We had a very friendly welcome, when we went for breakfast, as we were early (10 am on a Saturday Morning) it was very quiet and relaxed, we ordered our traditional English breakfasts, and didn't have too long to wait, the coffee was hot and tasty, and the breakfast was more than I had expected, well cooked and presented. ( I really liked the sausages) and worth every penny of the reasonable prices. There is a good choice on the breakfast menu,(see website) as well as a bottomless prosecco breakfast . The place was begining to get busy around 12pm, as we were leaving. Every staff member we spoke to was friendly, overall a pleasant experience, we are aiming to meet there again next month.
I can't praise the staff enough. We came in as a group of 8 on Sunday for a birthday lunch & if I can be honest, we're a fussy bunch. People don't like [x] or won't eat [y] or what something cooked their way, etc; which makes going out for dinner a bit of a nightmare! However, both the lady behind the bar & the chef were on-point. We were listened to & everything was as requested. As a consequence, everyone to a person enjoyed their meals & desserts. Everyone also said they will definitely go back there soon separately, my wife & I included. Thanks to all the staff for a great few hours at your pub.

I really like this pub, it’s cosy with the fire on, it’s nicely decorated, great size with plenty of seats and I‘m looking forward to making it to a quiz night here at some point… Yesterday we ordered food, and it was a little disappointing that only a much smaller menu was available. Starters were limited so I chose the breaded mushrooms - big mistake! So incredibly over cooked with whatever was inside (oil/juice?) was like lava; when you eventually find a way through the baked on crust you’re likely to burn your lip/mouth/tongue. The hunters chicken was decent though and hearty. I skipped dessert but the ones I saw being delivered looked lovely.
Went for an early pint with a friend. The doombar that was served to me had not been pulled through the line previously so the sediment was very apparent in the glass when I told this to the barman he didn't seem all that bothered. Overall lovely place (looks wise) and the second drink and my pals was fine, didn't stop for food but the prices look very reasonable however as we was about to go and order a bin lorry came right up to the entrance and stunk to high heaven with that my appetite was gone. Maybe something should be said about the bin lorry being at end of carpark and they walk the bins a further.
Food is not good, dry and very bland. Not good service either. The lady behind the bar took my drink from me whilst she was shaking. She asked me to leave the premises because I was drinking with my older colleagues and was still asked to show ID even if I'm already in my 30s. I was always coming in for drinks in there for years and still got horrible treatment. I have concluded how rude the staff is and how were not going to this pub anymore. And because of this we found the White Lion with better service and great food choices! So I guess everything happens for a reason. BETTER NOT COME BACK HERE!
The food had to be returned as it was inedible, despite there being less than 10 customers in the pub at the time. I had to open maybe 10 small packs of mayonnaise (difficult to open) whereas tomato ketchup was available in a large bottle WHY? Then another customer sat no more than 10 feet from me shouting and screaming on his phone. The pub was empty at the time. This was not a good experience. I await your response and will not use the pub again until I hear from you. P.s I am/was a regular customer

I really love this pub. It has a great atmosphere & service to match. The staff are really lovely & make you feel so welcomed. I thoroughly enjoyed the Scampi, so fresh and succulent. The homemade tartare sauce was delicious & the portions are generous. My daughter had a vegetarian dish as well as a side dish of cauliflower cheese. I had a cheeky taste of her cauliflower cheese & it was scrumptious. We were served by the lovely Bobbi, super friendly & a pleasure to talk to. Highly recommend this super, family pub.
My steak was awful. I ordered the Rump steak and it had a huge bit of gristle through the middle of it. Surely this would've been seen before cooking as it was from one end to the other. You couldn't even cut the gristle with a steak knife! They offered myself a free dessert as an apology which obviously wasn't sufficient as I had just paid £13 for the gristle. After discussing this, they refunded the money back for the gristle.

Love this pub! Turned into a bit of a regular spot for us and we're always popping in Good selection of drinks, food is served Very quickly. Sunday roast is pretty decent and ample portion. Only 1 thing I wasn't a big fan of was the steaks - otherwise the food is good (the lasagna is amazing.. even the lentil vege one!) There were a few comments regarding the staff but personally never had any problems. The dining area has a family section. There is also outdoor dining but it's onto locksbottom highstreet
Brought my Mum here for a Sunday Lunch as we had been here before. Purchased some drinks first and then went to order Sunday Roast only to be told that they did not have any! Good customer service would have been to say when ordering drinks to ask if we would be eating and then advise the fact there weren't any roasts available. Was told that they had been really busy and sold out, didn't look that busy to me. Won't be coming here again!
Came for the new menu launch, food was spot on, and thank you for changing my partners steamed greens for peas! Service at bar and on the floor was Hiya, thank you for replying! We had the new shepherd's pie (I stuck to my usual burnt gammon), the shepherd's pie was amazing, full of flavour and generous in portion size! Also thank you to Matt for hunting down some brown sauce for us!

