Unprofessional, messy, and rude. I came here to get my hair bleached so I can later dye it purple myself. I told Tammy this and without asking me how light I wanted it she started slapping bleach all over my hair. I wanted to cry so bad there was no sectioning, no foils, the bleach looked crusty and dry it was terrible. My hair did not look fully saturated in the bleach at all. She was so messy with the application there were three different times when I felt her get bleach on my face and it started burning I had to go in and wipe it off myself with my fingers. There were little bleach splatters everywhere. I kept flinching every time she went over to work on the hair around my face because the brush was getting so close to my face she was not paying attention. When she was done smearing my head with bleach she put two plastic caps over my head and had me sit in a hair dryer and that’s when I got a good look at my hair with my phone camera. There were parts on the back of my hair that had no bleach on at all! When she finally rinsed our my hair it was so spotty at the roots I have no idea what she was doing there. Some parts of my hair have like half an inch of my natural hair and other parts she put the bleach right up to my scalp. My hairline looks so bad I don’t think even when i put the dye over my hair that it’ll look good at all. Not worth $95 at all!! After the appointment I went to my car and cried. It was so bad I could have done better myself. I came to a “professional” for a reason. This is not professional work. Would not recommend to anyone. Update: they offered me a partial refund if I took this down review. Also they offer discounts for your next haircut if u can show proof that u wrote a good review on here which explains why they have so many 5 star reviews. I came here because of the reviews and I thought they were genuine but I guess not. Just people trying to get discounts.

My original cut and highlight was amazing with Ty. I went back and had similar results, but he didn't think I needed a trim, ok. I went back 6 weeks later, excited to get my full hair workup, but there was a family emergency with my stylist and I postponed with a heavy heart. I came back the next day, as scheduled, and he ran 40 minutes late. He had me deep condition under a dryer (which I didn't ask for) while I watched him cut the hair of another patron on time. Ok...when he finally got to me, instead of doing the planned highlight and cut, he put die (not bleach) all over my hair and stuck me under a dryer. To make a long story short, I have copper new growth and bright white highlights. He said it was the lighting. I got home, took pics, contacted that I was unhappy with it, gave him my availability (which is unchanging) and never got a call back to fix my hair. I am now finally scheduled to go elsewhere. No refund, no fix. Just walking around with copper hair roots. Not professional at all. They had my phone number and never reached out.

This was my first experience in an actual salon, I have just been going to great clips my whole life prior to today. Ty Martin was my stylist and he was amazing. He made sure before we started that he knew exactly what I wanted, and was great about giving tips for my specific hair type. He was also very honest with me about my hair, like how my scalp was a little greasy and was very helpful in pointing me in the right direction as far as hair products. My cut came out beautifully. The space is also super cute, and you can tell they have a lot of repeat clientele . Excited for my next appointment! Okay!! Wow……seriously. Hold up!!!!!!! So, this was my first time going to studio 500. What an experience!!! First off the salon is cute and cozy and really clean. It’s also really easy to get to! My stylist was Tyler. He’s a super welcoming open individual. Usually I’m pretty shy. But he got me to talk and open up. He’s super knowledgeable about hair and helped me decide and even gave me some helpful tips!! He really knows what’s he’s doing and I’ll keep going back to him. ❤️ The staff besides from my stylist where also all very friendly and welcoming. Very encouraging of each other which provides a nice environment. I was really happy to have this experience and will keep coming back. I highly recommend.

We got a perm and it turned out great! Tammy was wonderful. I found my new salon. Revised! This was not my review! Tammy did a horrible job. I was supposed to get a spiral piggyback perm. I got a fake looking regular perm. My hair was left dry and very damaged. When I asked her about the way she was rolling it she told me because my hair was so thin it didn't need to be rolled with 2 rods on each other. I paid about $300 for a hairstyle I didn't want. When talking to the management about the issues, it was made out to be on me. I wish I had never found this salon!

