Every time I visit I am greeted by the friendly staff at the door and asked if I need assistance. Off the bat the staff make it easier to speed run the experience if desired or required. All the staff I’ve dealt with are staff knowledgeable with the products and are a great resource. They often make valid points when trying to find a solution to an issue. Furthermore their impartial nature towards brands is also highly admirable. I’ve never had a bad experience at the store, I have encountered stock shortages and long wait times for items to become available, however it is fairly common everywhere with the current climate. My favourite item I have purchased from Sydney tools has to be the makita coffee maker. Pair this with the food warmer that runs from Milwaukee batteries and long days, cold mornings, overnight trips and now family outings are a breeze. These were particularly useful during the metro and regional service restrictions we faced. To point out how genuinely friendly and helpful the staff are, after shopping at the Bunnings next door I was returning to my work vehicle in the rain. There was a car with a flat tyre in the Bunnings car park, quite a long way from the Sydney tools store and certainly not a customer of theirs. The occupants of the car were receiving assistance from another chap when I arrived. The chap assisting was unable to crack 2 of the lug nuts, he said something and drove off. One occupant was on the phone to roadside and was told 3hours minimum. I prompted if they needed assistance. Being a fat dude I was able to crack the last few lug nuts when I saw the redshirt carrying a Dewalt impact wrench marching across the car park in the rain. It was a member of Sydney tools to the rescue. The heroic saviour realised he had the wrong size socket, said he would be back and marched back to the store in the rain. At this stage the first chap had returned and took over. Not wanting to impose any further I packed up and readied for departure. I saw in the distance that red shirt carrying that awful yellow and black tool, true to his word returning in the rain with the correct size socket.
Do not buy for Sydney Tools. I purchased a Makita drill set. The set included a hammer drill, impact driver, two batteries and a charger. On the first use of the drill 24hrs later, the head of the drill broke off from the main body of the drill. This is regarded as a major Fault I promptly returned the drill to the store and requested either a refund or a replacement. Of which I know under Australian consumer law is my right for a major fault (also confirmed by Consumer Affairs on the phone). They said it must be returned to Makita for repair. I asked to speak to the manager, of which he understood my problem but didn't have the power to do anything. He suggested I call head office. I called head office and the customer service rep said the same thing. Sorry, I don't have the authorization to do a refund or replacement. They then directed me to send an email. So I sent an email, askingg a replacement or refund but no answer from them. You can not get any one to talk to you with any authorization to do a refund or replacement Its been 3 weeks since this started. No word from Sydney Tools even about the repair. Sydney Tools should be ashamed of its self. Go to Bunnings where you can and at least they will give you a replacement.
Purchased a product from this store. Upon using that product, it was faulty. Took it back to the store and was advised it would need to be assessed. 3 weeks later and mulitple phone calls to the store, we were told a part would need to be ordered from Husqvana and should be there by the end of the week. Rang on the Friday only then to be told its on backorder and would now take another further 4-6 weeks for the part to arrive. Advised we couldn't wait that long as it would be close to 10 weeks and would either accept a replacement or refund to be told that would not be possible and we would have to wait! Noone returns calls and its up to the individual to contact the store for updates otherwise you have absolutely no idea on the status. Pls before you think about purchasing anything from this store be aware that if that brand new product you purchase is faulty no refund or replacement will be provided an you will just have to wait for the product to be repaired! Do not recommend Sydney tools to any Consumers based on this experience
Product was not instore so ordered online for delivery to Sunshine store. Received email confirmation next day that order was dispatched. Called to Sunshine store to enquire on order several days later, told it would be there 2 days later told me they would call. Followed up again one week later, told it was only delivered that day. Told that it would be ready for collection first thing next day. Went instore next day in evening, still not found. Discussed with other team member, assured me they would call when dispatch got to my item. Indicated latest by Sat/Sun (3 days). Waited further 1.5 weeks still no call. Finally I called again, yes item is ready for collection. No apology, no care, no process. Strongly recommend against in store delivery Sydney Tools and in particular Sunshine store are unable to manage their customer orders.
