"This is my favorite Thai restaurant"
Good Thai place. I have to grade this against other Thai joints so I'll say this: it's really good but it's not the best in town. But that doesn't mean it's bad by any means. It was delicious and perfectly spiced and very flavorful but lacked on presentation (no color, no arrangement) and did nothing to really stand out from it's competitors. It was just good, solid Thai. And if u want Thai, this place will hit the spot. Service was great and food was served quickly but it was very slow when we went so I can't attest to busier times. Atmosphere-wise it was quaint but they sat us in front of a oscillating tower fan that quickly became annoying. Small place. Could be pretty tight when busy. Overall, very good but I'm not going to travel out of my way to visit.

I just came back from Thailand and I was craving some amazing Thai food. When you walk in you instantly feel this authenticity about the place. So I was excited to try their authentic meals. However, I was craving the Tom Yum soup and to my disappointment it was nothing like I expected it. I know that it’s unfair to compare but it didn’t look or taste anything like what I expected. I also ordered some pineapple fried rice and it was very good, but of course not the same as it tastes in Thailand. The service was amazing. It was slow during the dinner time, but my waitress was still running around like she was busy. I respect their dedication. Also, make sure to try the mango rice dessert!!! It was delicious. I think I’ll come back next time and give them another chance and try something else on their menu.
We stopped in with my in-laws as this is their favorite place to eat and I wasn’t disappointed. The Thai iced tea was refreshing and something I’d not had before (make sure to order this when visiting). I got the veggie tofu Pad Thai which had a perfect spice level. The broccoli and green beans were a beautiful green while not being undercooked. It was delicious! I knew I needed to save room for dessert, but couldn’t stop eating. Of course I still ordered homemade coconut ice cream and will deal with being overly full. Aurathai, the owner, was so sweet and funny. Talking with here while ordering and in between was a joy. The only drawback is I live in Ohio, so it will be too long before I can indulge again.

Was invited to Taste Of Thai tonight by my son did not know what to expect? What I had was an amazing experience where the food was abundantly flavorful with robust taste and fairly priced. There are several levels of "hotness" I chose mild which was the perfect starting point for me i was so impressed with the atmosphere in this family owned and operated establishment and i cant say enough about the dishes. There were so many things happening in my mouth it was like WOW! Certainly try this place Momma is the owner directly from Thailand....so hospitable and definitely genuine in her approach ....Thank You... Thank you Definitely will be back with more friends! :)
This is my favorite Thai restaurant. Aura is the owner and mother in residence. Many customers refer to her as "Mama." The lunch menu offers soup or salad, 3 choices of entree, and the popular spring roll with sweet red sauce. The food is done and served quickly to accommodate the lunch crowd. Mama zips around doing everything to keep everyone happy, and somehow takes time to visit. This is a very small and cozy place, without the noise and confusion of other places. You can actually have a conversation! Dinner is equally as good with an extensive menu for a small restaurant. Next lunch hour, go and introduce yourself. You will leave satisfied and relaxed.
Love Taste of Thai and the food is so good. I've tried the fresh spring rolls and that sauce they use is reallly tasty. The fried rolls are to die for as well. I've had the curry and the rice dishes. They always come out great. Now, the owner.....she is a force! She is super nice, funny and talks to you like you are friends. She remembers everything I ate the last time. How? I DON"T KNOW! But it is truly jaw-dropping mentally.

