This place has potential but customer service needs improvement. I ordered an iced chai tea latte and when the person who took our order asked if I wanted sweetener, we told him yes, two pumps. Instead of just adding sweetener, he added pumpkin spice flavoring onto our ticket. Mind you, he did not ask anything about flavor and just entered the pumpkin spice on his own. My partner assumed that was just how they rung up sweetening additions and thought my drink would just contain simple syrup, since I didn’t even ask for flavoring, but I tasted it when we got home, and there was indeed pumpkin spice added. I don’t like pumpkin spice at all and wouldn’t have chosen that, had he asked. My partner called up to the shop and politely asked for the drink to be remade. The owner was a bit snippy as she apologized for “the misunderstanding”and stated that she would not replace it. Usually, I wouldn’t trip over something like this, but a) this drink was quite pricey for a small tea latte (around $9) and b) they charged me extra for flavoring when I only asked for sweetener AND just selected a random flavor without asking me. I would not expect a business to replace something that I asked for and simply didn’t like, but I do believe that if you make a mistake and mess up a customer’s order, it should be replaced without issue. This could have been a simple fix.

I had a taste for a croissant breakfast sandwich and had some time to kill, so I decided to try this place. To my disgust and disappointment, I opened up the container to some sort of grey, disk like sausage, I know it's turkey, but I've had better turkey sausages, and some sort of yellow, egg-like disk with cheese microwave burnt into the croissant. Didn't have time to stop somewhere else to get another sandwich so I ate around it and could only stomach eating the top croissant. This is not the place to breakfast sandwiches, just tea or muffins. Just letting you know what you'll get if you order that. Oh, and sir or ma'am, whoever responds to these reviews, I WANT you to respond nasty to me! PLEASE do! Signed, PETTIANA. You might be petty, I'M PETTIER! I took the liberty of posting a video from the place I SHOULD HAVE gotten my sandwich from, but I had been wanting to try this place. Look at the egg. Real eggs, cracked. Not some mystery substance disguised as egg. Should I name the place so everyone can go there instead?

I absolutely love tea! I had been looking for a cute, aesthetic bakery place that had tea and/or coffee or something in Chicago that I could go to with my dad when Google recommended this place for me. I went there on Mother's Day and got a peach tea and some macarons and absolutely loved it! My dad got a soup of some sort and also thought it was great. They were so good, in fact, that I ended up bring like 6 of them home for a few of my friends. I got back in the car to leave and realized that there wasn't going to be enough for everyone. I went back in and got more and everything was good. We drove around Chicago for a little longer looking for cool things and I ended up going back AGAIN to get even more! The staff were so nice about it and one of them even made a joke about me thinking they were so good I came back twice! The entire place literally made my entire weekend better and I'm so glad I found it. I will definitely be going back! Side note: I came all the way from in northwest Indiana just to try this place and and I was not at all disappointed!

Just walked here based on reviews and WOW, just WOW. The service was horrid. I was greeted with a smirk from the guy behind the counter, talking to me in a tone like I clearly was not welcomed AT ALL. ZERO eye contact and rushing me like I was an inconvenience, no line behind me. I asked for the quiche and asked how it was. Really short he said “It’s great, I’m out”. The guy making the coffee just handed the coffee to me with nothing to say. Lady walks in right behind me and gets “good morning, menu on the counter for you” She asks for the quiche “Oh it’s still in the oven” with a smile. Almost like they wanted me to notice the difference in service. It was wild!!! I asked for raw sugar for my coffee…condescendingly told “on the table”. I have never been treated that way in any coffee shop in any place in the world, ever. Apparently not welcome if you look Hispanic or if you just threw on a baseball hat for a stroll and walk in. You will be judged for who knows why. Horrible place!!! Stay away!!!

terrible. presumed owner who's only one at counter is moody as eff!! incredibly emotionally labile (?maybe time to see a shrink/rehab facility). guy's barely civil, really poor eye contact. one moment will offer Hello, another moment incredibly rude and abrasive, psycho. i tried to stop by w/ my dog and he goes patronizingly: i don't allow dogs, this is a RESTAURANT. read the sign." one, joker: get a grip of yourself and calm the hell down, i didn't notice the sign obviously. two: maybe consider opening a newspaper or magazine and reading it- cuz there are PLENTY of highly legitimate and popular eateries where dogs are very much welcome FYI. good thing there are plenty of other places run by decent human beings w/ actual manners that i can take my business too. other downsides: not a great neighborhood around store and if there is ever a time when one doesn't hear someone screaming obscenities as one drives past brewery, it's seriously a miracle. go at your own risk ICK

Brought our high school students with special needs to Tea Pot Brew Bakery for a Community lesson. At first AP was the only employee there and he took on our (rather large!) group like a complete professional. He was patient and personable with our students, didn't seem stressed at all that there were a lot of customers to assist, and really helped our guys have the most positive and successful community lesson imaginable. Veranda also came while we were there and she was also excellent! Such a positive and friendly vibe from the whole place. General consensus from our crew was that the food and drinks were excellent too. I'm not a huge tea drinker and the hot tea I got was outstanding. Highly highly recommend them to anyone; Tea Pot Brew Bakery is an excellent small business to support!

