On Oct 04, I made an appointment for digital perm on Nov 16 (which is the earliest possible weekend for hair perm). But on Nov 6, I got an email from Ten Pachi telling me that "(there is) only one digi-perm machine being available and 2 other digi-perms going on at the same time we have to reschedule your appointment for a different day". This is so unacceptable after I have waited for a month for an appointment. They told me that they did call me on Oct 24 and leave a voicemail informing me about the situation. Well, obviously I did not get the message so I never contact them back. I try to schedule a new appointment with them but the next available appointment that is not on regular 9-5 working hours is Dec 21. So, obviously, they have a broken appointment system. 1). They overbook their customers on the same day. 2). They inform their customer 3 weeks after a confirmed appoint that there is a conflict in the appointment. 3). It takes them another 2 weeks, which is 1.5 week before the actual appointment day to reach out their customer again for their own mistake. To be honest, if it is not this damn hard to get an appointment, I won't be this angry. But I settle for an appointment that is 1.5 month away from the day I booked the appointment and end up have to wait for almost another two months is just not acceptable. Very unprofessional. I don't feel like they value their patron at all.

Very very furious experience. Very irresponsible attitude. Scheduled online one month earlier. Arrived and told me I don’t have an appointment. Told me the scheduling system has been having issues and it’s not their problem. Me: it’s not my problem. And you say it’s not your problem. Whose problem is it? Ten Pachi: it’s the scheduling system’s issue. We can’t do anything, all stylists are booked up for today. There’s nothing we can do, just go home. Sure, then don’t use you scheduling system. I waited for a month and I have plans scheduled after the haircut. I got furious and the front desk consulted someone and offered me a free haircut next time. Sure, wait another month, no big deal right? Absolutely unprofessional and irresponsible. A couple solutions I provide for Ten Pachi: 1. Stop using your appointment system 2. Have notice on your website to ask your customer to call to check in after they schedule online. Leaving this comment here for their improvements purpose. Let me know if you made any improvements and I will remove this comment.

I have been looking for a reliable hair salon in Seattle for many years, and decided to try this salon my daughter recommended. Yes, this salon is always busy, and I used to wait until the last minute to call, which had prevented me from going there, even though I had good experience with their services before. Recently I called and they actually managed to see me within 30 minutes ( since some else had to reschedule her appointment ). The hairdresser was very nice but very efficient; she quickly asked what I liked and completed my haircut exactly the way I was looking for, and even better- I was awed for their skills and professional performance and couldn't help going back to them for next appointment. Yes I need to make appointments in advance- one week or two, and be patient during the waiting period, but it is worthwhile. Thanks, staff in Ten Pachi ; thanks for the lady who just spent a heartwarming effort to arrange my next appointment; best wishes and see you soon!

I've been very conflicted about writing a review for this salon. The place itself is small but is clean, modern, and has a lovely atmosphere. My friend went and got her haircut here and the stylist did an amazing job. I was so impressed by the cut that i decided to drop in and get a walk in bang trim a few hours later. I didn't get the same stylist that she did but i didn't mind. Unfortunately, i got the worst bang trim of my life! I wanted to keep my swoop bangs but somehow i ended with extremely short, choppy straight bangs that I'm still trying to grow out because they're so unflattering for my round/square face shape. I can't be too mad because it was only $10 but it was still disappointing because i had such high hopes for this place. I'd give this place 5 stars if i could because my friend looked so amazing, but I'd have to rate this a -1 based on my experience, thus my 2 stars as an average as above.

Kai was my hairdresser at Ten Pachi. I don't speak japanese even thought their site seems to say that Kai prefers Japanese speaking client? Kai has attention to details and worked meticulously with my hair. I had a haircut and a full head highlights from him. He layered carefully my hair for the cut, and separated the hair to many small strands for the highlights, given that I have a lot of hair, it must be really tiring... He was very gentle with me. He was also realistic and told me that it would be hard to fully make my black hair into silver. Showed me the picture of what I should expect instead. And it did turned out that way. I appreciate that. I like his way of working, with great care and attention to details!

Went here after they implemented new COVID-19 procedures. Clients were spaced out, the front desk had a plastic barrier, and I was required to wash my hands and have my temperature taken. I came with freshly washed hair. My hairdresser, Yuki, wore gloves and a mask. I have been here previously and have also gotten a cut from Yuki. She's very good at listening to what you want and the end result is almost always what I asked for. I also don't really like small talk when getting my hair cut and I really liked that she didn't push for more convo lol. 4+ weeks later, I have no noticeable symptoms of the virus and I'm satisfied with my cut!

