STAY AWAY. AVOID SALON! requested mega volume lashes,repeated multiple times I wanted the thickest blackest mega volume lashes. Received incomplete standard set not the mega volume requested multiple times and my bill was $150. I emailed salon advised was very unhappy with lashes and that the lashes were not even applied all the way across my eyelids. I had another lash tech from another place look at my lashes and she could not believe the set I received. The lashes were not put on very good, were not across my entire eyelid and were only a single layer and very thin. I emailed salon, days later the owner offered me to come in to fix them and add more lashes, but it was already explained to me by another professional certified lash tech that the wrong lashes were used to get the mega volume and I would need a new set to get my original requested set. I did not feel comfortable going back and took the hit, did not ask for any type of refund then and went to another place that was more experienced and did a wonderful job and charged less and listened to me. Now I already had a hair appointment booked for a colouring service and I was scared to keep after the lash ordeal. I showed a picture of the hair colour I wanted and I was told by the owner when I was there for a pedicure previously they could do it. (I showed her picture). I already had anxiety and worries going back there, but thought I would give it one more try since it was a different service. I had brown roots with many grey's, and my remaining hair colour was a faded light orange. I requested my top part of my hair to be coloured a purple/black all way down to my chin and then just the ends to be a smokey grey. The hairdresser said she doesn't think she can do it, I questioned her and advised I showed the owner this and she said it is something that could be done. I was not shown any colour options for the purple/black, and was concerned when she started applying the top colour, I made sure to say that looks pretty light for purple back. She then proceeded to say there is no purple black. I have had that colour done countless times in past, so yes it does exist . The application was very painful too pulling really hard on my sections. I then asked why the darker top colour wasn't going down further to my chin area, she said she will bring it down more, nope never did, and when she back combed the mid section for the blend of both colours, I noticed that not enough dye was applied on the darker part. When she was done, I looked in the mirror and had to hold in my tears. I told her I do not like the colour, and she just seemed to have an attitude after I told her. I go to the till to pay, $349.00! Owner was not there, so as I was crying I paid, pulled my hood up over my hair to hide how ugly it was so no one would see it. I went to my car and emailed the owner, advising I want a partial refund, that I understand services were completed and I am not asking for a full refund, just a partial. I stated multiple times that I am beyond dissatisfied and did not get anything close to what I requested both appointments. I took hairdressing in the early 2000s, and well versed in what can be done with my hair. The owner says they do not give refunds and could offer me a discount towards another service. She also offered me to come back and for them to fix my hair. I am frustrated that this is how she operates, why would I go back there when I have received two horrible services that cost me a total of $500.00. I will not let them touch my hair to try and fix it, I will be fixing it myself. This is a lot of money and the audacity of her to try get me to come in and spend more money and receive only a discount. If you are getting a pedicure, that is all I recommend there. Stay away from hair colouring and eyelash extensions. They do not listen and charge way too much! I had patches of hair that she missed colouring, and ugly brown top part, and very ugly greenish ends.

I was looking for a new hairdresser and called Tantrum - reviews were hit and miss but I wanted to judge for myself. The girl enthusiastically booked my appt and told me to come 15mins early for a 'hair assessment' for my cut color and highlights. I showed up 15mins early and it was busy - the receptionist was not at the desk but several 'Hellos' greeted me from the back when I entered. I decided to sit in the waiting area until the receptionist came back - which she did and was processing payments. All the clients left and the receptionist continued her work. I went to the front and said 'I'm here for my 5pm with this person'. She said ok and I sat down waiting to be called in. Instead - another client came in and was welcomed to her seat. Offered a glass of wine and then I sat there listening to everyone chit chat casually for another 15mins. Do hairdressers NOT wonder where there clients are? Does the receptionist not want to know why there is a stranger sitting in the wait room? Does the receptionist not tell the hairdressers that the client is there? Finally someone came to the front and glanced at me. Then a second girl came to the front - they glanced at each other and then glanced at me. By then I felt extremely awkward, uncomfortable and unwelcome. Almost 30mins past my appt time and I'm about to walk out when all of a sudden - looks like they can take me. There was no apology for making me wait, or explained there was a mix up or anything. Just ignored it like nothing happened. There was little conversation obviously, was not offered any wine that the other client was enjoying, and then she put a cape on me that had grey hair clippings from the guy I just watched leave before me. Do they seriously not give a client a clean cape? Are my standards too high - or am I told old for these nice places? I don't know if I did anything to cause this behavior - except walk into their salon? I've been to Ghetto salons and had better service - if this is how they treat a brand new client - I DO NOT RECOMMEND. I've shared this review with everyone I know looking for a new hair salon. Lucky my hair turned out nice so you get 1 star.

