We first contacted TR Construction in 2018 when we bought a new home with old failing roof and looking rough on the outside. Owner Tony, who is a very friendly and knowledgeable professional, came out, gave us an estimate and provided references. The work started few weeks later and they did such a good job with stucco repairs, rebuilding dry rotted wood, painting exterior and replacing our roof. The TR Construction crew is truly awesome! They worked fast but always considered our comfort and safety: anytime they would see my car pull up they would stop all the work and make sure we get into the house safely, they kept work area clean too. At the end of 2019 we hired them again to remodel our two upstairs bathrooms. Once again it was a smooth process even with some delays from our cabinet and tile vendors, TR worked around it and never made a big deal. Every person who walked through our door from foreman, to tile guy, to plumber were super friendly and helpful and hard working. One of them even brought us super yummy pipping hot tamales around Christmas time, because my husband mentioned he loves them. Seriously the best bunch of guys! You can tell they enjoy working for TR and take pride of their work. I remember at the end of the remodel one of them said he is not leaving until we point out every thing no matter how small that we find imperfect and he fixed it all up. Our bathrooms turned out beautiful and they were very affordable too. Fast forward to early Jan 2023 (3 years past bathroom remodel). We come back from vacation and next day notice water running through the kitchen light from the upstairs bathroom. We couldn’t tell if it was from the toilet or shower. Fearing the worst we called TR in the morning, not expecting much but hoping at least to hire them again if another manor remodel is in the works. Their plumber was at our door in about 30minutes, it actually caught me by surprise on how fast he came. After running a bunch of tests he determined that it was a failed toilet wax ring (which happens spontaneously) and the water was already all dried, luckily we noticed it right away and didn’t continue using it. He fixed it all up didn’t even charge us a dime. While we were happy we didn’t have more work to be done, we were super impressed with TR’s response to our call. They could’ve simply said it’s not their problem after all those years, yet they still sent their guys to make sure shower waterproofing did not fail, etc. I will continue to recommend them to our neighbors and friends and will only hire them for our future remodels. Anybody can do the work, but TR does a very good work with smiles on their faces and stand by their work for years!

We had TR do a total house remodel of every room, including a new roof, Solar installation, electrical panel upgrade, plumbing re-pipe, re-stucco, and outdoor living area. And now we couldn’t be happier with what is basically a new home. The whole team was great to work with as they took us through the whole process. Starting with the initial estimate from Tony, the owner, it was obvious that he cared greatly about making sure that we were completely happy with the every aspect of our remodel project. In contrast to other builders that had slick ads, showrooms and fancy seminar presentations with videos and wine and cheese telling us how great they executed remodel projects, Tony showed me real projects he had in various stages of completion. I spent a morning driving around north county following him in his truck to his building sites to see his crews in action on in-work projects and recently completed projects. His enthusiasm for what he does showed and is what sold me. TR’s project estimate was competitive with two of three remodel contractors we looked at. The third, a slick design-build company was considerably higher but I assumed that was for some super high-end design service - so as a trial, we agreed to pay an initial design fee to see what they could do. What we ended up with was a mash-up of a 2D drawing, one photo-realistic rendering of a room, along with some poster board display of different samples of flooring tile and backsplash materials and paint swashes for a design that we didn’t even like. We ended up doing our own design and then when we told them we’d go with another contractor, they gave us all the nightmare stories of people had with other contractors, while how well they executed their projects. I had my doubts because some of my questions to them had bounced between their different departments before eventually getting back to me. So we decided to listen to our gut feel and go with TR and in the end we weren’t disappointed. That’s not to say everything went perfectly with TR on our project. But the key point was how well TR dealt with problems - Tony listened, worked with us, was flexible and committed to professionally resolving every issue and made sure we were happy in the end. We pretty much had daily contact with some member of TR team for the duration of our project, and everyone in the office was friendly, responsive, and great to work with. The work crew of carpenters, roofers, painters, plumbers, and electricians were all conscientious pros and did quality work and many times went out of their way to do what was needed. Thank you TR! - we love our new home.

