So nice to have Sweet Thea Bakery in Vancouver, when we cannot get out to Langley. Free street parking around Quebec St and E 28th Ave. Called to put aside two loaves for pick up. Very nice service on the phone and at the counter. Everything looks delicious. In Langley we tried the Campagne and the Whole Grain & Seed, which were both fantastic. This time we got the Nine Grain Honey and the Garlic & Rosemary. The Nine Grain Honey was so good. You can see all the different grains in the slice and it has different textures as you chew it. This bread is really good with sandwich toppings. I would not toast it too long as you then lose all those textures and flavours. The Garlic & Rosemary had a nice woodsy smell and you can see pieces of the herb in the bread. There are also small and large pieces of garlic throughout. Toasted, it gives off an amazing smell. I prefer this one with just some olive oil or oil and vinegar. Sweet Thea Bakery continues to please us with their breads. The crusts are thin and flavourful and the insides are moist with wonderful aroma. I am sure we will make our way to their sweets soon! Daniel

Absolutely adore the couple that run this bakery and the baked goods are top notch. I used to find them at the local farmers' markets and was pleased to see that they opened their own store front on Main Street. Sadly today (about 5:15pm, July 16th) I received the poorest customer service from the young woman on staff. She barely answered my questions and although I only ordered two items I had to repeat my order several times. She seemed weirdly angry with me from the outset which made the whole encounter very uncomfortable. I usually like to splurge at this bakery, ordering 4-5 items at a time but today I truly just wanted to leave as soon as possible. I hope the owners read this and resolve the issue with their current staff member as I would likely avoid visiting (even though their pastries are so good) if this person is there again. Edit Went again this past Saturday to give Sweet Thea another chance as I do love their pastries and baked goods. The two ladies working were very sweet and helpful. I have revised my rating to a well deserved 5 stars. Thanks!

I was very happy to find a good traditional bakery on Main Street! It only opened for 5 weeks. I hope this bakery will run well despite of the pandemic. Everybody likes bread and eats sandwiches, right?! Servers here were friendly. They provided their menu, so I could read what ingredients each loaf of bread was consisted of. Unfortunately I could not buy all the bread and try them all at once. I bought a couple loaves of bread. One was the whole grain and seeds and the other one was roasted garlic and Rosemary. Both tasted great! I loved them. The bread skin was crunchy and it was soft and moist inside. I also bought a bacon and cheese scone for snacks. Its size was a bit small and cost $3.75. It tasted good as well. I would love to come back here and buy other bread, so I can compare and see which ones I like more. They also sell sweets or cakes as well. Again I would like to try them one day.

The red hair employee is super rude in this store. When we purchased a box of cookie, the price tag is $25,but they charged us $30. When we returned to the car, we realized we were charged $5 more. Back to store asked why were overcharged. The employee just said we changed the price this afternoon, super rude and offensive without one word of apologies. Except that, we bought 8 Croissant, they stacked all 8 in a paper bag without a box. If you wanna charge customer tips, we expect better services. Not looking for a refund, just wanna owner know that your employee need to be trained and the rude one is affecting the reputation and image of your store. Will never come back again.

A lovely little bakery with the highest of quality treats ~ great mix of both savoury and sweet Everything is freshly made, beautifully displayed and DO taste as good as they appear. Had the good fortune of buying their cookies packs before at local craft shows, so its so nice to visit the actual shop in person! Hope to come here again soon. On this visit I bought a slice of lemon raspberry layer cake, a pear almond tart, fig bar, jam cookie, ginger snap cookie … cause variety! (find me on Instagram @aida.loves )

I had first tried their baked goods at local fairs and markets and so glad they were open a storefront on Main Street. Their baked goods are fresh, delicious and not overtly sweet. You can tell that everything is made with care, love and quality. They are fairly priced and I can't wait to go back and try everything else. I would recommend you check them out. It's the time to support a local business and their staff are so kind and attentive!

