The staff is generally kind and efficient when I'm at this office, but the client communication is really lacking. I have now twice been scheduled for an appointment that did not happen, and I was only notified after going through the effort of arriving at the office. Once, I needed to reschedule for personal reasons and was told by staff I had a confirmed reschedule, only to arrive at the office and they had no record of my appointment that day, or any other day. And this morning, although there is some icy weather, I had spoken to a staff member yesterday to reschedule my 8:30am appt to a noon slot because she said they would be opening later in the day. When I arrived, they were closed because of winter conditions but I received NO notice that this was the case and that my newly rescheduled appt had been cancelled. Then when I called to inquire, the representative implied I had been told by an automated message of the reschedule which was just insulting after the annoyance of them messing the scheduling up. I totally understand closing for the day to keep staff safe off the roads...but you would think they would notify their clients in order to keep them safe off the roads for no reason as well, right? I won't be returning to any Swish dental location after now being repeatedly inconvenienced by their negligence.

I hadn't visited the dentist in over 5 years and everyone at Swish made the visit incredibly stress free from start to finish. I'm beyond thrilled I chose to go here rather than any other dentist, as Ive had my fair share of negative experiences. Everything from top of line x-ray equipment to scanning and making a 3D model of my teeth to be able to look at in any angle. I have never had such an in depth understanding of my teeth before this. Dr. Nessler explained everything in great detail and made certain I also understood what she saw and what she recommends. I'm confident I know exactly the best course of action and that I made the most educated decision based off our discussion. Thank you, Dr. Nessler! On the front end side of things, the billing information was easily readable and digestible. Im impressed with the level of simplicity for the patient when it comes to anything finance related. My overall experience was 10 stars and I really appreciate everyone who facilitated the experience. (I also want to note that this is not a review in exchange for anything.) I just want to be able to reassure anyone else who is trying to select their next dentist and wants an honest opinion. Swish is great and I would recommend them 100%!

Waited a couple years to post my review. I had high hopes for the Downtown location but I would never recommend to anyone. While I’ve enjoyed my experience with the various dentists (seem to get a new one each time I show up though so no real relationship or consistentcy with a Doctor) and the office itself…however the back office staff needs major major upgrades. It became a running joke that every appointment I had that something would go wrong whether it was their side canceling an appointment and never informing me, trying to mislead with Invisalign (which I had to fight for a reimbursement after insurance didn’t cover even though they “confirmed and verified”), forgetting to order my permanent retainers (and then telling me it was never in the treatment plan when it was…), dental assistants not having enough training (a lot of newbies so I became a Guinea Pig, etc (the list goes on). This company is VERY corporate and VERY focused on profitability and not necessarily doing the right by the patient (compared my experience with a family office). Overall it was a very poor experience and I’ll be looking for a more qualified practice that focuses on its patients experience vs the bottom line.

Great experience. Going to Swish felt weirdly like going to a party. They have music playing, friendly staff, and you can even watch Netflix while your teeth get cleaned. Staff members I had exceptional experiences with: - Dr. Celia Rathmell did a great job of explaining to me how my crooked teeth contribute to my gum recession, which was something I've been struggling to understand. She was also really nice and knowledgeable in general. - A tech whose name I didn’t catch did a great job getting me settled in and putting me at ease. She was really nice and tried really hard to help me feel comfortable. She was also a lot of fun to talk to. - Sheryll did a great job of cleaning my teeth, answering my questions, and generally being fun and nice Other things I liked: - I only sat in the lobby for, like, 5 minutes before my appointment began. (This is HUGELY important to me!) - Easy to schedule on the website. Things I didn’t like: - Hard to find the entrance to the place. I waddled around the parking garage and the outside of the building for 10 minutes until I found a way in.

I've gotta tell you about my incredible experience with Dr. Evan and his team. I was seriously freaked out about going to the dentist, but Dr. Evan was a total hero. He was patient, and understanding, and helped me conquer my dental anxiety after 10 years of avoiding it like the plague. And let me tell you, Emily, the dental assistant, was a straight-up rockstar. She held my hand throughout the appointment, making sure I was comfy and informed every step of the way. And Joseph, the treatment plan coordinator, was seriously impressive. He was professional, welcoming, and even gave me a hug every time I came in for my appointments - now that's some next-level customer service. Overall, Dr. Evan and his team are the real deal. They're highly skilled, and compassionate, and make going to the dentist a lot less terrifying. Trust me, if you're looking for a top-notch dentist, these guys are the ones to call. Don't miss out on the chance to have an exceptional dental experience - hit up Dr. Avens and his team ASAP.