Our current roof was almost 30 years old and was starting to develop some leaks and other issues. A family member recommended TR and we weren’t disappointed. Mike H. and his counterpart (the roofers) did a great job replacing the entire roof and making all the necessary repairs. Mike was very forthcoming with pictures and videos to show us what he found and explain his concerns while also providing options on how to proceed. He was also extremely knowledgeable and went out of his way to ensure we understood everything going on with the roof. As such, he was always very candid and gave an honest appraisal; there was never any push to do more than was needed or upsell. Overall, they did a great job and we feel confident that our roof will be in great shape for many years to come. Compared to some of the other roofs we’ve seen around the neighborhood that were repaired/replaced by other companies, these guys definitely did not cut any corners or do anything less than a great job. While we did have an issue that popped up, However, Tony (the owner) personally showed up to meet with me and discuss it. He quickly addressed our concerns and made sure that we were 100% satisfied with all aspects of the job and process. It was great to see a business owner take the time to listen to concerns, take full responsibility, address the issue, and ensure that we were satisfied with the resolution. Working with TR was a positive experience and we would definitely recommend them to others (and will certainly consider them when it comes to other repairs or remodels).

I had a great experience working with Tony and his team from TR Construction. I had them build a large patio cover that required architectural drawings and a city permit. After talking with several contractors who came to bid on the job then never sent a quote or never even showed for our initial appointment, I met with Tony. For our first meeting he was on time and professional. We discussed the project and he showed examples on his iPad of his other work. He helped me visualize some of the concepts I had in mind with the pictures of other work he had previously completed. I was on the fence about going through the formal permit process with the city, but agreed to move forward. Tony and his team took care of all the details and now I have the architectural drawings and permits for the property if I eventually decide to sell. In the end, I’m glad I was persuaded to go through the formal process and feel that it was completely worth it. I thought they TR Construction was great! They did what they said they would do and were considerate and professional. The foreman, Clemente, was polite with a no-nonsense approach with the crew. I thought he set the tone for his guys and got things done! I was never pressed for payment. The crew showed up on time and did the work that they promised on a reasonable timeline. I’m completely happy with the decision to work with Tony. 5 stars!

I consider myself fortunate because out of the 3 roofing companies that I asked an estimate for, TR Construction was the only one that offered to repair a leak that was confined to a small area. The other two companies I contacted would only accept the job if they worked the whole panel of the roof, which was beyond my budget. Mike Sgambati showed up to my house on time, inspected the roof and briefed me on his plan. A week later, Diana sent me copies of the estimates/contracts. After I signed the contracts, Teresa was going to schedule my job order. The next morning I received an email from Teresa asking me if her crew can work that afternoon. I took the opportunity right away. She called to inform me that the crew was on their way. To my surprise, both of the roofers were named Mike, the older one having 20 years of experience, the younger one having 9 years of experience. Both of them were very professional and extremely happy with their job. The repairs were done within 3 hours thanks to their experience, again to my surprise. Afterwards, they collected all the construction debris and informed me that their staff would come by to pick up the debris the following day. Like the other reviews that I read, I'm very pleased with the quality and professionalism displayed by TR Construction. I will surely hire them again.

I’ve been around since 1930, and have worked with people and for companies since the age of 12, starting with the largest paper route in my delivery district and including just about any type of work you can think of. I’ve seen and experienced it all. From the first few moments I spoke by phone with Linda, the office manager at T. R. Construction, I recognized something special. Then when Tony, the owner, came and did an estimate for a new roof on our home, that special feeling multiplied. The date was set and on that Monday the removal of the old roof began punctually. The foreman for that specific job was Angel, and he couldn’t have explained it better. His crew was organized, coordinated, careful, neat and speedy. They finished their part in one day. Following that, the roofers came and in showcase fashion demonstrated in three days the proper way to install a new roof. I’ve never seen such teamwork. The entire procedure was phenomenal, and at the end of Thursday the finished product, along with the new rain gutters and spouts, was something any homeowner would view with admiration and gratification. Next, an exterior paint job by T.R. Construction. I cannot recommend them more highly. They are simply the BEST!

