I have to do this again to stress how frustrated I still feel. Last spring, I was so sick, everything in my body left my body. Then I couldn't keep anything down. Even water, I vomited all of it. When I went to the er they gave a iv drip that helped, but then they forced me out. Nobody asked me if I was okay with that (I wasn't). They threw me out while I had no sleep, nothing in my stomach, dehydrated, legs so weakened I could barely walk... I very nearly died on the trip home because I wasn't allowed to stay. They threw me on the street and i nearly died with no other hospital to go to. The prescriptions were made on Sunday night but it was well over 12 hours before I could go to the grocery store to get it. Then I was left hiccuping endlessly. The phone suggested I go to the er. Why, I don't know. They forced a iv in my arm for absolutely no reason. Leaving me alone staring into space in a scary empty room. Yes i was given mylanta type medicine that stopped the hiccups, but on the dot, 6 hours later it started again. And i couldn't get that atthe store, much less stay at the hospital and get another drink every 6 hours. The only advice was to go to a specialist that was hard to find and she didn't have a single appointment available for over a month. Luckily, before then the problem fixed itself. But I don't have insurance, I'm dirt poor. The form to get bill help was so confusing and I couldn't find where to send it... not to mention the charges were around 3000 bucks. That for throwing me on the street alone and helpless when I was at the weakest I've ever been in my life, and the second trip being totally useless. I never went to the emergency room before, and after that, I'll do whatever it takes to not end up again. Then they say patient satisfaction is important? Nobody asked me if I was okay. In reality I was at the weakest I've ever been in my life but they just demanded I leave. What part of the hippocratic oath says toss them in the street without asking if they can survive without medical care? I don't know how I survived that night. And another thing, Austin Lakes Hospital was the most evil thing ever. I was perfectly fine and they locked me up in torturous misery for over a week. There was NOTHING wrong with me, it was all my mother. But I guess they felt they could take advantage and make more money making me suffer. And they deleted my scathing review pointing that out.

Hotel St. Davids was fantastic! Dr Francisco Ortero once again fixed up my mother with no problems. This guy really knows what he is doing. I appreciate him putting in all the hard work to know what he does today. My mother went to get an Angiogram and he saw clogging so he ballooned the existing stent. Just like that she was back to her old self once again. Janeene (the little pregnant Asian girl) was the first nurse that helped us. She was basically the first impression on the hospital and she did great. She, like all of them, was amazing. When they took my mother back she kept me up to date on how the operation was going and was very assuring. After the surgery we were kicked out of the cardiac unit and moved to room 248 of the telemetry unit . Up there we came across brook and ?Tessa? as our nurses? Brook helped me by taking me to where the cafeteria was, that was very sweet. My mother had to lay down flat for 8 hours and she was hurting really bad. Thankfully Brook was there right at the 8 hour mark to get her up. Unfortunately we didn't spend much time with them but they were awesome. Next came Emily and Savannah. They were super accommodating and got us everything we needed and wanted. Ice, cups, ice-cream, blankets, pillows, etc. We made those girls work. One girls husbands birthday was that day and my mother taught them a new birthday song for him and they really appreciated it. Last but not least, I had to mention the food... The food was actually really good. The selection they had was vast and the best part about it was it was the food being reasonably priced. Rosario came in and cleaned very well and was very polite. She knocked everything out very quickly as well. It definitely wasn't her first rodeo. We really appreciated Rosario. Overall Hotel St. David's was very nice and I would easily give this place a 5 star review. My mother said she had one complaint though.... When they gave her blankets, they don't tuck you in that well. A very minor complaint when it comes to the whole experience! Thanks for the amazing care!

Everything went very well at first. But after I went into recovery things changed. I had to wait four hours for a room. I should've only been in recovery for an hour. When I got to my room my nurse had such a thick accent I couldn't understand her. The new tech didn't even know how to properly put a blood pressure cuff on. My cousin had to do it for her. My doctor stopped in and asked for the nurse to please put gauze over my sutures. The nurse came back an hour & half later and did it. The next day was more of the same. One procedure I had was actually outpatient the other procedure I had to stay overnight to be monitored. I was fine and passed my doctor's requirements before I could leave. I was ready to leave before the check out time of 11 a.m. I spoke with the new nurse on duty about me being discharged and to please take out the needles on each hand for intravenous lines. The nurse literally looked at my cousin and me with the response of - I just got here I cannot deal with this- then she left the room. I was floored by the unprofessionalism. I waited so long in my room after that I had to go to the nurse's station. My nurse was just leaning against the counter laughing and talking with another nurse. I asked to speak with whomever was in charge but was told there was only one senior nurse manager on duty for 63 people. About an hour later the needles were taken out of my hands and I was able to sign my discharge papers and leave. Not a good experience.