Absolute waste of my time, would give 0 stars if I could. Firstly, I had an appointment at 4pm and was not sat until around 5pm. In my appointment notes I put exactly what I was there for: my jaw joint is dislocated which is causing pain, two specific teeth have been sensitive for almost two years, and I need a cleaning. At the end of the appointment after going back and forth with the "doctor" for an hour, she concluded that my jaw joint was dislocated and that was causing me pain, her prescription was a retainer and to sit on it for 4-6 weeks? The "doctors" immediate recommendation was also Botox and a surgery. They care more about selling procedures than actually fixing what's wrong. Also the two teeth that were sensitive were apparently fine and I was just hallucinating, and no cleaning was done due to their delayed appointment. Absolute embarrassment and waste of my time.

I am currently getting Invisalign with them. They state on their website that they would schedule follow ups for the treatment to check on progress. Well, I just went to the *ONLY* follow up for my whole treatment and they weren’t gonna have me see a dentist. They were just gonna give me the complete rest of the trays (so what if something wasn’t working then? New trays would have to be printed ?). I asked to see a dentist, and I might as well not have… she just looked at my teeth and said, “perfect, they’re moving”. Why charge so much if you’re basically smile direct with an added inconvenience of going to pick up the trays - there’s no extra care here at all. This is not just 1 star thanks to the receptionists and other staff that are actually super nice. It’s the dentists you never see at this dental office.

I have now been to 2 of the SWISH Dental locations and loved both. (S 1st & downtown) They definitely know how to create an experience when it comes to going to the dentist. I provided them with current issues or questions I had about my teeth and the cleaning. They took them seriously and made sure my experience was one of a kind. I was shown all the images they took of my mouth, explained what they were for, and where I measured on the results/ explained the treatment plan in layman terms. I am one of “those girls” when it comes to going to the dentist.. it’s scary, it’s my smile, I know my pain points and they don’t… This is a top of the line experience, just be honest and upfront about your concerns. They take them seriously and do everything they can to make it the best experience. 10 out of 10

UPDATED REVIEW: I’m updating my review due to a conversation I had with the manager of the downtown office. He was very kind to reach out and inquire about my first experience at Swish. He also helped me schedule an earlier appt that was more convenient for me which was very much appreciated, and feel that I’ll be taken care of moving forward. Original review: Swish definitely has the setup catering to millennials. It has a boutique type feel for the dentist and aim to provide best in class service as if they’re more of a retail shop rather than a provider of clinical treatment. They’re too focused on the frills instead of actually providing efficient care. They’re more concerned with upwelling patients additional aspects of their treatment plans, and it’s exhausting and frustrating.

Swish downtown is located inside a bank building- important to know as you drive around looking for this space. There is a small blue neon sign that indicates Swish location. Street parking or public garage parking is available. Overall my experience was informative and pleasant however they insist their lengthy questionnaire is filled out prior to appointment. These forms take up to 30 mins to go over. First appointment takes over an hour due to multiple XRays and examinations. There is no angle of your mouth they will not capture with their multiple machines. It is a clean modern environment with state of the art equipment. Workers are upbeat, intelligent and know their dentistry- Membership price is $200 w/out insurance for 2 thorough exams, X-rays and 2 cleanings.

I just moved to Austin from Indiana and was a little nervous to go to a new dentist. However, the super clean office and friendly staff made it exciting to have a new dentist! Riley was super efficient and informative with my Invisalign consultation and made me feel welcomed and comfortable during the process. He went above and beyond and exceeded my expectations with any dental assistant I have ever interacted with, a great guy! Also, Doctor Nessler was also insanely nice and really took the time to understand my goals with my teeth. I was shocked by my experience and when checking out Kristy and another lady were very helpful and took the the time to get to know me. Looking forward to my Invisalign journey and future cleanings at this office! Definitely recommend!

I went in for a cleaning after moving to downtown Austin a few months ago. While the staff was extremely friendly and nice the experience was more about finding a litany of things they could upsell me on and not cleaning my teeth (which didn’t happen). All the x rays, pictures and scans took about 30 minutes. I sat in the chair waiting for another 35 minutes and then had to schedule another appointment a month out to get the cleaning I thought I was getting but instead presented with a $3,000 treatment plan. Before ever working with them or so much as having a simple cleaning to build any trust in the dentist/office. They also make you pay half up front to even schedule which I had never experienced before.

