My family is extremely critical of cakes and never hold back on their opinion! My sister mentioned that she would like to taste a cake from here so I decided to surprise her for her birthday, and I was so nervous that she and everyone else would end up hating the cake. I ordered one of their cute adult cake designs with yellow cake, strawberry buttercream ice cream between the layers, with a chocolate ganache on top. When I surprised her with the cake she was very happy with the design and even more excited when I told her it was from Mandy B's - showtime! We went in for a slice and... Decimated! The 9" birthday cake, which is a very respectable size, did not survive 24 hours between just three people LOL! Unfortunately, no one else was able to make it in time to taste it, but hey, as long as the birthday girl was one of the three, that's all that matters right? I cannot punctuate enough how impressed I am with the lack of artificial taste that you normally get from store bought cakes. Really great, and I hope that this high quality is maintained consistently. My sister was their customer (for the cupcakes I hear), but they've just gained a new customer in me. The customer experience was also nice, friendly and helpful service.

Chicago does deserts and cakes better than any city I’ve been (been to 75 countries so far!). Sweet Mandy B’s does deserts and cakes better than any other place in Chicago. It’s difficult to describe how good their stuff is. Their buttercream is a wonder of the civilized world (I mean, how is it so light but yet so fluffy?). Their cake is buttery but not overbearing. Their cookies are never dry. I think I’ve tried 80% of their products so far, but here’s the top list in my opinion: any slice of cake with any buttercream, a sugar cookie with buttercream frosting, and peanut butter pie (it’s heavy, but holy cow it’s good). We have been probably 30 times to the Streeterville and the Lincoln Park location combined, and the quality is the same at both. Keep up the good work!

Everyone at our office loved the cake. One word of advice is to make sure that you have enough time for it to warm up so it will actually be able to be cut easily. The frustrating thing was placing an order and thinking it would be able to be delivered but seeing that it went through as a pickup instead. I canceled the order and re-placed it but this time I caught that it switched it from delivery to pick up automatically. It seems like there's no way to have a delivery made to the One Illinois Center building. I'd also requested a phone call when the cake was ready but that never happened so I just showed up and fortunately it was ready for me, but the cake did not have time to warm up before we had to serve it so I broke two plastic knives trying to cut it.

Today was my first time at Sweet Mandy B’s and I was totally impressed! I showed up right as they were closing and I usually don’t want to bother the staff because they need go home too. However, I was kindly greeted and they offered for me to place an order after their official closing time. The staff was also very helpful in helping me pick out a dessert and did not rush me despite the store closing soon. Not only that but they gave me some slightly smudged but totally delicious cupcakes to go along with the sugar cookies I purchased. Wonderful experience, they are my new favorite bakery and I will be back for more!!

I have gone to the Lincoln Park location and I liked the cupcakes, I came today to try this location since it’s close to work, and the experience was as good as the first one. This time, I tried their lemon raspberry cookie and it was very, very good! Moist, tasty, rich, exquisite, well made. The raspberry jelly in the middle was delicious. I would’ve given 5 stars if it wasn’t because the cookie was sweeter than I prefer as well as the cupcake frosting, but it’s always a pleasure eating from this bakery! I recommend it to anyone without a doubt and will continue enjoying these delicacies as long as I can!

I’ve been buying cakes & cupcakes from this bakery since about 2010 and they were the best thing ever off Webster. Now that they’ve moved to Streeterville the cupcakes are smaller the price is up and the quality is horrible. They’re dry banana cupcakes were rubbery, my family and I have decided we are no longer shopping there. The cupcakes use to be a regular size cupcake now they’re just bigger than a mini with the added cost of a $1 smh good bye Mandy B’s it was good while it lasted I’m guess everyone’s trying to make us pay for their COVID losses not kool at all

Ok so first of all the staff is so awesome. They all were so nice to me. The display is awesome. Couldn't decide on what all I wanted to get for my sons. I finally decided on brownies, various cupcakes, and a cookie dough filled cookie. The portions are massive. When I tell you the red velvet and carrot cake cupcakes were the best I have had as of yet. The brownies are gigantic and I had cookies and cream and I forgot what was the other one called. Let me tell you again they were so good I just have to be a repeat offender and return for more. Thank you all!

Edited: The bakery promptly called me to discuss the situation and apologized for inconvenience. While it was an unfortunate snafu, I am incredibly impressed with their customer service and like I said, they are delicious! Bakery is delicious, but beware that sizing can be different between locations on the cookie cake. I have ordered multiple cookie cakes from the Webster location and I ordered one from this location and it was significantly smaller. It’s not a huge deal, but I had to scramble to get more dessert for my son’s birthday celebration.

I stopped by Sweet Mandy B's on a Saturday night for a couple items for my friend's birthday. It wasn't too crowded then and the space is beautiful and spacious. I got a banana cream pie and chocolate banana cupcake. I only tried the banana cream pie, which was extremely tasty!! It was not overly sweet, which is nice, and had creamy yet light flavors. Comparatively, the pie is less expensive than their cakes or a large set of cupcakes, so I was quite pleased with the price-to-quantity and quality ratio for the pie.