I gave birth on 6/17 at St. David's Main; my experience was mostly positive. The labor and delivery nurses were fantastic. The parts that soured my experience were the NICU and the recovery room. There was a nurse in particular who was so condescending in her interactions with me; she would make remarks under her breath about my son and she would provide zero guidance on caretaking. In addition, my son was discharged without a hearing assessment and I was advised by multiple people to call the NICU and schedule it. I called for 4 days after bringing my son home only to be told that he could not have his assessment at the hospital and I would have to schedule it independently, which is fine, but I wish this would have been communicated to me much sooner. Also, the recovery room, which I know are being renovated, was in terrible shape. The faucet and toilet had leaks, the tv didn't work and was the size of Michael Scott's tv (iykyk) and people, not nurses, would peek in from time to time because it was the first room coming out of L&D. Looking back, I wish I would have gone to St. David's North, which appears to have newer facilities and in much better shape.

The staff is what made my visit so phenomenal! My pre-op nurse, Audrey, was so personable and did SUCH a great job with my IV. I didn’t tell her this but I was super nervous about it since I have small veins and usually need the IV in my hand. But it was super seamless and I didn’t even have any bruising after. She did an excellent job. My doctor who performed my surgery made me feel super comfortable and confident. The anesthesia specialists were also fantastic and very friendly and informative. My post-op nurse Franny really made me feel welcome and informed. She made me feel so at ease and cared for. Each and every staff member I interacted with from check-in and being taken to my room, to being taken to my ride home, was so amazing. I haven’t been to a hospital in a very long time and didn’t know what to expect but they really blew my expectations out of the water. I hope every single person who cared for me that day knows they really made a wonderful impact on my experience. If I ever need to have a procedure done again, I will be returning to St. David’s because of their excellent service!

My mother and I have been here for over two hours and have still not been seen. She informed the team of her weakness and pains and that seemed to mean nothing. We saw people come in after her and get seen before her. A severe emergency would have been understandable but one of the people seen before her had a dog bite. I am watching my mother try to sleep which she has not been able to do. She cannot sleep, she cannot eat, she is in constant pain. She didn’t want to go the the ER because she knew this would be the treatment she would receive. This is sad and upsetting. Her pain is of no consequence to them. I don’t understand this. I know they are massively understaffed, but I would rather they tell her they can’t see her for that reason, or send her to another hospital, or at the very least, be upfront about the fact that the wait would be for hours and let us decide if we should stay or go elsewhere. The only thing that warrants 1 stars is that everyone we have spoken to has been kind. But kindness is the only good thing which is not nearly enough.

I had my baby girl here, Kylie. I asked for the epidural 10 minutes before she decided to pop out so I felt every little single thing, it was my fault though cause I wanted to feel as much contractions as I could, stupid me lol. But I'm so grateful for the wonderful staff who helped me through the painful yet wonderful birth. And I'm sorry the one lovely nurse with long dark beautiful hair that didn't get to have her lunch cause Kylie just so quickly decided to come out. My 4th and last baby❤️ I did also right away have my tubes tied. Every nurse in aftercare was very nice. Very heartwarming experience. I wished I had all my kids here. The food there was also very delicious and I even asked for food to boost my milk and they told me which in the menu was the best! Oh and something I didn't have before was a breastfeeding consultant! That was awesome. Also a counselor on site! Helped me so much. I'm so thankful for this wonderful hospital and the wonderful staff. I don't think I've ever liked a hospital as much as I liked this one.

The nurses are great and attentive. The major trouble was with the hospital general doctor overseeing medicine ordered. I my case of major back surgery all pain medication was listed as "as needed ", which actually means that I have to ask for any pain relief medication! I was fresh out of surgery and had no idea what pain medication was ordered, nor how to take it. (P.S. I am not in the medical profession) I don't understand why a patient just out of surgery is responsible for knowing what medication to ask for to help reduce my pain! At one point I had to wait hours for my next pain medication because I was given a drug not understanding the effectiveness or interactions with other medications! So, finally on the second day of intermittent pain relief I had to ask my surgeon to request that my pain relief medication be given to me on a set schedule. Once the scheduled pain medication began I was so much better almost instantly! Scheduled pain relief should be mandatory, not PRN!

I had hip surgery on May 10. After surgery I was brought to a room on the Ortho floor. Tried to sleep but there was loud construction noise above my room which kept me from resting. May 11 at 6:15 am the construction began again. It lasted all morning. The drilling and constant banging was unacceptable. The staff all said the construction had been going on for weeks. I find it ridiculous that St David’s Hospital would submit patients to the stress of the construction noise immediately after major surgery. Had I known that I was going to be subjected to such poor conditions I would never have had surgery at St David’s. I intend to post on social media how poorly my stay was and recommend no one go to St David’s Ortho. My nurses and hospital staff were first class professionals and the cafeteria food was awesome. It’s too bad they have to work in a construction zone. I give St David’s a less than one star. I definite won’t be returning Paula Sawyer

Disappointed to say the least. I was omitted due to a car accident. No one cleaned my hand that was broken. Your nurse staff was very rude when I asked if I could have something to drink while I was waiting for three-4 hours and getting no type of updates. Also your nurse practitioner Brandy Rizzo should probably learn how to speak to patients that just underwent trauma. I haven’t been able to walk properly since my accident and was trying to get information on my xRays for my leg and back and I was in the middle of doing that and said “what about my leg and back because I can’t walk..” Ms. Brandy didn’t even let me finish my sentence before she blurted out “oh you can walk it hurts but you can walk” that is unacceptable given that I was pushed around in a wheelchair the entire time I was there and hadn’t spent anytime with that nurse. Will never recommend this hospital for any type of care. Staff was rude and unattentive