Our house project is finally complete and we couldn’t be happier with the work done by TR CONSTRUCTION! We had decided to upgrade our house instead of selling. Our projects included adding 238 sq feet to the existing family room; scraping the popcorn ceilings throughout the house; demo stone fireplace and add new tile from floor to ceiling; build new patio area (slab and cover); remove all wood areas on exterior of house and replace with stucco; upgrade electrical panel; paint exterior of the house and most interior areas. In addition, we had them demo our old “wood” retaining wall and had them push our hill back about 3-4 feet and build a new concrete retaining wall. TR Construction also ensured we had proper drainage in the back yard so that any water would flow away from the house. These folks are awesome! All of the office staff are very responsive; sub-contractors (framers, demo, drywall, electricians and concrete crews, etc) are masters of their trade and everyone is very professional and polite. Our project took 5 1/2 months instead of 4 1/2 but that’s understandable because of the additional work that needed to done (which was agreed upon by all parties before hand).

Best investment I made for this house! This is the 3rd time TR Construction has helped me with a major project and I must say, I am never disappointed. In fact, I'm ecstatic with the quality of the work and professionalism of the staff. I like to sit out front with my dog while working from home. But the angle of the sun allowed me only a few hours in the morning before I found myself cooking my skin. But with this truly awesome patio I'm now able to sit outside in sun, wind and rain and be very well protected. Additionally, the patio is so sturdy that I can safely walk on it to hang up my holiday decorations without fear of slipping down a steep slope. The best part is that if you didn't know better, you would think that the patio was built with the house. It looks and feels original. I'm posting a 'before' and several 'after' photos. It's hard to really get a sense of depth from shots taken from across the street. One of those photos was taken while it was raining. I got to stay dry! My "outdoor living room" gives me a whole new dimension to my home. Thank you Tony and TR Construction for a superbly built, wonderful new addition to my life. I am very, very happy!

I first hired TR Construction in 2013 to fix a failing slanted roof and renovate my parents' home. After getting several bids, TR Construction was the most affordable. My mom was concerned with all the construction workers coming in and out of the house, but after a week or so, she was able to remember the crew and grew at ease with them working around and in the house. The house renovations were completed on time and without any extra major costs. My brother was so impressed by their work and professionalism that he hired them in 2017 to fix his leaky roof and do some minor home renovations. Fast forward to October 2018, I was finally able to afford my house remodel and room addition. When it came time to proceed with this daunting home improvement project, there was no doubt that I would hire TR Construction. My house renovation and remodel was worth every penny. The work Tony's entire crew did was excellent! I trusted them to make my aging house feel solid and safe again and they delivered! I hired TR Construction to remove an interior, load bearing wall. Overall I was very pleased with the work, customer service, and the price. The job involved engineering plans, digging through and reinforcing the existing slab, installing a large structural beam, moving electrical, mechanical and plumbing, and putting the walls nicely back together. I'm pretty thorough (and had a bad contractor experience in the past) so I reached out to probably 10 companies about the job and got estimates from 5 of them. TR was the lowest quote and I got a good vibe from Tony so I hired them for the job. The job is now complete and I am very happy with my choice. The work was performed within the estimated time frame and the workers were very good at cleaning up after every work day. Most importantly, both the foreman and the owner himself were adamant about me being happy with the finished product. Any minor adjustments were taken care of quickly and without arguments. I would recommend this company for any construction job you may have.

The TRC Team exceeded my expectations from the project estimate phase with Mike through the project completion with the various TRC construction professionals. Great communication throughout the project with the roof professionals Mike and Ryan as well as Steve the professional carpenter. Although, my deadline was tight due to my upcoming house inspection, I was really impressed with Mike and Ryan’s attention detail resolving several issues with my roof and not compromising the project deadline. I couldn’t be happier with the overall experience throughout this journey. Definitely, my go to contractor for future work. TR Construction did a great job with my remodel! From the start, Tony came out and listened as we looked over the crude drawing I did on the IKEA website. He came back with a detailed scope of work and proposal. I had others come out and not even respond. His office worked with me with some minor revisions to the proposal before I signed. Tony kept his word to start the demo immediately while I was still there to ensure there weren’t any surprises. Tony used my crude kitchen plans I drew up on the IKEA website and worked with me to get my project laid out for the cabinets, electrical, and plumbing. I had a chance to meet with his employees on the job and most had worked for TR for years, which I think says a lot about Tony and his company. Since I was working back in the Bay Area, I was completely dependent on Tony and his crew to get the job done. Tony and his crew are top notch!

