I've been here a few times now since the reopening and here are a few takeaways... The Good- They spent a lot of time and money in redoing the interior and it looks fantastic. Very clean, well decorated, and the atmosphere is perfect for a sports bar. All the TV's they bought for the place are top notch. I look forward to seeing what they do with the lounge. The food is pretty good, although I'd say it's 10-15% too expensive. Not terribly priced for midtown Indy, though. I had their deluxe pizza and I thought it was very good. I would also recommend the chicken nachos. The kitchen has a tendency to get a little backed up when they're really busy, and you might be waiting a while, but not too bad. The servers/bartenders all seem to be friendly, but spread way too thin. The tap wall is AWESOME. Highly recommend trying it out, especially on Sunday where it's 25% off. Good stuff. The Bad- Service can be pretty hit and miss, especially when they're busy (like on gamedays). There will be increments of 10-15 minutes where nobody even stops by the table. I don't know if it's because they don't have enough people to cover the shift or not. These days it's hard to tell. I can't say the service is bad, though, because when it's good, it's really good. Earlier I mentioned all the new TV's they added, and they're great. However, all the awesome TV's in the world won't matter if you don't have someone who knows how to use the channel selector, and how to correctly disseminate the NFL/College games. I think the managers need training on how to properly set up which games go on which TV's PRIOR TO OPENING. You should never have the same game on two adjacent TV's. I know that you won't please everyone with whatever games you're airing, but having a diverse offering of games available is crucial in a top-notch sports bar. I'm sure they're paying a lot of money in cable bills, so they might as well get their money's worth and give the patrons what they want. Overall, I've enjoyed my times here. The drink/food specials are great (especially on Monday), the place looks amazing, and the staff is friendly. I think they still need to iron some things out (learning how to use the channel selector), but I'm glad to have them in the neighborhood, and I'll continue to frequent the joint.

We loved the former restaurant that was here, especially their food. We were optimistic today when we finally decided to swing into this place and try it out. I’m sad it wasn’t what we expected. It was seat yourself style seating, love that. We had a kid so we sat in the family dining area, and had the room to ourselves. Took a while for us to be seen, not a big deal. We weren’t in a hurry. The server was pleasant and kind and attentive. We ordered the chicken croquettes and the avocado egg rolls after reviewing the menu (and the $$$ for most items). And noticed there wasn’t a kids menu, or we weren’t given one. That’s when things kind of fell apart. The food took awhile despite the slowness. The egg rolls were… okay. The avocado was brown and mushy. And the fried wrapper it was in was soggy. We ate two of the five and that’s about all we could do. The chicken croquettes were disappointing. I could be wrong but after 20 years in the service industry, I’d bet that it’s canned chicken. And the sauce they all sat in made the bottoms weird and soggy. Anyway - the total bill was close to $40 after tip (25%). We’re having a hard time justifying the cost to experience. We read reviews too, so this surprised us. Anyway, that was our honest experience.

This has little to do with the servers. They busted their butt. we sat outside and had our baby with us. that helped me forget to ask how i wanted my burger cooked. the server and manager said they default to medium well if its not mentioned how to cook the beef. The food was terrible. 20 dollars a burger when the they shouldn't even cost 10. my wife had the seafood burger and I had the Tex Mex. we had the pretzel for the appetizer. the brioche bun was dry and seemed worse than a McDonald's bun. both burgers were flavorless. college dining courts are better. it was clearly all frozen food. the best part about the food were the fries. it's self serve beer. it seems nice at first but the machine is off. they said it charges you by the ounce but more like an ounce for every .75 you get. when it comes down to it, I want to go to a restaurant and get taken care of. we had to seat ourselves, get our own beer, food was atrocious, and it was ridiculously expensive. I miss Moe and Johnny's.

First time at The Bulldog; the atmosphere and self-serve taps were fantastic, but our waitress Andrea was incredibly disrespectful. She had an attitude from start to finish, and we initially brushed it off since we were just excited to try a new place. For context, we're in our 20s and expect the bare minimum when we go out to eat and only complain when something extreme happens. When we got our bill, she charged us for multiple add ons that we didn't ask for, and when we politely asked for one to be removed since it came with the item already, she dramatically said, "OH so you want me to take the 50 CENTS off your bill?" Then, she proceeded to audibly complain to a coworker about comping 50 cents off our bill (to fix her own mistake...) while making faces and rolling her eyes RIGHT next to our table. Andrea- if you're within 5 feet of a customer's table and there's nothing separating you two, please be mindful of your words. Hope to go back for the atmosphere but wow I really hope they hire more respectful staff.

Always thought this was just a college bar and was pretty skeptical of visiting.. I was pleasantly surprised with a chill crowd, lots of TVs to enjoy the games and of course the beer tap wall! Service was attentive and they were very informative as far as helping us understand the beer taps and how to get a good pour. On Tuesday at 7pm we had several tables to choose from, but it quickly filled up after that. We enjoyed half priced apps and super affordable beer buckets as well. The mushroom/onion burger was great. I could easily see myself coming back here to watch more games with family or friends. The laid back environment was ideal and the place was clean. Another added bonus for me was that they have a dining area with little to no TVs for a more typical restaurant experience and seems they also have outdoor seating when the weather permits. Bar, tall table, restaurant seating and a pool table. Check this place out!