The place was clean and organized. Staff were friendly and the lady who did my echocardiogram was very friendly and helpful and answered all of my questions very professional. The only issue I had was that when I pre-registered, I was told I had to prepay a co-pay when I arrived. I went to the front desk to pay and the lady behind the counter told me I would pay after my test. After my test, I went to the counter and no one was there. A nurse told me to wait and that the woman just stepped away for a minute. I waited, made a cup of coffee, ate a snack bag of cookies and noticed a gentleman sitting opposite of the lady I was waiting for at least 15 minutes. I asked him and he told me that I could leave that they would bill my insurance and bill me my portion after the claim was paid. I hadn't eaten before I went for the test because I had not been given instruction on eating or taking my meds beforehand. Somewhat frustrating

Some good, some not so good. I arrived at 11:00 a.m., with the procedure scheduled for 1:30 p.m. The nurse who prepped me, suggested using Lidicane to mnimize the pain caused by the needles (which I detest!). I was finally taken to the surgery room at 3:45 p.m. Made for a long day of stress, made more comforting with the TV remote! Staff was very attentive and professional. In Recovery, I met two excellent nurses; Mia and DeKendra. Both should be commended for their wonderful care, including ice chips for my dry mouth, something for pain, and checking to make sure I was comfortable while I was waking up. I am VERY pleased with Dr. Kessler! I have been a patient of his for 9 years, and I was very happy that he came to my room in person to explain the delay. Parking was very convenient, and the day surgery department was comfortable. Not counting the delay in my prodecure, I was very pleased with my experience.

The medical personnel were great and caring. Additionally, the young lady who first checked us in, Alana, was very nice. Prior to our appointment though, things were a little confusing. We had to walk a long way to check in for the appointment and then were sent upstairs for my appointment. No one was there to check us in so we waited and waited until I finally asked a frazzled clinic person to help me figure out when I would be called. She left with not much to say, but I was called back in a few minutes. I don't think anyone knew I was ready. Additionally, I was not on the list to be seen that day, although I had had my appointment for several weeks. No one had called to confirm my appointment time and then it seemed that day I was an "add on." It was not a good feeling. It was great that the nurse and doctors were competent and efficient.

I had to go to my doctor's office to get my lab orders because after a week, they still couldn't successfully fax the orders to the St. DAVID'S lab. I asked them where the lab was in the hospital. They sent me to the West entrance. A girl behind a desk eating her lunch told me I had to go to the main lab and painted in a direction to the East. After knocking on a door, someone comes and says I have to go to the North entrance to register. I go there and get registered (after waiting for the person who I was talking to help two other hospital employees with something that they had interrupted her registering me). Then I had to go back East to the main lab to actually do the lab. I am familiar with this hospital because I sometimes work there. If I had not, I can't imagine a regular patient could have found most of it. Very poor experience!

  • Gray Hord

Went into the ER front desk people were not the most people friendly. However, my experience got worse when I was brought back to the ER and waited in the middle of the hallway for an hour. Finally a “doctor” comes to speak with me, and essentially prescribed my medication in the middle of the ER hallway without even being evaluated…. Never once did I have a room, a nurse, or any medical privacy. I also got a prescription that doesn’t even begin to address the issues I came in for. Then your registrar has the audacity to tell me I owe $150 dollars for my visit. I think not being that I was never treated like a patient…. Side note, it also seems like the ER staff couldn’t figure out how to be professional or get along. I DO NOT RECOMMEND…

A friend of mines dad is in this hospital right now. He was transferred here from Baylor Scott and White for a procedure he was supposed to have early this morning. There was urine on the floor and an old pair of shoes next to the bed when we arrived. The staff did nothing to address either the urine or the shoes. I cleaned up the urine and asked about the shoes, and if room was clean. They just put the shoes in the closet and didn’t answer me. My dad called the nurse last night with the call button on the remote and they literally turned it off and never came in. So 20 minutes we called the nurse again and they answered, said they were coming and it was over an hour before they got to the room.

I don’t even want to give them a one star but I wanted to Say this I’m not paying a 4000 bill when they almost killed me and messed me up and cut me open with out using numbing supplies or putting me under . They think they can change me after they’re the reason my child heart rate was dropping and I had to have a c section. Here the thought I have had induced before but nothing like this . They didn’t know what hat they were doing the only people there were nurses . And I am now looking for a good lawyer to sue them because I now also have nerve damage were they cut me open . It been 9 months and it still hurts to button up my jeans . I don’t ever want to go there for me or my child again.

I was treated very well before my surgery and after my surgery. Even when I went into the hospital at St. Davids Hospital for 3 months in a coma. I would not want to go anywhere else but St. Davids Medical Center. They treat you very well and help you with what you need. And treat my family very well from the ICU to the other floors with pneumonia. Doctors were great, staff was great if I did have an issue they took care of it right away. Even the Surgery center is great where I had my surgery at Oakwood surgery center. The doctors and staff was great. Overall St. Davids medical Center is about the only place I would rather go for my medical needs. Besides my doctors offices.