This our third time using TR Construction. The first time was to fix a leak in our roof. We had a room addition added to our home over 20 years and had since had it re-roofed. The roofing company we used went out of business. My dad saw the sign for TR one day on the way to Home Depot and gave them a call. Tony came out and gave us a fair price. His workers were out here two days later and had our roof leak repaired in a day and a half. The second time we used them was to lay an additional layer of concrete onto out patio slab it make it easier to walk from house to our patio room. Go great service again. Now we are remodeling the front of our house and they are going a fantastic job. I would recommend Tony and his crew to anyone seeking to have home repairs or remodeling work done. Linda the office manager is great and very helpful.

TR Construction was referred to me by a semi-retired roofing contractor and I am extremely pleased with the fantastic job TR did on my roofing and beams. Mike did an excellent job of assessing my needs and proposed a perfect solution. Jaime was great to work with and kept me well informed as he and the crew went about their tasks professionally and efficiently. Even the cleanup crew did a remarkable job in returning my yard back to normal. The finish work done on stucco and painting around the new beams turned out great. Teresa was terrific at keeping me up to date on scheduling. All of the people involved in the project were professional, considerate, and friendly. From this experience, I will definitely consider TR Construction for any of my future projects.

I contracted to have 3 jobs, new roof installation, paint the outside of the house. and gutter installation. I would hire TRConstruction again. The roofers were the best I've seen. Completed teardown, wood replacement, and roofing in 4 days. Left work sight very clean. My house looks awesome as the painters did a great job. The did great inspection and touch up. They respond timely to issues and fixed them without issue. The gutter job itself is professional. I wanted a rain barrel to collect run off. I placed the barrel in a location to collect water. After it rained I discovered it was a poor location to collect rain water. A couple of weeks later TRCONSTRUCTION came and move the collection location. This company stands behind their product

Updated August 2021 - This is the second time we've used TR Construction and the results are the same as before - excellent work, friendly and attentive crews, and good customer service. We had a portion of our ceiling collapse and TR Construction sent a crew out to clean-up the mess, even before we even contracted with them to do the repairs. They've become our go-to source for our home construction needs. I highly recommend them. TR Construction has been an excellent partner in our kitchen remodel project. The work entailed removing walls, adding structural support in the ceiling, and electrical. The crews were always pleasant, helpful, and cleaned up every day after they were done. I recommend them for your home remodeling projects.

TR Construction did an excellent job removing and installing a new roof on my home and replacing rotted and termite damaged fascia board and rafter tails. They also installed “Cool roof” attic insulation and a color matching new rain gutter system. The work was performed in the highest professional manner and completed within the estimated price, on schedule (excluding working around the first San Diego rain of our winter season), and the crew lead by Mike and Jaime’s roofing guys were very knowledgeable and accommodating to ensured I was completed satisfied at the end. I highly recommend them for your next roofing/house remodeling project; I am looking forward to working with them very soon for additional remodeling work!

I have used TR Construction twice in the last 13 years, the first job they completed for me was a tile roof installation, and most recently they replaced a 20 foot beam and 5 rafters over the front entry way to our home with the installation of a skylight dome. When I developed a roof leak this winter I was dreading the process of interviewing roofers. After talking with a few roofers, I remembered that TR Construction also does roofing. I had hired TR Construction a couple years back for a different project, and I was impressed with the quality of their work. I decided to hire TR based on their reputation for quality work and their willingness to stand behind their projects. Luckily, I got Mike and Ryan on my job, and they were fantastic. Meticulous attention to detail and they entertained all of my questions. They kept me informed every day, and I feel confident that I won't have any roof issues for many years.

