Who else loves bone marrow as much as we do? We had so much fun here catching up with some friends. Between four of us, we got some cocktails, seven dinner items, and two desserts. Loved everything! The bone marrow was such a hit that we ordered two of them and got a brandy luge for each of us as well. It was super fun and definitely a highlight. The scallops mac and cheese was sooooooooo delicious. Instead of the traditional macaroni, they used scallops as substitute. For the dessert, we had the sweet corn panna cotta, my favourite of the night with the flavour and creaminess. We also got the hoof wing and fin mille feuille. This was very interesting as it was more a savoury than a sweet with the chicken liver mousse, fish sauce caramel, and duck fat icing sugar. Highly recommend it if you are not into sweets. Throughout the dinner, I felt welcomed and enjoyed the vibe. Service was impeccable!

Highly recommend if you want to have a great time eating out. Their food is top notch, and their service is above and beyond! We ordered 6 dishes among 3 of us and the portion was just right. I highly recommend the beef brisket with escamoles. My partner makes amazing brisket already, but this one tops his version with the taste, texture, and sides made perfectly. The only thing is when I came home, I finally realized what escamoles is (ant larvae). So it's for adventurous eater only! Services was also top of the game. They interacted with our little one, offered kids meal, joked with us and replied all our questions with thorough answers and patience. We definitely left feeling 200% happier!

Very small and quaint place on Powell St but don't let that area fool you as we had a great experience. We heard alot of good things from friends so we decided go check them out for Valentines Day and it did not dissappoint. We sat at the bar which was great as we got to interact with the bartender a lot and he concocted a couple drinks off the menu for us which were all great. As it's tapas style, we ordered the octopus carpaccio, soft shell crab, bone marrow and pork belly. I would have to say the bone marrow was the highlight so definitely order that if you come. As for parking, it's on Powell so it can look and feel sketchy so just park somewhere in a brightly lit area and you'll be fine. Great for a date night as it's small and intimate. Overall great place and would come back again!

It’s a small, but great place for good food and drinks. The atmosphere is casual, but the food has amazing flavour and is thoughtfully constructed and presented. We shared the octopus, squid, bone marrow, gnocchi, pork belly and after eight dessert and everything was spot on. To add to the evening, we were seated right beside the kitchen and were able to see all of the dishes being put together. I would absolutely go back to try the rest of the menu and I hope that they continue to add new dishes and try new concepts. If you want to go out for a drink before or after your food, head to one of the breweries nearby or go get some cocktails fr Odd Society Spirits.

I think this is not only some of the best food but also the best service in Vancouver. !! Very unique and different. Ordered 5 dishes to share between 2 people - gnocchi, escargot toast, frog & grits (picture), bone marrow (picture) and pork belly. Everything was amazing - highly recommend the bone marrow, pork belly and frog & grits. Drinks and cocktails are like nothing I’ve ever had before - delicious & super well crafted. Really appreciated the service - all questions answered and great recommendations. This place is a hidden gem & I can’t wait to come again. Lots of free street parking is the area as well.

Amazing dining experience! I had heard fantastic things about Strait & Marrow beforehand about their unique cocktails and great food and I was so impressed still when we went there! Food is impeccable and the flavour combinations are unexpected and delicious. The cocktails are alcohol forward but very fun and unique! I got a bar reservation and had a great conversation with the bartender who used to work at Shameful Tiki and he has a wealth of knowledge and was a gracious host. The staff serving were all amazing at describing the dishes and making recommendations. All-in-all, a fantastic night out beyond my expectations! I definitely want to come back with more friends to try the other dishes!

Highly recommend this restaurant. I had never been to this restaurant and was invited to a birthday party here. As a vegan I was concerned as I didn't see anything on the menu I would be able to eat. I emailed the restaurant to ask if they had any vegan options because some restaurants do have a separate vegan menu on request. They let me know that with advance notice, they would be able to accommodate a vegan diet. I was shocked at how amazing the vegan food was. They made us vegan crab cakes, vegan fried chicken and fried cauliflower. It was AMAZING! The drinks, the food, the service, everything was 10/10 top notch. We will be back FOR SURE.

Inventive dishes and unusual ingredients. Adored the scallop spaetzle. There was a variety of novel experiences across the dishes we tried: eggplant parm as finger food, making a noodle dish out of scallop (spatzle), crunching into escamoles (ant larvae) over a salsa verde risotto, making a cocktail luge from the bone marrow, and figuring out how to feel when dessert is created from duck fat / chicken liver mousse / fish sauce. They participate in FirstTable, if you want to shave the cost of the food items by 50%. Will happily return for another dining adventure.