Had my first experience with Swish about 2-3 weeks since their opening. Finding the clinic is a little tricky as you have to go through a side door not nearest to the clinic, but once in it was really nice. The clinic is brand new and the decor is all very high end. Rather than the dentist offices that I’m used to that can sometimes be intimidating in nature with harsh lighting, this instead felt comfortable and dare I say, actually relaxing. The staff was incredibly nice including the assistants, hygienist and dentist and made for a welcoming visit that I’m actually looking forward to my follow-up. A really great clinic for fellow downtown dwellers who would like to go to a place they can walk to

I usually go to the South 1st location, but had to take the first open spot I could find, which so happened to be at the Downtown location. I was a little nervous about going to a different location, but the Swish team made everything seamless and easy! They gave me great, clear parking instructions and only had me wait for 3min in the lobby before getting seen by a dentist. By the way, Dr. John was wonderful! He did a great overall check on my teeth, gave wonderful and approachable recommendations on how to better them, and sat patiently with me while I asked questions. Swish does a great job at upholding every location to an exceptionally high standard and each team delivers.

First impressions are really important and even though I showed a bad one through coming late(snooze button took a beating), the folks are amazing. Upon completing my new patient form and getting checked in, They gave me a tour of the office, the rooms, and upcoming areas. Once i got into my room, I was given access to netflix while they checked my teeth. While they were collecting data on my teeth, I got introduced to the dentists that will be working with me on my operations. New patient sign up did take 2 hours but I did enjoy myself the whole time. I have an operation planned for next week, will update if my rating changes but i have a good feeling that i am in good hands.

I had the new patient exam and regular dental cleaning today. The clinic and equipment are great. The staffs there are very nice and friendly, would explain every step before they start doing the check or scanning the teeth etc. The hygiene check is very helpful. It is appreciated that the lady proactively asked me if I want to do the fluoride treatments which is not usually covered in the insurance rather than do it directly without asking me. After I was done with the dental cleaning, they already reached my insurance company and summarized the pricing of some treatments mentioned during the hygiene check for me. This is really efficient and helpful service!

Everyone at this office is fantastic. They made my first visit to a dentist in ~5 years (I'm not exactly proud of this btw!) as painless and transparent as possible, explaining everything they were doing, why they were doing it, and ways I can protect my teeth on my own time. The cleaning was fantastic, and the filling treatment for a cavity was as painless as they could make it. Again, the staff, from the front desk to the hygienists to the dentist, made this a positive experience for me and actually got me eager to improve my oral health in the future. Plus the location is very convenient, and the office is clean and new. Cannot recommend them enough!

I was visiting Austin for a conference and the wire on my fixed retainer that had been in place for 20 years broke leaving sharp edges that were cutting up my tongue. I called Swish over lunch and spoke with a wonderful staff member who said I could come right away. I dropped what I was doing, walked over from my hotel, got checked in and the rest of my fixed retainer taken off. And I was back to my hotel in time for my next meeting. This was an INCREDIBLE dental experience. If I lived in Austin I’d def go here for regular dental care;). Thanks to the Swish team for saving my trip - would have been VERY miserable with a cut up tongue all weekend!

I have been to Swish in downtown ATX quite a few times since moving to Austin in August! Unfortunately, I had to have 2 cavities re-done after my dentist in the PNW filled them 6 months prior. All of my questions and concerns have been answered by the front desk staff, and dentists I’ve seen at swish since I have started coming in. After having my fillings filed down twice after my initial appointment I am not having any pain, and I am so grateful they found the issues my previous dentist missed. Going to the dentist normally is not a super enjoyable thing however, the team at swish makes it an easy & seamless process that I am thankful for!

Nicole has been my hygienist for my last two visits and has been very considerate in her process, asking if I was having any discomfort during the cleaning, answering my questions, and just being wonderfully pleasant, throughout. I highly recommended. Also, I had the “pleasure”’of having my first crown, months ago, and it fits like a glove. The dentist and his assistant were very reassuring and sensitive to my comfort during the procedure. The entire staff, including Joseph in billing/finance have always been incredibly personable. Leave your anxiety at the door! I’ve had nothing but great experiences.

I previously had a bad review, then improved because they reached out and helped me resolve the issue, but further visits to other dentists have soured me. I got a crown here (which I had a whole myriad of issues getting). However in the time it took to get + the adjustment have caused significant bite issues that are creating more and more dental problems which cost me a lot more money. In addition, despite offering me a discount on the crown for my troubles, I got a surprise bill that was almost $1000 months later. In an effort to have a laid back image, other aspects suffer. consider other options

My most recent experience at this location was disappointing. The dentist came in after my cleaning and did not speak to me. All comments were directed to the dental tech. After seeing an issue on my tooth, he did not ask me about it, inform me of the issue, or seek to engage me at all. He looked at the tech and said "we're going to fill that" and then poked a few of the teeth and left. No explaining the process, what he found, checking of my bite or addressing the sensitivity I came in with. I am sure the other dentist are fine, but Dr. Evan seemed to not care or be interested at all.