We have an older roof that had numerous leaks over the years in different parts of the roof needed a complete Tile Felt Relay to resolve/avoid further problems. I had used TR in the past and for spot repairs and adding some rain gutters and was satisfied with their work. Their price was very competitive with other bids I received. The TR staff that worked on our roof (Jamie being the lead) could not have been more professional and responsive to our needs and questions. The job-site was cleaned up every day before they left and they they met their estimated schedule despite some rain during the install. We would highly recommend them and are very satisfied!

I had TR Construction repair a roof leak in the winter of 2017 and was satisfied with the service. Three years later, I discovered water stains on my ceiling in the same spot so I called them back. They sent out the same repairman (who remembered the job) the next day. He removed the tiles and found the area to be clean and dry, so he removed some adjacent tiles and found a different leak (insufficient tile overlap). He fixed the problem in about 30 minutes and refused to accept payment. These guys are solid and stand behind their work. I'll be contacting them when the time comes to replace the roof.

I chose TR construction because it was the most highly rated recommendation in my online next neighbor app for roof contractors. I was not disappointed! I was given a reasonable estimate to repair some localized roof problem within a week. It was repaired within about 2 hours the following week with a written and verbal summary of the problem and the extent of the repair. I was very pleased with the professionalism and expertise of TR construction in the repair of a relatively minor roof problem that was causing some leakage. I highly recommend them! Plus they are a local company which I also liked.

I chose to use TR Construction for my roofing project for 3 reasons. First, my on-line research showed them to be reputable with good reviews. Second, I needed to have a company with experience with solar panels as my project required panel removal and re-installation. And third, TRC came in as the lowest bid out of 3 bids. My project did get pushed out a week beyond the scheduled start date, but was ultimately completed efficiently once the job started. I would use TRC again on future projects, and would suggest to have them bid your project.

This company is excellent. Had different jobs done by them. New concrete patio, stucco work, new facia boards and garage studs plus painting. All were great, and if there are problems they will take care if it right away. Also signed new contract to replace double pane windows in two bedrooms, also plan on having them repaint the house this spring. Also their worker are very friendly and I enjoy having them around. Post a previous review when they replaced my roof prior to putting on solar; excellent job. They get a 10+ from me.

They showed up on time, cleaned up after themselves, and the job was completed in the time frame they initially stated. Their prices were competitive and honestly, we are very happy with the results! We needed to ventilate our garage and didn't really know what to do. We called TR Construction and told them what we thought we needed and they immediately gave us options that were correct. We scheduled an appointment to have the work done. Ken & Mike came on the day arranged and on time. They were professional, courteous and quick. The staff in the office are sweethearts to work with. We would highly recommend TR Construction to any one needing any type of roofing or roofing repairs.

TR Construction is excellent! I really appreciated the detailed estimate which included information about projected time to begin and complete my roofing repair project. Each time I called the office, I was able to speak to a real person right away. They were also honest. I thought I needed more work done than was actually necessary, and they were kind enough to let me know what wasn't needed. The 10-year warranty gives me piece of mind and tells me that they stand behind their work.

Terrible customer service, the two women who answer the phones and screen are of no help, emails aren’t returned. They tell you one thing and then come back and say they can’t do the work. I dodged a bullet because this would have been detrimental during a huge remodel. It was a complete waste of time and I have no confidence that they would actually do quality work. Save yourself the hassle and the rude employees who only try to push business away. Unbelievable really.

Mike came out and was very friendly and gave us his prediction on what was causing water to leak into our attic area. Did a complete inspection of our roof which was fine. We had a hole in our stucco that was causing our leak. Mike gave us an estimate for the repair. Don't know how that happened but his worker fixed it and took time to complete the repair. Originally this company put our roof on in 1997. They are a great trustful company and would recommend them.

