There is one staff member at this Chopped Leaf location that always seems to be in the WORST mood ever. She has dark hair with blonde streaks. She honestly needs to get out of customer service, because she seems to absolutely hate her life working there. I would have let this slide and chalked it up to a "bad day" if it was one time, but this has happened every time my friends and I have been there (5+ visits). Here are the facts: 1) When the AB government switched to QR codes, she stated she did not have a QR reader (even though its free from the app store?). She literally would NOT accept our QR codes and was insisting to see outdated proof of vaccine. This was not following current government protocols and she was extremely rude when asking. 2) Went to grab a meal after the gym at 4:10pm, before even reaching the till she shouted "we don't have any protein right now, the ovens are all turned off". I was shocked, looked at my phone to check the time, she stated they were closing at 5pm... When I informed her of the time she quickly used the excuse "sometimes we close early when its not busy". Who knows how early she "decided" to turn off the ovens. This is extremely unprofessional. 3) When ordering my tried and true, the spicy chicken sandwich, I was asked if I wanted ranch on the side (which it comes with) and then charged for the side of ranch. The next time they asked me this, I said "yeah, it comes with it right?", and she SNAPPED back "yeah, I'm just asking if you want it though" ??? 4) A customer in front of us in line was asking for a spoon and she was trying to charge her for it. When this customer went to pay with a card she said she couldn't cause the price was too low, so she made her buy a drink... I know this might be store policy, but she is just so rude about everything. Also, it was just a spoon... 5) Listen, I am by no means an anti-masker, but last week the University made masks recommended NOT required. My friend and I walk up with no masks on, because we just finished working out and were winded lol. We just barely get in line and she yells "do you ladies have masks?", which I don't even think she is allowed to ask since masks aren't currently mandatory. I honestly think she did this just to feed her superiority complex... Anyway, TL;DR this staff member needs a reality check and to have some compassion and patience with the students and staff at the University. The service is so poor and feels borderline confrontational that we restrain from visiting most times. I would like to add, that at our most recent visit there was an incredibly kind young man (shaggy light-coloured hair) who ALMOST made up for the service experienced by previously mentioned staff member. He was GENUINELY kind, asked about our day, and held up a great conversation. I hope he's able to get some recognition from this portion of the review as he made our experience pleasant for once.
I have been eating at this location for nearly 4 years as a student. The food is always fresh, the meals are some of the tastiest and definitely the healthiest on campus. The staff are always kind, and personable. If you need a good meal on campus, this is one of the best places to go. Atmosphere is 4/5 because it is inside Van Vliet, so there is no sit down spots or ability for Chopped lead to build atmosphere.

Ordered online and went to pick up 15 min later. Waited and waited and then someone with the same name as me returned a boxed salad. I waited some more and then asked about my order and was handed that salad box. When I asked if this was the salad that had been given out to the lady that returned and item, the staff member said no, and I asked again, and she denied it although I was standing right there and saw her put the returned salad to the side and pick up that same salad and give it to me. Perhaps staff should be checking customer's order numbers when they pick up, and, if they do get a return, they should re-make the item for the correct customer as that is what most restaurants would do when food items go out to the wrong table.
Eric and his team at the U of A Chopped Leaf location are always so great to deal with. The catering orders I place for lunch meetings are always delivered on time and very fresh. I receive excellent reviews from attendees on the quality, freshness and quantity and most importantly the taste of food. It's full of flavour and there's a great selection for anyone with dietary modifications. I would recommend Chopped Leaf on campus to anyone needing catering for meetings large and small. They are extremely dependable (did I mention "they deliver on time") and fantastic to work with. Andrea Cliff Department of Medicine University of Alberta

Great food, efficient service, quiet location. Finished a campus tour with my girlfriend and we both decided to have a bite… probably the best decision for anyone hungry or, who is coming out of a workout even a break between classes. The lady who serviced me and my girlfriend was extremely friendly and very polite. I would highly recommend going to this location!

Horrible service here! Edited: I just ate egg shells in my bowl!! Servers are really stingy even though they charge $10 for a bowl. I always order the no.4 bowl and once, there were no avocadoes or cracker inside. The next time, I got 1 tiny slice of avocado and it was all brown and nasty looking! I miss when i actually got decent amounts with fresh avocadoes. Check your orders before leaving. Seriously. I hope other locations are not as bad because their food is actually really good. Wished the service was on par.
Food: 10$ for some veggies and rice. Rip off Didn't feel welcome, and unless the cashier was bipolar or can change her mood on dime, but she seemed to treat me different to the girl after me. She seemed anoyed when she had to get off her phone to serve a customer(me). When she served the girl after me, she met her with a near smile, and after the lady bought her wrap, she offered a free vitamin water to her. Seemed a bit odd she offered her a free drink and not me, a dude. Not going there again.
Great quality: 5 star for the quality & (-4) stars for the prices which increase on a monthly basis even with no notice and nothing. Happened just today: Bowl number 3 with Salmon: ~$16.5 including 5 percent Alberta tax. How much was this just two days ago? ~$15.5 and just months ago the same thing was ~$14.5!! There seems to be much inflation only at this store. At this point it certainly does not worth it anymore hands down!
Who ever owns this location really needs to staff appropriately- I waited 40 minutes for a quesadilla, the two working I felt terrible for as it was obvious they had little experience. The orders where scatters across their make table and they kept asking who ordered what. I have to give the two employees who were working a lot of credit for not walking out of the situation Honestly to the owner you need to do better
Unfortunately, they are lacking on all levels here. The poor girl who was left to fend for herself on a Saturday with a volleyball Premier happening. You can't offer proper service and product with high volumes of people and only one gal working. This happened 2 weeks ago according to the reviews, and nothing was changed.

