Store name (if relevant): Target Carlingford court Detail of query: I had an extremely poor customer service experience at your Carlingford store today. I went there with my son to buy some toys. I brought the toys and paid for them at one of the check out register near the center court. I walked out of the store as that is where the exit led us. But since we had parked our car at the back, I had to re enter the store to reach the car park. On my way out, I was stopped by your staff and she demanded me to show her a receipt of purchase. I was carrying all the toys in my hand and i was also holding my toddler's hand. I felt overwhelmed by her request but still showed her the proof of purchase. After putting the toys in my car, I came back and I asked her why she demanded a proof of purchase and why this policy wasn't displayed publicly. She had no answer to this question except she kept repeating it was told to her by her manager. She later called her manager and before the manager came your staff started crying creating an unnecessary drama to gain sympathy from your manager. Your manager was extremely rude ( his eyes were red and he was furious at me), he couldn't show me any document which stated that people are asked to show proof of purchase. Your manager asked me to leave the shop. He blamed me and said I was yelling at your staff. My voice is loud and I was asking the facts, which was to show me a notice which alerted customers to keep the proof of purchase. I wasn't yelling at anyone. The manager instead of resolving the situation, made me leave the store. It seems as if your staff likes to gain sympathy by crying, I could have also cried. I was also managing a toddler, holding multiple things in my hands and I was harassed by your staff. I didn't use any abusive language, I wasn't even physically violent, I simply demanded to see a properly displayed notice which showed customers have to provide receipt on exit. I think as a customer, it is my right to know where this policy is written and why it wasn't displayed at the exit door. I am not sure why your staff started crying- it seems the staff is too weak to handle any customer complaint. Being a young mum to a toddler, everything was overwhelming to me. Instead of your staff, I should have cried because as a woman it is easy to cry and gain sympathy. This is one of the most shocking and extremely poor experience I have had in Australia. I have no hesitation to show the receipt but this should have been openly displayed at your store. Couple of scenarios where I may not have been able to display the receipt: 1) I was with a toddler and i wasn't carrying any bag to keep things in it. Hence I was carrying toys in my hand. I could have easily lost the receipt somewhere. 2) Since I wasn't aware to keep the receipt with myself all the time while going through Target, I could have chucked the receipt on my way out ( which I normally do ) because I don't like to keep collecting unwanted receipts. In this case, I was never going to return the toys hence the receipt was of anyways no use to me. It seems as if your staff is told to target certain type of people and ask them to show a receipt of purchase. If you are that concerned about people stealing things from the shops then you should really close your shops and only keep online shopping open. Install more cameras to find people who commit offence instead of bullying and harassing normal people. You have no right to offend people without any clear policies on display. I need a clear justification from Target to the above incident and why your manager asked me to leave the store and not solved my query. I want my complaint to be addressed by 23rd June 2023 close of business hours 5pm AEST. Thanks,

I went to pick up a click and collect from this store… the lady on the door was yelling out to another team member as I was walking into the store..this was roughly 11am, 18/4/23, she was also whinging to another staff member at registers.. after waiting for her to stop screeching across the door-way to someone else, I had to ask where click and collect was…she wasnt very helpful and just said upstairs.. this store needs more signage and more helpful staff!! The lady at the service desk was very pleasant and gave me my order and i was on my way.. As i had ordered clothing I wanted to try it on before leaving the store. I headed to the fitting rooms and tried my item on along with another item.. whilst in changing, I was shocked to realise this team member was spraying glen 20 or similar, all around the cubicles, of which was going everywhere, this is NOT what you do when there are still people in the change rooms!! Please tell your staff to not do this, very unacceptable and just wrong.. I did mention this to her when I was existing the change room, I got a blank look of I dont care… I wont return to this store unless I am desperate for something. The store was clean and tidy, but that would only be because customers won't go there due to terrible customer service.

I came here because online said the items I wanted was available here. No staff approached me as I circled the store looking for the items. I eventually went to the lay by counter as staff kept walking past me. Lay by staff was trying all she could to find two products that the system said were in stock. I waited ages as she called staff members to assist but no one came. She took my details and told me she would call when she finds a staff member. I ended up finding everything I needed at the reject shop (and cheaper)they had more staff to assisted me as well. As I was about to leave the centre Target called me and found the products in the dock.

I like this shopping centre. It has a decent amount of shopping stores, and although it is something that I don't use, there's ample space to park a car. Buses operating in several directions serve the likes of an aged pensioner and others very well. The food court is excellent . And, I see there's an ANZ Bank branch here as well... that's gotta be a good thing! Now, I actually walked from North Parramatta to the shopping centre . It is a mere 6.5km and took me about 1hr 10min... it's a gradual uphill walk. I am sure there are plenty of people who live locally don't mind that easy stroll either.

