If I could put a 0-star review, I would. Update: Following this review the owner called me from a private number, threatening to sue me in court if I do not remove this review. This is unacceptable behaviour for any business. According to Article 19, I have the freedom of speech. I am still struggling to put into words the distressing and mentally abusive first encounter I had at Stittsville Kanata Veterinary Hospital. I left shaken up, stressed and felt abused mentally. Not to mention humiliated in front of other customers. The level of disrespect and lack of professionalism I encountered was absolutely appalling. I have been to many other veterinarians before and never experienced such horrible service in my lifetime. I called in and was given an appointment for non-emergency. The issue was clarified to not be of urgent care. When I got the bill, I was horrified to see a higher charge for an "emergency visit." When I confronted them about it, I was met with patronizing remarks suggesting that I was wrong for not understanding their "unusual" form system. They had the audacity to try and charge me extra for them, not explaining things clearly to their potential clients on the phone! or even in person. They also managed to treat me like a clueless child, despite the fact that I am a grown adult and, more importantly, the paying client. From the get-go, the manager behavior was belittling and condescending. Instead of addressing me as the client and acknowledging my concerns, she repeatedly asked to speak with my parents once confronted, as if I couldn't possibly handle the situation on my own as a grown adult 20+. This level of disrespect and disregard for my autonomy was downright infuriating. I may be an immigrant, but I deserve to be treated with respect just like any other customer and not discriminated against. The way they attempted to upsell various unnecessary tests and treatments was beyond frustrating. It was clear that their primary goal was to extract as much money from me as possible, rather than actually caring for my pet's well-being. The prices they quoted for these additional services were so outrageous that I couldn't help but feel like I was being scammed. I was given an "optional" and yet extremely expensive invoice just to confirm a small issue. I was told that we have to do all those random tests just because, why not? My pet did not have any serious symptoms enough to warrant such a barrage of a bill. Not only did this place display an utter lack of professionalism with their vet barely checking my pet while constantly tending to other customers instead during my appointment time, suggesting how unimportant I and my pet are to them. Even timing my pet care to a one week max "free consultation", not allowing my pet time enough time to heal and be watched by a professional. As the one footing the bill for their services, I expected to be treated with at least a modicum of respect. However, it was quite the opposite. The manager seemed to intentionally ignore me, brushing off my questions and concerns, and making me feel like my presence was an inconvenience to her. The manager was constantly telling me that I was wrong and "do not understand" even though I made myself very clear. In conclusion, my encounter was nothing short of a disaster. Their manager rude behavior and condescending attitude, awful vet service, and insatiable greed make them a prime example of what a veterinary clinic should never be. Save yourself the headache and heartache by seeking care for your pets elsewhere. I will never set foot in this pet hospital ever again. Their comment on this honest review does more than prove their disrespectful behavior towards their clients. Badmouthing clients is all they do in their clinic as well as lying. I paid for everything, and my pet was in distress only from the long wait for their bad lack of service. Mentally attacking clients with the help of friends does not look right for a valid business. They lost a customer, and hopefully, you will not suffer the same fate as I did.
Had the weirdest experience at this clinic. Brought in my dog after our clinic's regular hours, because he half ripped out one of his thumb nails while running around. Was seen by the oddest, most passive aggressive doctor (Jay Mengi), who lectured us while refusing to look at me, only making eye contact with my husband. His problem, which had to be coaxed out of him, was the fact that I mentioned that this happened to the dog previously, and that the course of action from my regular vet was very different - while at the same time not at all disagreeing with what this vet was saying should be the way to proceed. After literally this one sentence, a simple statement of fact, the guy seemed to lose all grasp on reality. My husband and I are both calm, balanced professionals, and we very much behaved accordingly the whole time, as we always do because we are normal people - yet we were made to feel like we are some unhinged psychopaths putting this man in danger. We also had to keep bringing the conversation back to the dog and the issue at hand, as opposed to having the vet go on and on about how stressful his job is, and how awful so many of his previous clients have been to him. And then there are their outrageous prices. We were quoted just under $1500 for the procedure that we were told would take approximately an hour and a half, and included full sedation. When the vet verbally quoted some costs before the official estimate, they totalled at less than half of that cost. Our regular vet dealt with the same issue for under $300 a year ago with only a local anaesthetic, so we left with just medication and the pleasure of being weirdly lectured to, all for a cool $350 - which was charged despite the fact that the vet repeatedly told us, entirely on his own initiative, that he will wave the consultation fees. This was Friday night at 6pm, btw - not 2 am on a weekend. When I took my grandmother's dog to the VCA last year, had numerous tests done, and left the dog at the clinic overnight, the grand total for the bill came to about $1200. The one star is for the perfectly lovely, helpful and normal vet tech. She is the only saving grace that we came across during this odd little experience. I recommend taking your pets elsewhere if you can. Reply to the clinic (which posted, and then deleted their incredibly rude response): 1. What a weird, passive aggressive remark about publicizing my name. 2. Stop lying. I didn't 'ask' for anything - I described what was done in the same situation at our own clinic a year ago, following it up with 'I am not a vet, so I absolutely have no judgement calls about what's right or wrong in this situation.' You are now accusing our regular, perfectly fine vet of malpractice, despite the fact that she followed the guidelines. Here is what the relevant section of the VCA Canada says: "The damaged or broken part of the nail needs to be carefully removed. This procedure is often painful but can be accomplished quickly and often requires no sedation; however, depending on the degree of pain and where the break is, sedation and/or numbing the area with a nerve block may be required." If you would have bothered to actually examine the dog's paw, you at least might have been able to make a specific case. As it stands, you barely glanced at him. 3. I didn't ask for anyone to accomodate anything. I made an appointment with a business, during regular hours. 4. Stop with the 'poor-shaming' - I thought I detected a whiff of that yesterday. Your response now made it abundantly clear. While we can perfectly well afford our pets' care, there are many people who aren't in the same situation. Just an FYI, at the moment, that's about half of the Canadian population. Your behaviour and lack of compassion for that possibility is repugnant. 5. As you were told, our vet closes at 4, which is why we had the misfortune of ending up with you. Again, stop lying, and conduct yourself professionally. UPDATE: got everything done at our regular vet, for a fraction of the cost, and infinitely better care.