Had the WORSE experience with the ER nurse Jacob and the staff who answered the ER phone on Saturday Aug 26 6-9pm Long story short I was hung up on 3 times after supposedly being transferred to the nurses station ie nurse Jacob. Called the ER after and ER guy told me he was not going to continue to transfer me. We’ll ask them to quit hanging up on me! He even transferred me to security whom are just as rude! Fast forward to my relative FINALLY transferred to a room on the 5th floor. ABSOLUTE WORSE!!!!! My relative wa yelling for water for over an HOUR!!!! Took them 3 hours to provide cough medicine. I despise this hospital and will never go there by choice ever again.

  • Laura Gleaves

Not the best care in the world. My son was there 3 1/2 weeks and was paralyzed and got horrible blisters and bedsores. They would serve his meals and leave the room and he had no use of his hands and therefore was unable to eat,. They could’ve cared less about his condition. The communication with doctors was absolutely horrible. Of course this was not a specialized hospital for spinal cord injuries, but in any case again, the communication was awful. While it may be the best in Austin if you have a loved one with a serious condition, I would definitely leave Austin and get them care in a bigger city like Dallas or Houston. Thankfully, he did have a great surgeon.

Upon arrival to a very clean Medical Center, we were welcomed by very friendly reception. Admission went very smoothly and was escorted to prep area. Nurses were very friendly and professional. Met with Doctor and Anesthesiologist and the procedures were explained to me. After surgery in my beautiful , extra large room, the nursing staff was very friendly, professional and caring. The meals I was served were exceptional and served hot. All of the staff from Housekeeping, Dietary, Medical Personal, Nursing Staff were wonderful. I would refer anyone to St. David's Medical Center and Texas Heart Center of Austin ,Texas.

  • Loretta Robinson

My appointment at 2pm with Austin Heart was the worst appointment I've had with them. I checked in and waited 1 1/2 hours before being seen. The lady that checked me in forgot to tell staff I was there. I drive 1 hour there and 1 hour home... what a waisted afternoon. Because I knew my heart rate was in 70's due to taking Flecainide as told by Dr. Gallinghouse nurse... it registered 70 on EKG there. I think I should not be charged but don't know how that works. My heart rate had been 120 to 138 in a loop and would not go down until instructed to take Flecainide. I wanted to see Dr Abide to see what may be going on.

Everyone - no exceptions - who assisted in any way was courteous, diligent, communicated clearly and provided me with excellent care. I feel truly blessed by my experience there. EVERYONE from greeter to my surgeon was kind, patient and very helpful. Many even laughed at my corny jokes. I am amazed how well I am getting around today, one week after having a knee replacement. It was BY FAR the most involved surgery I ever had, and the healing process is proceeding VERY well under the continuing excellent care the medical team gives me. I am full of appreciation to all involved in my rebuilding! Lee Burke

Before my procedure we were given instructions on where to park and access the hospital. Upon arrival, hospital staff checked us in and paper work was taken care of in a extremely professional matter. The pre-surgery preparation was started with the nurses in a timely matter, which always gives the patient confidence before and after the procedure. The hospital was military clean, along with the nutritional meals that were served. My procedure went well and I am so Thankful for the Doctors and skilled nursing staff. This was such a team effort for St David's, Thank You All. Mike Holloway

  • Deondraye Jarmon

I was in for a knee replacement, I was a little nervous but, the surgery staff were just great. The nurse assured me that my Dr was wonderful and I was in good hands. When I got to my room for the next 3 days absolutely everything that attended to me were the best that anyone could have, including the c cafeteria staff &, housekeeping. I couldn't have asked for more. St. David's should be proud of his the nurses, techs anesthesiologist etc treat every patient. I recommend this hospital to anyone needing care. Thank you to the entire staff of St. David's Medical Center.

  • Stephanie King

All I'm gonna say negative is that you can for sure tell which nurses and staff want to be there to help and which ones want to show their superior that they want to be there. There were a few that didn't treat you so well but when it comes to their superior coming in they were on top of it. But I will say my favorite ultimate people was my surgical team. Love you guys so much and appreciate All the followup that was done by them. My heart goes out to Merritt. She was the pillar of my visit there. Totally need more of her in this world. God bless you hun.

I just had my baby at St. David Main. It was a first rate facility all the way through. The staff were all very kind and took very good care of me and my baby. My baby came so fast that the on-staff midwife delivered him because there was no time to get my doctor there. My postpartum room & bathroom were both large and nice. They had a big menu and the meals were great. They worked together to honor my request for a minimal hospital stay and got all of the needed testing pushed through quicker. I was very happy with my St. David birth experience.

  • Sharon Anderson

Great experience. Booking the appointment was easy and they walked me through requesting my films from another provider. After I filled out the release, they took care of everything. Communication before the appointment was thorough and timely. I was greeted in the office by a friendly and personable team that made me feel valued. The technician was fantastic. She took care to make me comfortable and made sure she’d gotten everything the doctor would want. The facilities were clean and comfortable. I received my result by mail within one week.

