Not sure where to start. I chose not to mar our meal spending time giving mgmt the 411, but unfortunately there were several misses. First of all, my steak was 10 degrees over temp. Med rare came barely pink with a solid gray ring. Nope... that's wrong. Also, the serving staff needs some education on the basics of proper wine service. From snapping a perfectly fine cork in half because they didn't put the screw in all the way, to literally flipping the full bottle 180 degrees upside down as if it were a can of motor oil to drain it into the decanter (thereby thoroughly mixing up any sediment back into the wine) it just was not handled well at all. By the way, blaming the cork is in fact implying that my wine cellar and thus me are in the wrong, which just isn't a polite thing to be doing, even if it were to be true. I don't mind paying a corkage fee to bring a good bottle, but not for amateur hour. Some other menu details that could be improved to make the experience better: if you are serving an appetizer to a two-top, five bites is a weird number because there's the awkward "who gets the last one" moment. Serving four or six would be more comfortable. The apps menu could use a couple more options for variety and there didn't seem to be much in the way of the obvious sides like a green vegetable or whatever that we could see. In my mind I wanted this place to be on par with something like El Gaucho, John Howie, etc (none of whom do lunch anymore) but it just... wasn't.

Most fine dining restaurants think they offer great service, and some come close. The Capital Grill actually does it. The four of us arrived without a reservation early on a Friday evening, and they seated us instantly and cheerfully. They graciously accommodated my mom, who was using a wheelchair. Our drinks were delicious. The steak and seafood dishes were perfect. A truly fine restaurant delivers all the entrees simultaneously, even if it takes a team, and that's exactly what they did. Throughout the meal our conversation was never interrupted, and water glasses seemed to be refilled by magic. And a rare thing happened - they waited until *everyone* had finished eating before they offered to take the empty plates all at once - a mark of service distinction. See if your aspiring upscale restaurant does that. It was an expensive dinner, but so memorable. It's so nice to have a special treat like that occasionally. Well played, Capital Grill.

Easy entrance door, no steps. One small bump to enter the accessible restroom, but manageable.
I made a reservation through the website two weeks ago and wrote specifically how I wanted to surprise my "friend" on that special night for us. I wanted to ask her to be my girlfriend so asked for a written note with the dessert and also some rose's petals on the table. My friend and I showed up on time, when they took us to our table, everything was so nice looking, she was very surprised. Then when she went to the ladies room, the waitress double checked with me about the note (which was very prudent from her waiting for my friend not to be there so she could ask about the surprise). Then when it was dessert time, I thought we would have to actually order the dessert so they could bring the note with it but no, they just brought it with a note and a rose as well. I was so very happy and excited, my friend got all shy, blushed and also very happy, she loved the surprise and said YES ❤️. I highly recommend this place, it was the best service I ever had, food was delicious, waitresses were very nice and kind. We will definitely come back. I haven't been so happy and satisfied for paying well worthed money like that. WE LOVED EVERYTHING. Thank you so very much for such a unique experience.

Food - great. Service - great. Atmosphere - great. Well, for fine dining, they're a bit relaxed when it comes to the dress code. This is a good thing - imagine if they turned away an infamously casual dressed Adam Sandler. While men can't wear a muscle shirt and no one can wear obvious athletic clothing (sorry ladies, no gym leggings), they're pretty forgiving otherwise. Started out with bread (complimentary), cocktails (espresso martini and a mojito), split the fresh oysters on the half shell, and the mixed spring greens salad. Moved on to the mains - pan seared sea bass, and the chef suggested sliced filet mignon. Folks, bring your appetites - the portions aren't skimpy and everything tastes great. My one suggestion is to take wine suggestions from your server - they know the menu and the flavors, so just tell them your preferences, and then let them work their magic. The service is friendly, professional, and matches the ambience of the location and quality of the food. Special occasion or not, give this establishment a visit when in town.