Let me begin by saying that this is the first negative review that I have submitted. I believe that all businesses and people have “off days” from time to time and I always take that into consideration before sharing feedback. Especially negative feedback. I wanted to wait some time before writing this review in order for the review to be logical and not emotional. This review is not a reflection of the supporting staff but it is directed at the owner(s)/management and the physical establishment itself. My wife and I had been using Stittsville Kanata Vetrinary Hospital for a few years. It was mostly for vaccinations, prescriptions and for when our dog was not feeling well. In this case, we brought our senior dog (16 years) to the vet to get an assessment on his general health. Naturally, at his age, he was starting to have mobility and cognitive issues. We have had many pets over the last 5 decades so we knew the end was near. The vet examined our dog and we agreed that it was time to say goodbye. It’s always heartbreaking to go through this process but after 5 decades of adopting animals, we were no stranger to the process. We were left in the examining room to say goodbye to our pup. It took forever for someone to come back to the point where I had to track someone down and ask them to please proceed with the euthanasia as the dog was very frightened and shaking. It was also very hard for my wife and I. Someone finally came and gave our dog a tranquilizer (hydro) and then left. The dog started throwing up and feeling very I’ll. We unfortunately have been through this process many times and this has never happened. We were not warned that this may happen. Once again, we were left waiting and waiting while our poor dog suffered. We were cleaning him and the floor as we waited. I went to try and find someone to make sure the dog wasn’t suffering. An assistant came and said that it was normal. I have never seen this in 50 years of pet ownership. She said the vet would be in shortly. I asked that they please hurry. I then asked where the washroom was and was told there was no washroom and I had to go 4 doors down to a Subway! I ran down the strip mall to the Subway as I had left my wife with our dog and I needed to be with her before the final injection was made. I bought a drink at Subway as I felt awkward just using their bathroom and running out. By the time I returned, there was still no vet in sight. I went out and tracked down the vet and told him this has to be done now, right now as the dog as well as my wife were extremely anxious. He euthanized our pet and that was it. We had to pay before the euthanasia and we were shown an invoice of $770.00 with tax. This was just for the euthanasia, no other pet service whatsoever. I knew it was way, way too expensive as my daughter just went through this a week ago somewhere else. A simple Google search confirmed it after we left the vet. What was I suppose to do? Argue about he cost as my dog lay there suffering and my wife was in tears? Terrible, absolutely terrible. It’s never easy saying goodbye to a pet that meant so much to our family which is why I waited before writing this feedback. It was the worst experience we have ever gone through when dealing with saying goodbye to a pet. Knowing that the dog didn’t go peacefully is the worst part. As far as the vet, he was kind and respectful. Management however needs to address the lack of washrooms for patients and staff. It’s unacceptable to ask grieving pet owners to run to a Subway while they are saying goodbye to their pets.
It is with sadness I leave this review but feel it necessary to voice my experience for the sake of my dog and other owners. From Sept 1st - Oct 1st Dr. Mengi prescribed by 9+ year old dog antibiotics, at two 2-week interval periods which included a follow up in-between. The cost of this was approx $700 with the possibility of surgery costing another $1k-$1.5k afterwards. Something didn't sit well with me however as his condition continued to worsened over time, and as such took my dog to his old vet for a second opinion at the end of the 30 day treatment. As it turns out he had a simple case of yeast in his ear. Which a two-week course of ear drops fixed (not the antibiotics). To my surprise in comparing the two vets, Dr. Mengi's treatment & diagnosis was irresponsible. His methodology: he simply lifted the flap of his ear, squinted his eyes and from a distance of about 30cm away misdiagnosed my dog (5 min tops). And then spent the next 15-20 min talking about surgery later on and the costs involved. The other vet however, looked through it thoroughly with an ear magnifier, removed some of the wax, looked at the sample with a microscope and spent between 30-45 min checking and rechecking prior to her diagnosis. Needless to say I will not be visiting SKVH any further despite the excellent staff they have, whose service and care is in some instances exemplary. I only wish their vet was half as good as they are. I provided Dr. Mengi a voice to talk as I wanted to hear from him prior to this review but he never contacted me back. No description or explanation for such a poor misdiagnosis. It's a shame really as they were the closest vet to me. Quality treatment and proximity are not always mutually inclusive. Oh well... Edit: So Dr. Mengi replied, and in it he blames my "anxious" dog, blames me and even COVID for his inability to be accountable for his wrong diagnosis. That is both rather unprofessional and unfortunate as I provided him the ability to get back to me for two weeks prior to writing this review. Proof that he cares less about his customers and more about his image. Mengi should have looked in my dog's ear properly and examined the yeast under a microscope. He didn't. And he should have paid more care and attention to the age of my dog before making excuses for sedation. Both of which were not necessary as evidenced by the other vet who was able to diagnose him properly. There are a few accusations he made on my dog and my character which must be corrected. Firstly, my dog's temperament has been excellent and in the 9+ years with those that have handled him well. Mengi also says he feels bad for my dog and wishes he had a better owner. Yes, that is true, a better owner who cared so much about his well-being that I drove from Ottawa to Montreal to get him checked out properly and treated by a capable vet. Mengi is a liar and false accuser. He distorts reality to suite his version of a poor memory. His reply is evidence that points to him making a basic mistake, and his inability to recognize it. At the end he tries to take back some form of control in the matter by saying "we are terminating your services with us". Are these traits of narcissism? Because of all the lies and accusations in your reply I shall make a formal complaint with the Ontario Veterinary Medical Association re your professionalism and put in a motion to have your equivalency reviewed.
My partner and I had a really terrible experience at the SKVH just this morning. Our two dogs got into a porcupine and had quills in their mouth that we could not remove without help. Being a Sunday morning, our local vet was not an option and we called around the Ottawa area to find an emergency clinic that could help. None of the 24/7 hospitals could take us as they were already backed up, but we were told to wait until 8am and try SKVH, which we did. I must have been one of their first calls of the day as they told us they could get us in at 930am, so we left immediately as we live over an hour away. Upon our arrival we were put in a treatment room where there were someone else's vet records on the shelf and what appeared to be used needles. This was our first red flag. The next red flag was all of the signage around the room about why they take deposits prior to treatment and why they don't accept certain forms of payment, as well as how fair their rates are and how ethical they are. We waited for the vet to arrive to check our dogs. He spent approximately 5-10minutes in the room, where he told us that they had cleared the remainder of the day for both surgeries. He then checked both dogs heart rates and went to make us an estimate for the removals. We felt slightly uncomfortable because he had just told us they had cleared the day, but patients continued to come in and be taken into exam rooms across the hall. It felt like they were trying to get as much business in before us as possible. They quoted us a total of $4100 between the two dogs. $1999 for one and $2100 for the other. Why one was $100 more than the other seemed odd, as you can see in their records they are very similar in weight, only 1kg difference between the two. They also had quills in the same area of the mouth. We were baffled at the estimates and felt that we were getting robbed because of our desperate situation. We considered our options and decided to ask for pain medication for both dogs only and leave it at that. We would remove as many quills as we could ourselves and take them in to our local vet first thing Monday morning. Upon checking out, we were met with a $600 bill. They charged us $75 for a weeks worth of meloxicam for each dog and $195 for each "consultation" which was 5-10minutes of the vet's time. In summary, for $600 we received no advice on any other options and were sent home with meloxicam for each dog which we later learned from another vet wouldn't necessarily even help. For added context, our local vet has provided us emergency services in the past where our dog was sedated, stitched up, monitored at the clinic for a full day and we were sent home with pain and anti-inflammatory medication for a total of $700. I feel that customers should be aware of this experience because had we known ahead of time, we would not have driven an hour and a half each way just to be taken advantage of.
