I have been coming to Sun Asian Kitchen for the past two years with my family, but these last few visits have been more than unpleasant. The food is always fresh, flavorful, and leaves your belly more than satisfied; however, the service is a roller coaster to say the least. The manger is aggressive, in a hurry to clear your plates, and will check in once for refills (that is if you are lucky). What bothers me about this place is the way they handle tips. Some days they charge the tip to your bill and other times they do not. This last visit, our waiter charged a 15% tip to our bill and I paid in cash, so I was expecting to receive $4.23 back. After waiting for a few minutes to receive the change, the waiter ran off into the back kitchen and left us stranded. Now, do not get me wrong, I am not complaining over $4 and some spare change, which I was planning to leave anyway, but as a courtesy, I should have been given my change back with a bubbly smile instead of being stranded like flat out rejection by your crush! I will return one day hoping to give this place the other two stars that it deserves for its amazing food. Sun Asian Kitchen, I WILL BE BACK!!!

Yesterday me and my family when to this restaurant sun asian kitchen. The food I ate was tuna sushi roll and orange chicken and noodles I usually don't get sick when I eat this in other restaurants but my tuna was bad and something was off about my dinner my husband said the same thing he got sick from his dinner as well he ordered vegetables and pork and rice. I honestly I am very upset with the cooking and the bat tuna I got an allergic reaction from it because it wasn't good and like I said I usually don't have any reaction whatsoever when I go to different restaurants still recovering from yesterday my arm got swollen and really tight . I don't recommend anyone to go to this restaurant there's something up about the the food they need an inspection in this restaurant for food safety don't know what the staff is doing honestly if I never get sick from any restaurant. I had to put a star because it wouldn't let me post my post I wouldn't recommend again anyone to come here.

Food wasn't bad, some stuff was really good. Yelp said happy hr ended at 7 but they told us 6 so we had to hurry and order. So that was bad plus the waitress was very rude like the whole time it's like seriously it's not my fault your stuff online is wrong. For what we got it was like $65 for about the same price I could've gone to Korean BBQ. Idk if I'd come back the waitress really was rude! 2nd visit, we stopped by for happy hour at around 3pm. The waiter was rushing us, when he came to take our order he took our menus and I was like I wanna order off here. Then he took it so I guess I wasn't going to order again. They brought my wife the wrong sushi roll, another waiter came by with the check and a box before we even got our food. They took forever with the one dish we ordered. Food was good but don't expect customer service. Two rolls, bbq pork fried rice two veggie egg rolls and a pork roll with a beef skewer. One ice tea came out to $40. Not bad pricing

9/13/23 Update: we ordered Asian kitchen this week, seemed like entirely different restaurant. Food lacked flavor, different than usual lo mein noodles and they were terrible. The beef skewers used to be awesome, flavor changed and gross. They added cabbage to the walnut shrimp and it was not as good as usual, walnuts not cooked right. I had to ask, are we sure this is sun Asian kitchen? Everything was different and not nearly as good, it’s like they changed the menu and flavors for the worse. The kung psi was ok but used to be way better. Please change back, we are done here for now. I eat here on a regular basis and hundreds of people I know at work do as well. This is the best chinese food in Phoenix. I highly recommend it! Egg roles are awesome, Kung Pao is the best ever, Walnut Shrimp is to die for, Honey shrimp is legit, and you really can't go wrong with any of the choices! Hope this helps. Now if they would only deliver further into Laveen, Az!

Take advice from an Asian. It’s overhyped in the reviews. I ordered the Combo Fried Rice and it was just bland. Thank god I added spice and soy sauce in my order because that’s what saved it. It looks appetizing but there’s no flavor profile of any kind. The quality of the Fried Rice from a Chinese restaurant tells a lot about the quality of other foods served. The beef was also really chewy. There was some pieces of hard rice in every bite too. I don’t usually complain about oil in my food but the rice was drenched in oil. The thing I’m most upset about is the portion!! $15 for such a small portion! Trust me there are way better Asian options around, go there. TAKE ADVICE FROM AN ASIAN you won’t regret it I usually get Chinese from Phoenix Palace but only didn’t go because it’s far from where I currently am.

It was okay. I don’t give too many lackluster reviews. But this place is very good at middle of the road. It isn’t bad by any means, but they don’t really differentiate themselves either from their competitors; unless you consider the encyclopedia for a menu. Overall, it was a good experience - just not noteworthy. They were very busy and have a good business - so, they are doing a lot right! But I didn’t get my meal until after my partner had finished their entire meal - for only that reason, I am reducing the rating from a 3 to a 2. Nobody wants to be hungry watching their partner eating and then when you get your food, they are full and ready to leave and you have just begun eating. That makes for an awkward dining experience. It they food was acceptable and the servers were excellent.