Paisley cut my hair, and she is a genius. Also, her boots are cool. She looked at the picture I showed her and listened to my concerns and managed to give me exactly what I wanted. She even blended a weird short cowlick into the cut so it doesn't stick out anymore. Literal magic. That thing has stumped the last three people I saw before her. 10/10 would recommend. Also, she gave me solid prices on some things I want to do in the future. Literal god tier human. The shop is hella cute and super clean and open, as expected. But for me, Paisley is the draw.

I work with Ty to do my hair and he is fantastic. I had a stroke back in April 2022 which resulted in severe sensitivity to the right side of my face. I had to cut my hair very short so I could even wash it because my hand was seriously affected as well. He was very mindful when cutting my hair to not cause me discomfort. I’ve been going several times now, I’ve gone from a brunette to a white-haired pixie and he does an incredible job. If you’re looking for well-done color, he’s your guy.

Haircut was done pretty quickly. I brought a picture of what I wanted. She barely looked at it, and made no effort to really discuss the cut with me. Haircut didn’t turn out like the picture at all. The cut is okay, but just standard layered haircut that doesn’t take into consideration thickness or curly hair. I knew it wasn’t what I wanted when I left, but it didn’t matter because I knew I wouldn’t be back. $35 probably just isn’t enough to pay for a quality women’s cut.

I’m so particular and anxious about my hair so it makes me very happy I finally found the perfect place :) Ty was very patient and reassuring and understood the color I wanted perfectly!! 10/10 would recommend! His work in the pictures speak for themselves! And Salon 500 is very clean and has an adorable decor. The other stylist were sweet and friendly! I’ll definitely be going back and have even talked about taking my kiddos to get their cuts there from now on as well!

I'm new to Indiana and went for the first time today. Walking in the place looks nice and is clean. It smells good and is very relaxing. All of the staff were very nice and polite. Ty was the one that took care of me and he did such an amazing job. I got my hair cut and some high lights and he really took the time to make it exactly how I wanted. He was very nice and has gained a new client. I highly recommend this place to everyone looking to get their hair done.

I really like my haircut and style but my bangs look horrible, they are uneven and she tried to rush my bangs. First she cut them at a straight line when I asked for curtain, and when I asked her to raise them she was telling me I shouldn’t. When she did “fix them” I didn’t want to say anything else. But after a few days I can tell they’re super choppy and not what I asked for. this was my first ever experience at a salon and it was overall good, very clean place.

Ty did a phenomenal job on my blowout. He was excited to be my stylist and did not make me feel like he was being rushed. Ty also ensured I was comfortable and that made the atmosphere very inviting and friendly. He explained the process of the blowout and the aftercare needed to maintain it. I was introduced to Nicole a few years ago and she instantly became my preferred stylist. She is super friendly, helps suggest a style when I’m not quite sure what I want. I have super fine hair and she has helped me repair the damage that has been done over time by others who were less experienced. She is amazing with color, especially the fantastical ones!! Overall, I highly recommend this salon!! I’d give her 6 star’s if it was an option!

He cut my hair better than I had expected. I knew I needed to essentially restart my hair growth due to it being fried. He made me feel comfortable with shaving my head. I kept very little but he made sure it was all healthy and that it looked good on me, my personality and face shape. He literally put SO much care into my hair, it was insane. Ty Martin was my stylist. He did a wonderful job. He cut my hair and did highlights. He is a very talented and personable stylist who offers excellent and creative ideas but is willing to listen to your own suggestions. The salon itself is very bright, cozy and appealing. I saw Tyler for a partial highlight and cut. He has great customer service skills. I felt pretty comfortable with him. I didn’t like the initial tone of the blonde that my hair was after we bleached it and he had no problem toning it after I asked him and he reassured me that I would leave the salon happy. After he toned my highlights I really liked my hair. He was very kind and communicated with me throughout the while process.