We had a bad experience with this clinic. My kittens got sick and we have addressed to the clinic right away. After 2 hours of waiting they prescribed antibiotics and sent us home. We didn’t get any recommendation from the doctor, he didn’t tell us how the illness was called, etc. No follow up the next day! They don’t call their patients to learn how the thing are going like other clinics do. Later our situation was getting worse and I called them seeking for an advice. They didn’t call me back! In two days, we realized that the treatment didn’t work and kittens were very miserable and sick. I sent them pictures and they prescribed another antibiotic. It hasn’t worked neither. Long story short, in 6 days my kittens were almost dying. I sent them another email with pictures asking help and they didn’t reply me! I had to call them and all they could tell me was: Go to the hospital as we don’t know what else to do! We paid them over $700, but what was the most important we lost time that leaded a fatal outcome for two kittens. Unfortunately, I cannot reply to your comment below, so I’m adding notes here: 1) Not true. First time I called after consultation, you promised to call me back and never did. I had to call you back 4 hours later and you said that you were very busy. On Tuesday I sent you an email with pictures attached 8 am (and you again never called me back. I called you at 10.30 am and then you sent me to the hospital. 3) Yes, we came at 2.30 pm and left two hours later. 6) Not true. We got the second antibiotic on Saturday and you were closed Sunday and Monday. Tuesday morning, I sent you an email, you didn’t reply to it. And after I called you, as I mentioned above you sent me to the hospital. 7) No, not only drops! They gave us recommendations: to keep the room humidified, how to feed kittens, etc. which is extremely important. That’s why three kittens who got sick later are better now. You gave us antibiotic only. I know, that you cannot guarantee 100% treatment, but in my opinion that you could do better if: -give the name of disease and more information, recommendations, and not just antibiotics; -do not ignore emails and calls; -follow up critically ill patients.
Our tabby Diana needed care and SVHK and Dr. Mengi were humane, did all that they could do for our girl. The SKVH team fought the cascade of threats that appeared beyond the serious initial issue and that we, with a lot of animal experience, had no prior awareness of. Our furry girl did not survive (there are cases where no vet in the world can save a direly ill animal), but we fault neither the SKVH team's work in the surgery nor the Boyd hospital's vets and their staff. All involved went flat out to save our girl during the eight days of her battle, but in the long run, an unknown severe anemia and a prior undetectable heart defect led very rapidly to her situation spiraling down to the point where only one option was possible - giving our girl her final rest so that her suffering would abate. We will miss our girl and our hearts are broken. We are still thankful to SKVH staff and we appreciate Dr. Mengi's dedication, kindness and compassion. Not every battle can be won. Every vet loses patients and in many cases, because there was not enough medical help in all the world to save a critical health concern that manifest additional horrific complicating events. We are a family of dogs and cats from our earliest days, from the youngest of us to the elders of four score and more years. We've lost animals to age, to health issues, to accident, and by complications compounding in dealing with a single critical threat. SKVH's staff did all they could be asked to and Dr. Mengi went further in his compassionate response than most. No vet can gaurantee a happy ending. What they can do is give your animal a fighting chance with the best veterinary knowledge and with a supporting team who all care that your beloved pet gets every chance. Thank God for veterinarians and their teams. And we are grateful for every effort made on our Diana's behalf.
They would have killed my dog!! I would have given 0 stars if I could. We brought our little girl in (5 yr old Yorkie) after she had been vomiting excessively for the previous day. When we brought her in, she was alert, walking and drinking water. 5 hrs later Dr Mengi called my wife (she was on speaker phone) to say he “thinks” she had a blockage in her stomach but she is not stable and they close at 6 so he would be sending her home at the end of the day even if they had not defined her issue. When I asked how she could be sent home if she wasn’t stable and Dr Mengi immediately got very angry and barked “I’m not a car salesmen”. We were completely taken aback and tried to de-escalate the very confusing situation. Dr Mengi got even more angry when we tried to ask further questions about our little girls condition. He then said he can predict “this going badly” and didn’t want to deal with it so we were to come in immediately and take our dog. When we arrived he wanted us to sign a document saying we were taking our dog against his advice which we refused. When we picked her up she was at deaths doorstep, nearly unresponsive, completely limp and could only open one eye. We had to race to the Ottawa Animal Emergency hospital and thought we lost her twice along the way. She is in the Ottawa Animal Emerg now and we are praying and hoping she can be saved. It turns out Dr Mengi did not even give her an IV saying he couldn’t find a vein and I am sure he was delaying things to jack our bill up knowing full well he didn’t have the knowledge or ability to treat her. With that said, Sarah, the vet tech was very kind, considerate and compassionate. She was the clinics only saving grace. DO NOT BRING AN ANIMAL TO THIS PLACE!!!!!
The Vet at SKVH did a physical exam and found nothing. I spent $2,340 at this very unorganized veterinary clinic. They released my cat saying that whatever had beem causing the problem must have past through. (I was so happy that my cat was o.k. that I didn't mind spending the money!) In my opinion, the vet that ran the tests on my cat should not be a doctor of any type. After my cat was realeased, with nothing found with over $2000 spent at this clinc. When my cat continued to vomit etc. I contacted the SKVH to ask if they can recheck the scans to see if maybe they might see something that they had missed. They told me that if I wanted anything else, i would have to go back in to see them. I asked if I coukd have any kind of discount and was told "that they don't do that" A few days later the SKVH office manager contacted me to offer me a free consultation if I take this review down. I said NO I then took Whiskers to a better educated vet and after doing a physical exam, felt a mass in my cat's abdomen. The vet at VCA did the appropriate tests which unfortunately revealed that my cat had lymphosarcoma which had metastasized in other places. It was a shock, because only a week before he had been given a clean bill of health from the vet at SKVH. Please, Don't EVER take your pet to Stittsville Kanata Veterinary Hospital! They only want your money! (In my opinion!) Even in an emergency, take your pet to one of the Hospitals please?