I’m new to Arizona and wanted some Asian food a the 4.3 start seemed good I read the most recent reviews a thought I try. I ordered vegetable lo mein and it was so heavy on garlic which I have never had lo mein with garlic I end up throwing it away a vomiting the bits I took. On top the noodles were so dry the were stuck together. I asked only for carrot’s an cabbages the host came to with an hand full of cabbage to show what they had I was like no cabbage cause I was now concerned she may put it in my meal. No gloves,pot or anything that she came out with to show. I won’t go back an threw it in trash an waisted $13 on it sadd

Our favorite Asian restaurant hands down. I'm a foodie too, I've tried many their sushi is always fresh and amazing. The staff is super kind. We go here at least twice a month. I always bring friends and family from the east side if the valley here for dinner over anywhere else l. Can't say much else other than they are amazing! Beef sticks are great. Coconut shrimp is awesome. Love their egg foo young. All their portions of hot food are very generous and always have leftovers.

Service was horrid, had to remind waiter to bring my drink after about 30 minutes (mind you they served my guest their drink rather quickly) part of our order was incorrect, appetizers were delicious and served hot. Main dish was served to me cold with some of the bottom of the food being warm (my guess is it was microwaved and not prepared fresh) which is funny because they took really long to bring it out. I did ask them to reheat it for me because it was literally cold. They did microwave it a bit longer but failed to apologize. Price definitely was too high for the quality and service.

I used to love this place and have eaten there many times before the pandemic. I ordered takeout from them yesterday for old time's sake, but after eating the crispy honey chicken, I came down with the worst headache I've had in ages, and it lasted all night long. I woke up many times and my head hurt very badly. Today I ate the leftovers, since I only ate about half the meal last night, and all of a sudden my headache is back. It's the food!!! It must be loaded with MSG or something because the headaches came on right after eating it. Thanks a lot Sun Asian Kitchen, now I need to go take some Excedrin again and hope my night and my sleep aren't screwed.

Started with iced teas and a California roll. Tea was fresh, as was the wasabi. Sushi was ok, not spectacular, but good. I had the cashew chicken with fried rice. Loved the flavor of the garlic sauce. Wife had bbq pork lo mein. I thought the noodles were a little chewy, but she liked the dish, she thought it was tasty. Unlike previous reviews, our waitress was attentive, but did NOT rush us. I felt comfortable eating at my speed. The cons - The booth we sat at had a very dirty window cover (curtain), and it was ripped, sewn, and ripped again. Because it's so far from where I live, I probably won't make a special trip back out this way to come back.

We had the Mongolian beef, Szechuan chicken and an egg roll. The beef was amazing as was the egg roll, but I had to take off a star for the chicken which had good veggies but the meat itself tasted a bit stale. The atmosphere was good. But at least on the weekend, there were a few things that were missing - no lunch specials and many of the little extras that seem to come with other places are extra here. The food cam with white rice and the portions were right on - not too big, maybe just a touch on the small side (but then again I'm a big fella so I'm used to more!) Overall I'm definitely going to be back to try the other dishes.

Great food and really great service, which is hard to find these days. It was busy and took a little while to get our order taken, and shortly after our order was taken I realized I needed to be somewhere before we would finish. Asked waiter if we could get our food to takeout instead. He was very accommodating and actually included an extra free entree. A little touch like that will keep us coming back often! And the food was all delicious!

I used to go here all the time a few years back during lunch at work. I was really hoping that the food quality was as high as it was back then... Sure enough, it is! For me personally, this is the best Chinese food I've ever had. I cannot recall EVER having bad food here, actually. Always exceptional. My personal favorites are the General Tso chicken and the twice cooked chicken, but I'm sure anything on the menu is great. They also have sushi here which I'll have to try at some point. Last thing I'll say is the staff here is super friendly!

I purchased some orange chicken as this looked to be a popular menu item. What I got was burnt sauce. My ENTIRE plate tasted like BURNT sauce. There was no chicken flavor and there also wasn't any orange flavor. It just tasted only like I was eating chunks of burnt sauce. The fried rice was too soft and under cooked. I don't know if it was a bad day but my experience with the food here was not great at all!