Beer selection is out of this world! I like all beers.. I've never seen a porter/stout selection like they have here. The best Potter I've had and a dunk contest that is worth talking about made it a night to remeber. You have to do the wristband!! I won't spoil it for those that haven't been, but it makes drinking fun, an experience, a something to do and enjoy. Food was great, nothing to write home about, but i definitely enjoyed the food. Lots of Tvs!!! Their layout... Im not crazy about... But i really appreciate they went for an outstanding bar at the price of a perfect venue. There is a spot, and are some spots that just don't make you feel as "in" as their bar does. Better stated, there are "bad" seats; but with that type of downside also means you get "GREAT" seats too. If you're a Butler alum... Cmon now!! Gotta support.

Went here with a few friends I hadn't seen in awhile from Indy. Just picked this place at random, not super busy for a Friday night. Had a lot of vegetarian options so that was good. I ordered one of the pizzas while my friends ordered other items. Shortly before my friends got their food, the waitress said they gave my pizza to the wrong table and they were getting mine out ASAP. My friends got their food and my pizza came out about 15 min later when my friends were about finished with their meal. To boot, the pizza was obviously undercooked and not very appetizing because of that. Was never offered anything else like an appetizer while I wait or any compensation. Can't say I'll be back or would recommend to anyone based on my experience.

We have been to The Bulldog a couple of times, and it’s been a good experience with the beer wall and the sports, etc. But then we discovered the hidden gem in the back, The English. It’s a really nice room, with a great feel to it. The craft cocktails are wonderful. The atmosphere is peaceful and adult, the televisions show old, black-and-white movies, there’s a large bourbon selection, tequilas etc, you name it it’s there. We had a charcuterie board, followed by ahi tuna, and some flatbreads, everything was delicious And the bar staff, oh my goodness, Saara and Heather, delightful Saara is English, she’s wonderful. Her sense of humor is amazing, she is a joy We spent hours chatting at the bar This is definitely going to be a regular haunt for us

Yikes. If you were expecting anything even close to Moe and Johnny's you will find yourself highly disappointed. Upon entering, we had requested a take out order, and we were rudely met with a "we don't do takeout here." We are still in a time where some people are being cautious about how many people they are exposed to, and not offering takeout is a big let down. As far as the food goes, I have been dreaming out the Moe and Johnny's beer cheese dip, I was expecting to be in beer cheese heaven, only to find out it was just a glorified nacho cheese sauce. We ordered cheese curds for 9 dollars and received barely cooked, careless bits of cheese loaded with grease. This restaurant has much work to do. Very sad our community lost a great joint to be replaced with this excuse of a restaurant.

This was our favorite stop after Pacer games last year. We stopped by last week to do some recon before the season starts. One question...what happened? The menu changed for the worst. Servers all smell like they were enjoying a cig on the way to our table. Everyone is touching the rim of glasses. Dude had his palm over the top of my drink. He delivered our food with his thumb stuck in the plate. I pointed at his thumb and asked, "Are we paying extra for that?". He chuckled and went back to cleaning. No service etiquette, no vibe, random overpriced food.

I've gone around 4 times now. The bartenders are usually pretty attentive! The self pour beer/wine wall is pretty cool. They just got a new menu and it's kind of ruined the experience for me. Prices seem higher, the menu has random things on it, and the food is alright. It also just doesn't fit the sports bar theme. There is no more food specials anymore just drink specials. I tried the avocado egg rolls and it tasted like fried avocado with a too thick of a sauce that did not compliment the flavor. In my opinion anyway.

They are open again!! Let’s keep it this way! They are in week 3 of the reopening. Let’s be patient as they get into a groove. They have repainted and it looks really nice inside. They have over 40 self pour taps. You pay by the ounce and each beer is priced. Lots of local beers too. You can also just order from the bar or a server. They are working toward a late night and brunch menu. We need to get people in there to help things to improve and get it back to the place we have loved and missed these past few years! Check them out and try to be patient! It’s a new era!

  • Kerwin Masten

Got the breaded tenderloin, the cheese curds, and the burger from the doggy menu. Everything was delicious. The beer wall is lots of fun and tried different ones since it is by the ounce. Staff was attentive and made sure we were well taken care of. Doggies both enjoyed their burger and have been impatiently waiting on something else to open in this location. FYI - the sports bar inside looks awesome. Plenty of TVs and definitely a must for folks wanting to watch a game, grab some good brews (or ciders, sours, wines) and hang with friends.

  • Whitney Wampler

We have been coming here since it reopened. The food and service were both very good. The menu changed in the last few months and it was absolutely disgusting. The service was terrible; really it was nonexistent. The business model for food and service has moved to beer and a self-serve wall. This model is only reasonable if I am not required to tip because I never see my server.

We hosted a private event in the Speakeasy room and had a phenomenal experience. The team was so friendly, accommodating and responsive for our group. The speakeasy room and adjacent patio were perfect for our group. Food was great and the bar staff was exceptional. I would highly recommend Bulldog for a private event as well as stopping in for a beer/meal.