Went to buy tools and went to pay. One staff with a customer and the customer was on the phone for for a while, i ask if he could serve me while the customer sort out his personal life. He refused to serve me and just standing there listen out to the customer conversation and said I have to wait for as long as it take otherwise go else where, and that's exactly what I did. Never going to go back to this shop. This shop need a serious look at customer service. I am not saying all staff in this shop are like this. But the one that didn't care like this need to go before you'll need to be close. Cos Total tools is about to open and that's where you guy will see your customer if you want to find them.
Poor customer service. Bought a generator for $2100 returned it the next day as is wasn't working properly. After a few unhappy back and forth phone calls they finally agreed to swap my unit over for one off the shelf. Guess what it's also faulty. After a month waiting for "parts" they called me and told me it was user error. The oil was too low and the valves needed adjusting. Very surprised as I had only used the new generator 1 week. These guys are crooks and only want your money. Once they have it they don't care about what happens. Very unhappy customer. Will never be back and will be spreading the word about the untrustworthyness this store has branded on the Sydney tools name.
RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL STAFF AT THIS STORE I rang this store to follow-up on an item that I returned to this shop for a warranty claim because it was malfunctioning. The staff member who was attending to me was very rude and dismissive. He clearly wasn't willing to assist with my inquiry at all. He then proceeded to hang up the phone on me. I rang back immediately to express my displeasure. I asked for the name of the person whom I had just spoken to and the staff member who had picked up the phone this time declined to reveal the name of the staff member I had just spoken to. It was my first time purchasing an item from them and I won't be going back there.
Yes hi everyone just ordered some goods online and have it delivered.I did Received on Sunday but when I opened the package for the air compressor it was leaking oil in the box as well it was broken. The packaging did not have any information on how to handle the goods so the third party delivery person did not care because their was no information on the package. But I rang my local Sydney tools store in Ballarat rd sunshine.they could have said sorry but you need to contact the online customer service but I was told to bring it in and they replaced it ASAP. and we’re very helpful. So keep up the great work sunshine store
Prices are the same as most places thought I'd give it a try, why not. The customer service is lacking to say the least. Bought a product which was the wrong model so went back next day and got the stink eye from one of the rep then was asked if I'd used it yet which it was not. It made me feel like somebody needed a reason to say bad luck mate, better luck next time. Did exchange for the model I wanted and spent extra getting a spare battery. Not the best 1st experience even though all my coworkers tell me to go to the "other" place I thought I'd give a go. I don't even want to see how they'd deal with warrantees.
Bought some tools for approx $700. Asked some advice for what I needed and got recommended something completely different of what I was looking for. Same day returned two unused items that unfortunately didn’t not fit the purpose for the job. Got told I was going to get a refund on my bank account of about $250. This was the 30th of November. After three phone calls, where in each one I was reinsured to have the refund on my account straight away, today found out that they are unable to process the refund. Doesn’t matter how nice or polite you can be with the staff, feels like they don’t care much.
Always come here to buy tools for my business! Apart from the great deals and power tools (Milwaukee specifically), I also get great customer service, especially from Bradley (the store manager) and Simon, who always treat me like I'm in my own shop. Phone service/ communication is also excellent, as the staff always want to help and resolve any issues. My experience with this store has always been great. Have read other comments about "disappointing service" and "customer is always right", maybe change your attitude, come in with a smile and you will get a smile back. Business is a two-way street!
Only good for in store purchase but online click and collect orders are a absolute joke. Waiting one month for impact driver bit set and multi tool blade still not a single update provided. Called multiple times and being told not yet available. Just last week I head in the store to have a browse and guess what I've found my stock available on floor stock! Not just once this happen but twice. I rather take my business to Bunnings through special orders it gets delivered within a week and you get a call or SMS guarantee. Disappointed Sydney tools what kind of customer service do you provide?!
Unhelpful and rude staff that dont appear to want to offer customer service. They are happy to chat amongst themselves behind the cash register while offering no service. I asked for help to find something "over there mate" in an rude way like dont "dont bother me" Over there in a massive big store! Frankly I wont be going back and I dont feel that I have to treated rudely to give a business money and profit. Their staff seem very selective about who they want to serve and appear to have stereotype filter on when they want selectively be nice and helpful to customers.