My favorite Thai restaurant! I've been going to Taste of Thai since they opened in the 90s. Aurathai and her staff treat me and other regular customers like family. Whenever I bring someone who is new to Thai food the waiter or waitress makes them feel at home and patiently explains different dishes, makes recommendations, and provides great service. I have quite a few favorite dishes and appetizers but I especially like the curries. The spices have a more complex, delicious flavor to me than other places I've been. I don't know if it's because of more fresh ingredients or some other reason but it's wonderful!!
Have been frequenting Taste of Thai for over 9 years and never have I had a "less-than" excellent meal. Always the freshest vegetables, chicken and the jasmine rice cooked to perfection and a dessert to rival any out in a restaurant today, the Sticky Rice with mango. The portions are generous. The owner, Aurathai, is the best hostess any where. Makes us feel like we are dining at her home with all the grace and poise of the First Lady of any nation. We drive for 45 minutes one-way to dine at Taste of Thai and are thrilled to find a vacant table to start our enjoyment of our dining experience every time.
We tried their takeout pad Thai and their equivalent of the peanut amazing. The pad Thai dish was disgusting. It tasted like it was frozen and defrosted and served. It had no flavor and the noodles were mushy. I didn’t even finish it, I threw it away. The peanut amazing dish was ok but still very bland with flavor. For the amount they charge you do NOT get your money’s worth. We will not be returning as there are plenty of other Thai restaurants in town that provide fresh, flavorful food.
The food was okay. The lady at the counter was so sweet. I ordered the chicken pad thai. The serving of noodles was plentiful but the chicken, eggs, and sprouts were not. I ordered a spice level 3, which was a lot less spicier than surrounding restaurants. It also lacked that semi-sweet taste that most american restaurant pad thai has. The spring roll was very very good, although burnt a little at the end. Also, the special was supposed to come with rice, but I did not get any.
Just finished dinner at Taste of Thai -- first time there and it was fabulous! We are on this side of town after evacuating from the Beach -- the owner was about to close up but served us with a smile. We started with the Fresh Spring Rolls and they were very fresh. Husband had Chili Oil Stir Fry with Shrimp, daughter had Pineapple Fried Rice, I had the Green Curry I. All was fresh and delicious. At least one good thing came out of Hurricane Matthew! We will definitely return.
Best Thai Food in Jax by a mile!! I have been eating at Taste of Thai since I was in high school which was 14 years ago. It has remained delicious, flavorful and very reasonably priced. Much more authentic than Basil Thai & Sushi in San Marco and Indochine downtown. Plus, it is owned by a wonderful family. The crispy spring rolls, yellow curry and mango or coconut ice cream with friend bananas is to die for!! Please go in and try it out today!! You will NOT be disappointed!!
I had the chicken pad thai, Thai tea, and coconut soup. They all tasted like they were a day too old to serve. But then for dessert, because of the other posted comments, I ordered the homemade coconut ice cream, and got the fried bananas on top. The presentation was beautiful and it tastes even better! If I go back, it would just be for dessert.

This place was awesome! It's a small Thai restaurant that seemed family owned. We went in to get food to go, but sat at a table to order. It was very clean and had a wonderful atmosphere. From the tables to the setup of the restaurant, it was quite the perfect little place to eat. We were greeted with warm smiles and hellos. Our order was taken immediately and prepared fresh. The food was amazing too! I definitely recommend this place to dine in or take out!
Clean restaurant and the lady that works there is very nice. You get a lot of food for your money, a whole container full. I had the Pad Siew with pork and it was filling and delicious. I ordered the native seasoning option and it was just the right amount of heat for me; Pretty spicy but not to the point where eating it was a challenge. I had someone else try it though and they said it was too hot, so know yourself before you try it.
Such an amazing Thai restaurant. The food is phenomenal, the service was sublime and overall, an incredible place to dine. I felt at home as it is a family owned, humble business. I'd definitely come back.

Our favorite Thai restaurant. The owner is a beautiful, wonderful woman named Arathai and she is an excellent hostess. She remembers every customer and the restaurant has many repeat customers. The service is outstanding, and the food is delicious, home style Thai...not like some restaurants that claim to be Thai. I have spent time in Thailand, so believe me when I say that Taste of Thai is the real deal. Please check it out.
Amazing food and amazing service! The owner is so accommodating and pleasant to work with. Her warm personality makes you feel like family! I have also ordered caterings for work lunches from here and my coworkers love it. She does a great job accommodating us with vegetarian dishes for those that prefer it in our office as well. I finally brought my husband here and he loved it! We will continue to come back!
Could not recommend this place enough! We've had the spicy chicken pad thai at least once a week over the past few months and it is absolutely one of the best pad thai's we've ever had! Plus, the food is all made by the nicest woman we've ever met! Try the chicken pad thai, spicy if you like spicy food, you will not be disappointed! We will continue to be regular customers for as long as this place is open!
I didn't know anyone who has ever eaten here before just found this Thai restaurant from google. It was an awesome experience! The food was the best Thai I have had in the states. The owner was so warm, welcoming and very hard working. I live an hour away from the restaurant but I will certainly make the drive the next time I want Thai food. It was so delicious just makes my mouth water thinking about it.
Hands down THE best Thai food in Jax..... Amazing service and reasonable prices.... But the taste and quality of food is the true highlight here.. Well worth the drive if you are in the mood for Thai food.... You will not be disappointed. Fair warning.... their HOT is hot....you can have them make the food mild or medium, they are more than accomodating to your preference. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Horrible! Don't trust what you eat at this place. I went here a few times and the lady was nice. Today was my 4th visit and I should have listed to my friend who told me they were sited for filth in their restaraunt. My husband and I found not 1 but 2 flies in our orders! I am so disgusted. She then overcharged me for my curry order as well! Nah , I'll pass. Keep your filth to yourself.
Friendly staff, for came out quick. Chicken coconut milk soup was not good, but it's my first time trying it, so maybe it's just the flavor profile I didn't like. Fried spring rolls were over-fried, almost burnt. Beef garlic and fried rice were average at best. Won't be going back. I've had much better thai food. Way over-rated.

