Love the newly renovated Barrel Tavern. From the front door to the rest rooms. No longer a dive bar, a much needed coat of paint, new tables, fresh clean floors and newly remodeled bathroom with Nouveau art, gave this space a nice open modern look. Sundays and Thursday's Kareoke is a smash hit, with very talented performers. Service was excellent! A very friendly bartender says," Hello, Im Kelly what can I get you? Keeping up with the large crowd that trickled in after 10pm, she works with a smile; once in a while her stride being interrupted by a handzy troll hanging at the end of the bar slurring his words. I asked who is that, to one of patrons... they said he was the new bar manager. Totally unnecessary touching, the male with the waxed up mustache ( photo of him playing pool included below.) kept touching the female bartender and leering at her like a creep, ew. I've heard other people mention he was drunk playing pool and throwing up his middle finger everywhere. Just thought I'd throw that in there. There is plenty Of parking, and I had fun. I recommend this place for Karaoke and a good spot to hang with friends.

What a fun place, we happened upon this bar while looking for live music, they were having a ta o truck that night so, of course we waited for that.. The GF had a margarita or 2 and swears they were really good from her memory.. I shot pool and ended up meeting a good handful of locals, all wonderful people and fun to shoot pool against.. there was fun and good people inside and out at this bar.. If/when I'm out this way, ill be back for sure . You can bring food in or eat what the guys are cooking out back.if you get there on the right day...

I had a really great time. The only reason I gave the barrel three stars is because when my friend ordered a non alcoholic drink for me because I was feeling to drunk and needed to slow down, the male bartender said he didn't have time to make it, and it was not very busy at the time either. The female bartender got it for me right away when I asked, but the male refused to make it. I thought that was both strange and inappropriate. Other than that everything was great.

When you get to this place, you'll hopefully see the Blonde bombshell (her name is Kellyann). She's easy on the eyes and will give you a candy with your drink. This, to me, was a nice gesture and personal touch. I also know she works at Universal Bar and Grill (another cool cozy spot). Go check out these spots, and definitely check out Kellyann with her "Suckaaa".... You'll know what I'm talking about when you get there

Wonderful ambience. Happy hour 5 to 8pm with drinks only 5.oo dollars. They are serving food in the back on the patio on Thursday and Fridays. They have great soul food on Fridays from 5 to 8pm. There is karaoke on Thursday and Sunday. There is a DJ on Friday nights . I recently visited there for the first time and had a nice time with friends. The help are very nice as well. I look forward to coming back again

So if you haven't been here in years you should check it out. It's been totally redone and doesn't smell like dirty mop water anymore! The bathroom was clean and pretty (at the the lady's was). Bartender was super friendly, large smoking patio in the back with Cornhole, cold drinks, good music. Has all the things you want from a local dive bar

People were unfriendly. (Harsh looks). I felt unwelcome. I suppose the "regulars" own this place.. We had one beer and left. Live music was way too loud! We couldn't hear each other and we're sitting at a very small table. We would love to return but things definitely need to change!

Went years ago. Same spot! New people! There were 2 bartenders… one was super cool but the other seemed like he needed a drink??? Maybe he was annoyed that we (ladies) were cool with the other bartender (that’s the vibe we got)!

This place is delightful. I needed some place to cut loose for cheap, and it didn't disappoint. $1.75 beers is almost unheard of in the city. My friends plan on coming back again soon. My bartender was great and so were the people in the bar.

A karaoke bar with pool table. Not a fancy one but ok. Encountered an obnoxious female from the crowd while playing pool with a few friends. She told my female friend to beat all the men, and her tone was hateful. She could have just said

Ah, The Barrel. One of the haunts of my youth; now reincarnated as one of the best taverns in all of Los Angeles. All of the elements are there. Good strong pours, swell music, happy customers. Three thumbs up. Recommended.

If you’re a dead head, Monday is the evening is the night to go. Small dive bar with hidden outdoor patio. Smoker friendly. Gods people god energy.

Just like old times, a year and a few months later newly remodeled (not a dive bar anymore)... The Barrel is back with our favorite bartender, and friend Kelly Ann. The only reason we came back.

1/21/23 1:50am... The white short old man manager trying to bill me for a drink I didn't ordered. How he handled was very rude and unprofessional. He acted like he was on speed. He needs to go.

Used to have a mild depression till I walked into this place. Might need a shot of penicillin though after sitting at the skeazy bar, disinfectant anyway. But at least the music was horrible.

They allow you to BYOFood which is kinda cool, in addition to working with different local food vendors or food trucks (at least on taco Tuesday). Pool and outdoor cornhole are a nice touch!

Your basic neighborhood dive bar. A housemate introduced me to the place when we lived nearby. I like it because the service is personable, and the locals who congregate there are friendly.

not bad just happened to be in the area, and stopped by for a drink took a awhile with checking on if one is vaccinated for covid-19, then to order your drink, getting better...

The remodel is amazing. Keeps the old cube but updated everything . Better selection of alcohol. Staff is amazing. Kellie Anne is the best. Highly recommend this establishment.

Fun karaoke place. It's small, but fun overall. This place will always have a special place in my heart. This is one of the places I met my boyfriend for a late night drink.

Great spot for karaoke and drink are reasonable. Plenty of free street parking. The staff was super nice and friendly. Karaoke DJ was fun, energetic and upbeat.

From what i can recall this place was fun. Apparently i karaoked last Thursday quite poorly. Either way, friendly staff, cold beer, good friends=great time.

Small bar from outside but they have a pool table and shuffle board and karaoke on some nights. The night we were their it was low keyed.

We went to do karaoke for a friend's birthday and it was a fun relaxed atmosphere. It's a dive but not too divey and reasonably priced.

Pretty okay little hole in the wall. Prices were reasonable and karaoke (Wednesday) was fun. I'd go back if the mood struck me.