Oatmilk Chai tea latte was absolutley fantastic! The Mixed Berry Coffee Cake is to die for (especially when it's warm)! I appreciate the warm customer service that feels personal and genuine.

First time customer and last. Morning of sat. May15, I asked the the female clerk about the sandwich options and she told me to read the menu.. She then proceeded to incorrectly complete our order (read the ticket?) and lied about the cup sizes to cover it up.. no offer to correct the error. Lastly, as we were walking out, she called us back in to clean off our table, which is fair but her attitude was clearly hostile. Consider replacement, she repels customers. Shame because the location is great but there’s better options around anyways. The sandwich was also sub par btw.. and few of the already few menu items weren’t available. Edit: you come off very aggressive as previous reviews would also suggest. Perhaps consider it or a non-customer facing role... Have a great one too.

  • Charlene

Not impressed with their customer service. Came in with my 3month old puppy who was on a leash because they weren’t accepting online orders so I simply could not just pick up. Asked if I could just pay for my drink and step outside because I didn’t have anyone with me to watch my dog. The guy at counter says” no we had a really bad dog fight here and I don’t want problems” I don’t understand what that has to do with my puppy especially because there were no other dogs at all. I just want to pay and step outside as I was next in line but I’ll take my money elsewhere. First time here and last, you can tell by the way the owner responds to 1 star reviews he doesn’t understand how to give customer service but just be bitter and mean.

I've been coming here for a while now and it is my go-to spot for blueberry muffins with a good coffee, they muffins are incredible and the best I've had anywhere else. Their bakery in general is top notch and you will not be disappointed in any of their offerings. Plenty of coffee and tea options along with flavorings, and again, the coffee and tea is great. There's some really interesting tea flavors I haven't seen everywhere and it's great to have that many options. The employees here are always amazing and friendly I've never had any bad experience at all, and the outdoor seating is great to have! Can't say enough good things about TeaPot, come here if you haven't yet!

TeaPotBrew is not just a south loop gem, it is also one of the best bakery cafes in Chicago! The variety of coffee and tea flavors is really amazing! The customizable chai tea hits the spot for me. The pastries are always made fresh and simply delightful. My favorite are the scones, especially the blueberry, so delicious! Also, the staff are excellent, attentive and very friendly. The shop is super cute and smells so heavenly! I’ve had lunch here as well and the savory fare is very scrumptious.

What an absolutely lovely place to stop by at the start of the day! We had two of their coffee drinks to go, and they were the perfect pick-me-ups: Well-made and delicious. Love the kitschy décor and outdoor mural — really made this spot stand out, and we couldn’t wait to try it — it did not disappoint: We will certainly be back to try more from their handcrafted menu items!

I went to the grand opening of the bakery and was impressed! This neck of the South Loop needs a cafe and bakery. This is a family-owned spot with an owner who has put her blood, sweat, and tears into this project. The transformation of this space is nothing short of amazing. The owner might need to start an interior design firm. The pastries I tried were delicious. They have breakfast sandwiches, muffins, scones, breads, etc. and teas and coffee. Veranda, the owner, is a very gifted baker. A great place to grab a bite and spend some time with neighbors. Support this delightful cafe. They serve Rishi teas and Metropolis coffee.

  • Concetta Hoekstra

WOW! I had an amazing experience at TeaPotBrew Bakery. My colleagues and I brought over 20 of our young adult students to this bakery to enjoy a sweet afternoon treat. AP was the only one working and was able to give all 20+ customers his full attention and prepare each order as asked! AP had a wonderful personality that left us all smiling and laughing. Eventually, AP was joined by Veranda who was also so kind and a huge help! The teas were absolutely delicious. Such fun and exciting flavors. The baked goods were mouthwatering and definitely something you should take home to share! I cannot wait to visit again.

Very good local coffee shop! I pass by TeaPotBrew Bakery every morning on the way to dropping off my daughter at school. Always a great experience with excellent coffee and bagels. Very accessible if you're on a bike or using a big stroller. Witnessed a very strange customer who was very argumentative and made completely baseless accusations (wish I took a video because it was truly wild). The staff were calm and professional the entire time and handled it much better than I would have. I will definitely be coming by more often.

I loved that place! The atmosphere was so cool, everyone was smiling and in a good mood, joking around. They were the nicest people ever. They had an amazing collection of tea and they knew what they were doing (they timed their tea instead of leaving the tea bag inside. That’s how you know they are real with their tea). Banana bread was phenomenal, so moist inside. And you can see her baking goods right there! I loved that place. I wish we lived in Chicago to go more often.

Yearly my family goes for high tea to kick off the Christmas season. Due to Covid, that was unable to happen this year. I called TeaPotBrew Bakery inquiring if they could help in providing an at home high tea menu. Without hesitation they said yes and problem solved how to make my family’s yearly tradition still happen! In the end, provided the most amazing custom high tea menu complete with scones, finger sandwiches, macaroons, other assorted desserts, and a wonderful cake to go with. To top it off their customer service is the best I’ve ever encountered. Thank you TeaPotBrew Bakery!

