"I am a cemetery nut and for sure I like all the cemetery's in Nola but of the St Louis's this one is the least interesting to me"
"I love old cemeteries, and this is probably one of the best, I have ever been in"
"Кладбище расположено сегодня в черте города - оно ухожено"
"Really cool cemetery like all cemetery in New Orleans, everything is buried above ground in order to prevent them from coming up during big floods"
"It’s really peaceful on a Sunday morning"
I am a cemetery nut and for sure I like all the cemetery's in Nola but of the St Louis's this one is the least interesting to me. It's small but doesn't have much in the way of statues or unusual monuments. The coolest part was the second floor of the mausoleum had a balcony that gave a nice view of the cemetery. The metal statue was also one of the few things in the cemetery that I thought was interesting. This is free to visit and felt safe here and didn't feel it was Necessary to take a tour here. there is a sign saying no driving tours but we sorta ignored that and did a quick drive by. Didn't see much to stop and see but the mausoleum balcony was worth a look .. nice view there.
I love old cemeteries, and this is probably one of the best, I have ever been in. The size of these mausoleums are mind blowing, and they are getting fancier, as time marches on, People have built home size places for their final resting place, and it is a true sight to behold. A former mayor of New Orleans, Morial, is buried there, I believe they named the convention center after him, is marker, is not as spectacular, as some of the other names, you will find in there.
Really cool cemetery like all cemetery in New Orleans, everything is buried above ground in order to prevent them from coming up during big floods. Unfortunately one of the only ones we actually got to go into. Mainly due to the amount of time we had and all the other stuff that we wanted to do. I will say though make sure you at least check out one of the top cemeterys if you are visiting!!!
It’s really peaceful on a Sunday morning. There were a few tour groups going around. I overheard some of the tours and the explanations and stories about the cemetery were pretty great. It’s pretty big so you can easily spend a couple of hours here if you really wanted to! I’d say it’s a nice post-museum activity for a nice stroll!
Such a beautiful historic cemetery, located near New Orleans City Park. The cemetery itself is well maintained and the time of day that I went, there were almost no tourists. Certainly a great place for some beautiful photography. Many will appreciate the craftsmanship put into the stone. So glad that I went to visit.
It was a really nice place to take a walk, very quiet and well-kept grounds. If you are expecting a lot of cool statues, graves, etc. You may need to temper those expectations as this feels more modern and can get repetitive as you walk through. Its free so you can't really complain and is a nice 1-2 hour detour.
Lot of old soul is rested in peace, huge cemeteries. Well organized and maintained. Can be toured only on available hours, need not necessary that you need a guide to tour. Easy accessible and visible from main road as well. It’s a huge area. Takes 1-2 hrs to check till end. Can be accessed with own also.
This Cemetery feels a lot safer than the other locations. Feels a bit more maintained and kept up. It does tend to lose the feel of antiquity. I actually don't mind the seediness of the other cemeteries in Nola. Just be sure of your surroundings, sometimes there are sketchy people around.
Free! Google the free tour online and you can get some insight otherwise you might wonder a bit. Thankful this location is free as the other ones cost quite a lot. Beautiful place to see history and I am thankful for the families that allow us to visit their ancestors.
This was a cool place to visit and see what fancy cemetery looks like. The cemetery is open to the public and does not require a tour. It’s pretty hot during the day and there are no shades. There is street parking available.
Some people are destroying the place by stealing flowers or breaking vases. Obviously there are some who cannot mind their own business and leave other people's stuff alone. They didn't buy it then it's not theirs.
Grave Site above ground. this one is free to view but will coast your life to stay. IJS

Everyone is just dying to get in.... okay cheesy joke aside this place is pretty cool and it's in a nice part of town so I'm not scared to go walk it myself without a tour group like the other cemeteries
My family's here, dating back to early 1800s. Look for the Lafontaine sites from front wall to back crypts. Immortalized in our Cajun hometown forever. They like when the living visit so please do.
Very clean. Awesome architecture! I took all pictures with my Google Pixel 7

Never thought that I would enjoy going to a cemetery, but i kind of enjoyed this one. With all the different types and sizes. It was almost looking for a home.
One of the best maintained cemeteries in New Orleans. Easy to navigate and safe. Not as varied or beautiful as some of the others but definitely worth a visit

It would be nice if they had placards giving more information about the various people buried there. Otherwise, you have to take a tour to get information.
Probably the best of the 3 st Louis cemeteries. Very big and open with lots of graves and mausoleums to look at. Peaceful and quiet. Definitely a must see.
This was a neat place to look around. If you don’t live by water then people are placed in the ground with head stones. This was definitely in experience.
Old lady Skelly spent all her money building this thumb for herself and her dog so her greedy lerch of a daughter would be left with nothing.
Nice cemetery. These types of cemeteries are much different from what I'm used to seeing. This is definitely an experience worth remembering.
Very interesting cemetery, especially for someone who doesn't live in an area that requires above-ground burials

It’s free to enter and you can either stroll through the cemetery by yourself or you can also book a guide. Clean and well maintained.
My family of loved ones who have passed are all buried here. This is a beautiful and serene place. I've visited since childhood.
Beautiful grounds. If you're visiting and would like to see how NOLA pays respect to the dead this is the place to go.
It's 1 of the only cemeteries open to the public. Seeing the different ways tombs were built was very interesting.
Oddly enough, I worked as a groundskeeper/undertaker here in the Summer of 1991. Can anyone say 'Black Album?'
Well worth a tour. Guides are incredible. Some stones are in sad shape but there's an incredible history here.
Looks fascinating... unfortunate that the church does not keep up with it....so much history will be lost...
Peaceful and not busy. Some really old graves. Cool place to walk through when visiting the City Park.
One of the few cemeteries I had the chance to visit. It is relatively peaceful and easy to navigate.
A HEART FULL OF LOVE This cemetery is one of the best and well kept! My wife is there in St Dominic
Peaceful. It was very scary when it's cloudy. All of them are with great history and culture. RIP.
Visited as part of a NOLA city tour. Beautiful cemetery! Very spacious and seems well maintained.
We went as part of the tour. It is rich in history and stories. Definitely worth a visit
It may not have the excitement of the other cemeteries but a cool cemetery nonetheless.
Great and mysterious place to visit, feels like in the movie and near nice city park!
Was nice to explore and see the tombs. Was a nice quiet peaceful cemetery.
Beautiful and sad in equal measure. Go in a group, as it can be dangerous
Very interesting place to visit but I am not yet ready to stay there.
A big cemetery with good staff and a well maintained premises.
Beautiful if I should even say that about a cemetery.
Pretty darn interesting and great photography spot.
Peacefull, well maintained place
Full of history. Gr8 tour.