On Friday June 10 I called to make an emergency appointment for my Golden Retriever. I was advised that the cost of the apt was $125+tx to be paid upfront by credit card. I would get a link to do an intake form and make payment. Said link was received. I completed the intake and made my payment all as requested. The next morning I deliver my pet to the clinic right on her apt time of 9 am. When I return to my vehicle I have received a text at 9:08 Hello, just letting you know that the consultation fee for Saturdays is $175, sorry for any confusion. We will still apply your payment of $125 towards the appointment. I was charged 40% more for the privilege of my pet being seen on a Saturday and I was advised after my pet was inside. Emergency care for our pets is an essential service. This is just wrong. It’s not about the extra money I had to pay. Had I been quoted the correct price initially, I still would have paid it…because I had to. It is about the perception of gouging vulnerable people at an emotional time. It is beyond me how the cost of providing the same care could possibly be 40% more on a Saturday than a Tuesday. How do we make this stop. Veterinarian services have started to look like a scam. I once had to take my pet to the emergency hospital on Boyd Ave in Ottawa. They were wonderful. If you have the choice I would recommend them. Sadly, we don’t often have the choice and that leaves us vulnerable to this.
Initially came this this vet over a year ago as an emergency with a small dog who was in extreme distress. This was the middle of COVID where I wasn’t able to join my dog for his exam. From the moment I got off the phone to dropping my dog off at the door, I was treated only with extreme compassion and patience. They had let me know he had a blockage in his intestines and things were not looking good. We received a complete run down of options and possible outcomes. Our little guy pulled through surgery and the blockage ended up being a skull and cross bow from an L.O.L. Doll accessory. He wasn’t completely out of the dark until we saw how he . We were able to take him home for the night and return him to the vet in the morning for monitoring. He made a full recovery and I’ve been singing this clinics praises since. We had to bring our little guy in again today because he’s been stumbling and having a hard time holding himself up. I really thought this was it this time. Again when I called this morning, I was met with kindness and able to bring our dog in within hours. He was treated with compassion and given immediate pain relief and a plan of action. My only regret is not meeting this clinic earlier in our dogs life.
We are very pleased with SKVH. We have been using them for almost a year for two senior dogs. There are many pros, but some specific positives: 1) you can do your appointment requests through text and email. Fill out your intake form online and you’re good to go (note that the prices are clearly there, so not sure why ppl complain about the premium for a weekend emergency vet visit). 2) you can get your dog’s X-rays, blood work, etc all through text and email. Again SUPER efficient. As we travel with our dogs often, it is so nice to have these records on hand as needed. 3) the vet is very kind to our dogs. In fact, the entire team is very kind. They remember you and your dog. It’s a nice touch. 4) They’re thorough and genuinely seem to care about our dogs. They will even tell us when certain costs are not required, saving us money. I will say the vet is not cheap, but I am not price-comparing when looking for a Dr for my beloved fur family members. Dogs unfortunately aren’t cheap, but worth it. It may be a bit more expensive than other vet offices, but their attention to detail and the breadth of their analyses and treatment plans more than justifies it for us. I strongly suggest SKVH.
We visited SKVH for a second time in two years with an emergency with our cat. The team is absolutely amazing and caring and ensures to provide you with detailed treatment plan. The vet explains every step in plain language. You have access to the them via text which is amazing and such a peace of mind! You can call/text with any questions and they also check in to see how your pet is doing. Although, we did not get a definitive answer at SKVH during our last visit and were referred to another hospital (with their help - when we arrived at the other hospital, they were expecting us and already had everything they needed!), they have been in touch every day since and have been asking about our pet's health. During the times that emotions run high and people are extremely worried and anxious about the health of their furry family members, SKVH really knows how to provide reassurance, care, compassion, and empathy. We really appreciate all you do and do hope to not have to see you again with any emergency but to just come say hi and thank you! :)
They were great to deal wth for the basic check up, but unfortunately we had a horrendous experience with how my dog came out of basic surgery, and the follow up thereafter. I was made to feel like an over anxious pet owner, even though I had multiple friends telling me something wasn't right. Had to get it resolved by emergency surgery at another hospital. Cost me thousands of dollars which this clinic refused to cover unless I could get the new vet to put in writing that it was first vet's fault. Unfortunately, Vet's cover each other. The new place, very carefully, implied things, but would not put anything in writing to help me recoup the extra costs. The biggest issue is that my dog had to suffer tremendously after the first surgery and then go through a second, more invasive surgery and even longer recuperation time. He is a different dog now after going through all that. The good thing is that the new hospital I took him to took great care of him and the recovery went fine. I will never go back to this clinic.
By far the best service and greatest staff I have ever received and experienced at any veterinary clinic or hospital. Simply amazing wow! My dog had an ear infection and hotspots due to allergies which have gotten really bad in the last few days. My vet couldn’t see him; didn’t have room until one month. I called 17 clinics to try and get an emergency appointment with no success, either full, don’t accept new patients, don’t accept emergency appointment. I called this clinic at 9:00AM and was able to secure an appointment the same day at 1:20PM. I was able to get the proper care and medicine/treatment my dog needed. The vet and the staff were so nice and friendly but also took their time with my dog and with me; I did not feel rushed for the next client like most clinics. They even send you a text to check on your pet afterwards. Which veterinary clinic does that? none! This is the first one and only one that I know. I’m simply amazed and so happy to have discovered this new clinic.
Just moved to the area and inquired about bringing my cat to this hospital. I choose to elsewhere after reading the reviews. Reviews are clearly mostly great since they have 4.6 rating, and the negative reviews are really just arbitrary complaints and money disagreements which happens at every clinic. Wouldn't have thought twice about going here if it weren't for the the clinics responses to each negative review. The manager was antagonizing, accusatory, and extremely unprofessional. If this is how the clinic handles conflict resolution I don't want to be a client because conflicts and misunderstandings happen to everyone so I want to go somewhere I can trust will work with me to resolve it instead. Aside from that text response time was poor for a clinic that only offers text communication, but being new to the area I don’t know the vet:pet ratio and if that’s to be expected from every hospital.
