Beautiful terminal, impeccable service from all airline personnel that we encountered on our many, many JetBlue flights. Our flights have been delayed ( which does occasionally happen), and once we even almost boarded the wrong flight, but were helped by friendly staff. I've only ever had 2 negative experiences here. When coming back home from Chicago, an individual in the pick up zone tried to persuade me to get into an Uber with him. Very scary. Always be careful if traveling alone. Thankfully, I had someone coming to pick me up. I walked over to nearby security, and when he saw me heading to them, he hastily walked away. I voiced my concern to the security officer, who promptly put out an alert for the man. He offered for me to stay by him until my ride arrived, and I was so grateful to him. Secondly, I purchased breakfast from Piazza breakfast one morning while trying to catch an early flight. My waitress did not introduce herself, but her nametag said "Marie". I specifically ordered a Home Run meal, and she supposedly heard me say "home fries". Not only did she not repeat my order back to me to confirm, when she brought out the home fries, and I mentioned to her that I ordered the Home Run, she curtly told me that I had expressly stated "home fries" when I am 100% sure that I did not do so, as I was starving that morning and a small bowl of home fries just would not do before a long flight. Anyway, I guess I can attribute her poor customer service to the early hour, the fact that I had a mask on and maybe she misheard me, or that everyone has been stressed or overworked lately.
It’s difficult for me to give an unbiased review here. While this airport is nice and somewhat clean, it doesn’t get a 5 star from me. For being one of the biggest airports in a city that prides itself in the city that never sleeps, try to get a beer or glass of wine between the hours of midnight and 8am. That is absolutely ridiculous to me. Knowing that most people passing through here on a layover or are here early to catch a flight, why they would not allow you purchase beer or wine is astounding. It’s 5 o’clock somewhere right?! Absolutely crazy! If I would have known this, I would have bought additional beers and sat outside of TSA drinking them before the flight. After spending the last 36 hours in airports and on flights, all I want is an ice cold beer. The airport is okay for other things. Coffee, snacks, news, breakfast. But those are basic amenities. You really missed our New York, you could have one of the greatest airports in the world. Instead of just a mediocre one. Very disappointing!!
As TSA couldn’t make the random and line up process more complicated, people were skipping lines and trying to get there the maze like structure just to get through security. I was always disappointed that the TSA employees did not have cleaning supplies to wipe the damn metal table as people spilled liquid on the platform and I asked the guy but he just nod and ignored me and just tell me to put my bag through the glass and continue, same for the other people. I didn’t come to the airport to be sick or have my bag covered in liquid that is unsanitary. TSA you need to improve on your sanitation process in order to prevent people from getting sick or wet luggage’s in route to their travels. Disappointed.
The best terminal at JFK, followed closely by Terminal 4. NYC airports are generally considered terrible, and for good reason. But Terminal 5 is JetBlue’s pretty new terminal, with lots of cool places to eat, an outdoor terrace, and modern architecture. JetBlue, Aer Lingus, and a few other airlines use this terminal. The only problem with it is that the TSA at T5 is the absolute worst. This is not the terminal’s fault per se, and I have no idea why this is, but the TSA there is absolutely incompetent. It’s not like that at T4 or even the gloomy T8... so why at T5? Generally, though, flying through T5 is a step in the right direction, and is almost to the level of flying through a European hub. Almost.
Checking at times is a mess...specially if you flight is in the early Am times...I would like to have the option of using the kiosk or using the old fashion counter because kiosk if u have multiple family member traveling with you they can become a paint in butt...I have ask before to directly go to counter and they say no got to kiosk first and alway end up doing double lines because kiosk failed to check me in properly..and then to drop off bag is another line...I know a lot of airport are like that but here at terminal 5 this process just look like a complete mess..this just my experience traveling through here at least 7 times in the past 2 years and traveling with 3 family members..
My flight was cancelled due to the weather. That’s why you do not get hotel for free. Hotel prices start with 120$. I decided to spend the night at terminal 5. What to say.... That was just horrible... With their uncomfortable seats that you can see on the picture people just laying on the cold floor. And this is in the age when we have tesla and Elon Musk has Falcon heavy. Guys , go and learn to europian airports for example Frankfort Germany or even Warsaw Poland and learn how to treat your customers with cozy furniture. SHAME ON YOU!!!! Don’t even think to stay here over night. You’ll get sick afterwards
Plenty of places to wait for your flight I was there for 5 hours I have to be there early for my flight out of the u.s. to Puerto Rico and I enjoy the settings you can walk around you can go outside you can do many things in the airport to kill time and the boarding was easy the flight was smooth and when I got to my destination I was very surprised with a clean modern airport in San Juan Puerto Rico. JetBlue has there he was easy to get to the baggage claim he was easy to walk out of the airport and use EZ all the way around very clean very friendly.....
