"You can buy vegetables, fruits, and meat in relatively cheaper price"
"Fish section is terrible, freezing items are not looking good, price of Vegetables are really fluctuating, like extremely higher price was yesterday but the same item put in dollars pack today and none is good to accept"
"Horrible staff, especially the asian girl, who is always on the right side of counter"
"This grocery store in the Birchmount Plaza is in a sorry state"
"Rotting produce, expired product on shelves, and cashiers up charging and changing the price at will, or labeling wrong on the shelves and removing the tags when “checking the price” for customers when they complain"
You can buy vegetables, fruits, and meat in relatively cheaper price. Everything else is regular price. Most workers here barely speaks any english, but they mostly understands what you are saying, so customer service is acceptable. I would reccomend not to buy chicken from here. Usually vegetables are the cheapest.
Fish section is terrible, freezing items are not looking good, price of Vegetables are really fluctuating, like extremely higher price was yesterday but the same item put in dollars pack today and none is good to accept. People working in Cash section need more training about product, price and service. Thanks
Horrible staff, especially the asian girl, who is always on the right side of counter. I am their regular customer and still she don’t know how to treat us. Keeps on speaking in their own language infront of customers. Totally unprofessional. Store manager or owner should definitely teach her how to behave.
This grocery store in the Birchmount Plaza is in a sorry state. Prices are cheaper, but the quality of the products is horrible. Many of the products are either expired or rotten. The shelves are also mostly empty and disorganized. Overall, cleanliness is also very bad. It smells and is very unpleasant.
Rotting produce, expired product on shelves, and cashiers up charging and changing the price at will, or labeling wrong on the shelves and removing the tags when “checking the price” for customers when they complain. The downfall of this grocery store is awful and it’s only getting worse.
Since the renovation, this supermarket has been a big letdown. They usually don't have stocks of anything, selling expired items, and not-so-fresh fruits and veggies are a bummer. Plus, the customer service was bad. Hoping for an improvement soon as the only other nearby store shut down.
Great prices but staff is ridiculously unprofessional. I asked an employee “ where do you keep chapatis”. Not only she could not speak in proper English but she laughed on me. I instantly warned her not to laugh on your customers. She still did not bother to apologise. Worst !
The fruits and vegetables are rotten, some shelves are pretty empty, the staff aren't very welcoming and give many looks not knowing the proper reason. I don't recommend people going into that Market. I know the price isn't that bad but everything is rotten and expired.
Prices are ok but the items are not fresh I am agree that what you pay what you get. However, they added one bogus item with the price of 4:37 which I hadn't bought green beans. I called them but they don't response properly and hung the phone. SO BE CAREFUL everyone.
This is worst grocery store I have ever been. All are expired rotten products they are selling in high prices. I have bought 8 products. I had to thrown all fishes, fruits & vegetables. This is shameful & dishonest. The store should close or freeze immediately.
The grocery store has everything and even really clean and neat. But I hate the fact that they mark up everything by 1 or 2 dollars and I find it a bit costly. There is hardly anyone coming to this store. If you can manage to buy outside, then skip this store.
All the trash fruits are sold here. May be price is lower, but you can't expect anything fresh. Just one year earlier, things were much better. But then it started deteriorating. For example, most blueberries comes up with fungus. You can check by your selves.
Bought frozen waxy corn, boiled it after I got home, took a bite and it was rotten. Probably expired a year ago in the freezer. Do not trust anything in this store to be fresh. If you can't find an expiry date label on the product then do not buy it.
This place looks like it's going out of business, around a third of the shelves are empty. And the items are 10-20% more costly than any regular grocery store. Checkout staff wasn't aware of sale prices. Don't bother with this sad sack store.