Went to the vet emergency (during covid) and did not know about having to call ahead of time, but they were super nice about it and were able to take a look at my pet right away. We were in there for about 2 hours and it was definitely worth it. The wait was understandable since we came during their other scheduled appointments. Me and my significant other felt very happy with the service and how they treated our pet with care and answered many of our repeating questions. In the end we were unable to find 2 medications for our pet (at pharmacies and pet store) but the next day when they opened they were super responsive and helped right away even though we are not regulars at that vet clinic! In my opinion they went above and beyond for our little Hazelnut. Will definitely be going back for our other 4 pets! Thank you again to those at the clinic, your work does not go unnoticed
My senior dog had an extremely large lump that was really concerning me. Due to covid, I had to wait over a month at her “city vet” to even have it looked at. It became a bleeding mass and I had to have an emergency appointment costing several hundred dollars to leave with nothing butan antibiotic and told an operation was a three week wait. Her condition was considered urgent but not immediately fatal The bleeding and pain worsened. I somehow randomly called this hospital as my dog needed help! The empathy shown was amazing. She was seen immediately and had the large vascular bleeding lump removed. I can’t say enough about how grateful I was to finally have this nightmare over. Thank you to everyone... the doctor and vet tech who stayed late and showed amazing compassion for my dog and her situation. Highly recommend this animal hospital in every way
My dog suffered from a non healing corneal ulcer and I am glad that I brought her to this clinic for treatment. With SKVH, We got a next day appointment right away compared to 6 weeks that my dog's original vet is offering despite the urgency of the case. And the fee was almost the same! They showed nothing but compassion and care for my beloved dog! Dr. Jay, together with his team, is definitely one if the best out there. You can really feel that they are after the welfare of your pet more than anything else. Piper has now fully recovered from her enucleation surgery. I am grateful that she has given another chance for a comfortable, pain free senior life. My forever gratitude to Dr. Jay and his team!
You came highly recommended by friends peter and Gail Cunningham. After my vet of the last 30 years gave me an appointment on Friday 17th November, for Wednesday 22nd November, for Buster, I couldn't stand seeing him pain, so called you and you saw him in 2 hours! Three days later, the antibiotics have kicked in and old Buster is eating like a horse, drinking and his happy old self again. Needless to say, I will not be going to my old vet in Stittsville, who have now been absorbed into the VCA organization...........a sad state of affairs. Thank you for your wonderful caring and efficient service, don't take it wrongly if I say I hope we don't see each other soon!
We had taken our 5 month Yorkie puppy to the hospital as we need a doctor's opinion . Our regular vet hospital was closed and we needed to check at an emergency on a Sunday. We found Dr Asif to be kind and gentle with our puppy. He also educated us on what is liver shunt - i remember him drawing the internal system of a canine body to show what liver shunt really meant. I found the receptionist to be engaging and really cared . Overall, our first experience has been great - I also got a text message from the hospital to enquire how our puppy was doing - This is unheard of as my regular Vet does not follow up - may be I should change the vet hospital i go to
I called to get a bag of cat food and the receptionist told me it was "illegal" to sell royal canin cat food without a prescription. After calling around I found out that is not the case. It seems like the owner just does not want to deal with non customers which is fine aside from choosing to claim it's illegal. I've been buying this food for years without a prescription. Turns out you can literally order it online through myvetstore. Update: The "manager" never called. I never asked for kidney or liver food. Just the standard adult cat food with the S/O index. Attached is a picture of the food I ordered from myvetstore, may I add without a prescription.
I must say that I was very impressed with the clinic. After I called all the veterinary clinics in the area and was refused everywhere, they saw us the same day. I am impressed by their effectiveness and meticulousness and how much they care about their patients. I was informed by phone (I was outside, unable to enter due to covid) about my situation with my cat. The doctor took the time to call me to inform me of his situation and needed tests, and then to reconnect with the diagnosis and treatment plan. All the staff I dealt with were very friendly and nice. The clinic is not closest to my home, but it will be my new clinic. Very happy with this place!
These people are Angels !!! They accepted seeing my dog within hours without hesitation when then heard how sick he was. I am impressed about how efficient and meticulous they are and how much they care about their patients. I was keep informed by phone (was outside couldn't go in because of covid) of his situation. The Dr took the time to call me to inform me of his situation and tests needed, then again with diagnosis and treatment plan. The entire staff I dealt with were so friendly and kind. I am a two hour drive from Kanata but I can assure you that I have now found my new Vet !!! "Chevy" and I can't thank you all enough !!!
I could never find the words to express my appreciation for the team at Stittsville-Kanata Vet. Without all the nitty-gritty details, what I can say is this team cared so much about our cat and truly went above and beyond for his care. Every single person at this office who we interacted with was compassionate, professional, and informative. Having an ill animal is such a stressful experience and is a piece of relief when you know your animal is being cared for and thought of. From my own experience , they were incredibly considerate of my specific circumstances and I felt so thankful that I had opted to take my sick animal here.
I am incredibly grateful for the kind and empathic treatment received from Dr. J and the lovely team at SKVH. There was an emergency with our 2-year old bulldog mix, and the team took us in without question (as a new patient) and provided a comprehensive treatment plan. They rescheduled their day to accommodate the emergency surgery (we are so grateful!) and provided incredible follow-up treatment, check-in emails, and phone calls to make sure things were on the right track. I am so happy we found our new vet care with Dr. J and the awesome team at SKVH. Very above and beyond!
Our dog has been having seizures and our regular vet just kept giving us different medication which was doing nothing to stop her seizures but were making her lethargic and fat. Dr. J listening quite intensively and was very sympathetic towards our problem. He disagreed with some of the medication she was on and we are weening her off them and going another route to give her some spunk and lose some weight. Hopefully this will give her a better quality of life. We were very impressed with Barb his sssisstant also. I will report back once we start the new medical process Jim
I was very grateful for this vet clinic to see my cat at such a short notice. My regular vet was closed and not opened until Monday. Lola animal hospital would see him but with many hours wait time. After reading some of the reviews, i agree, the cost was high, but I chose to go now and not wait until Monday. I dont believe they gouged me, just after hours service. Everyone was extremely nice and helpful and my little guy is back home and seems to be doing better. So in the end, I'm grateful for their service. Thank you for being available after most vet hours.
I was extremely happy with our emergency visit to the SKVK. The veterinarian was extremely kind, thorough and knowledgable. Tests were done promptly and explained to me in detail. He also made an effort to postpone the most expensive tests until needed. (which they turned out not to be) which was appreciated. All staff were very helpful as well. Although we came from a distance I am considering whether we should switch to this hospital for the routine care of our two dogs, as our regular animal hospital can no longer make room even for emergencies.
After the pandemic & the surge of new pet owners it was difficult to find a trustworthy Vet in the Ottawa area, but after bringing my pup to SKVH I cannot say enough good things about their services. Their entire staff was caring & compassionate. Dr. Mengi took the time to sit down and explain to me my dog’s situation and did not try to push any extra services or upsell any medications, which has been done to me many times before at other clinics. Within 24 hours my dog’s issue had been solved. Grateful for everybody at SKVH, keep up the good work!