I’m so excited this place is back open due to the great location- but it’s even better than before! The food is amazing- like legit, SO good. I love the tap wall and being able to try a couple beers before making my selection. The new decor is refreshing. Our server Michelle was so sweet and super attentive despite all the newness. We will definitely be coming back! So glad to have this flagship back in the neighborhood!!!

  • L Wampler

My wife and I are thrilled the Bulldog opened. We had our first date at Moe and Johnny's and we were not disappointed in the Bulldog. We had a wonderful Sunday afternoon!! The fried mushrooms were cooked perfectly and the wings and sauces were great! The food options aren't the same anymore, but honestly the new options are better... No disrespect to the old standbys. Our waiter was brand new but kind and attentive.

  • Andrew Weflen (awef)

Visited before a butler game with the family…great food and service! The only thing holding back a 5 star review is the sappy country music that continued to be played which was a total buzzkill. I logged into the TouchTunes jukebox to change it to some alt rock, with drew an applause, but didn’t want to continue paying extra. As a ticket holder, we will be back if there is less country played!

  • Shawn Hayes

This place is delicious. 2nd time here and it’s even better our 2nd visit. Wedge salad is the best I’ve ever had and a meal within itself. Burgers are delicious as well as the brisket grilled cheese. They even have a menu for your dog if you are doing outdoor sitting. Diamond was our server and she is awesome. So friendly and took great care of us. We will be back.

  • Meagan

We stopped in here the other day on our way home and had a blast! They’ve got every beer on tap you could think of and the bully nachos with pulled pork added to them was delicious! Diamond took such good care of us and she is HILARIOUS. It definitely makes a difference when you can tell your server loves what they do :) thanks for the awesome memories!

The experience is great but this is the third time I've been to the Bulldog for food and its been lackluster. Service has been good and the beer wall is great but the food is not good. I ordered the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich and it was a frozen patty.

The place hasn’t even opened yet but apparently the site is letting people rate it anyway. I’m just swooping in with a good rating to make sure people give it a fair try. As it stands I can see through the window that they redid the interior. It looks very nice. I also like that they named (or rather renamed) the place the Bulldog.

  • Mike Colpetzer

Great atmosphere. Great service. Great beer selection. Great food options on the menu. I had jumbo bone in wings, they taste and looked like they were deep fried, then frozen and reheated on the flat-top, they were dry and I did not like them. I will go back again to drink more and eat something other than wings.

  • Lisa Rayhons

Great atmosphere. So good to have neighborhood pub back open. Friendly staff, getting better every time I go back. Self serve beer is wonderful; so many options allows for small tastings, regular pints, social interaction with other patrons. Good pub appetizers; have not tried much food yet.

  • Jonathon Zubak (jzubz)

Andrea took great care of my mom and I. We really enjoyed what has turned out to be probably one of the last nice Fall weekends in Indy on the front patio. This was also our first time back at the Bulldog since it’s revival. They did a great job with the updates as well. Come check it out!

  • Domina X

The brisket grilled cheese was so yum! It was on sourdough bread with crusted Parmesan. We got the pizza for an app and we were amazed by how good it was. I think it was called the redline ! My friend tried wings and said they were top notch. Also our server was wonderful. Definitely go!

You know, this place surprised me. We ate outside on the patio, our server was extremely attentive, and the grub was really good. Being so close to Butler campus was a bonus. This is worth the visit the next time you come for a Butler event or simply on a sunny Saturday afternoon!

  • Nicole Bozena

Food and drinks are alight but I've been twice and the service wasn't very good. Seemed like the staff didn't care to check in and see if we needed anything. We would have wanted to enjoy another drink and watch the game but no one came back to the table to ask for way too long.

  • Brandy Murphy

Food was alright but our service was awful. I may give it a try again in hopes to get a new server. But the music & tv’s were so loud we couldn’t even talk. But our server made it a point to say even on our way out that, if your food wasn’t good, please still leave me a review.

  • John Sweezy

The Bulldog is absolutely a staple of Broadripple. I have yet to try something on this menu I didn't like. The wings both bone in and out are great. Live music available in outside dining area. Staff is really cool and that just adds to the overall atmosphere here.

  • Casey Szink

Overall not bad. Nothing spectacular about the experience or food. Live music was cool and burger was massive. Kinda wish the prices would be a little less considering all the sides are frozen bag food. Not upset that I went, but not really aiming to go back.

  • Ellen Griest

We can't wait to return to the Bulldog! 8:30pm: both their hostess and front house manager Paul hustled to seat us outside at our request & the kitchen staff turned our orders around super fast. Highly recommend the grilled veggie Smash Burger!! Delish!!

Great atmosphere, food, and service. The remodel is very nice. Glad it has reopened better than ever. The Bulldog has been missed. Welcome back!

Unimpressive. Mediocre food. Our server was very nice and attentive. The space is refreshed but a bit generic. Beer wall is cool.

Very good service and very friendly service. When they want you to leave, they have the employees play some music to throw up to.