20 years ago we lived nearby and ate here regularly. We moved to another part of town and have since tried many Thai restaurants around Jax.Taste of Thai never left my heart and has remained my favorite. Recently we returned and were pleased that the owner remembered us, and that the quality of her food has not waned in the slightest! Best Ginger stir fry in Jax!
Best Thai food ever!!! Every time the food is amazing. We try something different every time and the owner is so sweet. She takes great care of her customers and always remembers us!!! We got the whole fried fish this last time and it as mouth watering! Don’t leave without ordering her ice cream with the bananas I always come here when I come back into town!
You might miss this place if you aren’t paying attention but it’s definitely worth checking out. The authentic Thai food here is some of the best in town. Casual and relaxed atmosphere here, owners and staff are very friendly and did I mention how good the food is? It’s a place the locals know about so if your in the mood for Thai this is a great choice
We love that place. lovely lady that owns and runs. Excellent food, fresh and simply delicious. I miss Jacksonville as there no Taste of Thai here in hazlehurst Georgia. Now am in trouble. After this survey. I need lol Almost 3 hours away. But when we return to Jacksonville. Make no mistake we will return as long as she is still running Taste of Thai.
Usually go for a quick lunch when on that side of town. They only offer daily specials for lunch, but fine by me. Feels like your moms kitchen!

Don't know why this isn't a top Thai food place here in Jax. Food is amazing and service is top tier. I drive all the way across town to come here and recommend this place to anyone and everyone when Thai and Chinese food comes up in conversation. Do yourself a favor and give taste of Thai a shot you won't be disappointed.
We were wanting thai and they were open and I will say they did not disappoint! We had crispy spring rolls, pineapple fried rice, shrimp pad thai Cashew chicken and native thai drunken noodles(love the burn)everthing was great! Finished it with mango ice cream. Will return.

Needed some quick vegan food and stumbled upon this place. They listed vegan options on their menu so I gave it a shot and was not disappointed. The tofu drunken noodles were very satisfying and I they gave me quite a large portion. My food was ready in minutes and the service was great. Would definitely dine at again!
Only been going to this gem of a place for about 10 years. So, I’m late to the game. This place is the hole in wall for great Thai food in town. Consistently great every day of the week. Do yourself a favor, get the curry special on any given day. A true lesser known destination spot in Jax. You can thank me later.
Was in town and in the mood for Thai. Had the Tom Young soup as well as the duck curry. Both were absolutely delicious. Had the #4 spice level and it was perfect if you like hot. Enough to feel it but didn't make the food tasteless. Really enjoyed it and will definitely go again next time I am in Jacksonville.
Thai cuisine is one of our favorites, and this restaurant is by far our favorite Thai restaurant in Jacksonville. A small restaurant with very authentic Thai dishes and flavors. We are especially fond of the curries and of the Thom ka Gai coconut soup. Off the beaten path, but worth the effort and the trip.
This was the first time I had thai food and it was amazing! My husband had the red chicken curry and I had the chicken in peanut sauce. Both were soooo good! Then we had the fried banana with homemade coconut ice cream-it was delishous! The owner Aura was so friendly. We have a new favorite restaurant!
The most delicious Thai food. I have been to many Thai places but no one makes it better than these guys. The lady has almost memorized our order and is quite funny. The panang taste just like my mum used to make it! Comfort food. Don't forget to order steamed dumplings! One of the best on the menu
We eat Thai all over the country and nothing beats Taste of Thai. Tom Yum is out of this world, Pad Siew is so complex in taste. Don’t hesitate on the Home made coconut ice cream with fried bananas! The owner makes anything gluten free for my wife which pushes this place to the next level. Done!
We had the Fried Seafood Chile style and the Indian Yellow Curry Shrimp and Scallops Curry. Both tasted delicious! The Yellow Curry sauce was plentiful, good and coconutty. The Chile sauce was flavorful and a perfect compliment to the thin batter-fried seafood which had jumbo shrimp. A winner!
Friendly Thai "Aunty", and "Grandma" making food that will make your whole day. Complex, layered, filling, comforting. This is food that makes you happy. Masaman Curry, Stir Fry, Coconut soups.... They are in a plaza with Korean BBQ, Fusion Pizza, Middle Eastern Food and they beat them all.
overall the food was good but I was disappointed by the lack of spiciness. I ordered hot expecting some heat because its thai food, but I guess there was a mixup because it was not spicy whatsoever. I guess order extra hot if u want it spicy.