Dr Jay Mengey, Ruby and the entire team are excellent. My Elsa was almost dead but they empathized, gave her correct medication and had a very humanitarian approach towards Elsa and me. One of the best vet clinics, I have ever come across. Ruby, your empathy and Dr Mengeys care towards Elsa revived Elsa and me. Thank you so much. I recommend this vet clinic to anyone and everyone for whom pets are kids. I cannot thank you and your team enough. The way you keep treats at the reception desk, your staff, everything is A1. Love you all
I called this vet in an emergency, I described the symptoms and he told me this was an emergency and he was not going to bother with any information. He told me to bring my cat right in. The staff and Dr. Mengi were amazing. Unfortunately, my cat had suffered a blood clot that had paralyzed him. They gave him pain meds right away and we were able to be with him. This was very difficult on our family as we had our cat Leo for 11 years. The love and compassion that we were offered during this time was greatly appreciated.
Ignore the 1 star review below - The staff at this clinic are absolutely wonderful. They are compassionate, patient and efficient. They always handle my kitten with care, and in a timely manner. We called them right before closing the other day because we were worried about our kitten's post-op incision. They were kind enough to make time to see her and assure us she was in good health. Thank you so much for the wonderful service you provide every time we visit your clinic. You have no idea how much it means to us. :)
My boxer mastiff Boog has a tumour on his torso that needed attention. This clinic got us in quickly, treated us both with such kindness and respect. Even booking the appointment when there weren't a lot of other animals there. Boog is a rescue with issues with other dogs but LOVES people especially the ladies. He is a flirt as Barb can attest to. The vet was gentle and attentive, offering great options and was not about draining my bank account. I HIGHLY recommend this clinic and it's staff. Wonderful experience.
Being able to take my dog Charlie, to SKVH is so appreciated. I had a different vet, very nice people, but twice they told me to take my injured dog to Ottawa because they couldn't see him for three weeks. I'm talking about a very severe deep gash to his paw which required surgery. A call to SKVH and they took him the same day. So, I will travel the 90 kms to Stittsville vet as long as I possibly can. They have been so helpful, professional and caring. I just can't say thank you enough for their care.
Very impressed with Dr. J! He very quickly diagnosed what was wrong with my Guinea Pig and was incredibky knowledgeable about her condition and how to treat it. My girl went from being depressed and sick to looking so much better very quickly after starting treatment. Not only is he knowledgeable but he is also very personable and professional. He was up front about costs...which were reasonable compared with a lot of other vet clinics in the area. We are switching all our pets over to his care!
Came with my kitten who was not eating and were taken immediately. I had to wait a bit longer than expected for a few things as there was an unexpected euthanasia and they were so amazing with me as well as that patient - giving me regular updates about timeframes, and were very considerate to the rest of patients. Staff were so nice which was exceptionally relieving when being there with a sick kitten I love. My regular vet is closed weekends, so went here and am so glad I picked this place.
Our golden needed emergency surgery while my husband and I were on holidays. The team at SKVH were kind and compassionate with our sons during this very stressful time. They explained each step of the intake process and the risks involved with the surgery. When we had questions about the healing process, they responded immediately, giving advice and booking a follow up right away. Our handsome boy is on the mend thanks to the team! We would highly recommend SKVH for the care of your pets.
We recently started to take our cats to SKVH and have been extremely pleased with their customer service, experience and professionalism. All of their staff are very friendly and take the time to actually discuss everything with you (including treatment plan options). They have even followed up with us to make sure our pets have been doing well after bringing them in for issues which I have never experienced before in the past with other clinics. I would highly recommend! Thank you SKVH!
My dog was excreting bright blood with very little stool for days. I called on a Saturday after getting the the run around from my usual vet and was given a same day appointment which made me apprehensive however my dog was treated accordingly with no “extras”. The vet was straight to point. He gave me the antibiotics and Marley was better within hours. They may not be baby talking your pet upon arrival in the wait room but they know what they’re doing and they didn’t rip me off.
I called almost ten hospitals and this vet got me in when my puppy was bleeding profusely and was having blood instead of diarrhea. They fixed him. They know what they are doing. They even sent me home with a handout about my pup's diagnosis. Every time I go there, they ask me to go over the estimate. One time I said do what you have to do and the vet still sent me the estimate. You can never make everyone happy. There's usually a line of people who wouldn't go anywhere else.
I highly recommend this vet. My girlfriend and I went today with our 8week old baby boy Cedar a Perro De Presa Canario. It was his first vet visit. He did a great job. They gave us lots of information, which we really appreciated! He got his first set of shots and weighed in at 8pounds. Edit: it was also very reasonably priced. Not that that really matters because id do or pay anything for my fur baby. But for anyone out there that needs a good vet for a pretty good price.
I brought my 9 year old cat swift in for vaccines and a general checkup and the whole staff there was amazing! I have a very timid cat and talked to Dr.J on the phone and he was very respectful and knowledgeable he also didn’t try and pressure me into any tests like other clinics have in the past. I also spoke with Sarah on the phone and Barb at the front desk they were very professional and knowledgeable! I will be continuing to take my cat and future pets to this clinic!
Really love my experience there. Been there twice in emergency: once with my dog and once with my cat. Called in the morning and they managed to fit us in their schedule. Dr. Mengi is really good and transparent. He also recommended products (not to be absolutely bought at the clinic, he suggested that we shop for good prices) to avoid/prevent our cat reccuring problems. Staff is great. Worth the 1 hour drive from our home. Would i recommend this clinic? Yes, absolutely.
We needed an appointment ASAP as my 14 week old puppy hurt his leg. Barb, the receptionist was amazing with hearing my problem, and helping me to solve it. We got a same-day appointment within an hour of me calling, and helped get my pup what he needed. The office was so clean and staff welcoming. No pressure to spend $$, just to find a plan of treatment that works for us and puppy. We have been searching for the right fit for a vet and we have found one!
The hospital was fantastic and friendly, our poor pup kuma was hurt pretty bad, they were one of the only hospitals 2 hrs away that would look at him right away! They explained to us what needed to be done and they aced it! With 5 stitches and him having to go under they handled the whole situation amazingly! They made sure he was good before they discharged him and even check up on him via text! Thanks to the wonderful team that fixed kuma right up!
Dr Jay Mengi has been our veterinarian for over 3 years. He’s very kind, considerate, and knowledgeable. He saved our dogs’ lives on several occasions - from an aspiration pneumonia and from a severe intestinal obstruction. He saved the limb of our adopted dog who had a severe infection that had reached the bone and we weren’t sure the limb was salvageable. Cannot thank him enough for all he’s done for our 2 dogs and 3 cats. I highly recommend him.