I wish I near made an order (click-and-collect) from the Sunshine store. Very poor customer service and managing their store inventory. Items online showing but actually, they don't have and no one from the store will contact you. You have to wait until tired and contact them. When you make an inquiry about it, you will get the reply “Sorry we don't have the item and you should call before making an order, we will refund your money” that’s all. After waiting for a couple of weeks I got this response. I wouldn't recommend Sunshine Sydney tools to anyone.
I tried to purchase some scaffolding. Unfortunately they didn't have the complete set. I was forced to pay the whole amount over $800. After 3 weeks they still didn't have the parts I was waiting for. I decided to get a refund. They refused to refund my credit card and I had to give my bank account. After 3 days I still have not received my refund. I will not recommend payment for any products at Sydney Tools unless they have it in stock otherwise you will be out of pocket with nothing to use and getting a refund is a nightmare.
Great business, great customer service! Recently purchased a heavy duty work bench from these guys, when we received the item, the rear tool holder wall had been heavily damaged through the courier, with no hesitation at all, they were happy to replace the rear section immediately. Most of the dealings were with Gus, who was a great help! When I returned the damage section for an exchange, Gus was away, but the rest of the guys all ready knew the story, and already had the item ready to go! Will definitely go through them again!
The most incapable tool store I've dealt with, can't return a phone call, left me on hold to check an order number for 30 minutes and never came back to the call, placed an order nearly 2 months ago, still don't have it, nothing in store has a price on it. Stood in line for so long waiting to be served, finally got served and when he went to check my order took him literally 20 minutes to come back and tell me he didn't have it. Useless, go across the road to total tools, the staff actually can be bothered doing their job.
Don’t buy anything from here. If it faulty it gonna take you 1-2 months for repairs I bought air compressor. After 3 months the gauges is faulty, bring it back for warranty, they said it gonna take at least 1-2 months for warranty. I can’t wait that long. I need machine for work. They said just buy another gauges replace it buy your self it easy just take out and replace another one and i have to pay for it. But why they don’t replace it? And take 1-2 months? They don’t want to warranty Never buy anything from them again
My father went to purchase a $2000 compressor from a gentleman named Liam at Sydney tools in sunshine. They came to an agreement that a hose kit would be would be included with the compressor. Another worker decided that it would be a good idea to not only ruin Liam's deal, but hurl insults at my father like the hose kit was coming out of his wage. Extremely rude and incapable of running a successful business. This man needs a reality check. Props to Liam though. Stay gentlemanly.
I want to give a big shout to Jerome and the 2 other blokes who was working with him on the 02/12/2020. They made my shopping experience an absolute pleasure and with no BS approach. Their wealth of knowledge has made me make an informed decision to purchase tools for my projects. In addition to this, Jerome was able to explain the specifics of this tool in a way that I understood making my purchasing decision easy to make. Absolutely no pressure at all. A real gentleman.
Ordered something that took 1 month and never came, went there 3 times in that month and each time they have given me excuses. Person didn't order it, then the guy doesn't work there anymore, then I'll contact and ask went it's coming. Fine. So I'll buy something else, waited 2 weeks for a refund for the first item and the first time the guy said refund will be there within 5 days. Found out it was never done. Tell me why it's not reasonable to give you one star?
I have been purchasing most of my trade tools from Sydney Tools Sunshine, because they are very competitive on pricing. Although they have great product range and support when making a new purchase, the warranty process and follow-up calls for orders are poor. I had a poor experience with the warranty process and I had to return a faulty michelin product value $1298 5 times within a year. Also very poor follow-up calls for ETA on pre-orders and warranty claims.
Very bad and unfair treatment, they sold me what was supposed to be a brand new core drilling machine for $1549 that didn't work. I run a coring business so I couldn't do my job. I took it back in less than 24 hours the very next morning and was told it's under warranty and will be sent away, it's been over a month and I'm still waiting. It seems they are only happy to receive your cash but don't help when they mess up and you need help.
