"Really good venue"
"Went to this venue for my child's dance competition which clearly states that no outside food or drinks are permitted"
"Attended an evening finals match"
"We went to watch a WNBL game last night and they stopped people coming in with the introduction of the basketball players, however, allowed them to walk in during the welcome to country, which was extremely disruptive and disrespectful, having hoards of people walking in and talking during"
"Courts 5 and 6 very dark tonight"
Really good venue. Was there for the WNBL championship final between Townsville Fire and Southside Flyers. Pretty much a full house. View was good from where I was sitting. It was a little bit tricky finding my seats...I think signage for seating sections could be better. The other bug-bear is leaving the car park - there is only one exit so thousands of cars leaving through one exit at the same time...not great!! Currently the venue is under significant expansion so hopefully this is rectified
Went to this venue for my child's dance competition which clearly states that no outside food or drinks are permitted. The problem with that is the only gluten free items available are biscuits which taste like cardboard...the only accessible access to toilets are inside the venue...so if you haven't purchased an entry ticket....make sure you can hold your liquids like a Camel! There is very little areas outside with shelter to wait. Not my favourite venue at all!
Attended an evening finals match. Seems like a fantastic facility, if a little noisy inside for my liking. I guess that's "atmosphere". Spare parking away from the road entrance, but I learned later why people were parking all over the place - absolutely horrible to get out of. It took half an hour to reach the gate. Hat off to all the other trapped people who patiently took turns to let people merge into the jam.
We went to watch a WNBL game last night and they stopped people coming in with the introduction of the basketball players, however, allowed them to walk in during the welcome to country, which was extremely disruptive and disrespectful, having hoards of people walking in and talking during. It was disappointing and it took away from the great game and all the great updates to the venue.
Courts 5 and 6 very dark tonight. Court 4 by contrast very well lit. When i asked why these courts were so dark, Staff informed me lights were 'broken' but would be fixed 'eventually'. Saw 3 boys games in a row played on court 4 with standard lighting, all girls games played on the very dimly lit courts. Another show of blatant bias by Knox Basketball Associations.
Dusty courts for Wednesday and Thursday night basketball every week for years now. Probably almost always dusty if you wanna play here. Its alright on a Friday night and sometimes ok on the show court. But they really need to start cleaning it given the absurd fees they charge for domestic competition.
The day we went was “finals” for all the various grades. Very busy as you would expect. Trying to find a car park was a trial but no surprise under the circumstances. The facilities were pretty good considering the amount of people there. Even the “obligatory” junk food wasn’t too bad.
Good clean venue. George Street gets quite busy at the end of game times so sometimes it's easier to park at the back side of the stadium. Undergoing extension works at the moment which will more than double the number of courts. Great having a facility like this so easy to access.
The state basketball centre is one of the largest indoor basketball courts I've ever been to. The staff are always friendly and helpful. They have a small shop for Raiders gear and available for casual shooting during certain times. Refs are questionable at times.
Have attended both NBL and nbl1 games at this venue. My son is in a wheelchair and they are always very accommodating. Access is really good with accessible parking right out front of the venue. There has been a cafe open when I have attended these games.
South East Melbourne Phoenix and all their volunteers put on a great night out!! stadium staff were well organised, managed parking as best they could and had some ok meal choices to select from if you wanted to eat there. Certainly would go back!
The venue itself is OK but exiting the carpark is an absolute nightmare. Something needs to change. Public transport is non-existent. The café provided very quick service, but unfortunately the potato cakes were barely edible.
Great stadium to view basketball. However public transport to the venue is rubbish. Parking space insufficient for the demand. Access on and out of stadium is very badly designed.
Such a great venue for our local community and really great place to watch Melbourne Deakin Boomers. Only downside is parking which really needs to be expanded
Cheap entry, reasonably priced food/drink. NBL1 Raiders game is good fun for the kids...bring your ball and play on the back courts during the game
Floors been dangerously dusty. Had a friend break his ankle, looking into it but I'm pretty sure that's grounds for legal action
First time there and very good venue. Parking is limited for NBL crowds, overflow at city life church other side of highway
Only fault is one right hand turning lane onto High st rd ♂️ otherwise great venue for the greatest sport …
It's where your BB dream's can start, or just have fun. Easy to get too, plenty of parking, a great facilty.
Car parking is tough at the moment due to the construction hopefully it finishes soon arrive 10 min earlier
Huge crowd for the NBL1south Grand finals. Well run and the atmosphere was electric. Close match.
Parking can be an issue if busy, but good venue with food truck put front plus canteen inside
Great venue spoiled by poor lighting on 5 and 6. Dissappointing for a State centre !!
Incredible stadium and amazing facilities, including work spaces, chargers and Cafe
This is a great venue, I've been here a few times and it's always good.
Great facilities, that will be even better after the renovations.
Toilets dirty and scorebenches could do with a clean also..
Great stadium be even better when the new extension is open
Great stadium can't wait for the rest of CRTs to be built
