I would say it ok for any African Restaurant Place is big, or should i say huge More of pub setting. Though not family welcoming the chairs not built or set for children friendly environment. Has no quiet space full loud entertainment if you need quiet environment to enjoy your meal definitely not Thatched House. The staff need training in-terms of customers services. Rude and have attitudes. I have never reviewed staff’s behaviour but definitely unacceptable and unprofessional. A disappointment Toilets extremely filth . Smells like no regular cleaning done. Lack of seats as it is chaotic. Definitely not children friendly However the overall food experience was great.

I didn't come here for a meal so can't say anything about it. I came here for the night club experience. Same as previous visits. The music is good and the DJs are great. The crowd is always buzzing and maybe sometimes a little too crowded but it's great atmosphere. The only thing is the crowd is very diverse. The punters are usually from all over Africa so the DJs always try to play music to appeal to everyone no matter which African country they're from in addition to some western 90s music or other western oldies. So if you're looking for strictly afrobeats to groove to, Thatched house may not be the place for you. Other than that,it's great place to go night clubbing. There's parking on site until it's full then there's parking on nearby surroundings. I think entry is free till 12am. Gotta double check that one.

We traveled from Sheffield to celebrate a friend’s birthday in London. We chose Thatched house, BUT, As a Rastafarian, I was told to take off my hat or to leave. As a result of this, I had to leave as I wouldn’t take off my hat. I pleaded with the manager who was very rude and told me it was their policy. I then asked for my entry fee of 10£ and was told NO! The security guards in the place are all very rude unapologetically. I had to sit in the car whilst I waited for my friends who stayed inside to celebrate a friend’s birthday. This was highly upsetting and will never go back there again.

If you want to take a trip home to east africa, or just africa? Then go to Thatch house, what can I say as soon as I walked in I felt a sense of belonging, in grey gloomy england. This spot brings you colours, life, my people, of higher energy. Never lost in thatch house. We indulged in lovely food that reminded me of home, drinks priced reasonably Whice made a huge difference in this climate. Wow, and the music? we wasnt meant to stay so long, but we danced with our jackets on as we were leaving. I PRAY they stay as they are, what a gem in east london. Great service, friendly people, good vibes, come as you are and feel welcomed. Loved the security too very helpful, will definitely come again.
This is my local spot you know when it becomes like your own family.oub coz you've shared so much memories there. Didn't take pictures which l should've just of the food but they have had recent renovations which has made the place look even nicer,by day its a pub by night has a club tempo and gets you on your feet boogeying. The food they serve till into late hours of the evening boasts African cuisine and my favourite the tilapia fish which is grilled to perfection served with plantain and a side soup that just goes perfectly together. A spot that you need to experience both day time snd night time without a shadow of a doubt
A 9ce Place to catch up with friends after a Long week of work work work (Lol )..There is not no much space to Dance for people with their Dancing shoes on ready to Bubble , After 22:30 , It would be Ideal to Close the Snooker Board Area and Make that Space a (Dance Floor ) Ready for All the Dancing Queens and Kings Present ...Just my Thought ...

It was alright to be fair . It was busy with people at that time of the day . The customer service was good . In fact, one of the ladies, with all the pressure, was so calm and steady . As regards the food , i enjoyed the grilled meat, but I didn't like the sauce for the grilled fish. It was a bit too water, and i think the plantain was quite tiny . My favourite thing was the grilled meat and the two customer attendants that I met with .

I had been meaning to visit for a long time and finally got the chance last weekend. I haven't had nyama choma since visiting Kenya and Tanzania before covid, and had high expectations. Unfortunately the meat was very dry and tough. Ugali and other dishes were fine though. I would try other dishes if I go next time. Atmosphere was 100% great, feel like being in Africa everyone was friendly and footie was on the telly!

I think its the manager or assistant manager, he's quite obnoxious and pushed my friend and I out of the way in the bar ,disregarding the que ,I mean you could be a better host ,we only found out he worked there wgdb we saw behind the bar or it would've kicked off ,the tall man with dreads ,also constantly recording patrons without consent ,he should do better . But outside that, good vibe & music

Unprofessional & rude staff, service is bad - security guard asked friend to remove his turban - shows 0 awareness of other cultures. Also have to keep on chasing the staff up for your food order, a simple Chioma took 45 minutes to be served. Only come here for the music and drinks. Don't entertain the security, just comply and move forward they are a headache.

I ordered take away from these guys and the food was absolutely nasty.... I cannot believe the audacity of the manager telling me the food is fresh and that I'm mistaken.... How....? I'm here eating it and the food is absolutely trash... Absolutely overpriced not fresh food... Avoid... You want Kenyan food get it from Joe Gatonye or Nairobi Lounge.... These cowboys are failures
This was the second time I visited this place We came for the New Year's Eve this time. We had some great food, I loved the fried tilapia. The party was brilliant too, great music, nice atmosphere, everyone was friendly. Nobody bothered anyone. Really great, chilled place. I will certainly visit again

We went for a nite out but the service at the door was v unacceptable. The security guts were very rude and aggressive. We were compliant with the search but the their customer service was appalling to the point the the guy just said"Take back you entrance fee!".Appalling experience for us.

The place was dominated by Nigerians and few Kenyans though offering great food and African cuisine the workers couldn't be bothered less to serve you and the door man was the worst in attitude ever chasing away new guests at will.

The Thatched House Pub is a location for one to enjoy African (mostly Kenyan) food. I had some Nyama Choma and it was so good. The food was affordable and delicious. Will totally recommend to anyone who wants to hang with Africans and eat African food
Bought drinks in excess of 200£ & 50£ entrance fee however they expect you to stand at the Bar. Shocking unprofessional not that they know what professional means. Avoid. Sad and overall bad