Early birthday dinner last month, was absolutely more than I expected at The Capital Grille! When I was taken to my table because I came a little early. They had table decor for my birthday and a birthday card. The waitress was super nice!! Love the fresh different variety of warm bread they serve, there's one with raisins in it, uh-Amazing! Never tasted a good bread like that before. We had ordered mojitos which was complimentary as well as our prawn with tomatoes appetizer, it was so delicious! Our chowder soup was perfect & our salmon mozzarella with bruschetta was super savory and yummy. My salad was so yummy! When it came to dessert we were too full but the waitress brought complimentary desert cheesecake & chocolate cake, to die for! By the way our dessert & champagne was complimentary as well for my birthday. I loved the entire experience at The Capital Grille. Of course if you want a good steak or seafood, sometimes they have specials on halibut or another dish, this is the place to come. I just love it and know many more will love the fine wine and dine at The Capital Grille. Be sure to bring a whole lot of money it is pricey but that comes with the reputation and excellent service all around
Starting with the positives, I must say the presentation and ambiance of the restaurant were fantastic. As a New Yorker who appreciates simplicity, I really enjoyed the vibe they created. The service was impeccable as well. However, I was quite disappointed with the food. The porcini rubbed bone-in ribeye steak felt overpriced and lacked the expected quality. The lobster mac and cheese was excessively salty and didn't satisfy my taste buds. On the other hand, the cocktails were enjoyable, and the complimentary dessert was a nice touch. The lobster and dungeness crab cakes were one of the highlights of the meal. In comparison to other high-end restaurants in Seattle, I believe there are better options with superior food quality. If this represents the best the city has to offer, I'd prefer to spend less and experience better dining elsewhere.

I wish I had the same experience as most of the other reviews posted here. Atmosphere is outstanding. We were greeted at the door by cheery hosts and had high hopes. We waited at the bar for less than 10 minutes to be seated. The bartender was awesome!!! Onto the table experience, the chowder was excellent, quite tasty and full of clams. The steak au poivre was cooked perfectly with a lovely sauce, but the amount of peppercorns pressed on top of the steak overpowered the flavor of the steak. Drinks were fabulous (and fabulously overpriced). Our waiter was not on point, was absent frequently when needed and we pined for the attention that the tables around us were receiving. Management made good on this so kudos to them, but we shouldn't have had to bring the poor service to management's attention. Maybe our server had a bad day. I would still recommend as the food was excellent, but would hope that next time the service matched everything else.

I'm very late at getting this done. We got off of a cruise and had a whole day in Seattle and my granddaughter just wanted the best filet mignon in the city so we went straight to Capital Grille. It was her first time here and she loved it. But I have to say Not only was all of the food wonderful but the service was impeccable. Christopher our waiter asked us if we had a time frame we said yes and it was very tight. We ordered appetizer and dinner and we shared it but we had to get it done quickly. He made everything happen perfectly and the food was amazing. We also ordered dessert to go as we had to head out and get our luggage to meet the plane after taking the Metro train. Again if it wasn't for Christopher we would never have made it and we made it with a few minutes to spare all the way around. Thank you again Christopher and I hope I can return one day.

From hand crafted cocktails, hot bread assortment, delectable appetizers, and in house cut steaks...everything is delicious. I cannot recommend enough the Kona rubbed NY Strip Strip with Shallot Butter Sauce, soooo good! Can't wait to visit again!

Celebrated anniversary here and got the sweet message, flower and dessert! Tuna tartare was my favourite, fresh fish with avocado is unbeatable. Sea bass was amazing as well. I am not a Mac and cheese person but the lobster Mac N Cheese is a must-try (we ordered too much so we got to try it the next day, still very delicious!) my hubby likes the beacon with Korean bbq sauce the most. Alcohol wise I love the stoli doli the special house made drink with the pineapple flavor while mule was so-so, to sour than sweet …

What an amazing experience, from the moment we arrived it was 5 STARS!! Probably the best dining experience I have had in any steakhouse, from spot on recommendations to the perfect martini to the amazing wines that were paired with our food. The crab cake was cooked perfectly, the Ahi Tuna and my Tenderloin were perfect as well. Andy our server was again probably the best server I have ever had! I have dined at the majority of the steakhouses in Seattle and the Capital Grille is easily my new favorite!