I have to say I was very impressed with the clinic. After being turned away by emergency hospitals, they took us in that same day. They have pretty late hours which helped with my work schedule. Staff are very nice and Dr Mengi really cared, showed compassion and went over and beyond to explain to us and help us understand/ make appropriate decisions. If and when we get another dog, it’s worth the far drive to make him our vet again.
My experience from start to finish was amazing the staff was very warm and professional , I was able to get an emergency appointment in the same day for my dog, and it was easy to get in touch with the staff and the doctor whenever I had a question.plus points for their texting service, I could send updates or pictures any time of day! Dr.Mengi took the time to explain everything clearly. Great experience and service over all 10/10
I want to thank this clinic. My dog was dying yesterday and I called 15 vet places and my heart burst when they would see him. The doctor was sooooo kind and the rest of the staff. On one of the hardest days of my life I felt 100% comfortable there. They were honest and did not sugar coat anything which I appreciated. They did all the lab work there and also euthanized him there as well. I highly recommend them to anyone.
I first want to start with WOW! I brought my 10 week old kitten for her first visit to get her shots done. My experience here was amazing. I felt supported and listened to regarding all concerns and questions. The staff here was SO friendly and welcoming. The overall environment felt great. There are great people here making sure your fur babies are taken care of. I would highly recommend this place to all my friends.
I am so appreciative of the entire team here. They are so kind, warm and friendly with me and Sophie. So gentle with our crazy baby girl. They take the time to make sure you fully understand what is going on and have taken the time to talk about diets for our little girl. Thank you to the entire team, we are so appreciative to have someone who cares for Sophie as much as we do. It’s worth the 30 minute drive for us.
I love this veterinary hospital! The staff are super friendly and great with animals. Which I know that should be a prerequisite for the job but I've been to some other locations in Ottawa and this wasn't the case. My dog wasn't eating or drinking and was also throwing up and had Diarrhea. The team was so good with her and took all the right steps to narrowing down the cause and helping her get better. Thank you!
My dog’s allergies started acting up and our usual vet couldn’t see him for 2 days. I didn’t want him to suffer so I called SKVH and they were able to see my dog the same day. Staff was very friendly. Dr J was very attentive to my dog and answered all my questions. We came up with a plan to help his allergies and the cost was told to me as we spoke. And the prices were fair. I will be moving my dog to this vet.
I have brought my dog in multiple times for issues he’s having and I love it there. They are always able to fit us in the same day if we require an appointment for only a small fee, much better then going to an emergency hospital. Dr Mengi is very caring with our dog and has always been able to come up with solutions for us. I feel very welcomed by their kind staff. Definitely recommend coming here.
I am so very grateful to SKVH for quickly responding to a critical situation. They saw my pup the same day and treated her immediately. Their check in system was seamless and their staff friendly and attentive. I left with a dog who will heal and clear instructions on my next steps with her. The staff was friendly and attentive and I will absolutely be a loyal customer moving forward. Thank you!!!!
Had a really positive experience here with my 2 cats, there was no pressure to spend extra money, you can tell this is a small business that is for the animals not the quotas. They have a texting service they use to communicate with pet owners for any updates while treating them. They also followed up with me today about my kitty’s health when they are not even open for business. Great experience!
This veterinary office is absolutely phenomenal. We have a six-year-old pitbull mix who ended up with a pyometra not only were they amazing with surgery but they helped us apply to a foundation to help cover the cost of bellas emergency spay this pup is our life I'm so thankful these Angel's were there. They care so much and it shows huge shout out to this vet for going above and beyond for her
I bring my all pets here to this hospital. They've shown so much compassion for my pets every single time. I also liked Dr. Mengi's way of explaining things and keeping my cat comfortable when she was being put down. He suggested I bring my other male cat for closure. Despite COVID restrictions everywhere, they brought me in to the clinic so I could say my final goodbye.
Great place! I thought my dog had a tick and I was able to see the veteranarian within an hour. Turns out it was a growth on her nose and he took some time to check other growths on her body which also turned out to be harmless. As well he gave me advice for food for my senior Pomeranian with other health issues. Friendly staff - I highly recommend this clinic. Thanks
Absolutely fantastic service. They took my cat in as an emergency because all the vets near me were closed or full. They treated my cat with tenderness and compassion. They were fast to respond to my concerns and extremely professional. I would recommend them to anyone that needs a vet. Mabelle and I are extremely grateful for all of you. Thank you again so so much.
I had to bring my young-ish cat Thomas in after noticing blood in his urine. The staff were wonderful and friendly, absolute DID NOT “push products or services” like a lot of other places do, provided me with all my options and prices before any decisions were made, had very fair prices, and untimely were just wonderful. I highly recommend.
I had just gotten my first puppy and needed to find a vet that is decently priced and reliable. I called around to see which one would fit my needs and once I spoke to Barb I found that she is so incredibly sweet and informative! The Stittsville-Kanata Vet is super reliable and very decently priced, I had a great first time experience :)
I drive 80km to get my cat vaccinated because we cannot find a vet near my home. I do not regret this drive because I am comfortable the moment I speak with the staff that my cat is in good hands. I love the kind staff because you cannot treat animals if you are not kind. My Midnight is super comfortable with them. They are the best !
Great experience once again. It’s not somewhere I want to go and financially it’s always a concern I have but each time (twice this year) have been very good experiences and I’m so very thankful. The vets are caring. Make recommendations and then follow through with a treatment plan I agree on. No pressure. No guilt. Thank you!
From the receptionist, to the Dr, and support staff, our experience could only be rated 5 star. We were informed in detail throughout our time spent there. Everyone was so caring and friendly, even though it was well after 6 pm on Saturday night. We would highly recommend this vet clinic. Our pet is back to normal, thank you!!
have an abusive cat ;) they took care of her but let me know up front what the treatment plan and cost would be. I found them reasonably priced, but much more importantly, went the extra step to look at her blood further than required - it let us take proactive action to save much further pain and expense. Thank you so much.
Update Oct 2023: We've been with your clinic for over 3 yrs now and we're so thankful. We have 2 cats now and they receive consistently kind care from everyone in your clinic. Aug 2020:Thank you for accepting our new kitten for an urgent appt before her first scheduled appt. We're looking forward to many more in the future.
I had to take my dog in for an emergency appointment on a Saturday (my regular vet was closed). The Stitsville Kanata team booked us in very quickly. The care and compassion shown by the team was greatly appreciated and everything that I would hope for in a vet team. Thank you for helping my pup get back to being healthy!!
My boyfriend and I have been very happy with the service at the Stittsville-Kanata Vet Hospital. We've had our kitten Nitro here twice over the past few months. The staff is always polite and welcoming. You can tell they care about the wellbeing of the animals. I'd definitely recommend this vet service to anyone looking!