Called up Sydney tools sunshine and spoke to a gentleman by the name of kynian in regards to a spare part I needed for a generator. The part I needed was not easy to find but with persistents he came through with the goods after phone calls back and forward and his hard work paid off. Thank you kynian for your professionalism in dealing with customers in tough situations. The generator is up and running beautiful.
Terrible customer service!! Took some tools in to be repaired and was told one drill was not worth fixing because the drill would cost $100 less than a brand new one. I was then told my impact driver “under warranty” wouldn’t be fixed because he put a battery in pulled the trigger a few times and couldn’t see whats wrong with it and that the maintenance guy would do the same and not repair it.
Tried to return a faulty socket and was treated as if I've never used a socket before in my life. Putting that aside i enquired about a battery i paid full amount for 2months ago. Again was told I never mad the order. Told staff to look deeper and turned out i did and was told they never went ahead and ordered it but took my money. What business are you guys running treating tradies idiots.
come here to buy a grinder. the price marked in store is $274 but after made a payment at the counter. the price is $297. they said the price on the shelf is old price, not updated yet. I’m feel not happy and want a refund. but they said I can not get refund back to the credit card I paid, I give them my bank detail and now, after 2 months with multiple call stil not get my money back :(
Hi Sydney tools sunshine. Just dealt with a good unit Liam his mate was a legend too. Sydney tools for the win !!!! Another good experience @ Sydney tools sunshine, dealt with Rocco & Dean, was absolutely stoked that Milwaukee honoured their warranty terms & not only fixed my packout radio but gave me a brand new one ! Sydney tools for the win again!!!!!
Love this store has everything I need. Now totally cleaned up and reorganised great new staff who know their stuff. Spoke and dealt with Kynian the other day completely sorted out my issue I'd been having with some orders for a few months. Made a few phone calls some magic on the computer and done in a blink of an eye. Amazing thanks Champ
Bought a metabo table saw and the leg broke, sent back to sydneh tool in january and havent heard back until i called them in June. They said metabo charges 179 for the repair, i said ok,but nothing happened , i called them every week in august tochase this up,the staffs said they will call metabo but nothing happens! I've called 7 times!
I've got a suggestion for you, maybe put all your tools together! Put all your line trimmers together, put all your drills together...have them in sections. Not by brand. Made it very difficult to shop there & with no service I gave up & went to bunnings. Was in bunnings for less than 5 minutes & walked out with a new line trimmer.
Very poor customer service and the employee there with long red beard miss treat customers there and see him self as a boss, I just want to tell you something "There is no greatest Boss in the world but greatest leaders in the world" Be a leader not a selfish boss. Be nice with customers. Customer is always right …
Dunno how this company still survives. Half a dozen staff in the store with no customers, yet they cannot provide any customer service. Head office is also useless and takes no responsibility or accountability. Thought I'd try to support another hardware company other than Bunnings. Don’t waste your time and money.
I came into the store looking to purchase some Milwaukee cordless tools for an upcoming project. Brad (the store manager) was exceptionally helpful in the way he took the time to go through all the options to make sure my needs were met and in the most cost effective way. Couldn't recommend this store enough!
Stood near the front desks for close to 10 minutes waiting for assistance. Four or five staff members never bothered to look up or help, all avoided looking at me. Only when I made for the exit did someone bother to say anything to me, so they clearly knew I was there. An awful experience. Haven’t been back!
Disappointed with the service from this place. Someone helped me chose this blow torch gun to light a camp fire and it didn’t work when tilted. Store won’t do anything regarding this, when it was one of them that helped me chose this gun to light camp fire? Definitely won’t be purchasing from here in future.
The worst staff placed a click and collect 3 weeks ago for a tool chest they where showing in stock after trying to obtain a time to come collect advised multiple time stock was not there and they would not have in stock for another three weeks. What ever you do stay away from this store the worst ever
Ask for Gus!! Great customer service, great knowledge of the products and really want to make you feel comfortable with any purchase. Gus was happy to accommodate my needs and I left the store full of goodies to help with my Trade, he wouldn't have it any other way. Thanks mate. Thanks Sydney Tools!