  • Juanelle Schwarzwalder

My sis is in the hospital and not being taken care of adequately. I tried to talk to a patient advocate, was sent to voice mail and she was out of the office. I talked to a charge nurse and am wondering if I was able to make her understand the issues at hand. The night nurse, Peter, would not take care of my sis and acted like he was put out because he had to take care of her. This is 5 days in the hospital and she has not received a shower!!! Don’t go to this hospital because you will not receive good care. I do not live in Austin.

  • Catherine Thompson

I spent two days at St David’s Central location in the labor and delivery/postpartum area an can not say enough good things about all the nurses, lactation consultants, cleaning staff and food staff. Everyone is super friendly and very attentive. I think the food there is delicious and the carrot cake is a must! Shout out to Grace and Naomi my labor and delivery nurses and to Gizzelle my postpartum nurse. I had two children at this hospital and recommend it to all my friends.

  • Vivian Martin

My mammogram experience at St. David was great! From the appointment process, the office/facility experience and process, as well as the actual exam. Everything thing was smooth, efficient, and professional. I would recommend anyone needing a mammogram to try St. David’s Medical Center. I’ve used them for over 10 years and the experience has always been outstanding. Great job and a huge thank you to all staff who made my experience a great one time and time again!

  • Peter Meyr

My wife had an excellent care here at St. David Medical Center for the last three weeks. The Doctors are really experts in their profession. Nurses are very friendly and passionate about their work. The foods are very delicious, and rooms are very cleans. We are very grateful for an amazing care that our family member received in this hospital, and we recommend St. David Medical Center to everyone who is seeking quality care for themselves or their loved ones.

  • Laura Carr

Would not recommend I went in by ambulance because I stay at the Ronald McDonald's house and I have no family in Austin my child had to have hart surgery so I dint have a ride there I been running a fever for weeks from tooth infection the doctor there walks in says ill give you Amoxicillin then tells me don't call an ambulance for what I had going on with me straight up disrespected me? Tells tells me do not ever Call an ambulance for something like that.

  • Nancy Fairchild

They are a very well run and welcoming facility. The only thing that was a little disappointing is that they had a little mess up on my account and left me in the waiting room for longer than usual. When they did arrive to take me back to my mammogram, the lady mentioned that she had to find my account as it had been closed by the person who did my bone scan. She was sorry for the delay. Both attendants were very responsive and did a great job.

  • Jennifer Chu

Kathy is a miracle worker, my mom broke her hip 2 weeks before my appointment. I called to ask for rescheduling my appointment. She got it done less than 5 minutes vs the other lady told me I have to wait another month. Lori was so friendly and cheerful, she made my appointment so smooth. MaryAlice was so nice to help with my insurance information. The breast center is the best place to have exam done in Austin!! Thanks for the great team!!

  • Connie Viator

Had arthroplasty surgery on 6/21/2023. I received the best pre- and post- surgery care from the highly skilled and dedicated medical staff at St. David's. No detail was overlooked. All questions were answered and my comfort and recovery was the #1 priority. As soon as my left knee is healed and I am fully ambulatory, right athroplasty is next. I anticipate the same level of care , compassion and comfort from St. David's at that time!

  • Hershal Blankenship

Very happy with all staff and procedures, except 1 thing. I was told to park my auto in the main garage, go to the main entrance, take elevator to 2nd floor, and then proceed to check-in. I did that. It was a long, long journey from the elevator exit to the check-in. Subsequently, I learned that there is an elevator from parking garage #4 to the check-in area, which would have been much, much easier for my wife and me.

  • Jamie Claypool

I showed up on the wrong day for an appointment and I live 40 miles away in Spicewood. The staff ( Sheila who is fabulous) worked me in for my appointments and I was able to be out early. Allison, the technician for mammography and bone density was very professional. This was one of the most positive experiences I have had at St. David's breast center. They have great improvements in their work flow. Thank you.

  • Shammah Rodriguez

Great experience! I had a 2D echo done and I was in and out without delay. The tech that performed the procedure was a male, which I had requested a female, but he did such a good job maintaining my privacy, making me feel as comfortable as possible. The results were sent right over to my doctor and I had a full report available to view within 2 hrs of leaving the appt. Highly recommend for cardiac imaging.

  • Lydia Nettey (Tsobis)

I just moved to the Austin area and needed a specialist. I called to ask if I could get an appointment and was told I’d need to get a PCP elsewhere. The health professional I spoke to was trying to be helpful but there was another lady on the speaker phone who was very dismissive basically telling me to go elsewhere to figure myself out and clicked the line. Extremely disappointing and disrespectful.

  • Debbie Rash

Nurse that inserted my IV did a terrible job. During my stress test, had to stop and relocate the needle because it was inserted wrong. Ended up in my hand and that was painful. I heard all about the nurse’s vacation to the coast during my stress test. Not very professional. The technician that did my Echo was very nice and professional. Showed concern that I was comfortable. She gets 5 stars.