This is one of the best restaurants in Vancouver, hands down. We got 5 mains + dessert and everything was phenomenal and so original. You really can’t go wrong. The drinks are super original too (marrow infused brandy!). The staff is all very friendly. We sat at the bar and talked to the bartender and waiter plenty and they were both happy to answer all of our questions about the food. So much care goes into every dish, and they bring them out one by one so it was all spaced well. My husband and I actually think this is the best meal we’ve ever had and we’ve had a lot of meals together. Couldn’t recommend it more highly.
We always enjoyed tapas and cocktails so we gave this place a try. Small, intimate venue, but a bit cramped at times especially when the kitchen and bathroom share the same walkway. We had the octopus, bone marrow, gnocchi, and pork belly. Out of them, the octopus carpaccio was best. The gnocchi chowder was overly salty and gnocchi too mushy. The cocktails were very alcohol forward, for those that like that. We liked their namesake cocktail and Fat Panda the most.

The staff were nice and friendly here. We, 2 adults and 2 kids, ordered five dishes and one dessert for sharing. Food was delicious with some exotic elements in it. Korean Beef Heart Tartare tasted yummy and the presentation of food was pretty. Shrimp Toast had green papaya salad which was fresh and tasted so good. My favorite was Beef Brisket, oh my goodness, it was so tasty and mouth watering. I shall recommend this restaurant to my friends.

They just switched up their menu, so can't wait to go again! Highly recommend their Straight and Marrow cocktail, the Korean beef heart tartar and the scallop mac and cheese!

Came here to join some family later in the evening. We didn’t expect to order much, but based on the menu, we ended eating a full meal. Overall the experience was very positive. They’re certainly carving out their own path which is refreshing to see. Overall, I’d give them a 4.5 (if I could). I gave them a 5 in Google for the benefit of the doubt. A couple minor opportunities, but overall highly recommended! They did a great job with service, food, and drink and it would benefit you greatly to try them.

The food is just flat out amazing. We tried out almost all the dishes and everyone was unique and so full of different flavors. I honestly enjoyed every bite. But I must also mention the drinks...unique doesn't seem enough of a description. Read the ingredient list and you honestly won't have a clue what it will taste like which is an amazing experience. The host greets everyone like friend which puts everyone as ease. Different tables strike up conversions because you all just want to share the amazing experience. I enjoyed my meal and will definitely be going back soon.
One of my fave tapas bars! The dimly lit room and creative cocktails makes it great for date night. Their dishes are so unique and they cook all parts of the animal, even the unusual cuts. The plates are smaller and meant to be shared. I normally share 5 plate’s + dessert between two people. The server will explain every dish after bringing it to your table. I order the bone marrow every single time. It’s so rich and flavourful and I recommend adding the brandy luge for $6.50. The octopus carpaccio is a good appie as it is light and chewy.
There’s not one dish we ordered that we didn’t love. Every dish was seasoned perfectly, they all had their own unique flavours. The concept here is small, unique, shareable dishes, if you’re expecting large family sized portions, maybe choose Boston pizza instead. This hidden gem is a step above the rest! Highly recommend trying! Decor and ambiance was perfect, nice feel to the restaurant, not too big, music was at a perfect volume. Server was very informative and helpful! Overall perfect date night and birthday celebration!
Straight & Marrow is an absolute gem of a restaurant. We came here for a special date night and each dish and cocktail we tried was delicious and unique. We ordered seven dishes (including dessert) between two people and left very satisfied. The escargot toast and bone marrow were our favourites. The service and ambiance were great as well. We're already looking forward to coming back and trying the rest of the menu.

It was supposed to be a brewery hop kind of night until I found a random restaurant that looked "wow-ing". I looked up the food and drink pics, sold. Food and drinks were delicious! Amazing service from their weekend bartender. I am definately coming back to try the rest of the items on the menu. *Look out for their Seafood Boil pop-ups!*

Food 4.9/5 impressive offering! We came in the day of their 2nd anniversary and had the special, beyond that, the marrow and escargot gnocchi were bomb! The special cocktail was not as ideal. Service 5/5 friendly staff and creative bartender. You can tell they like their job. Ambience 4.8/5 like every other restaurant in the building, you had to work with what you have…toilet is a little cramped Definitely hidden gem and will come back.
GREAT SERVICE! Love the vibe the place is super trendy. The food was better than ok, they put a lot of effort but it wasn’t special. Drinks were great! Fun spot to go for a date the service was so great. Felt special but food wasn’t great the presentation was pretty though I must say.

Wow! What a creative, unusual, delicious meal. The space, service, cocktails, food…it was all top notch. Straight & Marrow is worth the trip. Should be one of the top-rated restaurants in Vancouver. Our server was fantastic and knowledgeable. Helped us decide how many dishes to order for the four of us and assisted in selecting wine to pair with the interesting menu. Loved this dinner and highly recommend you try it!

I'm a bit intoxicated writing this, but having had 3 cocktails, and about 5 dishes, and 3 deserts (shared between 2 people), everything tasted absolutely delicious. It was pricey, but as a treat, totally worth it. Would definitely go again. More
Unique menu with some excellent dishes; the frog and grits, and street corn gnocchi was truly exceptional. It’s a small place with a nice bar with comfy chairs, so not a bad place to sit if a table isn’t available. The service was friendly,