They were helpful, but after just being at Hoppers Crossing Sydney Tools, it was a bit flat. The people were nice, the guy with a tattoo sleeve and a big nose was a bit offish at first but the Asian guy who prefers the morning shift was nice. The store is around 1000 sqm, Hoppers is 2000.
I was here for their Trade Night promotion where you get a bonus 20% to splurge based on the amount spent. Tools are well priced and the staff are always there ready to provide assistance. Look for Simon Krug, he is very knowledgeable and efficient, he will definitely look after you!
Very unprofessional and rude sales .I bought a air gun and returned it as it’s faulty and they said they will call me back but never called me for 6 months that was too long for me to borrow from some one so I already bought a new one so I asked for store credit but they are so rude
NEVER SEND YOUR TOOLS HERE TO BE REPAIRED!!!! Dont take anything here that SCOTT in the office is useless never calls you back and tells you lies. They have had my dropsaw since early September 2021 its now early May 2022 and I still don't have it back. I'll never shop here again.
From the minute Steve and I walked into Sydney Tools,we were greeted at the door by Levi, who was very eager to help us. Levi made buying tools a pleasure, hassle free and above all a great communicator. Thanks for your help we will be back.A+A+A+A+A+ Regards Steve and Rose
I asked where to find a particular product and was perfectly directed to it by friendly staff. The website stock numbers were accurate. The store was tidy with everything in it's place. The price was slightly higher than the alternative retailers but they had the stock.
bought a $1000 compressor and it was a dud! took it in 3 times to get fixed and the 4th time they stalled me and was not interested in helping. They take your money and then play around with you until you give up. Had to get it fixed elsewhere cost me $367.00
Awesome shop, the Gus Jerome Christian and staff are great and helpful. They dont try making you change your mind to buy products that they make more profit on or try to up sell you. like lots of other tool shops do. I always go to ‘This’ Sydney tools!!
A massive thanks to Bradley LeGassick and the rest of the staff at the Sunshine store.Very freindly and extremely helpfull.Spent his time advising me and helping me out to choose the right tools for the job.GREAT EXPERIENCE WOULD ALWAYS GO BACK.
Went to TOTAL TOOLS and not 1 staff member came up to talk to me while I stared at compressors for 20 minutes and at least 4 staff walked past me... Went to Sydney Tools and the guys were super helpful! Got what I needed and great service!
Why would you even go here? Bunnings is just next door and they have much better service. Didn’t even get a grunt hello as we walked in and were instead told to leave our bags behind the counter because we looked like thieves? No thanks.
Alleluia! finally some competition to Total Tools. Great customer service not just order takers know what they are talking about the only down side i spent more money than i planned to (LOL). Must visit at least once give them a go!
Their attention to detail for customers needs is pretty poor. Also they are very poor at following up on when parts are ready for collection for customers, usually you have to call several times to find out where your stuff is at.
Simon is friendly staff and help me do the dispatch job, even though the dispatch staff off day Very happy visit Sydney tool sunshine today SIMON is one of best staff in Sydney tool really appreciated thank You …
Shane's a legend very helpful, no BS, just tells ya how it is. Hooked us up with some milwaukee gear. Good advice and knowledge. Some of the other staff were wondering are like lost dogs though. Good store, stock availability???
10/10 for range and 15/10 for service! Levi is an absolute legend of a bloke, for every question I asked he had 2 answers. he even loaded all the tools I bought onto a trolley and loaded them into the car... you can’t beat that!
Have been here only once but didn’t get much help with my issue. The process that the store follows means for me that I could be without a lawn mower for 3-4 months and I had expected a customer service that would avoid that.
I got a killer deal on a respirator. I dealt with Dylan at the Port Melbourne store was incredibly friendly and super helpfull. Had my sorted with exactly what I needed in about 5 minutes. 10/10 will be shopping there again.
Outstanding service, great prices, they have all the tools in stock. I have been purchasing from Sydney Tools for over 10 years. Glad they opened the stores in Melbourne. Keep up the great work Thomas P from Sydney Tools.