Compared to some of the other airports this place is somewhat still in the stone age, you have at least a 1/4 mile walk from the parking structure to the terminal. It's hit or miss if the walk-alator is working. It's a plain white corridor and no seats at all in case an elderly person cant make the walk and needs to rest. Outdated cardboard cutouts of people giving directions. Departure terminal rest room only has 1 stall! Thousands of people passing throughout there and only 1 stall!
I love airports such amazing places to ppl watch and this place does not disappoint. If you are looking to get steps in, to reach 10,000 you an walk up and down each corridor and around he middle areas 4 times and you are. Hallway are pretty wide and yo should not run into any problems. The bathrooms are well maintained. I recommend avoiding he ones by the middle food court area and go down to the ones by gate 1-7, they are typically always empty and clean. Safe travels!
This is a review of the baggage claim area and the walk from the airtrain. I thought terminal 4 was long, boy was I wrong! It took forever to get from the train to the terminal but they did have cute little balloons. The baggage terminal is pretty standard. Severely lacking in plugs, however! If you go straight across from where passengers exit near the welcome pods, there are several plugs in the floor! The Dunkin donuts here stays open late, five stars!!!!
Unexpected quite and well organised new Terminal into one of the most busy US airport on east coast! Good facilities and food court, where discovered even an Italian pasta shop: with 12$ you can have a freshly cooked pasta , with a choice of 5,different and same for the sauces (pesto recommended )! Wide and many brand new shops available, gives a different idea of the chaotic NYC; if you fly to Europe, the Irish ☘️ airline departs/arrives here.
At departure area , Less crowded during the late morning time . information desk at Jet Blue airline is very helpful as employee are informative and hospitable . Food court has verities of food and nice seating spaces . But It has less shops counter compare to other.... sufficient Toilet faculty . Free internet ( wifi) provided by jet blue airlines ...very visible information board for arrival and departure with location maps .
T5 is ok. My hated is for the f-ing HORRIBLE trek to get to the Uber/Lyft pick up point. It is a freaking LONG walk to get from the AirTrain into the actual T5 terminal itself, though there are some moving walkways. Take a good 15 minutes to get there and then the Uber driver has no idea where I was or where this pick up point was. This is reason enough to never fly through JFK off you need an Uber to get anywhere.
This terminal is important like other air terminal, it's significance is it has some bus stands. Air train available here 2 in every five minutes. But has some public bus too, like Q10, Q10 limited, Q3, B15. Those bus made this place an important transit both air and road. Airline here are Frontier, Allegiant, Jet Blue, some American Airline, Bus to American Eagle, Spirit, Hawaiian Air,Sun country.
Terminal 5 is big and it may seem like a walk from air train but the is relatively short and you're already inside the terminal basically. I'm picking up a friend and have not been down in arrivals, super spacious. Upstairs in departures, that's another story, packed packed. The weather is not the greatest today and I'm sure that plays a role. See the pics and video.
Grim loud and disorganised. Definitely the cheap seats terminal. Why would you put the kids’ play area in the middle of the waiting area? Parents can of course easily observe their kids but what about everyone else? The security staff are unfriendly and have serious issue organising people into lines. Food options are ok although there are few healthy options.
15 minutes from entering the terminal to the duty free?? Is this real? Well, it is. Jet blue took terminal 5 and made it to the best terminal in NYC. Enough staff to spare you the long lines. And clean terminal that you can't avoid wondering: why ain't all terminals are like that?? If you can choose. Choose terminal 5.
WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE AT THE GATES !!!! purchased for seats then they lost our seats and then gave us seats where me and husband weren’t even near each other. ALL RUDE like you are getting paid to do YOUR job so DO IT !!!! and i was always nice upfront till they gave the run around and were rude !!!!
Although the terminal is new and beautiful, it is too far for passengers walking from the AirTran station to T5 terminal. I'm a regular person and it took me 40 minutes to get the gate on a very normal day. Please consider some improvements. I do not travel with JetBlue if there is other option.
I wish there was more variety in the shopping here, even the restaurants. I’ve been here a few times so it feels like I know the place like the back of my hand at this stage. I do like that there’s free wifi and places to charge electronics. Famous Famiglia has really nice stromboli and pizza!!
I love a snowman just as much as the next kid at heart. JFK takes that love to the next level by making the terminal freezing cold, so that you can build your very own snowman with crushed ice from Starbucks. If you are a human being, bring three layers of jackets! Heck bring firewood as well!
Crowded terminal that houses Jet Blue. Stores were typical NY overpriced but OK in what they served. Seating areas had TVs displayed but none had any sound when I was there. Many announcements typical of a busy terminal that got rather annoying as they were loud. Cleanliness was just OK.
This is the Air India plane. This photo was taken from Google Earth. Since the aircraft stays there from early morning to 2:30 pm, it is visible in the satellite picture. I was there in January 2017, when I arrived from Orlando to take this Air India flight.
JetBlue in this airport is horrible, kiosks is not printing our tickets & checked in bags even if we paid already, then we have to wait a long line just to get the ticket printed and they also don’t have a CLEAR lanes available in this terminal.