I am a firm believer in not saying anything at all if you don't have anything nice to say, but it is long past due on this one. I have been using this salon for aesthetic services for a few years now, but honestly, other than the person I see (who I have been seeing since long before they went to this salon), I would not set foot in there. It has never been a particularly friendly or pleasant place to visit, but I really like my aesthetician and she is wonderful. And really, that is the most important thing for me. The incident that prompted this review, however, was a call I made yesterday morning to book an appointment. I didn't get through, which I completely understand, but there was voice mail and the message was to leave a detailed message and someone would call back during business hours. No mention that it was at their discretion as to whether they would deign to return the call. I left a detailed message, including both phone numbers where I could be reached, and then waited more than 24 hours, but no call. When I did reach someone this afternoon, I mentioned that I had left a message yesterday. There was no response, no explanation, no apology, and nothing to indicate that the person on the other end of the phone actually cared about a customer concern. I went on to make my appointment, and I will continue to see my aesthetician, but honestly, there are way too many other salons in Winnipeg where the service is friendly and pleasant, and where you will get good customer service.

UPDATE!!! The owner had reached out to me and was very nice and asked me to come back to sort it out. It was just a misunderstanding and I'm now blonde and ready to go! Thank you so much I really loved the service and can't wait to come back. I feel so welcomed and happy with my new hair and experience. Thank you ❤️ 'Previously, I gave two stars because I had gone in for a full colour something new and exciting and I left with highlights on my brown hair. I have thick brown curly hair. And I've touched up the brown every few years but I wanted a big change. She had bleached sections and I assumed this was going to be done in batches. I wasn't sure. She asked where I wanted my new bangs and I pointed and she went a bit lower for bounce. She was really really nice and I put on a small smile in the mirror because I didn't want to be rude even though I didn't get what I thought. But she still spent almost three hours on me so I appreciate that. I made another appointment to go back. I do understand that going blonde from brunette is annoying and time consuming but she said it was fine so I had high expectations of the results. ' Thank you both so much for having me again. Made me feel so much better!

I booked an appointment for my 8 year old to have her hair cut, and a little pop of colour, plus a little design shaved on the side of her head as per her request. I booked the appointment, and read the reviews, I was a bit nervous but ultimately decided based on the positive reviews and pictures that they’d be able to help her. She was booked with Jenna. The entire experience from start to finish was awesome. Jenna was so nice, and looked at the pictures my kiddo had brought for the hair she wanted, and took it from there. Thank you so much Jenna, River loves her hair so much! She has asked to go back in the future so you may have found yourself a new little regular customer in River! I also want to say that, all the staff were lovely, amazing, gave my girl confidence that she made the right decision for her hair, they were constantly cleaning and sweeping, and so so lovely with all their clients. Thanks so much to everyone, you are all amazing!

I have been seeing Jenna since I was in grade school, and I am 27 now. Over the many years, I’ve seen multiple different stylists (including in other cities) and nobody ever gets my hair like Jenna does. She consistently gives me exactly what I want for several years now! As a self-aware nightmare client (lol partially joking, I just get anxious about haircuts and I’m super picky) I can’t recommend Jenna enough. I never feel the need to watch what she’s doing. She makes every experience enjoyable and I always feel at ease knowing I’m going to leave looking like a total bombshell every time I’m in her chair. She truly gets my visions and has insane skill! Although I live in a different city now, I will be stopping by Tantrum to see Jenna any time I end up in Winnipeg again. Thank you for my dream hair!