Please do not think you are just coming In here to grab you some lipton tea or your gas station coffee. Selections upon selections...I love the fact that she has such a variety of decaffeinated teas. Customer service was great as soon as I stepped in. Nothing big but just cozy with a few seats. Visiting from another state and finding this gem was awesome. I wish you all the best in the future.

I went to Teapot Brew about noon on Saturday. There were very few products available other than tea. I bought a brownie, and I will give it very high marks. It was huge and it was very good. I would like to come back another time, to see if they have a better selection of baked goods, but my initial impression was one of disappointment, with mostly empty bakery cases.

Just visited this gem today and I was surprisingly pleased. The service was impeccable and they were so friendly. My niece had a slice of their best selling coffee cake and she said it was amazing. I had the quiche and I truly enjoyed it. The chi, ginger, turmeric tea gave me life. I don’t want it to end. The food is very flavorful. I will definitely visit again. I feel very happy for them and pray that their business will be abundantly blessed with success. Must visit!!!

Cute little tea shop and bakery with garage style doors. Indoor and possibly outdoor seating available (it was raining when I stopped in). They had many tea and flavoring options. I got lost on my walk, I was really thirsty, so I stopped in to get a tea. Their customer service was OUTSTANDING! It’s really hard to get good customer service these days! While I was there I couldn’t resist their FRESH BAKED pastries! I left with an apple scone and blueberry muffin! I ate part of the scone while trying to find my way back to our hotel and it was by FAR the BEST scone I’ve ever had! It was PERFECT! I highly recommend stopping in here! You will not be disappointed!!!

I’ve been to this place many times and every visit I am amazed at the baked goods and customer service. My all-time favorite is the coffee cake! Is it so flavorful. I also pair this slice of cake with a large White Tea Rose tea and I add rose flavoring. It is literally the best tea I’ve ever had! Not to mention, they are being very safe during this pandemic. The workers always have their masks on correctly. Overall, I love this place and I would recommend it to anyone and everyone!!

A gem. Found by accident. We encountered excellent service from owners and staff who seem to be passionate about their offering. They took the time to educate us on all they offer once they discovered we were first time customers. My wife loved the tea. I had the banana bread which was excellent. I also tried their turkey sandwich. Excellent. We plan on going back as there are more to explore from their menu. You are able to purchase teas to take home.

This is my favorite South Loop coffee stop. It's not the kind of place to go and sit, though they do have a few outdoor tables when the weather is nice, but their baked goods are phenomenal and everyone is so friendly. Their muffins are my favorite and they have a great selection of macaroons. Also, they make the best mocha! Super chocolate-y without being too sweet.

They have an amazing variety of tea. You have to wait a bit for them to brew then, but it's worth it. Their baked goods are great too. Today we had an apple scone, fresh out of the oven, and the coffee cake, which was amazing. It's not your typical coffee cake -- very fruity, light, with a nice nut topping. The folk who run it are friendly and take very good COVID precautions. I plan to come back to try their quiche and sandwiches.

  • Adam Rodriguez

This is such a great little spot. The decor is nice and it really takes full advantage of its smaller space without feeling clustered. The coffee was great, with a nice selection of different flavors. The pastries all looked fantastic and the blueberry muffin was on point - tart, sweet, and Fluffy all at the same time. Really looking forward to visiting again. Definitely worth checking out if you are in the area.

  • Ta'Sierra Johnson

It was a cute shop my only complaint is that I bought some loose tea to make at home and it was almost 30 bucks but didn't seem to be measured and just came in a paper bag that they put pastries in. For that price point it should have come in a container that will help keep it fresh not me having to find my own. They also only allow you to mix two teas and again for 30 bucks I feel like that isn't a good value.

  • Andy Steedly

I’ve been to this place before, the food and drinks are great and it is a lovely space. Please post signage on the door that it is not dog friendly inside. With the large side door open it appears as such, but the worker behind the counter raised her voice when I came in with the dog like I should have known otherwise. There is a hook outside on the tree to put your dog but it is out of view of the counter.

Was staying in the area for the weekend with friends, turns out finding breakfast is a bit tough around there. Glad we stopped as it was much better than anything we would have gotten at Dunkin.

The place is cute and adorable. The customer service is wonderful. The young lady was very patient with our questions. The gentleman prepared our warm turkey sandwiches to perfection. Really great place. Love the staff and I love the food. We had the mixed berry coffee cake and the lemon strudel muffin, both were so fresh and so good. The berry cake was perfectly cooked and more sour then sweet (exactly as is should be).

Great tea selection! The espresso roast was exceptional (something that very few shops can do consistently) and tasty snacks too. On top of that, they are really nice people!

Service was polite and fast. The only thing I would suggest is that they list the price of adding extra flavors to your coffee. Put again! Service was very polite and speedy. And most importantly, the coffee is great