  • Robert Cremeens

The nurses and nurses assistants were very nice and did a good of job of taking care of me. The hospital needs updating. At one point my room vital monitor stopped working correctly. They did not replace it, instead changed some batteries but still did not work right. Then they had to bring in some other blood pressure machine to check me. If they updated the facilities would give it a 5*.

  • Kathy Vowles

The nursing staff are professional, very helpful, friendly and understanding. The parking garage spaces are to narrow, the ticket machines are breaking constantly. The exist card reader doesn't work half the time. Majority of the doctors are understanding and competent. A few are arrogant and need to retake bedside manner courses. The food needs a lot of help, looks are deceiving.

I wouldn’t recommend this hospital..Dell children is the best for kids in Austin .Doctors differ in their decisions confusing parents .Every shift doctors paint a different picture ..On top of all after discharge billing dept sending wrong bills and chasing through debt collection for payments inspite of paying fully several months ago .So on-a whole hospital lacks coordination.

  • Roland Press

I can't praise the staff at St. David's enough after my recent surgery but I've tried. The facilities, staff and the food are top notch and everything about my recent stay was great. I don't hesitate to recommend St. David's and my surgeon who is affiliated with them when the opportunity presents itself. The nurses who cared for me were super attentative and friendly as well.

  • Bianca Bacchetta

We had a homebirth transfer and we weren’t expecting or happy to go to the hospital, to say the least. However, I couldn’t have been more happy with the hospital staff. They were so attentive and kind and did everything they could do for us to have the birth we wanted. They were totally compassionate and understanding. I really can’t speak highly enough of the staff here.

Putting Profits over patients is not okay why don’t y’all listen when a patient try to tell you about their healthcare very nasty hospital dirty linens blood all over walls nurses & doctors attitudes are very rude and nasty if you can’t fully staff a floor close it down charged insurance for a service I have not received. We loved our experience at St. Davids. We gave birth to both our children at this hospital. The nursing Staff and overall experience was amazing both times. As we don't want to end up in a hospital ever again, but if we ever did St. Davids is the place to go. Special thanks to our nurses in the Labor and Delivery unit- Grace and Naomi! You guys were the best!!!!!

I am a physician cardiologist who traveled from New York to St. Davids for an ablation procedure with Dr. Andrea Natale who is the best in the world for this procedure. I had a great experience and great result at St. Davids that literally saved my life. I will continue my follow up at the Texas cardiac arrhythmia institute with Dr. Natale and his wonderful team.

  • Susan Patterson

I had excellent care from the moment I arrived at St. David’s Medical Center.I was made to feel comfortable and everything was explained fully. All the medical team are very caring and put you fully at ease. I feel extremely fortunate to be treated by Dr. Andrea Natale and his team. I look forward to living a much improved quality of life. Thank you so very much.

Everyone was professional and very kind, My after surgery Nurse Crystal was one of the sweetest thoughtful and caring Nurse I have ever had after a surgery. She knew I was worried and took the time to explain things so I wasn’t stressed . No one wants to be sick or need surgery , but if you have to have surgery this is a very good hospital. And great staff .

  • Theresa

The woman at the front desk, Dee, is always kind, knowledgeable and helpful. My PT, Natasha, is truly the cream of the crop! I am very fortunate to have a PT that specializes in vestibular and vision disorder, she is a unicorn! She is also one of the most intelligent people I’ve ever met, and is a true advocate and ally for her patients. Thank you, Natasha!!

  • Susan Beggs

If being in a hospital can be pleasant, I was treated in a wonderful way. Everyone I came in contact with from cafeteria staff, housekeepers, and transporters to professional care from nurses and hospitalists were kind, caring and proactive to meet all my needs. Thank you so very much especially to the surgical orthopedic unit!!! Too many names to list

My mom had back operation and she is 83 years young for her age to have this major surgery. The whole staff was wonderful with her. She was very please with all her attention she received during her stay. Thank you to everyone for taking care my mother. I really it makes a difference the special attention and care from everyone. Thank you to everyone!

  • Kaye Martin

Procedures that I had been worried about were made so easy with John and Hunter administering the tests. I was not kept waiting and everything moved along very efficiently. Both were very kind and thoughtful and explained what was happening or would happening. I wish all testing facilities were as well run as St. David's Med Center and as thoughtful..

  • Brian Harvey

Check in was very fast. Diagnosis was very good. Treatment was excellent. Food was excellent. Only negative was communication of treatment plan within the medical team. Treatment plan was made and communicated, then plan changed and several within the medical team were not aware of new treatment path. Overall very happy with experience and follow-up.

  • Ginny Jacks

Oh my goodness, I can't say enough good things about my visit! Everyone, from checkin to checkout, was friendly, upbeat, and attentive to me. Every step was explained thoroughly, and everyone made me feel as comfortable as possible. Obviously your staff is carefully selected and well-trained. I highly recommend St David's. Med Ctr. Thank you so much

  • Corinne Davis

Had surgery 6/19. Everyone except 1 nurse was phenomenal. I had a lot of anxiety and they were all so incredibly kind and accommodating for my nerves. The one nurse, I don’t recall their name because anesthesia, was seemingly trying to rush me out. I couldn’t keep my eyes open and they would rush in clapping to wake me up and yelling to wake me.