It was my first time have my hair done here. I can tell the quality of the service varies depends on different hair stylist. I was not lucky and had probably the worst stylist there. She gave me a dated style despite I have told her the style I want. The worst part was when she was dyeing my hair, she put the front hair directly on my face, which burnt my cheeks. The skin of that part stayed red and sensitive for two weeks. I’m sure they have professional stylists work there, but I’m afraid I can’t give it a second try.

Do NOT waste your time if you are a professional who does not work near UW. I was held up by work and called in advance that I would be 15 minutes late. Receptionist said that's ok so I still Ubered here, only to get REJECTED. THEY SHOULD HAVE LET ME KNOW ON THE CALL so I didn't have to come out in the middle of a work day and WASTE MY TIME! Total round trip was 1 hour, and uber cost $30. They are not professional enough in scheduling, and they clearly do not respect your time and schedule as a customer.

Update: I went back to get it fixed and even though it’s not what I hoped for the staff was so nice and did their best to help out. Previous: I feel sad writing this because the stylist was kind but every time I look in the mirror I start crying so something needs to be said. My hair is noticeably uneven with one side longer than the other, the ends are very thick and clumpy, and overall it’s a bit shorter than I requested. I’m devastated... what I expected to be a simple haircut has upset me deeply

this salon is a disaster, I went there in the summer, and they signed a stylist who cant speak English at all, I did digital perm, and it lasted 2 weeks, I negotiated with them, they let me redo it, after long waiting, they let someone else did it, it lasted a bit longer, and I contacted them again, they said I need to do after perm consultation, I was traveling so I missed it, then I contacted them again, they gave me a ton of excuses, and refused to do anything. DONT come here, i paid $300+

They have pretty reasonable prices for the service that they offer especially with Kei. He has a lot of experience with Asian hair in Tokyo but he's not even charging senior stylist pricing. The chairs are super super uncomfortable, my legs dangled the whole time and my butt hurt so much. The fact that I got digital perm didn't help because i had to stay there for like 2.5 hours. My back, legs, neck, and butt hurt so much the next few days. No parking, so go there early if u go with a car.

I don't go here often, maybe 2 or 3 times a year. My daughter recommended TenPachi when she attended UW. I had my hair done by Dot, Yuki and Ingrid before. I love all the different hairstyles that I've gotten. Ingrid is my go to hairstylist now because she's always available on the days that we go to the city. Overall TenPachi is a great, clean, hair salon with talented stylists and reasonable rates. And they definitely have the small, intimate and friendly vibe.

The people here are rude and unprofessional. I would not recommend this place to anyone. First of all the location is in a obscure place and there is no proper sign board to identify this place if you are driving. I went 10 mins late for my appointment as there were road closures on the entire stretch leading to this place. I was denied service. More than denial it was the behavior of the staff that annoyed me. Save yourself some time and avoid this place.

Got a haircut today after many months of waiting due to covid. I walked out with hair shorter than I asked for, but overall, it still looks nice and I am satisfied. I think bringing a picture next time would help. I also think the price is too high given the services included. I do understand the need to raise prices because of covid, but since there was no shampooing or blow drying hair afterwards, it was rather steep. Just something to be aware of.

I called to ask about a perm consultation, stating upfront that I have a full bleach and tone and fantasy colors in my hair, and that's why I wanted a consult. I was given an appointment time for the following week, made the 45 minute trip to the salon, walked in and got turned away immediately because my hair is bleached? Unprofessional, and a waste of my time, energy, and money when they could have told me as much over the phone.

A very clean and friendly salon that my partner recommended to me. This was the first time I had been to a salon, so I was a little intimidated, but everyone was very inviting and kind! The scheduling was easy and everything was very streamlined for a good experience! Kei, who cut my hair, was very nice and attentive. I showed them a picture of the style I wanted and they did a fantastic job! I couldn't have imagined any better!

This place is clean, modern and reasonably priced IMHO. I have been going to Saori and sometimes Ingrid for a couple years and they have been providing quality service consistently. Make sure to plan in advance because appointments may not be available on short notice (less than 2 weeks). Blow dry is not included in "haircut only" appointments, but it's free to use dryers and products at the style bar after your haircut.