Ahh Target. Was brought up thinking it was a chain worse than KMart but have come to realise what a great chain this is! Can’t believe how GOOD their basic clothes are, which tend to last and last, and brands to chose from, not just the one, in-house brand!! (Hating Anko!) Why on earth are they downsizing in Australia? They deserve a better wrap! This one in Carlingford was a surprise - not the biggest but still quite large, and not crowded. If you have a family, it's great value for money!

Very rude older lady on the registers. I politely asked to do a return and she chastised me and rudely told me off saying “you need to do returns upstairs. It’s been like that for years. I don’t know why you’ve come to me” This is not my normal store and as there is no obvious signage, so her attitude was very unexpected. The lady on the returns counter however was delightful, and should be commended for her excellent customer service

After being overcharged for something that had a cheaper price on the shelf tag & then bringing it to the attention of the cashier, she called her supervisor over to ask if she could overwrite the price & she told me in a less than friendly tone "well we're more expensive". I was made to feel like I had done something wrong. I normally like shopping at this Target, but this experience didn't make me feel very nice.

Personally I don't rate my experience at all no staff on floor to help customers and a older rude lady at customer service I will never shop at target again I work for a competition company and know the standard target is a disgrace to the standard staff need training and maybe they don't call their customers liars because the cashier didn't tell the customer that something wasn't returnable

Quite possibly the only two floor Target in Sydney, this store always feels so spacious and comfortable to shop in, with a great range available. This was my first time click and collecting from this store, and the experience was seamless. I live on the central coast (where one of our two Targets was closed last year), and this store is much nicer than the remaining store.

Very friendly staff. I was looking for specific kitchen bowls and could not get them in any other target. I happen to call them and a friendly staff named MICHAEL talked to me very politely over the phone and also searched and gave me call back to let me know the bowls were there at their store. Thank you so much for your help MICHAEL

Exceptional Target store, one of the biggest i've seen. Although we live over 30kms away we make it a day trip to visit this store (and Carlingford Court Shopping centre for that matter) as no other Target stores can compare. Large stock of everything you'd need in all departments, friendly staff and 2 levels of "Tarjay" shopping!

Nothing wrong with this store, but feel very laid back and monotonous in here. It just feels very dead in here. Maybe the location is like that. Nothing wrong with merchandise or the staff. It just the store environment is not very attractive or inviting to me. Just go in there, pick what you need and go.

Terrible experience with click and collect. It's been a week that I ordered a couple of items after making sure that they're available in store but yet to hear from target. They don't pick up phone at Carlingford and there is not another contact. Really annoying.

  • Carolyn Brown

Not a lot of staff, tried to find someone on the floor. Had to go to the register counter on the way out and the scanner I tried to use told me to seek assistance from staff. The woman on the top level was pleasant and helpful

I like this medium-sized store in the neighborhood of Carlingford. You can get all your Manchester, kitchen wares and house hold needs at a reasonable cost. During sales, you can alway find a good bargain.

  • Sanjeevan Prabahar

Large department store. They usually have sales, during which prices are dropped considerably. Fairly good selection of clothes for men and women. Staff are helpful. Good experience as expected at Target.

It might feel like you've travelled back in time to the 90s, but this Target is pretty good. All the things you would expect from a nice updated store like the one in Chatswood but with better service.

  • Trixie C

Store is old & falling apart. Very limited stock, with some areas of the store full & other areas with very little. Would recommend going to a proper Target store elsewhere, hugely disappointing.

  • Lukeismetoo

Target at Carlingford Court is always really handy for those things you can't really get from a grocery store. My kids are always dragging us in so they can check out the books and toys …

  • Sally Fong

Standard target to visit. Plenty of floor space and ample of things to look for. Enjoy the stroll. Their checkouts always has little staff on. Might be worth including a self service to help

The old lady at the doorway with glasses and a bob cut is extremely rude, I go to this store regularly and I frequently have bad experiences with her yelling and harassing me

  • Jeff C

Great little department store to buy your bare essentials when required. Always come here to purchase home decorations, furniture, attire, etc.,

  • Ark Huynh (Long)

This isnt your Typically target store. This one has 2 lvl so it can be a big confusing. But all the stuff are here so nothing much changes

  • MC Alex

Since merging with Kmart, its quality and service went down day by day. Simply Target pushed down to Kmart level. Kmart stays as it is.

  • Tan Tran

Probably one of the best Targets I have been to! Items are stacked nicely on the shelves. Heaps of variety of items! Big store!!

Nice and clean but not very well stocked compared to other targets.... Highlight is the old school lift for the store....