Nice evening with the wife and friends. Friendly staff helped us to pick out a lovely bottle of Merlot. Our friends joined us on a nice corner table and we had a very pleasant evening. Everyone in the pub was enjoying themselves, but no bad behaviour. A pub I would recommend for a night out and a nice bottle of red. Can't comment on the food but certainly a good choice available on the menu.
There's not much atmosphere. The cutlery and condiments on the table make it look like a slightly upmarket greasy spoon. Lots of light bulbs are missing as usual. The bar staff were very friendly though. I would never eat here as the menu is down to a low price rather than up to a good standard and I'm very fussy about my food where I eat out

Bar staff only serve customers within their reach,. They are oblivious to who's been waiting and who's just walked up to the bar,. They carelessly ignore customers who have been patiently waiting ahead of other who just walk right up. I know they don't require such academic skills to enroll for such job, so you can only blame bad management. Would avoid this pitt
This pub needs some attention - the paint is flaking off outside; I had to try out 3 chairs before finding one that felt safe or comfortable (and I'm not overweight), plus the chairs were dirty. Our G&Ts were brought to the table ready mixed with no option of choosing how much tonic we might like. However my burger tasted nice, but I would not rush to return.
The pub was immaculate and beautifully decorated for Christmas with gorgeous lights and a warm feeling. The service was spot on, friendly and fast. The food was absolutely tasty, it was very well presented and cooked/made perfectly! I could not believe the excellent value for money for what we got! I will most certainly be returning without a doubt.
T was phenomenal, food was lovely I was told it was cooked by a guy called Dan would recommend to anyone. Will definitely be here for my Christmas dinner.

Had a really nice meal with my wife and we were lucky to be able to take advantage of an Ember Inns offer. Cask ales were excellent as was the wine. Nice pub but yet again let down by the condition of the gents toilets. Just so tatty and mucky. No toilet paper in one cubicle plus paper on the floor as well, plus no soap. Not inspected enough.
The huts in the garden and the car park seems to be in eternal darkness, which is resulting in people parking in non-allocated bays and causing chaos in an already small car park. Under the canopy at the front, there is one heater that doesn’t work and when the heaters are working they stay on for a measly 5 minutes at a time.
Wonderful idea, staff asking the couple with 2 kids under 3 to sit in the family area. Good for them, even better for people like me who do not wish to have their pub lunch disturbed by fractious children. Wish more pubs would apply this policy. Staff were polite, food was good, beer properly kept, good value all round,
We visited on a very busy Sunday evening. We had booked a table, which was just as well, as the pub was full. The food was great, the service was great. Only one star was removed because I didn't see an internal step and came down it, jarring my back. If hazard tape had been there, I would have been fine.
I asked for my steak well done., when it arrived it was oozing blood. The waitress returned it to the kitchen, some time later it was brought out however when I cut into it it was still red with liquid blood and inedible.

Local pub with comfortable furniture, lighting, and large bar area, offering a vast variety of beers and wine. Garden area much improved. Ordered food, the menu looked OK, nothing special, but member of staff explained the food is all frozen and portion controlled, hence 3 stars what ashame

you need new steak knives! Steak was good and cooked well, but hard to cut through with old steak knives. The presentation is boring - all the elements on the plate but just tipped onto plate, boxes ticked - off to customer. Presentation is important

Nicely decorated pub, contemporary and clean. Toilets could do with an overhaul though they look tired and old. Food here has always been good and there's a good drinks selection with reasonable prices. Staff are usually pleasant and helpful.
Amazing menu and great prices too. Not your typical 'pub lunch'. Lots of menus to choose from (e.g. set menus, Sunday menu) so plenty of options - I was really spoilt for choice when ordering. Portions are generous and unfortunately I had

Very nice pub which ticks all the boxes, parking available, good inside and outside seating areas. Very efficient bar and food service and decent toilets (better than some).
Popped in having visited hospital and was pleasantly surprised. Nice clean pub with a good selection of drinks and food. I opted for burger and chips of which was lovely.
The staff are great and the food is excellent. Please go back to having children only in one area. Some of us don't want to hear babies crying all through our dinner