This was the best haircut by Nicole I have ever had. Amd I am a retired stylist from Arizona She was amazing on her razor cut on my shirt haircut. I highly recommend her. I will be back in May and will definitely have her cut my hair again. Wish I would of found her earlier when I came to Indiana in June for the summer. Love going to Nicole to get my hair done. She's a very professional, confident, and honest owner/hairstylist. She takes the time to listen to her clients to find out what service they are requesting and she helps them decide on what colors or styles would look best on them. As far as the salon itself, it is very clean and relaxing and the stylists follow the Covid-19 guidelines for everyone's safety.

I found Studio 500 when I couldn't get in touch with my normal hairdresser after Covid19 restrictions lifted. I couldn't be happier with the ladies there. It's an adorable shop, with wonderful stylists. I recommended the shop to my mom and she loves the ladies as much as I do. It doesn't matter who cuts your hair, you can feel confident they are going to take great care of you with a awesome hairdo!

I was in Friday and got my haircut from Tammy. I've contemplated making this review but I hate my hair. She cut it way shorter than what I asked for and it's very choppy. The environment of the salon itself seemed off. After I came home and styled it myself I noticed how terrible and uneven the layers are. I waited years to cut my hair and now it seems like I'll be waiting years to grow it out.

(I prefer not to say the stylist name) I asked for red and got orange insead. The service I received ws done in very poor quality . She was very aggressive when untangling y hair, y hair is curl but is easy to comb it when I do it. I wanted to try out a new salon but that was a mistake. I was the only one left and I think she did my hair in a rush so she could leave already.

Absolutely love my new cut and color!! It was my first visit to Studio 500 and my hair was a hot mess. I discussed my likes, dislikes and frustrations with Tyler. I was ready to go completely gray, but he took care of me!! I walked out with an amazing color and cut!! I look younger and the color compliments my skin tone and eye color. My daughter, mother in law, and I have been there multiple times and there was only one time I didn't like my daughter's hair cut. They are always professional and honest which I truly appreciate since my hair is no where near it used to be. I would definitely recommend them and pricing is affordable for the level of experience and all around feel. I need to make an appointment soon!

I wish if I can give you more than one star. Still, for year's I didn't use to color my hair in the hair salon. After doing my search on Google, I found 500 studio is near to me. I went to highlight my hair, and I choose caramel or brown color for the highlight. When I went out to the sun, I found my hair is grey and its burn. It was such a bad experience, and I will never repeat it.

Extremely rude, did not listen to what I was trying to say and ask. Kept telling me it wasn't possible and they would be charging a hundred dollars an hour just to start.. we ended up walking out and going to the salon around the corner called the Voom Room. Much kinder ladies way more professional and they were able to take care of me and what I was wanting done with my hair.

Ty was so amazing! He took the time to listen to what I wanted and my concerns. He was also a great advocate for the process and how to keep my hair healthy! We did an overall bleach and he advised we wait two weeks to get the toner so it didn’t damage my hair. I absolutely love the color. The salon is very down to earth and friendly! A true hidden gem of Speedway!

I absolutely love this salon! I have been here a few times and have never had a bad experience! Tammy is amazing and she always takes such good care of me. The staff is super welcoming and I've never felt uncomfortable. I moved recently and the salon here doesn't compare to Studio 500. I was able to get a last minute appointment mid day on Saturday with Ty. (My first time there) I have long hair & got highlights done & cut a few inches off . Tammy was very nice, but I would not recommend going there for a haircut. I have curly hair and she recommended long layers. However, it was very poorly executed and looks like someone butchered my hair. I am going to another salon hoping that they can salvage my hair without having to chop it all off.

I went to Studio 500 intending to chop my hair to remove all the old,brassy color. Instead Ty was amazing and used a toner on my hair to even out my color. He also gave me an awesome haircut. I'm so happy and definitely appreciate that Ty listened and gave me other options!!

I went to Tammy. She did a wonderful job with my cut and color. She was very flexible with me being specific about what I wanted and very accommodating.

Ty Martin made my day! He listened to what I needed, asked clarifying questions and gave me a great haircut. I left feeling and looking fabulous!

This is a great salon. Tammy has been doing my hair for years!! She can even fix a bad haircut from someplace else and not chastise you, lol.