My mom is in the hospital, and didn't want to eat. She was getting so weak, I was in the lobby of her building, and they were giving out some of the pastries. I brought a couple of pieces of your pastries, and she ate them immediately, and said that they were delicious. I also tried a piece of a blueberry type Danish, best I have ever had. So thank you for your wonderful pastries, and for donating to Grandview towers.

My all time favourite bakery. My sister and I stumbled in randomly and we have been obsessed ever since. Everything looks so good Im excited to try it all. So far weve had the roasted garlic and rosemary sourdough (there are literal chunks of garlic in it), the classic sourdough, and the pamliers. All have been insanely good!!! I think the palmiers are the best things ive ever eaten, period.

Fantastic local bakery. They have amazing staff that are a pleasure to work with. My technology challenged grandparents were able to order a cake through them all the way from Australia. Not to mention that it was DELICIOUS!!! So far we have had their Christmas cake, at it was so good we went and bought another. Looking forward to the Christmas Plum Pudding that we are eating tonight!

This is such a wonderful experience of extraordinary baked goods. I do not live in this area but looked for a good bakery to bring back some bread and delights home. Brought some bread home (delicious and so yummy). And the macaroons are just the best. Even better than Paris!! According to my cousin who is an expert in these matters. Will visit next time I am in the city. Thanks

  • Emily Barlow

Absolutely delicious pastries - have been a few times and tried various pastries/bread. Would highly recommend if you're in the area. The staff that work there are also really helpful (making suggestions, detailing ingredients etc) and also so friendly, warm and welcoming. Big shout out to Nic who deserves a massive raise!

Got my daughter's birthday cake from here. It was a last minute purchase as the first place bailed on us. The staff was very friendly and gave great suggestions. I got the lemon raspberry cake and it was amazing. Soft sponge and flavorful fillings. Icing was perfectly sweet. Not too much not too less. My only wish for them would be to have cupcakes. Highly recommend.

My friends and family would call me a dessert freak because I am so picky about where I purchase my sweets. I stumbled upon this bakery walking on Main and purchased the Caramel Vanilla Cake as well as one of their beautiful loaves of bread. It is outstanding!! The cake slice was quite large and only five dollars. I highly recommend you all go check this place out :)

  • Angel Armamento

They are community-minded and promote local produce. They bake fresh goods every day by hand, and only use high quality ingredients - often from market vendors. No preservatives, corn products or stabilizers. Breads are naturally leavened without commercial yeast. We particularly enjoyed the chocolate croissant, spinach and feta snail, and ham and cheese croissant.

  • Sharlie Marie

Have been a fan the goods they sell at their market and ferry stands for years and am thrilled they have a storefront on Main now! All of their breads, pastries, pies, cakes, cookies, tarts, desserts, everything they make is fabulous! Always fresh and you can taste the quality ingredients. Another great bakery that brings its own unique taste to this neighbourhood.

My husband and I are big fans of Thea's mastery! Her lemon tart? Perfection. Her cookies are my absolute fav - all of them, but you haven't lived if you haven't had her jammers. We take a bag as a hostess gift everywhere we go and they get devoured instantly. During the holidays you will never not find a stollen in our house. True quality in everything they bake.

Appalling that in this day of age, such terrible people still exist. Came in and asked if the bakery catered to individuals with certain dietary restrictions due to religious beliefs. Somehow this became a heated discussion with the individual serving me saying ‘Maybe your people should get their baked goods elsewhere.’ Absolutely disgusting.

  • Jessica MacDonald

I love Sweet Thea bakery!!! Amazing service the girls here are awesome always so helpful and quick! The store is kept so clean and organized and these two ladies know what’s up, I will definitely be shopping here for my baked goods love the breads and treats, all my family and friends are now hooked. Check them out:)

  • Djihane Damoo

I cannot stop recommending this bakery. I got their roasted garlic and parmesan focaccia, their mushroom-spinach breakfast buddy and their pistachio chocolate cherry cake slice. The breakfast buddy is so flavourful and comforting and their cake slice is decadent. Hands down best cake i have had in Vancouver.

