This is a really great place. It's a total dive bar and you are either going to love it or hate it, there probably not much in-between. The inside is relatively small but still more than enough room plus there is room outside. They make good drink for very reasonable prices. It's just a good hang out spot. Are you going to compare it to the W bar or Ranch? Of course not. This place is what it is and it's comfortable in it's skin. Interesting characters? Yes, this is Austin. Do yourself a favor and drop by. If it's not your kind of place you can go back to your $15 cocktail bar.

I went there to day drink with my friend a couple of times for their cheap drinks. Friendly people all around. We ended up playing pool with other people and the bartender was also very nice. (My friend ended up drinking too much and blessed their floors with her stomach contents. Instead of getting kicked out though, everyone came to help. Very refreshing experience.)

This is a great bar. Everyone is very friendly. This is a great- true south Austin neighborhood place. They make you feel right at home-even if you're not a regular. I first discovered this bar about 4 years ago and have been there a few times since. It'll definitely be first on my list when I want to stay south for a night. .....still the best bar!

I don't typically review bars because a bar is a bar and will generally please some and disgust others... but I wanted to state that this place nails the dive bar vibe and has the cheap drink specials to go with it. Has pool tables and a good layout. If you have to try to be a dive bar, you will suck. This place isn't trying, it just is one.

The 04 Lounge rules. Their jukebox is delightful, the bartenders are super friendly, and on the rare occasion when their frozen drink machine is working, the Orange Whips are the best cure for a warm day. They're renovating the building next door, but be assured that they are still open for business. ALWAYS!

You know those movies where everyone looks at the dude walking into bar for the first time. Trying to tell if you are cool or not. Yeah that's this kind of place. If you cool you can come, if not you're gonna get some eye balls.lol it's cool tho it's Austin.

The 04 Lounge is no ordinary bar. It is the last bastion of booze and brotherhood where friends and neighbors routinely converge to stay connected. The friendly and attentive bar-staff are always serving some community comeraderie along with their libations.

Dirty and run-down. This is a dive bar that is a dive bar not for the sake of being cool in a counter culture sense. It's a dive bar that was made by years of bad management decisions. The crowd is somewhat rough and judgemental depending on when you go.

It's an okay place.. cheap drinks, and an interesting crowd goes there. Lots of drama. I'd give it another try, but overall average especially since the jukebox is sometimes a dollar per song and half the time no music is playing unless you pay for it.

Oh, the ‘04 Lounge. What’s not to love? There’s a microwave you can use to hear up burritos, hot pockets, what have you. The drinks are strong and the staff is legit. Take it to the patio for SoCo ambience.

I love this bar! The CORNDOG TRAILER in the parking lot is the "HOT DOG." I tricked the most dbeautiful girl in the world to fall in love with me here. The beer is cold and the atmosphere is delightful.

Dive bar thru N thru. Beer is the most sanitary drink you can get here. The bar staff have favorites but I'm not one of them. Be nice and don't ask twice at this bar.

It's okay because it's exactly that. Just ok. It will wet your whistle. Craft beers and premium liqueurs are kept to a minimal variety.