I love this place. Been coming here since I moved to Jacksonville and I can't find a Thai place better. The owner is a super sweet lady also and you can't beat their lunch special. I've never tried anything here I didn't like; if you haven't been, you're missing out. Check this place out.
The two star is because the atmosphere is good. The service was excellent. The food was tasteless. The plates were small for the price. The Satay chicken was as small as the stick it was on. They do not accept Amex. We were a party of three and we all hold the same thoughts on quality.
My husband had the green curry - This is amazing !!! The owner is fabulous- she made us feel like sitting at home - laughs were as great as the food... then meal was done we tried the HOME MADE coffee Ice cream with a fried banana... this was our 1st time but it will not be our last...
If I could choose one word to describe Aura and her food....it would be LOVING. This is more than food. It's magic. It's homey and warm and special. There's no such thing as other Thai restaurants....this is the only place you can feel this welcome, satisfied and treated like family.
While the service was excellent, the food left something lacking. Overly sweet yellow curry, bland wonton soup. The Pad Thai was decent , but not enough to win us over. Additionally, food was overpriced compared to the portion sizes. Probably will not return for the food.
If you have never been here, you are truly missing out. I go every time I am working in Jacksonville. The food is amazing, mama is amazing (cannot remember her name so I call her mama). I bring clients and co-workers here. They all rave. Don’t miss out on great Thai food.
Love the food here I always get Tofu Red Curry with vegetables and I love it more everytime! I have loved the few other things I have gotten from here too. The owner is very lovely and sweet and very quick with orders. I call in my orders and its always a 10-20 min wait!
Mama Thai is a legend. The fact that she can remember you and all the other regulars never fails to amaze me. We usually go on tuesdays for the red curry lunch special but you cannot go wrong here. The customer service is the best I’ve ever had, don’t pass this place up.

Lovely owners/chefs and scrumptious food. We had red curry with shrimp and Thai style fried rice with chicken. Both were absolutely delicious but be warned, even "medium" spice level is pretty spicy. Definitely don't hesitate to check this place out!
Delicious, reasonably priced meals with a daily menu and protein/vegetarian options. Very cozy and homey, in all good ways, and the owner is a Jacksonville treasure. In a shopping plaza with an Asian market and a Middle Eastern/Mediterranean market.

Amazing tasty Thai food in good portions. The curry was delicious and their home-made banana ice cream is better than any commercially made desserts I've had recently. I'd recommend this lowkey restaurant to my friends!

Amazing Thai food cooked and served by Mama Thai! The beef salad was one of the best I’ve ever had but the coconut ice cream was hands down the show stopper. We live a hour away and it’s worth the drive.
Have eaten here numerous times over the past 15 years and haven't had a dish I didn't like. The food is delectable, authentic and the quality is always impeccable. Great for family dining or date night.
I ordered 2 orders of pork spring rolls to go and they were literally the worst thing I ever tasted, they were cut in half and messy as hell to eat. I can't believe I wasted $14 on that garbage.
Love this place. Still one of the best restaurants in Jacksonville with the most expensive plates inexpensive around $20. If you love spicy food this restaurant is a big plus up for you.
Hands down best Thai Jacksonville. Best pad Thai, best panang, best Thai tea. Wish I had been going years ago and found this place sooner! Sweet lady runs it and is personable and kind.

Best panang curry i've ever had. The owner served our party of eight and she was incredibly sweet and attentive. Definitely get one of their homemade ice creams...Coconut, ftw!
An idyllic delight. The wait staff was phenomenal. The red curry was perfectly cooked and flavored. Spring rolls were light and crisp. Would highly recommend this hidden gem.

The food was amazing! Best authentic Thai food experience and the owner was so incredibly sweet! She made our experience and time in Jacksonville one to remember!
This is the absolute best Thai food I have ever had. Small family owned place that has amazing food. I will go here everytime I get Thai food and nowhere else.
The best Thai food in town! If you want a really authentic Thai soup that would be the place. I am a regular client and the food is always Amazing . …
