If I could give a zero star result I would. I booked a 19 day China tour, covering experiences that I have always dreamt of visiting some day if ever I could make it happen. On top I had wished to travel alone for a extended time I have had the biggest life crisis this year and crawling through that I reward myself by booking this tour which had all the logistics covered and paid for the service. I requested a phone call to answer queries on visa requirements. That staff member advised there were 3 spots left of the tour and the local team are really good at their craft. Less than 90mins I bought and paid for the tour through the website. First return from the adventure people, "Payment Successful" . 2nd email titled "Congratulations! Your booking reference is TAP54537" 3rd email from the staff member I had been conversing with on the phone and helping me complete the booking. "Hey, great to see you manage to make your booking, please forward on passport details etc". So I purchase my main flights to HongKong as the tour begins in Beijing and ends in HK. 2 days later, I have an email from Staff member apologising I have not been accepted on the tour that albeit the website and himself said there was 3 spaces left there is not. That that is subject to the local teams confirmation and there is no way that I can join this tour. Bear in mind they took my money and still had it now for 2 days. That staff members attitude was sorry but just swap it out for the other China tour which is 7days shorter, more expensive and doesnt cover all the experiences that I spent my time and energy for. Offering options like "sure Thailand is nice this time of year" My bank holiday weekend I spent scrambling to resolve this, and admitting defeat - requested my full refund and left with my 1200 flights to Hong Kong, and all my personal arrangements for my work and family on idle. This was super emotional and stressful. I was really left with thousands in and completely miss lead to thinking I had an amazing tour experience waiting for me. Where as in fact I had some agency , the adventure people, taking my money, pumping me up and then days later rejecting me and offering other tours in different countries as If I can swap them out like pokemon cards. This was a complete disgrace and its wrong, I'm left with the suffering rather than leisure as advertised. **Response to CEO as I can't add a reply comment.** Your staff 100% did not state any chance or warning of the tour rejecting me at any point, in fact said the opposite that there were 3 places available. Picture attached of 3 emails, 2 automated and one from staff member, that doesnt included the phonecall with your staff unfortunatley. One small line "saying your inm touch with suppliers and will be in touch once sercured" buried in the large messaging saying CONGRATULATIONS and BOOKING INFO, MONEY PAYED SUCCESSFULL. Also your staff member DID contact me after that small line you mentioned and congratulated me and began the process asking for pictures of passport ... just like your line instructed if all was good to go. I have attached screenshot of emails, lets see if google allows this type of upload..

I really wanted to spend my summer holiday in Southern Europe in July when the weather was perfect for summer getaways so I booked the Southern Europe: Montenegro, Corfu & Medieval Fortresses - 8 Days trip with The Adventure People. I was there for 9 days and I have to honestly say that it was one of the best, if not the best organised trip that I have ever been on! Admittedly, the trip package was quite pricey because it only included the cost of hostels, breakfast, transportations and the tour CEO 's fees. Also, some hostels were not in their perfect conditions as they were quite filthy. So I still had to use my personal allowances for lunch, dinner and optional activities such as kayaking and boat tours. However, I did not feel that my money has gone into waste because of the people that I met during this trip. They were really friendly, funny and very easy to get along with and I have made indelible and unforgettable memories with them. Most of them were my kind of people so I felt at home throughout this trip. This proves that this organisation excels in organising the best customised trips for each customer by choosing the right kind of people to travel with. Also, the level of customer service and support that The Adventure People provided me with was exceptionally good, if not the best. I have to especially thank Tom Hamilton, my agent, for answering all of my incessant questions patiently even during the weekends and he was always there for me and went the extra mile to clarify my concerns about this trip until I arrived at my first destination of this tour. The unwavering support and assistance that he had given me truly showcases that this organisation highly values professionalism and caters to all of the customers' needs. I could go on this trip very smoothly, all thanks to Tom's help! I highly recommend everyone to book your tour with The Adventure People, as they will make sure you can explore your favourite destinations with the best people!

As a first time solo traveller I used The Adventure People. I had lots of questions which were answered in a telephone call, this call was very accommodating. I enquired about the flights because I had found them cheaper elsewhere, they were unable to lower the cost so I chose to purchase flights separately (this saved me about £300 - which as a student I really needed). I checked the flights I had purchased with The Adventure People to ensure they were the same flights they offered - they confirmed this. A day before I was due to travel by pure coincidence I found I couldn’t make it to my return flight because I was due to finish on an island and the flight was from the mainland. I spoke to The Adventure People and they confirmed this and I needed to change my flight. This cost me significantly due to the last minute change and the added flight needed to get back to the mainland. When I returned from my trip I contacted The Adventure People to express my concern and complaint that they had been the cause of my additional fees. The Adventure People confirmed this via email but refused to provide compensation for the additional fees I needed to pay for their mistake. The trip itself was organised by G Adventures (the tour group) was incredible, however, I will not be using The Adventure People again due to the mistake they made and their inability to rectify. I strongly recommend you look for alternatives before using this company!

Poor communication and lack of awareness; No point booking with this tour operator, just go direct with the actual company who carries out the tour e.g. G Adventures. If any problems arise TAP will request that you call the travel company who manages the actual trip directly even if you're abroad... which defeats the purpose of using a tour operator. Avoid. To reply to the below from TAP: I clarified the weather was out of your control and that wasn't the issue here so there's no point debating that. The main point was the communication which was poor and you clearly stated thats all the information you had because the tour operator (G Adv) didn't give you any more information - fine but answer this - Why did people on the tour within my group have the tour leaders number to contact him and inform him of the situation? So to state you didnt have the details but someone else on my tour did is really poor from you. How can a company like TAP not have a tour leaders number but a customer who signed up directly via G Adv did have it? Makes no sense for a company of your size. Further to that asking me to contact G Adv whilst I'm already at the destination is just stupid if you ask me. You provided absolutely zero service and I would have been better off booking directly.