  • Barbara Smith

The nurses and staff were wonderful! They were extremely caring. However, I stayed in the recovery room for almost 12 hours before I got a room! My daughter waited in the lobby for over 5 hours and never saw me. I was told you are next on the list for a room starting around 2! No! I gave 2 stars for this. The nurses and staff would get 5 stars.

  • Amanda Johnston

Very poor communication with nurses and administrators the entire time. I was constantly given conflicting messages and then neglected for hours at a time. When I pushed the use bathroom button it took the nurse two hours to come and help me. Discharge paperwork could not be printed by the ER desk. This was my worst hospital experience ever.

  • Shayne VanDale

I have had several surgeries at different hospitals in Austin. St. David's was by far the best care I have received. Every staff member was so caring and kind, and pleasant to talk to. I never had to wait when I called for a nurse. My visit was so comfortable, I could have stayed another night! Many kudos to the entire staff at St. David's!

  • Ron Blanton

I was given the "mid-level celebrity status" treatment...I don't really deserve such pampering but I guess I should be grateful, and I am. I felt confident during my time at St. David's and to all the gracious individuals that took care of me in the pre-op phase as well. (Cheryl Walker for instance...patience of a saint...Thanks Cheryl!)

  • Robert Valdez

The staff was really friendly they took real good care of me after my knee replacement surgery! would like to recognize Larissa, Daryl and Myra on Floor 4 and the Surgery floor 2, Jo, repairing me for my surgery! They were outstanding, got to know them on a one to one basis great job team! Most definitely recommend St.David's to anyone!

  • Tommy B

A couple of people on the staff, were rude and, lacked compassion. My Mother who is 74 yrs old, was called a girl, and my Mother is a black Woman. The phlebotomist lacked compassion when my mother told him the rubber tigh around her arm was too tight. He was angered and left the room. I hope no other black people are experiencing this.

  • wanda brown

Thanks to the team who took care of my husband while he was in the hospital they did an excellent job. My only concern is I am concerned about the safety of the staff and patients that come through emergency. There needs to be better security. We all need care however the guards could do a better job of controlling disruptive behavior.

  • Linda Foster

My mother's dementia made her a very difficult patient but the staff treated her with respect and kindness as well kept her safe until she was well enough to be released. We appreciate all the staff but we want to mention the professional sitters that helped with mom during her nightly episodes of sundown syndrome. They were amazing.

  • Aaron Arnold

I arrived early in the morning to have an echocardiogram and was told they may not have had the proper order for it. It turned out they did, however, they could have informed me sooner if they were lacking any written request from my doctor. Other than that, it went very well and the procedure was done quickly and efficiently.

  • Catherine Taylor

When Southwest Airlines canceled my flight to get down there for my appointment… They worked with me to change my appointment times as I was having to drive. Everyone down there was so compassionate for what I had to experience on top of just being ready to get everything done that I needed to the best of thier ability!!!

  • mrgene193

We got started right after a short check in and the team were excellent. I would have had better results if I could have used a stationary bike due to my hip condition walking on the treadmill. But that would only be a suggestion for those who cannot walk for a long period of time. Otherwise, I was an awesome experience.

  • Srini Murthy

If you love your loved ones then avoid this place. Once they discharge you they block you to connect back for any kind of questions, even you leave messages no one reply. You will be left no where. We are trying to contact for pending test results which are crucial for further medications but no one really helping us.

  • Mae Newcombe

I was seen immediately, the nurses and doctors were professional and knew their stuff. they checked in with me regularly, informed me of their findings and then arranged for me to get transferred over to Dell Seton Hospital. It was by far the best ER visit I have ever had, and I've had a few. A very good experience.

  • Ynocencia Guajardo

This hospital is so amazing. The front desk man named Derek is knowledgeable and helpful. He is also super kind! Once I was in a room getting prepped for surgery all the staff were very gender affirming and kind as well. They explained everything so well and made me feel at ease. I def recommend this hospital!

  • Phil Spertus

I have had occasion to use St David's Medical Center / Heart Hospital for many years for a variety of purposes, most recently for Cardiology services. I have invariably received a high quality of treatment from doctors and caregivers at all levels. They maintain a high level of customer care. Phil Spertus

  • Johnny Jasek

Everyone was very nice. They keep me and my wife informed as to what was going to happen next with my surgery. It was a Great group of nurses that took care of me. Dr Landez was awesome . He gave us all the information in term I could understand. He made us feel comfortable during this stressful time

  • Tim Donnelly

I went to the ER at Heart Hospital for chest pains. No wait. I was rushed into the ER, prepped, and stent placed in under 5 hours. The room and FOOD was great. I did not meet anyone who was not friendly and informative. Great place, hope I dont go back but if I do this is where you will find me :>)

  • Steve Farnham

Everything was readily explained and easy to understand. I've had experience with St. David's main and the St. David's Surgical Hospital. When possible, I request my physicians use St. David's facilities. The staff was courteous and efficient. The facilities were clean and well kept. Thank you.