Just go you will not regret it!!!! I’ve went to so many salons in the past, to get some blonde highlights in my brown hair. In my past experiences my highlights always went orange within a few days , even after proper maintenance. This was my first time getting my hair done by Ket she is AMAZING I’ve had my hair for a few weeks and it still looks just like it did when I left! She did exactly what I wanted and my hair is the healthiest it’s ever been! She is extremely nice to deal with and will always take the time to make sure you understand what is going on. I would absolutely recommend going here for any service, I will be back! In comparison to what I’ve paid other salons Tantrum is a bit cheaper and a thousand times better!!! I couldn’t recommend enough

Went for a pedicure. There was three of us. It was the best experience I've had having a pedicure. I usually find the high light of the a pedicure is the company you bring with you, but here the whole experience is amazing. The staff are super nice, welcoming, approachable, and professional. The place is super clean and nice on the inside. And the icing on cake you can enjoy a beverage during the whole process like coffee, tea, wine, or beer. It's been over a week since my toes were painted and they still look as good as the first day it was done.

Missed my appointment due to a family emergency. I was told I would get a mark beside my name because I didn't provide a 24 hour notice. First time ever missing an appointment in all the years of being a client. I could not provide the mandatory 24 hour notice that I was told I needed to give due to the circumstances. Whoever I spoke to was threatening and way over the top in her demands. Its too bad. I love my stylist, but won't be back. That stylist has now lost a long time client due to the nasty unprofessional individual on the phone.

This was my first time going to Tantrum and I will be back 100 times over. I haven’t had a haircut I liked in a while, I find that hairstylist don’t listen to me when I tell them what I would like. So I didn’t have much high expectations going into this. HOWEVER I was blown away. I fell in love with my hair again. When I explained my vision, the stylist asked me questioned about it to make sure she understood! And then she gave me the most amazing hair cut. I am incredibly impressed! Thank you very much!

Absolutely the best salon, the staff experience and complete satisfaction I received today is like none other I've experienced. I used to live in Winnipeg for years and am only here on vacation and am going home feeling revived and looking 10yrs younger. I had a complete stripping off my hair and coloring and cut and style My hairdresser was Ket just for anyone looking for an amazing experience.

I went in for the Brazilian Keratin Treatment and was blown away by the results! This was my first time doing a treatment like this and my stylist Jenna was very professional and took the time to explain each step to me. She gave me a wonderful haircut and made me feel relaxed and comfortable throughout. This was my first time at Tantrum, and I will definitely be back in the future.

I was pretty disappointed with my nails after my appointment. I had a wedding to go to and really needed my nails filled. I was charged $20 for a design that the girl couldnt even do!! Simple lines turned into just making the tips black. And the nail polish wasnt done correctly as u can still see the clear nail through it! Definately not worth the $85 i was charged :(

I went in with long thick, and very healthy hair and asked for some lighter caramel highlights. I came out with dead, dry and damaged blonde balayage. Not once did my stylist EVER say that’s what she would be giving me. Which was double the price. And now my hair is ruined and they are ignoring my emails about the situation. Never again!

My daughters & I were there June 3 for a pedicure. We felt rushed, the appointment was only 45 min, there were no vibrating chairs, no jet streams in the foot bath and I don't like the fact that the pedicures are done in the same room as the hair salon (open concept). Not comfortable at all. I'll be going back to Pelo Loco next time.

My daughters and I had our nails done here. Although they were friendly, Not fond of the nail techs who over trim the cuticles. I feel like they should ask if you want light trimming or lots. I had to keep cleaning them with peroxide so they wouldn't get infected and they hurt for a few days. Probably won't be going back.

The manager is definitely rude, I had the worse experience there as a women name sarob didn’t do her job right and I had made a complaint on the phone and the manager wasn’t even there and she was defending the young girl. Wouldn’t recommend the manager Kat is very unprofessional and very rude

The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The salon itself was lovely and calm. My stylist Ashley was extremely helpful and we chose a color I absolutely love! The price was far lower than I thought it would be. I booked my next appointment before I left. 10/10! Thank you!!

I went there for hair highlights. I know highlights is a color changing treatment but whenever i wash my hair with each wash the color is coming out from my hair which is not normal with highlights. I paid so much and I am so disappointed with the service.

Jenna is a colour sorceress‼️ She has been my go to for hair and nails for over a decade. When you leave you look like a million bucks but her enthusiasm will make you feel even more beautiful. You can’t put a price tag on that‼️

Took my son here today for a hair cut. However it's pretty pricey they could of added a wash or something. But paying almost 30 for a 12 year olds haircut is pretty crazy. Other than that the girls are super nice.

Had two wait while the hairdresser finished getting her own hair washed. Paid $48 plus tip for a 20 minute haircut. It was bad. Came back to ask for a repair. It was bad.