Very open and clean. There's more than enough to to walk around without bumping into people. There's many places to grab some food. I was very impressed with their self-serve hot and cold bar. Oh, and absolutely no strings attached free WiFi.
Terminal 5 is all Jet Blue. There is a curb side checkin service for a few extra dollars (5$per bag if I'm right) if you want to get things done quickly and go straight to security checks. The entrance was a little confusing for some as it
The gates of hell. Last days of Kabul. Fall of Saigon. Fear. Anger. Panic. Mothers passing screaming kids over barriers. Violent shouting. Teeming hordes trying to get out of New York. Avoid at all costs.
My new preferred terminal. It belong to the jet blue airline, that designed it in a way that make you wonder if you are about to go on an airplane or on a spaceship. cool, clean and easy to navigate in.
Home of JetBlue Airline. A wheelchair accessible, clean, automatic airtrain station. Helpful employees are here to answer questions from lost/confused travelers. Connects to Terminal 5 (obviously).
Best terminal at JFK. Plenty of food options, which is great for layovers. It was very clean and well maintained, plus there’s a rooftop lounge area which is a great place to get some fresh air!
It is nicely organized and well managed. Route map and directions are mentioned very clearly for passengers. Even first time visitors would be able to get the direction without any help.
Poor customer facilities in Terminal 5 (Jet Blue Baggage Claim Area). Does this meet international standards for a "global" airport? Is this America or somewhere in the developing world.
Super busy!! Police just stand around and will not let you stop to pick up your family!!! And they don't control the traffic to help it follow!!! 30 mins to get into the terminal!!!
JetBlue dedicated terminal and one of the best I have seen in United States. Ample seating space, food options, free WiFi connectivity, power points, comfortable seats.
Newark international crush this dump. Mexico has better airports than this depressing place. Terrible restaurant's and bars. Stone age airport. They are so slow. Dump.
Really easy to get around. Flew JetBlue and the check in experience was flawless. Everything was automated, even the bag drop off. Hope to fly through here again!
It’s a international airport so of course it’s extremely packed especially with everyone traveling again but overall from TSA to the gate was smooth as can be
It's one of the best terminals that I've ever visited. There are so many food options and shopping while you wait to board your flight. I love flying JetBlue.
The coffee bar and in general the people are extremely rude. It's almost like they just intend to treat everyone as if they are just an inconvenience.
Massive lineups at security, and NO STAFF to work at the xrays. They KNOW how many people are flying, yet management continues to understaff secirity.
JFK is a big huge airport, very Nice safe airport and a lot of people fly to this airport. The workers is very proficient and extremely professional.
Two officers among 20 booths, alongside over 200 U.S. citizens patiently awaiting assistance at the Department of Homeland Security. Poor logistics?
I been comimg here to jfk T5 every year or 2 since I was kid its a great airport most times i had flight with no delays and very friendly staff
My ride to the airport was excellent. My driver was courteous & on time. This is my review and I am awarded $10 Carmel cash for sharing it.
Beautiful terminal in the highest regard, but traffic flow is horrendous, especially for what appears to be the busiest terminal in JFK.
This is jet blue terminal. Huge but hey hey have food to buy if you are starving. Many people waiting but it is too easy to get away.
All food service a s**t show. Rude, untrained servers with no managers in site. The food outlets are unsanitary...eat at home.
Easily the worst terminal at JFK. Half a mile walk from the air train to the checkin . Food options are terrible .
Overpriced, cheezy shopping mall in Queens. Very long walk to public transit. Pros: clean bathrooms, Muji store.
Terrible signage. Poor inter-terminal transport. This place is horrible. DO NOT connect from here if possible!
Great airport to go to different places in, some staff are rude though but it's a great airport overall.
Great airport to go to different places in, some staff are rude though but it's a great airport overall.
Airport always nice an clean. Golf cart ride through the airport exit is plus...keep up the God work!
My family and I were very happy for our first landing in JFK chiefly because of welcome and services
Positive experience in a terminal. Charging station, comfy seats and decent places to grab a bite.
As the construction continues at JFK T5 share ride accessibility is not ideal for the time being.
Nice terminal but you have minimal to zero options for vegans. It is 2019...get with the program.
It was pretty easy to get there just follow the sings of (5) whether is dispatcher or arrival!!
Lovely terminal, but the music reminds me of my 12-years old self watching camp rock all day
When it rains at the bus terminal there's no way for the water to drain in the bus shelters
All im just going to say, staff is really nice, helpful and kind. I love riding the plane
Well kept terminal building with adequate space, food court and duty free shops.
Very busy terminal. Security officers are professional and helpful …
Organized. Signs very descriptive. A little bit long but manageable.
Pick up and drop off may be an issue, it can get very crowded.
I love going to JFK. The airport is so beautiful.
Clean terminal, Thank you T5 management
Picked up a relative at Jet Blue …
No seating opportunities!!!
Very efficient. No stress.