I work in the building and I went down for some cookies the other day. The Apple pay wasn't working at the time. The manager allowed me to take the cookies and come back later with my debit card to pay. I was so pleasantly surprised, and VERY appreciative. The cookies were a pick me up for myself and co-workers (rough Monday). I can't thank her enough for this kindness. I believe her name is Julia. Everyone here is always polite, but she truly went above and beyond. Definitely turned my day around!

I love this place, but THERE ARE NO PRICES LISTED and there is a random, undisclosed 3.5% "processing fee," which seems to be assessed for both cash and credit purchases. ANNOYING and not consumer friendly! This is my response to the owner's post: you TOTALLY can and should raise your prices when appropriate (we get it!), but it seems a bit underhanded not to disclose this information prior to one's purchase decision! The "processing fee" in particular seems a bit deceptive.

If I could give 100 stars I would. I love the service, all the employees and managers are so nice and welcoming. This is my go to spot for sweet treats and sweet service! My favorite item is the banana chocolate chip cake and ALL the cupcake flavors.

The worst experience I’ve had with Sweet Mandy B’s is when I take my last bite and realise there’s nothing left. These cupcakes and cookies are the absolute best. Any special occasion, I’m always celebrating with Sweet Mandy B’s. My friends and family get so excited when they see a cake box or a few of their buttercream covered sugar cookies (to die for). I’ve never had a bad experience with Sweet Mandy B’s- it’s always been consistently great.

It’s hard to argue with the quality of their baked goods. Without a doubt spectacular. However, their service during my last visit was quite underwhelming. The cashier couldn’t figure out how to ring up one pecan pie and one dark brownie so it took more than 10 minutes and had to swipe my credit card twice to get it done. No apologies, no acknowledgement of delay. What should have been a 5-minute visit was stretched to 20 minutes. Not cool.

My husband and I came in for a cinnamon roll and coffee and were very impressed. The coffee was the best I’ve had in Chicago and the cinnamon roll was delicious, warm and covered in cream cheese frosting with a good amount of cinnamon flavor. Took home a brownie with buttercream Oreo frosting…the brownie was so moist and fudgy and the frosting was excellent! Service was friendly. I would definitely return.

Although this vendor does have some amazingly tasting cupcakes and cakes, the staff at Mandy B seem to not comprehend reading the online delivery tickets being placed at their store. After trying to have 8 slices of chocolate cake ordered for my work team today, 1st order arrived with 12 cupcakes, 2 hours later after a re-delivery was requested 4 additional cupcakes arrived with zero cakes received.

My friends and I went there for cupcakes after having brunch next door. They had good options and a colorful and diverse display. I couldn't help it but keep it simple as I do love red velvet cupcakes. It did not disappoint! My friends tried the fudge and cookies and they also loved their selections. I want to go back for cake next time! Definitely recommend it if you're looking for a sweet treat.

Originally in Lincoln Park near DePaul University Campus, they opened up in Streeterville too, in River North. One of the best cupcakes you’ll find in Chicago Area. They are so delicious and fresh everytime to you. A lot of variety to choose from. It’s right on Ontario street. This place is only open for takeout. You need to place the order online and pick it up.

Delicious and fresh! Our party purchased an assortment of treats to try: oreo cheesecake, oreo brownie, snickerdoodle cookie and some sort of carmel banana cake. All were very tasty and di not disappoint. Also on the menu are a variety of cupcakes. I would highly recommend stopping in for a treat and I would definitely return, although I live in another state.

Yum! Grabbed some dessert here while visiting Chicago. The Pumpkin cheesecake and Lemon layer cake were wonderful. This was next to our hotel and loved walking by and seeing the decorators in the window working on all the cupcakes, etc. If we stayed longer I would have tried a lot more items- next time.

What a cute little vintage cupcake maker. My wife will only eat flourless dark chocolate cake on her birthday, and they not only had the perfect size for her, but were also able to put a tiny little message on their tiny cute little cupcake. Friendly service and tasty cupcakes, so lucky to have them in the neighborhood.

I ordered a chocolate on chocolate cake for my husband’s birthday. It was AMAZING. I WAS a fan of Magnolia Bakery... but Sweet Mandy B's has knocked them off my "go-to" for baked treats. If and when I have a special occasion, I will go to SWB's for tasty treats to show up with. The customer service at SWB's is very welcoming.

My job got us cupcakes for pharmacy tech week and this snickerdoodle cupcake is the best cupcake I have ever had. It’s so good I just had to leave a review. Moist and the flavor is so rich. I love snickerdoodles also and it flavor is spot on.

Didn't really like the turtle brownie. Very dense, more like fudge than an actual brownie and pricey for what it is. I will say that because it's so rich, the one brownie has lasted me 3 days so that may be a positive for some.

Sweet Mandy B's is a marvelous bakery, and I have been patronizing their Lincoln Park location for decades. Today, I thought I'd give their new Streeterville location a try, so I ordered a cookie for pickup.

I was staying at a hotel around there and decided to see what they had to offer. I got the Oreo cheesecake and it was amazing! Just the right sweetness! I have no complaints and I will be back next time!
