My review is about the unfortunate interaction mentioned below. To be fair, Jenna practices her skill well, I have no bad words to say about my hair, but I am very taken a-back by the treatment I received today. I had a pleasant experience with Jenna during our first appointment. I booked again recently and it was brought to my attention on the day of our scheduled appointment that I had mixed up the calendar dates - I honestly thought Feb 10th was Saturday which is a silly mistake I totally acknowledge that. I even confirmed the appointment when I received the reminder emails, I was completely lost. I'm a full time working mom (with an unusual schedule) of a 2 year old and a 4 year old and my weeks/days are a bit of a blur. But again, it's on me, it was an embarrassing mistake. As soon as it was brought to my attention I e-mailed Jenna apologizing profusely and explaining my error, explaining that I was actually at work and could not leave. I also expressed that I understood if a fee was charged but that I planned to re-book immediately and was very much looking forward to my appointment. Jenna replied requesting a hefty late-cancelation fee and listing out her next available appointments. I sent the money, as requested,. I did this out of respect because I'm a service-based business owner too. I understand the hard work than goes into it all, but I also understand that life happens - I have never charged my clients for a first time late cancellation, specially because they've always shown genuine remorse. presented a logical and honest explanation and confirmed they planned to continue with my services by rebooking asap. My customers' happiness and satisfaction in the long run is more important than the loss of the revenue from one appointment. I replied to her e-mail declining a new appointment and politely expressed my disappointment that she had reinforced this hefty late fee (the details of which are not listed on her website) and tried to further explain myself. Although I didn't agree with Jenna charging me, I honored her request and willingly sent her the funds. She could have taken my money and left it at that - my email was meant as a last attempt to save myself the money, and to provide honest constructive feedback at the very least. Instead of accepting my transfer and moving on, Jenna accepted my money and also replied with an unnecessary argumentative e-mail to tell me that she does show her clients understanding and that she, in fact, had pardoned a late cancelation that same morning for another client (rubbing it in that she was able to accept another client's reasons and not mine?). She ended the e-mail by saying that I lacked professional curtesy by not giving her more notice - Reminder: I genuinely thought Feb 10th was Saturday not Friday. I had written it in my planner. It was fully my mistake, but it was a first time human scheduling mistake that in my mind warranted more understanding. How would I have been able to provide her with more notice if I, myself, had no idea of the mistake until the day of? Although I can first hand understand the inconvenience and the frustration of a late cancelation, Jenna's combined decision of both taking my money and sending me an argumentative and condescending response was the true lack of professional curtesy. I'd also like to mention that her website indicates that if you are sick there is no late fee and it does not mention a deadline re: late cancelations in this case - I could have easily lied today but I chose to be honest, and I honestly expected a kinder and more understanding reaction. I was fully looking forward to booking again, I'm genuinely saddened by the way this played out. I have no doubt Jenna is a kind person, as am I. I'm pretty low maintenance, easy to get along with, and understanding, but this just really didn't sit well with me. I'll be taking my business elsewhere.
Jenna always does an amazing job! She has done just about every colour with me and always has fun with her work. She even managed to bring me from red to blonde, which is not the easiest - it took a few sessions but each time you could tell the difference and she made sure my hair didn’t die! She gets to know her clients and keeps in tune with what they like or what would suit them. If you ever don’t know what to do with your hair, you can definitely trust her to pick something that will look amazing. So happy for you and proud of you!
It was my first experience & Jeena did amazing haircut & styling for me ! Jeena cares about customer, listens carefully to customer's need. She is professional & great in her work ! She took all the measures for cleaning & sanitary issues . Cozy salon ! Just sit relax, & Jeena does awesome haircut ! I got super great compliments about my haircut from my family & friends & I really love what Jeena did for me ! I will be back for sure next time for new haircut ! I highly recommend Jeena !
I always feel welcomed, and during our current situation, I always feel safe. I like that it is Jenna’s personal space with no other employees or overlapping clients. The service is always great and Jenna does exactly what I request or offers recommendations; which, I am always pleased with. I have used her services when going from below the shoulder to pixie cut, trims, style change cuts, colour and fashion colour on long and short, and hairstyling for 2 weddings.
Jenna is a fantastic hair stylist, and her salon is private and welcoming. She clearly is a very educated hair stylist, and has an exceptional understanding of hair. You never feel rushed or pressured - it is always a relaxing and enjoyable experience. On top of everything else, Jenna plays great music, sells excellent products, and creates a beautiful overall ambiance where clients can feel cared for and comfortable. I would recommend her to anyone!
I have been seeing Jenna for a number of years and was thrilled when she opened The(hair)Space. She is an exceptional colourist who has guided me through many changes. Hair is always cut to suit my lifestyle and easy for me to maintain. Jenna is also just a lovely person who takes time to make you feel special. With COVID - her studio is perfect! It's a separate space that is welcoming, clean and safe.
Jenna is the best! She always takes the time to learn exactly what I want then does it perfectly. She never rushes and I always get the feeling that she takes everything I say seriously and makes me feel like the most special client. Im always so happy with her work! She does great mens cuts too. And I love the cozy and inviting atmosphere. I also love that you can easily book online- so convenient!
Jenna is my go to girl for hair! She’s an amazingly talented stylist who is so knowledgeable in her craft. Im always over the moon with my hair and leave feeling like a million dollars. Jenna is awesome. I love how she cuts my hair even when I don't know what I want. She's always up on the newest trends. She's super precise in her short cuts. It's super easy to book online too, for real, I'm useless and I can do it all by myself!
Jenna is fantastic at what she does, and is so friendly. She completely understood the "vision" I had for my hair and she executed it perfectly! It was such a nice experience, and I'm glad I have short hair so I can go back more often!