Great experience here with Levi who was very helpful and made the expereince smooth and fun. The shop has a good set up and it's easy to find what you need, if you have trouble, the workers are more than happy to help.
No prices on items, saw no discounts on tools when they advertisef that there would be, lack of interest from staff to help you out and rather chat amongst themselves behind the counter. No interest in returning here.
Staff too busy having personal conversations to assist. No masks on staff or customers despite the large number of signs ordering mask wearing. Felt like I was intruding by asking for help and didn't get any anyway.
Issue after issue, was talked down too infront of everyone. Broken equipment and missing parts from the surface cleaner I purchased. Really average experience. Hopefully someone calls me to rectify the experience.
I purchased 7 chest tool boxes paying $12,600 but they keep dragging me delivery more than 3 weeks since I purchased. No good service as well. I waited phone connection long time and no one looking this store...
Not a fn clue, these guys are the laziest employees I've met at a tool store, they just want to do the minimum and get paid. Worst service and disappointing knowledge. Better off at United tools or trade tools.
Scott was incredibly helpful, I've been shopping around for ages for tools and he spent time to go through the most suitable combination Milwaukee pack. I would recommend talking to him if you ever need tools
Ticketed price on toolbox was $639 but wanted to charge me $849 when scanned very disappointed, no response from head office when contacted them, i thought all stores had to honour there ticketed prices
Great service for a busy place, your also able to get purchases posted interstate in-store, If product are available at your state stores, definitely saves the trouble of taking on the plane …
Always come here for my tools and as a apprentice they always take care of me which is all anyone can ask. Big thanks to ky definitely should receive a pay rise or atleast a couple free tools :)
Terrible service. Asked 3 times for help while all the staff stayed at the front counter eating KFC. Walked out, their lose as was about to kit my son who is about to start an apprenticeship
Great service! Good team. Scott is a champion! Exceptional service and care. Good communication and very professional. Always working hard to help the customer out. Highly recommended!
These guys have the best service and knowledge in the industry. Gus has now helped me with heaps of tools and equipment and always supplies quality goods on time, a real professional.
Extremely impressed with Jerome. He was friendly, professional, extremely knowledgeable and patient with our questions... WITHOUT pressuring any up-selling. Excellent customer service
The warranty is not good. My saw (festool)is damaged, bring it to service. 6 months I came 4 times to ask about it, the last time the staff told me to "you contact with festool".
Excellent experience! Made a large purchase, super happy with the end product and friendly customer service. Was served by Gus, absolute professional, will be heading back!
Helpful and knowledgeable staff, good variety of quality tools, a little expensive but they have regular sales and deals which make up for it. Can get very busy at times.
Excellent service and advice from the friendly team at Sydney tools Sunshine branch processed my order quickly and was notified for pick up for next day no delays.
Ordered some masks late night and got a call early morning on nextday. Come to pick up and then end up with buy more lol. Love this store and will come back again
Fantastic service. Big thanks to Brayden and the team at Sydney Tools Sunshine. Brayden went above and beyond to get my purchase out to me. Highly recommend.
Served by Levi. Very good shopping experience. Absolutely got all I need. Nice sales consultant and will be back since it is very close to our workshop.
Worst customer service ever. Brought a 2.5k tool box 5 months ago. Hasn’t been delivered. Asked the store to refund multiple times and hasn’t happened
Every time I go to this particular branch of Sydney Tools it's a mistake. The staff at this branch are absolutely hopeless. Do not go to this branch.
Great range of excellent quality products. Need to lift their game on customer service. Get this going and it will be a great place to shop.
Excellent staff and shop is great. Huge selection of tools, and I haven't been able to find better prices in victoria... Go Sydney Tools!
Sebastian is the guy you need to talk to for anything welding related, service at this store is great and all the team are very helpful.
I love this place. The go to store for all your tool needs. The staff are friendly, knowledgable and courteous.
Big thanks to one of the staff who didn’t hesitate to help us find a window cover.
Awesome store with knowledgeable staff. Ethan went above and beyond. Will be back
Called up got what I wanted and was had great service
Poor customer service Staff are rude
Good customer service