  • Jess Loo

Bakery goods are decent but service is really poor. No smile, doesn’t want to answer your questions, the girls there just make you feel unwelcome. Also she had one gloved hand and an un gloved one, but proceeded to touch my danish with the ungloved hand. I paid and rushed to get out of there.

  • Eddie C

Absolutely lovely people and even lovelier pastries. We got the lemon tart, a chocolate croissant and a full cake from them and everything we have tasted has been delicious. The service was wonderful which just made the whole experience even better. 10/10

  • Shahram Khayam

I bought for the first time a Lemon Danish. It was so good and tasty. I bought another 5 for home. Their bread is so yummy and worthy. I'm very grateful to them and happy that I found this awesome bakery shop. Thank you, guys! I will visit you again soon.

  • Matthew Dillon

My new favourite bakery! The most beautiful loaves of bread I've ever seen, and everything I've tried has been seriously delicious! The super lovely folks who operate and staff this gem should be very proud of their quality and artistry.

  • Chef Menajem Peretz

That amazing add to the Main Street foodie options, excelente German Bakery, cosy place with very good options of sweet and savoury and some gourmet items to shop on the way, very nice customer service. Love it all and will come back

  • K P

High praise for this local bakery. The Christmas Pudding is outstanding, I could taste every ingredient; fruit, nuts, brandy, spices. The croissants are perfect, buttery, chewy and crispy. Everything is quality.

  • Giang Bui

love everything in this bakery! I had my first visit the bakery last week and tried their pumpkin pie, apple hand pie and almond croissant. all are very good! I will come back to order christmas cake from them!

  • 1m_s0_swag

I came in to get some bread and Nick was great! I didn’t know what to get and she suggested the garlic rosemary loaf. It’s so good! I never would’ve tried it if Nick hadn’t recommended it to me. Thanks so much!

  • Shaunella S

Cute little spot with so many options, we had a hard time choosing! Ended up with a variety including a chocolate pistachio cake which was so delicious! Will go back for more pastries and try the bread as well.

  • a. loe

I ordered a small loaf of rugbrød (Danish rye bread) via the website. It is very flavourful with the lovely tanginess from the sourdough fermentation. The ordering and pick-up went smoothly and efficiently.

  • Kam J

Just got home and enjoying my almond croissants. Absolutely delicious. This is a cute little bakery with a truly amazing lady running the shop. She totally made my day today. I will definitely be back.

  • Leon Hong

Walked by today and bought their rosemary focaccia. Superb!!!!!! I wish I bought more!! I highly recommend this place if you are looking for some amazing fresh bread for your dinner or sandwiches.

  • Vancouver Yas

This bread is even good when it's hard. I buy two loaves and leave one to become hard. I eat it with soup. There are few places in Vancouver where you can get good bread at a decent price.

  • Kelly Z

Had the chocolate pistachio cake, was fantastic! Not normally a big pistachio person but flavour was subtly and not clearly artificial. Cake moist with great proportions. Would recommend!

  • RITA RATA

We here for the first time in Vancouver We walking around and see this bakery look yummy and we decide to get some croissants it’s turned out very good I like it. we come back next time.

Delish sourdough and focaccia! And staff was very friendly. Focaccia would make a great sandwich night. I'd love if the had like a 2/$10 deal on the focaccia

  • Perry Anderson

Fantastic baking, fantastic service! Some of the very best cookies and croissants I've ever had, and I've had almost every bakery's goods in Vancouver.

  • I O

A gem! We've tried almost everything here: they are all so delicious! Appreciate that nothing is overly sweet, there's a good balance of flavour.

  • Rebecca S

Delicious cakes and sweets, and the Jalapeño Asiago sourdough is incredible! I actually like the cakes better than Trafiq across the street.

  • Karolína Hájková
