, delightful place.
The Church is a very old one and it has a WW1 graveyard. In the past few years they have held a remembrance service to remember the ones who are buried there. They try and make it as close to the date when they died 100 years ago.
Traditional service friendly community with a cup of tea or coffee after the service and a slice of toast, for any donation. A little second hand stall with small gifts and cards also in the hall after the sunday service.
Beautiful church with a lovely vicar and congregation. Blonde lady (think her name is Jayne) who helps out is particularly kind and helpful, goes out of her way to make new visitors feel welcome.
