Teddington Library holds a special place in my heart as a cherished community resource. Here’s why: Pros: 1. Warm Atmosphere: From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted by a welcoming atmosphere. The staff is always friendly and ready to assist with any questions or book recommendations. 2. Diverse Collection: The library offers an extensive collection of books, magazines, and more. Whether you’re into fiction, non-fiction, or research materials, there’s something for everyone. 3. Children’s Delight: The library’s dedicated children’s section is fantastic. It’s a wonderful space for young readers to explore and discover new books. The regular storytelling sessions are a hit with kids. 4. Study Oasis: Teddington Library provides quiet study areas, making it an excellent spot for students and anyone seeking a peaceful place to work or read. 5. Summer Reading Challenge: The library’s Summer Reading Challenge is a fantastic initiative that encourages kids to read during the summer break. It’s a great way to foster a love for books and learning. 6. Book Borrowing: You can borrow around 30 books for 3 weeks, which is incredibly convenient. Even better, you can renew your books online or by phone, making it easy to extend your reading enjoyment. Cons: 1. Parking Challenge: One minor inconvenience is the limited nearby parking spaces. It can be a bit of a struggle to find parking, especially during busy times. In summary, Teddington Library is a true treasure in our community. It offers a warm ambiance, a diverse collection, and engaging activities for all ages. While parking can be tight at times, the library’s numerous strengths far outweigh any minor inconveniences. It’s a fantastic place for readers, learners, and families to connect and grow.
I love my local Teddington branch of the Richmond libraries. I use mostly this and Twickenham. The staff are always helpful and obliging in person or over the phone. I make reservations with ease and have also made purchasing suggestions which they have done. Libraries feel like such an under utilised resource compared to when I was a child when books shelves were crammed full. I love learning from books so I’m biased perhaps but we need to love books and teach the children to, too, so they can learn to amuse themselves and find new passions and interests without being spoon fed. #loveyourlibrary
The library is at the heart of the town, just a minute walk from the high street. It is small but compact. You will find a wide range of books there for both children and grown ups. The timing of the library is very suitable. It is open 7 days a week though time may vary. But it is open post the school hours and also some days it is open in the evening as well. The librarians are quite helpful. There are free roadside parking areas. So you need not to worry. However, it's located in the neighborhood so actually you can just walk down there.
I love Teddington Library! The staff are always friendly and there is a great selection across different genres. I have also used their online facility to renew and request with ease. The building itself is rather beautiful, and the garden is such a hidden sanctuary. I often find myself venturing to the library, not just to borrow, but also to read in the peaceful surroundings. They also occasionally hold exhibitions from local students and groups.
I came to the library with the hopes of working in a relatively quiet environment, which I thought was a general standard that was upheld in libraries. However, this unfortunately was not the case, as the staff were talking and laughing very loudly throughout the day, and people were answering their phone calls whilst staying indoors. Would not recommend coming here if you're looking for a quiet place to work/study.
Socially distanced PCs in a side room with plenty of natural light. Extremely helpful staff helped me with my rusty IT skills. Also it's a great facility for anyone needing quiet study space.
This library has always been excellent in choice of books and helpful staff. It also has a great sense of calm, which I've enjoyed visiting since I was a child
I love this library so much. The help of amazing and I genuinely feel warmth everytime I'm there. Well stacked and brimming with wealth of knowledge.
Terrible none of the computers works and when they do they crash and turn off, end up losing all your work and then internet don't even work
Not efficient with the space that they have. Also it can be very loud and cramped in the areas that are provide for you to read or work in.
Library is well stocked, staff is courteous. It is a good back-up for Internet and printing when I had problems with my home printer