My experience working with TR Construction was awesome! Mike Hernandez was friendly, professional, he explained the process and timeline. Their quote was competitive with other companies. They completed the work in a timely manner, picked up the old skylights and I paid over the phone. I'll contact them in the future when I need their services. Two of the hardest working professionals I have ever seen spent over two weeks overhauling our 36 year old roof and repairing termite damage. As new damage was uncovered I was always kept informed of everything needed. Additional supplies were always here when necessary and within 24 hours so there was no delay. TR Construction put a new roof on our rental in August of 2021 and we were so pleased with their work we also had them put a new roof on our own house in April of this year, 2022. Mike and Mike were professional and very thorough. They came highly recommended to me from an architect friend, and I can see why. My home had a lot of termite damage, and they had to replace quite a bit of wood on the exterior of the house, in addition to completely overhauling the roof. I am delighted with the results and confident my home will be secure for many years to come.

They were hired to enclose the back patio. It consisted of demolishing the existing back patio and then building the rooms up from the bottom up. They poured the cement for the floors, then framed it up, added a fireplace, enlarged the master closet, and extended the study making a 6' wide hallway. We have plans to have them back within the year to remodel the kitchen.

TR construction was great and easy to work with and was very affordable compared to others. They finished our roof very quickly, the crew was friendly, and they picked up all their trash. Was very grateful to have had this company out. I’m the future will will contact them again for future projects as they do a vast majority of anything pertaining to remodels.

TR Construction was without doubt one of the best companies I had ever worked with. I wish I had them do the other projects on my house instead of the other companies I used that were just mediocre at best. TR Construction is top notch, honest, fair priced, cares about their customers, and does quality work. I'm glad I found this diamond in the rough.

I hired TR Construction for a Tile Roof lift and relay on my 28 year old home. The roofing team showed up on the scheduled day and time and performed the work in approximately7 days. They cleaned up after themselves and did an excellent job of accommodating my requests and communicating with me. I wouldn't hesitate to hire them on another home.

TR Construction installed a retaining wall for us and did an amazing job! The crew dug everything out by hand; reinforced the wall with rebar, concrete, backfilled it and sealed it with a water barrier. We also had them repair a leak in our main bathroom; they had to demo everything and when the work was done, it was BEAUTIFUL!

We used TR Construction when we wanted a new roof in 2002 and were very pleased with all aspects of their work, so it only made sense when we needed minor roofing repairs, recently that we reached out to them again. So happy that we did, because they continue to impress us with excellent work and customer service.

Mike, Ryan and Angel were very professional in their work ensuring the job was completed to my satisfaction and the job site was clean. The office staff kept me informed when the different crews would arrive. I plan to use TR construction again and recommend them. This was the first time I used their services.

Addendum to previous post: TR came out and cleaned the stained tile, then used a sealant and enhancer to prevent future issues. Our lesson learned on perhaps not choosing "tile" that requires so much grout in a high use, high moisture area but TR came through and rectified the situation. Highly recommend!

We had water leakage due to improperly installed siding. TR Construction looked at the damage, made a quote which we accepted and completed the work promptly and correctly. They were professional and timely. We will consider them in the future because we are quite satisfied with their work.

TR it’s a company you can rely on when you have an a emergency situation. Got a leak after heavy rain, they came on the following day between the showers and put a temporary patch. Couple of days after they showed up and repaired permanently the leak. Excellent communication and service!!

TR Construction put in a new roof and replaced all fascia and many damaged wood, rebuilt the balcony and painted the house. I am very satisfied with the work done. I saw that workers were very detailed in their work. I am getting compliments from neighbors that we now have a new house.

TR Construction was great. They replaced my Solar and Roof for a very reasonable price. Did all the leg work regarding the solar. And have promised to help me set up the solar app on my phone. My next plan is to redo my add on structure. I hope they also assist with Landscaping.

I had a leak in my roof and it was due to rain again. TR Construction came right out and put a tarp up....checked my roof for any other possible leaks. When the weather cleared they came out and fixed my roof right away. Very polite, on time and easy to work with.

TR Construction is second to none for roofing (new or repair). Their installers are top-notch and friendly. They took care of our roof as if it was their own. You'd be crazy not to include TR when you're getting quotes for your roof install/repair.

These guys carefully and thoroughly checked my roof for causes of leaks. They installed new flashing and felt and reset tiles at my skylight and at my chimney, and reset tiles over my front porch. All within one day. Good guys too.