Scheduled online for the first time. Got blown up with 7 texts in 24 hours. Asked to be taken off the texting list only to be continuously texted. I went in as a new patient for a cleaning. Then spent an hour and half of my day for them to tell me they didn’t have time to do the cleaning. Insurance coordinator was rude and told me she didn’t have my insurance info when I uploaded it. Then required I put a $50 deposit for my cleaning appointment? Later I got a treatment plan texted to me for over $1000. Not impressed at all and would recommend going somewhere else. Waste of time.

Visited Swish downtown location today for the first time. Dr. Nessler and her team are absolutely fabulous. It was the most thorough dental experience and for a very reasonable price. Full X-rays, cleaning, exam, whitening all for $199 and you get another cleaning in 6 months. (I don’t have insurance at the moment) the facility is brand new, immaculate, modern, great energy. Very professional team, from the receptionist who asked what Netflix show I wanted to watch during my cleaning, to each person throughout the visit. Just a very happy group servicing patients. I’ll be back!

I won’t be going back to Swish. Despite explaining to the hygienist that I was physically unable to receive X-rays in my mouth (as communicated with previous Swish employees over the past two years), she insisted on trying. For me, it was akin to torture—I have had an extreme gag reflex to this procedure for years (as I told the hygienist). After several painful, unsuccessful attempts, I couldn’t take any more. She refused to accommodate me with the external X-rays provided to me there and at previous providers in the past. Complete lack of sensitivity to a patient’s needs.

I had been going there for two years and spent a lot of money getting cleanings and xrays. Last Month I wasted my time coming in to find out they refuse to do a cleaning and referred me to a specialist. I went to Westgage Family Dental, where they have been in business since 1979! They were able to do a deep cleaning and took xrays. They found 4 cavities, which was never told to me by Swish! Unbelievable that they are terrible at assessing teeth! But that's what you get when you go somewhere that has a revolving door! Don't waste your money here!

Would highly recommend Dr Nessler, she is great!! Visited multiple times and felt like the staff was accommodating and knowledgable. Got a cleaning and my teeth scanned on the first visit, they have a really great machine to show an in depth scan of your teeth. Second visit I had old fillings from a previous dentist years ago changed out for new one, Dr Nessler was very personable and efficient with the procedure! Felt very comfortable and informed! Again, 10/10 would recommend Dr Nessler for any of my dental work, high quality!!

Great dentist and staff it doesn’t feel like a normal depressing dentist office at all. Music is always playing Netflix is provided for their patients. Water/ sparkling water was provided as well and the staff and the doctor seemed like you can actually be friends with them. Best doctors office I have ever been to! The environment feels like family. Now, every time when I go it will feel like an event to gather with friends I haven’t seen in a while rather than a depressing visit to a doctors office.

I cannot say enough about swish. I went almost 20 years without seeing a dentist and they welcomed me with open arms. I don’t have insurance so I got their plan to help with some basics. What I love most is how comfortable they make me feel and also how they explain everything in a way that makes it easy to understand. Moreover, I wanted to completely redo my top teeth with veneers and Dr Nessler said she’d be happy to but thought it was really unnecessary as I have really good bones. Such integrity.

I went in for a cleaning and spent 1.5 hours in the chair talking to various dentists before they let me know that as a new patient, I would have to come back a second time for a cleaning and that this was an evaluation appointment. They quoted me close to $5,000 for a treatment plan that included 4 “cavities” and a laser treatment on my gums. I got 2 (TWO) second opinions and I have no cavities and my gums are fine. Such a scam and a waste of time.

Swish Dental Downtown was an amazing experience today. No paperwork because you add your info online before the appointment. Also, there was no waiting between arrival, X-rays, photo imaging, analysis with the Dentist and cleaning. Their technology is the newest in the field and the staff are friendly and professional. Even if you don’t have insurance, all of the above is $350. You’re worth it. Take care of your teeth. Wonderful dentist office!

Had my first appointment with swish today and it was such a fantastic experience! The staff are super polite and friendly, plus very efficient and professional. The office is clean and well kept, with really nice high tech equipment. They explained everything they were going through clearly, and answered all of my questions throughly. Not only was it convenient and close to my office but it was the prettiest dentist office I’ve ever been to and so high tech. Personal tv with Netflix during my appointment, cool scans of my teeth, compassionate care from my hygienist, and a comprehensive plan on how to begin improving my smile. I’ll definitely be going back!