man theres lots of expired products. it's mainly asian people that shop here so when you buy products that are more westernized they're usually expired since they dont sell and just sit on shelf. i just bought some pizza pockets and they're
I first reviewed Tasteco about a year ago with 5 stars!... Today im dropping it to 1 star. This WAS my go to shopping stop for meat, fish and vegetables and fruits, however today is the last day I will be shopping here. When I went to do my
Experiences is good, the products improved, guessing due to different owners...but this place needs a bit of customer service skills. Very impolite cashiers, and they are suppose to be the face of the store. Even the people that work in the
I hadn't been here for a while, but we decided to pop in on our walk to get a few things instead of going to Sun Valley. Wow, has this place ever gone downhill! Smells terrible, like urine and rotting produce. A lot of things are super
The supermarket experience was worst. The two Punjabi girls at the front cash counter was playing irrelevant Punjabi music in whole supermarket. I bought 4L pack of Milk and 1 box of yogurt and went to cash it out at the front, the Punjabi
It is a good place with a reasonable prices, and I always find something to buy, especially fruits with a decent price compared with other stores, even No Frills or Food Basic. I found some reviews really exaggerated and not realistic, but
It's good for what it is and just like 95% of all other Asian supermarkets, don't expect the place to be immaculate or the staff to go out of their way. They are more than happy to help you if you ask and the prices are decent. If you want
Worst grocery store, one could have see on earth. Their are selling inferior quality products. I've bought veggies twice from them and imagine all were Totton both the times. If one tries to handpick good veggies out of entire bracket, one
horrible grocery store...please someone complain to Toronto/ontario food quality department. Many vegetables are rotten, even bad veg and foods put in sale. Before it is managed and good but now all the changes very bad. Meat section also
ROTTEN Fruit, expired goods everywhere and flies taking over, I feel ashmed to have this in our community. Right across the way is SUNVALLEY;Quality! Do yourself a favour, stay away from Tasteco! Health DPT should stop by and have a look.
Store smells revolting. The produce is half rotten and if that smell doesn't drive you out than the smell of the fish and meat department will for sure. I bought coffee cream there one time and the stores odour had actually permeated the
Just your basic messy asian supermarket. Theres many good snacks and drinks. Also the fresh produce is quite nice and cheap. The staff are kind and helpful. I dont get why people complain about the store removing plastic bags. It really
Great prices. Especially on vegetables and fruits. Chinese superstore. Alot of Asian products. Almost all employees are chinese so expect some of them to have difficulty understanding english. But almost all cashiers know english. Halal
Rotten, dirty, expired and very putrid Chinese Grocery Store. I think they would close down this store even if it was in China! Veggies and other groceries are close to rotten, most things are empty, whatever remaining are hilariously
Excellent neighborhood supermarket, they have plenty of good deals and pretty well stocked despite covid-19. Some of the refrigerators seem like they had better days but overall great supermarket and a big asset to the local community.
It's a nice store and food are cheaper than other Chinese supermarket in Toronto. Fruit and vegetables are fresh and clean. Supply the various foods with appropriate price even cheaper. Will visit again and introduced it to my friends.
This place is pretty terrible. Used to be a Fu Yao branch, but then changed hands to someone else and in the last year or two had really gone down the drain. Limited produce, sells more middle eastern foods now, and anytime you go
It's an Asian supermarket with decent prices and foods. Plenty of interesting choices for meats, fish and seasoning. I really like their fruits and veggies, they stand apart from low tier places like No Frills and Food Basics.
Cheaper than other places, especially produce and meat. But sometimes they continue selling produce that has outlived its shelf life. Totally fine if you're going to cook it anyways but not great if you want to eat it raw.
Rotten food in frozen sections...I experienced this multiple times and notified them but no change. Frozen burger were gray color from mould and same for frozen vege. I don't understand how they pass the food safety checks
I bought a fish from the fresh fish counter and it was spoiled. The person at the counter must have noticed that it was not fresh, but still sold it. Don't buy meats from there. Packaged stuff and vegetables are OK
A good shop for all you need...But they lack cleanliness and customer service. If you know what you want, then help yourself. No one is there to help as the staff does not interact and understand much english.
The service is okay, but the groceries are priced fairly. Dont buy the frozen fish sticks, bought it twice and both time they were spoiled. Like they were unfrozen and frozen again multiple times.
Good deals on vegetables and some fruits if they look fresh. Owner does not open on time. Store opens at 9am and 9:09am workers were outside waiting for someone to come open the front door.
Very bad experience today. Literally worst management policy. No complain about customer service. There are no trolley inside and outside. And they deploys new rule to
Great for quick grocery. They have fresh fish and halal chicken counter. You'll find some special spices and ingredients for Indian, Asian and West Indian cooking too.
Has all the staples, colorful veggie and fruit section, very affordable. At times checkout can be clogged but usually a smooth process with free plastic bags!
Adequate Asian grocery store, has most of the basics and many specialty items. A little disorganized, hence the loss of 1 star.
Nice Store atmosphere & decor are appealing. Fresh food, vegetables, fruits, beverage is good. Store is conveniently located.
Been twice in the last month. Got what I went for. Prices are decent. Lots of empty produce shelves. Messy front entrance.
This place is a joke. The distinctive smell from the meat department, the quality of produce. Horrid
Used to be good. Now there are only empty shelves and rotten veggies. Bad change of management.
Newly renovated need to see if any improvement from pathetic maintenance before renovation
Got poisoned from their rotten meat. Never again.
Fresh & Cheap vegetables. Recommended.
