The head office is quite huge and looks nice from the outside and not the inside, it would be nice if Tazara did some renovations on all their offices/ stations because at head office while it was raining water started dripping from the ceiling to the floor. The washrooms are not well kept they smell bad. The 1st and 2nd class waiting rooms have chairs that are not comfortable, and the waiting rooms are not that spacious compared to the number of passengers on board. The train fares are very affordable, and on the train the staff regularly clean the coaches. The staff are also friendly especially on the ordinary train from Zambia to Tanzania. If you want to have an experience of nice scenery definitely travel by train. Zambia's scenery is boring but the moment you leave the Tunduma border post you'll enjoy your trip.

TAZARA is so far the best train to travel with, an adventurous trip from Dar es Salaam to Kapiri Mposhi- Zambia. You pass through Morogoro and Mbeya mainly and through Mpika and Serenje. The train also passes through Selous Game Reserve when boarding from Dar during the day. The First class has very good coaches with a lounge, bar and kitchen. Good clean toilets and great comfortable beds. Very enjoyable indeed.

The train station is huge. Ticket counter opens at 7.30 am. Trains depart twice a week to Zambia, 2pm on tuesdays and 4pm on fridays. The travel by train is very long but magnificent. Your luggage will be checked for security reasons by a dog before getting on the train. There are not so many 1st class beds so it's better to book in advance to be safe.

Book the Tazara train only when you are not on a strict schedule since the train is bound to delay. I loved the food on the train. It was very delicious. What I didn’t like was the state of the cabins. They surely can improve. The train ride was to take 24hrs from Mbeya to Dar Es Salaam but we ended up taking 29/30hrs. It was a long painful ride.

Nice old building. Came to collect tickets for train (booked in advance using a whatsapp number for main ticket sales man someone gave us) and then next day for train. Security for travellers is quite funny - "do you have any weapons? no? good. enjoy your journey". Train ride was just incredible. Use uber to get here as super cheap.

Enormous train station with traditional Swahili architecture. Pretty close to both the airport and central Dar es Salaam. Note of advice: if Dar is the last stop on your TAZARA journey, although they normally take the ticket from you, if you ask to keep it, you can normally keep it as a souvenir!

Railway transport service to Zambia. Old railway station, not well maintained. I recommend 1st class for cozy, comfortability, space area to sleep, mini bar. be cautioned with your luggages when travelling. Yellow fever vaccination card is a must.

Biggest Railway transport facility in Tanzania, available trains to travel to Zambia and even to South Africa trips are available. The locals use the cheap class, there you must always look for your luggage. The first class is atleast comfortable

Old station that has seen better days. I had a great trip on the Tazara train. Pro trip: go to the nearby Quality Centre shopping mall to buy snacks and boxes of wine, you will thank me later.

Heavy traffic at nearby junction during peak hours, if you are heading to airport through here, plan your journey accordingly, thank me later.

A pretty old train station, and they do security check in an very old-fashioned way but the 2 nights train experience was fun!!