This place is so, so busy and I went during the week so you probably need to come early or make a res for a weekend night or with a group. But I loved all of the food I had! The field green salad, I had with the citrus vinaigrette, I came two nights and a row for. So refreshing! The sea bass and asparagus was also so good, as was the steak filet, no notes! The spinach was good; I ate the full size by myself. The drinks were strong and taste like alcohol. Not a complaint but my server did clarify they don’t add additional sweeteners, which I like. It may sound silly but the star of the show for me was the pumpernickel bread! I probably had 6 slices over 2 nights and I’d eat more right now.
The service was spectacular, from the greeters to our servers. The food did not disappoint! I had the lobster and Dungeness crab cakes, listen…. They could have been an entree as they were top 3 for the best crab cakes I’ve ever had. I also ordered the lobster Mac n cheese and spinach as the sides.. both were good. I also ordered the Sea Bass. Cooked to perfection! Overall, my experience dining here was great.

What a dining experience! Firstly I'd like to mention our waiter, Jake. He provided phenomenal service and people could learn from him! The food was outstanding. The NY strip was a clear winner but everything we tried was a hit from steak, to drinks and dessert! Sure it's expensive but you already know that going in. My husband and I found ourselves in Capital Grill tonight, on Thanksgiving at 9:30pm after other plans fell through and we had an incredible experience! We sat at the bar and were lucky enough to be served by one of the best bartenders around. He was happy, attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. We never felt rushed or made to feel like we were a burden for being there so late. The food was outstanding and cooked to perfection. We live 2 blocks away and will definitely be back soon!

We celebrated our 11 year anniversary here today and it was honestly the best restaurant experience we have every encountered. Our waiter was the kindest person we’ve ever met. The food was phenomenal. And the drinks weren’t all watered down like most places do. The ambience of the restaurant was romantic and we couldn’t have been happier. We honestly may make this our anniversary spot every year. Thank you 100 times. Tonight was perfect :)

Sadly we wanted to have one last great meal before leaving Seattle. However the reservations were not needed, dress was whatever, miss behaving children over cooked entree poor culinary workmanship. The good news is that the service we received from Omar Cruz Giles reminded me of the quality of pride in service that I knew as a young man. He was the bright light in a otherwise dark room. I know that times are tough and filling the seats is job one but five star restaurant requires five star food!
Dinner for my birthday. Wanted a great steak. Steaks..rib eye delicious...had the pear gorganzola salad, tried the Kona Expresso martini. Everything is ala carte...so ordered the au gratin potatos..and Brussel sprouts. Everything was delicious. Alexis was our server and she was wonderful... at the end i was stuffed and the the restaurant served me a happy birthday deseert..small cheese cake and flourless choc cake with berries. How wonderful. So glad we had dinner here.
Excellent service, food, and drinks. The ambiance was great. Would be perfect for a nice dinner, date, or celebration. We had the ribeye, lamb chops, and crab cocktail. The ribeye was good but a little fatty for my taste, not the good marbling fatty but big chewy fat. The lamb chops were absolutely perfect and cooked exactly how I requested. The crab cocktail was my absolute favorite, it was incredibly fresh, the best part of the crab, and wonderfully flavorful.

The place is slightly dated in terms of decor. The service was great. The menu lacked innovation. The calamari was just a pile of fried “stuff” piled onto a plate and served. It was soggy, and lacked flavour which they tried to compensate for with lots of banana peppers. The steaks were okay and not cooked to order. All in all, I wouldn’t go back. I wasn’t happy and the price was definitely not what they should be charging.

Wife’s Birthday. Good steak dinner. Very happy with my steak cooked as ordered. Wife steak was ordered medium and delivered well done. You would think you go to a steak house that specializes in steak wouldn’t over cook it. Under cook and cook more if customer requests. Very Nice dessert offered for birthday.
