Everything in the university is automated. I try to make a phone call and it directs me back to where I started, ultimately just chasing my own tail. My issue is I paid the acceptance fee twice(both separately just over $500) and a month later I was told my application was withdrawn because "I did not make a payment". I checked my bank account as well as my university account receipts(bear tracks and a separate payment website made directly by the university) and both hold evidence of me having paid the fee. I'm trying to reach out to them (I have 2 emails waiting on responses and I call them twice daily) and have yet to hear back. This is day 4 of my efforts.
After being on hold for over an hour for the second day in a row, an automated message then said the office is now closed. The time was 12:25pm. I don't know a place that is so incredibly understaffed, than the UofA student service center. They are not getting "higher than normal call volumes", they are just not staffed accordingly. It would be a surprise to see if the University ever addresses this within our lifetimes. If they are going to raise tuition every year they should at least raise the service standard with it.
Very inaccessible, never available to actually take real calls. Horrible customer service. Called student services, but never actually serving anyone ever. I’m trying to fix simple problems, but am never able to feel supported enough as a student to do so. Do better U of A.
Endured a four-hour phone queue despite an estimated wait time of only 10 minutes. Similarly, a two-hour wait online was shown as just one minute. With UAlberta seemingly keen to increase tuitions, one would hope their "world-class" student service improves. Awful
Straight up impossible to contact a real person right now, no phone lines open. Literally refusing to answer about anything and the "email response time" being 2-3 days is the biggest lie I've ever heard. Been over a week and heard nothing about my last request.
Waited 1 hour and 22 minutes on hold to get an answer where they can't help me anyway. Have to call another department. The other department says I have to call them. Nice to see the respect of everyone's time.
called student services, was on hold for an hour and 20 minutes. I got through to tech support in 5 minutes. they told me I'd need to call student services. so I guess I'll have to try again? what a joke.
I was on hold for about an hour and 25 minutes, but the representative was very kind, answered my questions patiently, and gave me the correct contact information I needed.
been waiting for over an hour when they said the wait time would be 20 minutes. seen people go before me when they got here after me.
This school in general suck. Student services that don't serve students lmaoooo. The number don't even work anymore