I moved to PHX from a small town in western Colorado. What I've been missing is really good Asian food. Well, I was excited to try this spot near the new house. It was.... Just okay. I had the honey chicken, which the online menu called out as being spicy. It was not spicy. Props though for allowing me to sub rice for simple lo mein noodles! Food was freakishly fast. Like sushi to the table in under a minute. The speed at which they refilled drinks became a joke. One person intentionally drank their water as fast as possible to the point of slurping and one of the waiters heads popped up like a dog hearing food hot the floor and his water was refilled in seconds. The guy that's waiting the table is just a jerk. He's not friendly. He treats the other staff members poorly. It's like he runs the whole floor but service lacks tact and caring. My Family and I Love going to this restaurant. We never have had any complaints on customer service nor food quality. They have a great selection. I love the Sushi Bar, Beer selection, along with soft beverages. They have meals for a family of 4-6. Price of food varies, but they are very reasonable. Don’t hesitate on visiting Sun Asian, they’ve been around for over a few years. We’ve been their customers for over 5 years. All the ladies and gents here are awesome and friendly.

The reason I like this place so much is because it's a cozy down family restaurant with an extensive delicious Chinese / pan Asian menu, as well as sushi and a full bar. They even have a happy hour menu for small plates and drinks (I believe it's 3 pm - 6 pm). Indoor or outdoor seating in a convenient location with adequate parking.

I love the Egg Drop soup with crunchy wontons, it's even yummy when you have it delivered. I start with that, then I like the Almond Chicken with sticky white rice. Nice big portions, the Orange Chicken and Teriyaki bowl are recommended as well.

Their customer service is really good and polite. It’s kind of pricey for Chinese food so I had high expectations. Been coming here for a very long time and it never seems to let me down. I ordered the spicy salmon roll and the California roll and cannot forget my all time favorite in Phoenix, their fried calamari! Sun Asian Kitchen is by far one of my favorite places to go and have a great time! Do not leave here without having some sake. I take my down with Budweiser because that is my preference but Sappora is good as well. Enjoy!

Ive been to Sun Asian Kitchen several times but tried the Large Crispy Fish for the first time. It was cooked perfectly. Crispy, flaky and moist. Others got House lomain and sushi. Yes...they are serving sushi. Yum. Friendly servers round out the visit.

It was our first time visiting here after seeing the final Elton John concert ever in AZ. The staff is very friendly and took time to chit chat. This made it feel more like home than anything. The crab Rangoon was delicious. The war wanton soup I ordered had not even 1 wanton and so many baby corn pieces, very bland. There were no scallops in my seafood dish, it was overloaded with baby corn and fake crab. The general tsaos chicken was very bland. Fried rice was ok, but very eggy. Lo mein was adequate at best.

Customer service is terrible. I was going to sit down and eat. The table was dirty. The waiter seemed like he had a running nose. Next thing I know he had stuffed tissue in one of his nostrils. I felt rushed by him the entire time. Just end up taking my food to go. I will never go back.

I used to think that the food here was good. Not so much the last 3 visits. Ordered orange chicken, it tasted freezer burned and was nasty. Time to find a different place to get Chinese food. The quality has really gone down.

I LOVE this place. The staff work so hard and are so sweet and funny too! Amazing food every time I go. Dining in isn't the fanciest place, but still pleasant atmosphere. I recommend.

I avoided this place for years bacause of some bad service on a few visits. We tried again and not only is the food better than I remember but the service was exceptional. I will be back and will be sure to recommend to others.

Lovely place fast and good service. Food is good, Chinese, Cantonese and or some Japanese rolls and sushi also. The bar is interestingly decorated and the restaurant ambiance is cool and relaxed. A good experience overall.

The food is excellent!! The best I have had since moving to Phoenix. I will be coming here from now on.

Best Asian food that I have ever had! EXCELLENT service! We ordered the chicken dumplings, chicken lo mein, and sweet and sour chicken. The portions were large, and price very reasonable. Our new favorite restaurant.

Best Asian food restaurant in Phoenix, especially in South Phoenix! Great lunch and dinner specials. Food quality never disappoints. Awesome drink selection. Atmosphere is pleasant but can be busy during lunch time.

The food is both good and reasonably priced, but the service is inconsistent. This service inconsistency stems from SAK's waitresses. Some servers are great, but most are below average to borderline mean.

Customer service is top notch. Everyone here tends to the guests, and the food was delivered so quickly! Very great experience

We have been eating here for years. The food is good the next day after refrigeration. They have duck sauce like back east. I love the Chai Tea Boba blend. Great place to dine in, as well!

This is my new favorite place! I ordered take out. They have lots of vegan options. Their Thai tea is delicious. I will eat here whenever I am in this area. I had the Kung pow tofu

I got the teryaki chicken bowl and found a bug in my food, I was so disappointed and grossed out. Unfortunately won't be going back here.