I really enjoyed how modern the office is! Not only in aesthetics but also in operations — I appreciate being able to correspond with the team through text (no more avoiding calls wondering “who’s number is this?” Plus, I can reply asynchronously). The staff is also super friendly and informative. They gave me a thorough review and even showed me a pressure map of my teeth. Highly recommend!!

My teeth look great and I love the downtown facility. The one thing that was off to me today was that a dentist never came by to check in with me and look at my teeth. I just had a hygienist clean them and I left. It stuck out to me because I’ve never been to a dentist office where where a dentist didn’t show their presence. I’m hoping this isn’t the case in the future when I come back in August.

My experiences with Swiish Dental have been all positive. It’s a clean, friendly and professional atmosphere. Their use of technology and techniques making dentist visits almost fun. Upbeat music and a movie while having procedures really helps take the stress away. This was probably the first time I’ve had a completely pain free dentist visit ever! These guys are great at what they do! Very friendly and professional staff, and clean environment. They set you at ease and make you feel comfortable. You can even watch Netflix or a movie if you'd like! My dental hygienists was very knowledgeable, she knew what she was doing, was gentle and thorough. With locations all over austin, I definitely recommend them.

Hygienist was slow and I was in the chair for an hour and forty five minutes. My dentist moved and I was not notified until a different dentist walked in. Not really sure the aesthetic appeal and the ease of making appointments makes up for the lack of a good patient-provider experience. Not bad, but I’ll probably go back to a more traditional experience.

I had a cosmetic filling done on my canines, the dentist did a terrible job. It was all rough and brittle, a piece chipped a day after it was done. I requested it to be redone, they accommodated my request and paired me with a better dentist, no charge. But the first occurrence should have never taken place. Make sure the dentist you see is experienced.

Visits to a dentist are not usually pleasant but my check up at Swish Dental Downtown really was. The staff are pleasant, knowledgeable and efficient, plus they have all the latest gadgets to see exactly what is going on with your teeth without needles, or uncomfortable and horrible tasting items in your mouth. Walked out with a smile on my face.

Parking available in the building which made parking downtown a breeze. They are now my dential office of choice in Austin. So glad to have found them.

Loved my experience here. Very high tech, and everyone was friendly and took the time to explain things to me and show me exactly what they were referring to via my scans and X-ray. They were very honest about what I needed, what I didn’t need, the state of my teeth, and how I can continue maintaining the health of my teeth and gums.

Dr. Nessler is a really great dentist. Very knowledgeable and a great communicator. She really went the extra mile when I had a dental emergency while out of town. Swish Dental downtown has the most beautiful space and extremely up to date with all the latest technology! I had a dental cleaning here and they fixed my bottom retainer. Both appointments were a breeze! I truly can’t say enough good things about this office especially the assistant I had, Allie. She was exceptional!

Friendly and patient staff. I had an unusual case because I had to transfer Invisalign which caused some confusion; however, throughout the process, the staff was always helpful and patient, making sure to keep me up-to-date on what needed to get done and communicating any changes to me. Swish dentals downtown location is a life saver!! I live next door so it’s convenient to walk to and they were able to get me in for an emergency appointment same day! I have had 4 visits so far with Swish: 3 cleanings and an extraction. I have to say, this has so far been the best dental experience I have ever received. All of the Hygienists, Assistants, Front Desk and Dentists have been wonderful, and my teeth look and feel amazing. Super happy I chose Swish.

They have TVs and you can put on your favorite show while you’re sitting in the seat. Very friendly and nice staff! Definitely seems like targeting a younger crowd. I was very comfortable there and the dentist knew his stuff and was very easy to understand and talk to.

Dr Evans is a magician with the special touch you find few and far between with dentistry anywhere outside of Swish. Impressive isn’t the right term. Hard to find the words of gratitude for all that they have done for me. Certainly wouldn’t dare going anywhere else!

It's always a relief to not dread the Dentist. Downtown Swish is efficient and professional, as you would expect, but the customer service is above and beyond. The staff is always in a good mood, and I can imagine why with EDM playing all day. Thanks y'all!

I really hate going to the dentist in general, but I had a good experience here. It's a nice office, the staff is very friendly, and medical professionals seem to be very competent. I was a new patient but I will certainly be coming back here in the future.

Swish has been consistently friendly, professional, accommodating, while providing great care. They have been upfront about costs and don’t push an cosmetic services. I’ve been able to relax while at the dentist while watching an entire episode on Netflix.

Great environment, pleasant people, all the workers were really nice and understanding of the fact that I haven’t been to the dentist in a few years. They had a TV and let me choose what show to put on which helped me stay distracted!