Cannot say enough good things about the booking experience with The Adventure People. Charlotte who helped assist me was wonderful, giving me so many options, and stopping me from booking an trip that might not geo ahead! I would add that it is a little misleading to say departure guaranteed on all the trips if it isn't guaranteed, but your team are well equipped to deal with that and it didn't stop me booing with you. When I wanted to settle the balance, Olivia D did it in about 2 minutes, on a SUNDAY which is commitment and I literally had to do nothing on my end. Wonderful wonderful experience from start to end. Charlotte spent so much time with me on chat with the different options and trying to fit it into my schedule. Above and beyond service and she deserves a raise! I can't speak to the quality of the expedition as I have yet to embark on that journey, however its with a third party anyway so doesn't particularly reflect upon this group. 5 stars all round

I have given a lower review as I was disappointed in the information received after discussing booking flights and pre/post accommodation. I found flights online for significantly cheaper than the flights proposed after doing my own research. The agent was also unable to give further advice as to the fitness requirements of the trip and only pasted information from the online page which I and already read and is quite vague. It would have been helpful to been offered a range of flights available (I appreciate that not everyone will want to select a budget option) and agents should ideally be able to provide additional information about a trip if asked specific questions. In the end my question was answered when speaking to another agency. However it was helpful to receive information about who had already booked the tour and have an agency able to support flight booking on top of the tour.

Save your time and do not book with this company. I booked a trip to Peru, without knowing the situation at the moment. I spoke to the Adventure people who advised I should book my flights, pay the rest of my trip and see how the situation plans out. I decided to cancel instead of losing thousands of pounds, and they kept my whole deposit even though travel is advised against and the country is in a state of emergency. The offered me a lifetime voucher (which I will obviously never use) for part of the deposit. They are fully aware of the situation in Peru and are still taking bookings. Their website is also very misleading as it shows 100% guaranteed refunds, which I now know is not true.

I enquired about the Thailand tour costing £1700. I read the itinerary andbwas very impressed and couldn't wait to book. After reading further I found that 90% of the activities on the itinerary all have to be paid for extra. This is very misleading. Basically paying top price for staying in average hostels and cheap travel. I planned the same trip out myself and found it was around £600 cheaper. You should make it more clear in the itinerary what has to be paid for as extra

I'm currently rearranging my work diary so I can book my 2nd trip with The Adventure People. I've been dealing with Petra who saved me after I messed up planning my 1st trip last year. Petra has been very helpful supplying me with details and answering my questions while also being patient with my slow progress and a few plan changes. I've had no reason to fault the service I've had from The A/P, I would be very happy to recommend and would give more than 5 stars if I could.

Despite the efforts they have made to win your trust online, believe me this is a scam. I lost £573 and didn't get a single penny back. Where did this money go? I have no idea. Perhaps the CEO is enjoying it in his private villa in Spain. This is unethical Capitalism. If you would like to book with a trusted agency (few of such exist) then here are a few options: Weroad Gadventures IntrepidTravel Thank me later.

I would not recommend this company. I liaised with Rachael at The Adventure Company, Brixton. I gave her a clear brief with enough time to get me a quote. Although she listened, delivery and efficiency of information was very poor, often resulting in incomplete information given to me. This led to making a booking fall though at the very last minute. Much frustration and a waste of time.

Rich from the adventure people was fanastic. He helped me with my travel plans around Canada and travel back to the UK. His knowledge of the trips was excellent. The trips were amazing we visited the Rockies and Nova Scotia on 2 separate trips that were brilliant. I have already booked for next year and will continue to use them as they take care of everything.

I would highly recommend this company. We booked a very last minute trip after being let down by another company. Sam was absolutely fantastic , contacting the team on the ground in Costa Rica and organising everything in just a few hours. We were so beautifully communicated with by The Adventure People - and this despite our uncertainty regarding dates of travel and frequent requests for alternative tours. Another ‘it’s our policy’ company, had barely any experience except that a terminal illness meant we had to cancel our trip... a years notice on cancellation and only booked a week ago and refund declined. If that’s how they treat a sensitive situation like that I dread to think of there was an emergency during a trip. Book with caution

I was looking for a specific trip, like all of Egypt (overland), including a Nile cruise, followed by an overland trip to Jerusalem and then Jordan - Petra, Amman and the Dead Sea. All middle of the price range, perhaps the Nile cruise on a better level. What was offered was nothing like that, but perhaps I was not specific enough.

Booked my holiday to Vietnam and it was amazing they went the extra mile, booked trips all picked up from my hotel. One trip got cancelled due to heavy rain and when l moved to my next hotel the driver gave me a refund what l didn't expect l highly recommend a holiday with Adventure People. We had a really great experience- whenever I had questions I was able to speak to someone that was super happy to help and give me some extra information which was really appreciated. We also had such a lovely guide in Peru (Natali) who was super lovely and knowledgeable and overall made our experience.

Outstanding service. Were extremely helpful, pre-booking, post booking and even whilst I was there (there was a little mishap with my transfers) but Toby was extremely helpful and resolved the problem immediately. I couldn't recommended them more. I've even booked my second adventure with them.

Really disappointed at the age discrimination for your trips. Why the cut of point of 45 to 55 fir trips that 55 plus people may enjoy and be fit enough to take part in. When sent trips for older age group, not only were they more expensive but not as active.