Extremely friendly service and very fair pricing. I wasn’t a client and they were still able to accommodate me and offer me an appointment within two hours of calling. I would definitely recommend them if you’re looking for a last minute appointment. If they were closer to us we’d definitely use them as our regular vet!
We had to have our 19 year old cat euthanized and they were exceptional in their care and compassion of us and our cat. We have since gone to them with our dog and received equally good care. Everything was explained well and options discussed. All costs were explained and there was no pressure to take any treatment.
My cat needed urgent care for a non-life threatening issue and I wasn't able to get an appointment with his regular vet or other emergency care clinics. The Stittsville Kanata Clinic saw him quickly and established an effective plan for him until he could see his regular vet. The vet techs and doctor were excellent.
They were very attentive to our needs. Very patient with questions and showed great concern for our fur baby! They were able to work around a time that was convenient for me to drop off and pickup my baby! A very clean place with air-conditioning I was impressed! The prices are a bit steep, but worth it! …
Very professional staff, friendly. They went above and beyond for my parrot. Would highly recommend this business to everyone. I called an avian and they couldn't see my parrot for 2 weeks. It was urgent for my parrot to see a vet. Stittsville Kanata Vet didn't hesitate to take him in immediately. Superior service
I received amazing service for my dogs that encountered a porcupine. With over 320 quills removed from my poor boy, they brought him back to have more removed a few days later. My girl was much less affected. The care and compassion that we all received was exemplary. The staff are so helpful and ready to help.
Changed vets because my old vet practitioner changed staff often and have become very expensive. Was pleased with the Service at Stittsville Kanata vet Hospital no nonsense no extra tests or services and the best surprise was at the desk to pay... very reasonable prices . Will be recommending to all my friends.
What an amazing place to take my pets, the staff is so friendly and very knowledgeable and so helpful. The vetinarian explained to me everthing I should be aware for diet ect., and problems that could arise, for the age and breed of my two cats in great detail thank you keep up the great work to all the staff.
I'm very grateful to the very kind staff and Veterinarian that assisted me with my sick cat. They were able to get us in quickly. They worked with me on what I could afford as far as treatment options and didn't make me feel pressured at all. I'm happy to say my cat is doing so much better. Highly recommend!
I love this place and everything about it! Have taken both my dogs here and are very happy with their care. I find them very straight forward and honest with costs and procedures. Everything is always clean and time efficient! The staff are so friendly and understanding. Can’t recommend this place enough!!
Dr. Mangi and his staff went out of their way to help our dog Lego. Although he didn’t make it, everything possible was done to save him. Both the Dr. And his technician Sarah spent extra hours to try and save him. We will always be thankful for their efforts. Would recommend this Vet Hospital to all.
My cat needed emergency care and we got a same day appointment and excellent care from the doctor and staff at Stittsville Kanata Veterinary Hospital. Their text message system works great to give updates and ask questions in real time. Highly recommend if you (unfortunately) need an emergency vet.
I would like to mention how kind and gentle the team at this vet hospital is. Unfortunately I don’t have names other than the vet Dr Asif who is so kind. You can really feel the love they have for dogs. I brought our Shitzu in for an emergency a couple of years ago and have gone there ever since.
I'd like to thank the whole team. Everyone has been so warm and welcoming, it makes a big difference in a stressful situation like this. Even though I'm 50-60 minutes away from the veterinary hospital, I wouldn't hesitate to come back for treatment. Again thank you so much, Maxime and Houni
Outstanding service....could not find an emergency clinic that would take our 4 1/2 month old Saint Bernard...they took us in and they were amazing....check her...test were done and gave meds...I am very grateful and verified with us next day how she is doing ...thanks again to the team
Dr. Mengi and his staff were amazing! We had a great experience taking our 11 year old dog to this vet. Dr. Mengi was extremely compassionate and understanding, while also decisive and transparent. This clinic offers all you could ever ask for in care and attention for your pet.
Dr. Mengi is always available to answer questions about our pets and works hard to treat his patients. The veterinary clinic responds quickly to appointment requests and we can always see the vet quickly. SKVT always follows up after an appointment to check on our pets.
The veterinary staff was polite and sensitive to our situation. Even though it was an incredibly busy day they never once made us feel rushed when it came to our turn to see the doctor or while explaining medications. I would not hesitate to return to their facility.
Doesn't pressure you into expensive option right off the hop. They explain your options very well and explain the results with you and why they recommend certain medications. They work very well with my pets and promptly reply to messages within their business hours.
Nothing ever prepares you for that day when you lose your pet to old age. We were in a critical situation and the doctors and staff at SKVH were able to fit us in. They went above and beyond for us, so grateful for their kindness/support during and after our loss.
Called to book my dog in for an ear infection. The receptionist was great to fit us in and the doctor was fast and efficient. He didn’t try to “up sell” us on additional tests etc., he was straight to the point and that’s why we will be going here from now on!
Fast, caring, efficient, accurate & practical vet service. Reasonably priced as far as vet services go, too. I’ve used them twice as emergency backup to my regular vet and am seriously considering making them my main vet. The first visit saved my dogs life.
Jay has been very responsive and coordinated client of ours for years. He is always timely and I am sure he is with his customers. We are happy and satisfied to be his Accountant. Your good deeds will surely be rewarded. More power to him and his team!
SKVH has helped me out in two different health emergencies with my cats. Their staff are compassionate and work very quickly to help. Their veterinary team has been excellent in helping our pets deal with health difficulties. This is a fantastic vet!
This is a first class operation. The care we have received recently for our very sick dog has been the best we have experienced in Ottawa over the many years we have owned dogs, hands down. Knowledgeable, caring, friendly, accessible, responsive.
We arrived with a very sick cat without an appointment. Though there was a considerable wait, the vet was so thorough, so gentle, and explained everything to us. Three days later we have a cat back to his normal feisty self. We're so grateful.
Availability followed by courteous and knowledgeable analysis of the problem with suggestions for the future after current issue is resolved. Expert handling of Duggan. Kindness and understanding of my anxiety because of my dog’s condition.
We had to find an emergency vet on a sunday for an infection after surgery. This visit was worth the drive. Staff was absolutely lovely, courteous, calm and professional. Yes, emergency care is expensive but that comes with having a pet.
Amazing staff, they were very friendly and empathetic. I have been to other veterinary clinics where I felt like the staff didn't care very much but the Stittsville Kanata Veterinary Hospital did not make me feel like that once!
Had an emergency today, and the team was fantastic with their response. Great service and empathy taking care of our sick dog. If I lived in Kanata this would without a question be my first choice for a new vet. THANK YOU!