understaffed during a volleyball tournament so the wait time was over an hour and a half but that wasn’t the issue, after we waited, i got the wrong wrap and then they “fixed it” but didn’t add my chicken, the “fixed” wrap was almost half the size as well. spent a lot of money on adding the chicken and didn’t even get it…

Not Sanitary! I'm not one to complain about food at all, and I enjoy chopped leafs food a lot. But, I was really thrown off when I saw an employee squeeze out a rag in their detergent bucket, whipped the counter and then WITH THE SAME GLOVES ON, proceeded to pick up my quesadilla, handle it, chopped it up, and put it in its box. This was without even, at the least, drying her gloves. Yikes.
Strike one: guy who made my wrap was not wearing gloves and had a cold. Strike two: ordered Bangkok with shrimp and she gave me chicken..shrimp is more expensive and that is what I paid for. Strike three: pulled a long black hair from my wrap...I'll spare the photo for those who eat here often. I love chop leaf..I'll continue to go..just not at the university, three strikes you're out.
There is a volleyball tournament here and they have 2 people working the poor girl is doing everything and the boy working is so slow. People are leaving thebkinebup as we don't have time to wait. On tournament days maybe try and schedule some more staff. 20 teams of ladies and their families and we all have to go other places.
I usually love choppedicure leaf because they provide good food that I'm not allergic to! But the last few times IIe been sadly disappointed. The portion size is less than I've seen else where and I ask for chicken, pay for chicken, and don't get it. For the price of the food I feel like I'm getting ripped off.
I’m very disappointed in service in this location. Second time ordering online 30 min ahead and second time coming and discovering that my order wasn’t even starting preparing. Why you even have order online option if I still need to come and wait as long aa I would waited if come straight to the place.
Today was my second and last time eating in this place. The quality of the food is not the best ( lot of canola oil in the dressings, veggies no fresh, presentation of the plate horrible) nor the customer service. The laddy who works there is always in a terrible mood and rude. I won't come back.
I ordered my food and the person who took my order and payment put gloves on... then proceeded to take out his phone to check whatever he was checking... moves on to the food station and about to start making my food before I say something about food hygiene... this is unacceptable food handling.
I wish I could upload a photo! TERRIBLE. Large salad box only half full. Southwest Salad bowl was terrible. Chicken, lettuce, and tortilla and was NOT CHOPPED at all. Not worth $13 when u can easily prepare yourself for $5. Recommend going to subway or anywhere else to get a properly made salad!
Every time I order from this chopped they always forget an ingredient in a chef made salad. They also either drench it in dressing or don't put any any all, plus for spending $13.00 on a salad that barely has any greens in it is ridiculous. Love chopped but so disappointed with this location.
Great place if you’re looking for healthy meal and my favourite is Bangkok wraps. Definitely recommended the staff is very helpful and nice

Excellent! Had the Popeye (full sized) salad with chicken today, and enjoyed it enough to actually write a review. The price is a little high, but definitely worth it for a quality, nutritious product. Friendly and quick service.. Definitely recommend!
I paid $10 for a quesadilla that was not even half filled with the toppings. Over half of it was just crusty tortilla. Definitely not worth the price, super disappointed as I only buy lunch on campus occasionally I wish I would've went somewhere else.
Zero stars is best for this. They have such a limited amount of toppings and proteins are extremely expensive. Do everyone including your business a favor of making the selections and pricing reasonable or you will loose customers.
Staff very friendly, she help me with the menu, and she offered me with drink cookies and chips. And so delicious i like it. High recommeded!

Lots of veggies, but way over saturated with oil and over done pita chips. For something that is supposed to be a healthy-ish option the oil absolutely brings the quality way down.

I do love chopped leaf, their food is very good. However, this one in particular has the highest prices I've ever seen from this franchise. They accept SPC card.
Eat here several times a week. The staff are friendly and helpful. Food is healthy and good quality. However for the price i would expect organic vegetables.
Really like this salad shop. Service is quick and friendly, and they have a lot of tasty salad options!

Easy access if you are already in VVC for an activity. It in on level 2 of VVC in front of info den. No free car parking near this location.
Fresh vegetables and plenty of options to choose from. If you’re eating healthy, Chopped Leaf is simply the healthiest choice on campus rn.
So gross! The lettuce was going bad and the girl working there handled the money and the food using the same gloves! Not going there again.
Had the salad bowl with chicken. Food was good and was up fast. This chopped leaf was on par with other I have visited.
Food was so tasty but the service was crazy slow. Easily 15 minutes for 2 wraps with only a few people ahead of us.
$10 for a bowl with no meat, poorly cut vegetables, and way too much dressing. I will likely not return.

Why do your hours say 10am-7pm. The girl behind the counter just closed up at 12:30. Terrible.
Healthy food that tastes great! Only wish they were open longer/during the weekends.
Food is always fresh and I love that there's a healthy option here on campus!
Great food! It was filling, and seemed healthy. Service was good and quick
Always check your bowls because sometimes ingredients are missing!
I had a lazy salad with tuna; hopefully it'll be better next time
I love the #2 bowl. The ingredients are fresh and taste yummy!
Nice place to grab a quick lunch that's on the healthier side.
Gave is the wrong sauce for the pegasus salad. Not the same.
Pretty good but overpriced. Adding protein is expensive
The food is healthy and tasty, but overpriced.
Quick service, fresh and good food.
Love the food. Service can be slow