For 20 bucks (+5 for tip) I got a great haircut and shampoo job. The guy who shampoos knows how to really scrub your scalp and it was amazing. The stylist was genuine and knowledgeable. I have never tried this cut but I definitely like it. The front desk girl is simply great. The only complaint would be the chairs. They look cool but they are not that comfy for a tall guy to sit in.

I called to make an appointment and they gave me an appointment about one month from now. Then they suddenly called me this morning at 11am, saying there is an appointment at 12:50am. I lived far away and don’t have have a car. I took two buses and traveled for one hour. When I arrived. They told me I am 25 mins late and they will not take me as a customer today. I am furious.

Really enjoyed my experience here. Saori met with me for a “pre-perm consult” and we talked through options so we both knew what I wanted. I have yet to go back for a cut, but am happy with my perm and the gals there were all nice and it’s very reasonably priced for the quality and time spent! They have a blow dry bar that you can use yourself if you want to save some money.

Just had my hair cut and styled by Kei. I came in with some shaggy head of hair. Showed Kei picture of what I'd like to have done. In a matter of moments he was going in on my head of hair. Needless to say, it came out perfectly. I went in for a new style and came out with an amazing look and getting a ton of compliments. Looking forward to the next appointments!!

Highly recommend the stylist Kai for Japanese hairstyle and straightening. I have been looking for a stylist who knows how to deal with natural curvy Asian hair and he is the one the best. He is super detailed, very gentle when washing my hair and drying it. I did hair straightening and hair cut and it is so smooth and looks so good afterward. 5 stars!!

I went to the salon asking for blow dry and i end up with doing my hair with straightener!!! The lady was doing her minimum efforts even after telling her that it will not work with my hair type. I went back home and redo it again !!! Never back to this salon nor recommending it to anyone. Her work quality doesn’t deserve the amount I paid.

Had an appointment with mizuki and she did an amazing job! Very professional - speedy, efficient, not too chatty(lol. I appreciate that) cut my hair perfectly to the length I need and explained how she did some layers. It was quite nice (after no salon for almost 2 years!) would love to do some color and curl also…maybe next time :)

I had the best experience getting a straight perm from Ingrid! She went over my hair several times to make sure it got really straight which I really appreciate. My hair is so silky and smooth and even after spending so much time on my hair, gave me a quick bang trim. I will definitely be back, it’s a wonderful salon.

I've been going to Stella since Ten Pachi opened...10+ years and they are still my go-to. She did my hair when I got married and I trust her with everything. If you're looking for a good colorist, you'll find one at Ten Pachi. But book early because they have many loyal customers who are on the schedule regularly!

Going back for my second haircut. It's a popular spot. Bumped into a friend of mine who was also waiting for a haircut when I walked in, and I've always loved her hair. I'm often critical when it comes to my hair care, but I was impressed with Stella's work (haircut). Overall a quality experience.

I got a Japanese Straight Perm from Kei. Excellent service, great results. I have long hair and I got done in 3 hours, the rates are very reasonable. The only downside is I had to schedule my appointment a month in advance. I'd def go there again and recommend to friends

Everyone was very nice and polite, but the outcome of what I want was very disappointing. The perm was horrifying and it's like sitting there for 3 hours for nothing. My hairdresser had to put so much hair product to give my hair more volume. Just my personal experience.

Mizuki did this cute Japanese style for me. I love it. I had terrible haircut experiences in US. I was not sure whether TEN PACHI will be good. But now I am sure it is good. If you are like me, Asian girl who want some cute hairstyle then TEN PACHI is the place ❤️❤️.

I’ve had my hair cut and color 3 times here, with Yuki and Ingrid. They both do a good job. I let them know that I want a low maintenance hair styling routine. They understand their assignment and cut my naturally wavy hair well, even with bangs.

Overall a great place, friendly service and professional staff. But make sure you know well about your style and know which stylist does it best. Sometimes some stylist can mess it up and you’ll have to explain to them again to have it corrected.

Best place for haircuts in my opinion. Why pay $90 when you can pay $35 for the same thing? I'd recommend bringing a picture to show your stylist so they know what you want. You can style bar yourself or pay a little more for them to do it.

I got my haircut at Ten Pachi by Dane a while back. It took him about 45 minutes to cut my hair. It is definitely a cheap salon for girls as my girlfriend comes here to get her haircut. Friendly atmosphere and clean facility.