  • Gordon Montgomery

Outstanding service and human kindness! Weirdly, I actually did not want to leave after my operation! From the moment I came in the operation to recovery day and night everything was efficient and wonderful. I accidentally left my little earbuds in the bed and got them back a few days later!

  • Rebecca Wooldridge

I was treated for Shingles and everyone on staff was amazing! Thank you! However, I will need to contact them to update my meds because they are getting ready to run out and I am still in a great deal of pain which has nothing to do with my care! The staff is very professional and thorough!

  • Martha Radford

I have always been satisfied completely whenever I came to the Heart Hospital...easy to locate, for one thing, and everyone very pleasant. Hope that I will be as lucky when I move to Dallas...as I will be doing shortly. Thanks for the care I've had from your staff and best wishes....

  • Edward Lord

I came to have a pacemaker change out and it went very well. Every person in this facility were very professional and friendly. They made you feel very at ease and the whole process was great . Thankyou everyone that helped me through this. You all are fantastic. Thanks again. Ed

  • Chris Sample

The staff at St. David's were very professional. The nurses who tended to me prior to my surgery were pleasant and attentive to my needs. My doctor (Dr. Wiatrek) answered all of my questions and made me at ease before the surgery. Thank you to all of the staff who tended to me.

  • Umoanwan Abia

I went in for a surgery 6/26, right from the filling out the forms, he explained what was meant, to room. My Team, that was handling my case, came in and spoke to me about, and to ALL nurses that I came incontact with, I Say THANK YOU, for your professionalism and everything.

  • KTM OP

Grateful! The nurses at St. David’s are exceptional. Caring, compassionate and fun! I would not have been able to endure staying at the hospital for days without their medical expertise and support! My prayers go out to the medical frontline that more will answer the calling!

  • Leroy Smith (grouseman77)

I've recently spent time with ya'll, on the 4th floor, everyone was so pleasant and helpful. Ive spent time in several other hospitals including MD Anderson and ya'll by far exceeded them. Kudos to the staff ! And your chicken sour cream enchiladas were great ! …

  • Ellie Goneva

Amazing… I can’t thank you enough for helping me through some of the worst moments of my life. Your staff is incredible. Meranda, Hanna, Marlena, Mackenzie, Luke, Chantal, Josselyn, Kelly W for getting me on my feet …Denise , Dr Latorre, Thank you, Ellie ( room 422 )

  • Justin R

It was very clean and everyone was friendly, and the procedure went without a hitch. Being a cash payer I was surprised at how costly the procedure was as the rule of thumb is always paying cash is cheaper than going through insurance. It cost almost twice as much.

  • Ashley Meadows Martin

All our gratitude and thanks to the Labor & Delivery team here!! EVERYONE went above and beyond for us, and made what was a nerve-wracking time for us absolutely beautiful, and took the very best care of us as we delivered, then recovered, with our twins.

  • Jon Salyer

Brought my family member here. We are passing through on a road trip. Staff were great and very timely. Luckily it wasn’t a busy time in the ED, and we are very happy with the care received. Dr Kim was great, as were RNs Brooke and Lucie. Rock stars

  • lucille dominguez

Staff was very nice but some cna were very lazy my sheets weren't changed 4 first 3 days and I was supposed 2 b given a walker due 2 my dizziness and I wasn't. Special shout out t team leader Danielle who was just wonderful and a asset 2 StDavids.

  • danielle bleser

This is the best place to be in Austin if you need emergency medical care. They have the most seasoned and competent doctors in the area. I was transferred here from a smaller ER that could not handle my life threatening emergency, as they

  • Crissa Krikke

The care that my son received while at St. David's was beyond anything that we have ever experienced before. They communicated well during the entire surgery and had all the time to answer questions and concerns that we had after surgery.

  • Linsae Snider

The medical professionals are great! The place is clean. My appointment was on-time. From check-in to procedure the professionals explained everything. Parking is tricky. Consider using the covered parking. It is easier to get in and out.

  • Dez Hernandez

On 6/15/2023 I was scheduled for a labor induction for my baby girl. From the time I checked in to the time I checked out, my stay was absolutely wonderful. I couldn’t have asked for a better staff during my stay. From the nurses to the

This was my first visit to the imaging center plaza. I got to the garage in time and with no problems. The problem for me was finding the right building. Needless to say I was lost. I asked a few people including what to me were nurses.

  • robert peckham

The quality of care was outstanding!! The nurses were very nice and treated me with the upmost respect. It was probably the most enjoyable hospital stay that I’ve ever had! I can’t say enough good things about the care I was provided.

  • Harriet Spieth

I was taken very good care of. I had fallen out of my bed and everything fell on top of me. My arm was trapped under my sidebar From the bed. X-rays were taken and I had no broken bones, just severely bruised. My nurses were awesome..

  • swo

I had great nurses and techs. They were very professional, had great attitudes, and were funny & kind. The room was clean and had a great view. The food was outstanding. Couldn't have asked for a better place to recover from surgery.
