The Classic's performance has not lost in being moved to an outdoor venue, the amphitheater at the SA Botanical Garden. Socially distanced on the gorund there, the audience enjoyed an uninterrupted view of Shakespeare's Macbeth on Satruday night last. The props were down to a bare minimum; dfferent tartans denoting different clans, swords and a single large chair, the sought after throne. Even the black face masks had a role to play, acting as a full stop after each actor's appearance on stage. Great acting is a given with the Classic's plays, but this was a stellar night, not least helped by the fireworks between Stellwaggon and the actor portraying MacDuff, and Lady Macbeth, a totally believable swing from loving wife, to scheming female to madness. I would have liked to know the name of that actor, (sorry, the progam was available only online, didn't seek it out). Might be an idea to point that fact out on the website.

Great location if you want a small, intimate theater experience. Our seats were placed around the stage. Loved our particular show too. This location was attached to a larger theater and you can visit both buildings to look at the old architecture. Location is cool as it's in a small art deco part of town. Note that parking can be hard. We ended up parking at bank parking lot and walked over.

just enjoyed a wonderful performance of Edward Albee's "the marriage play." very small, intimate space in black box fashion. performers were wonderful, very talented. I'm from out of town (cincinnati) and really am glad I chose to get out of the hotel and sample some local arts efforts. I strongly recommend this company.

The Classic Theatre is an outstanding black box theater that is wonderfully transfigured for every show as needed. The shows we've seen have been extremely professionall with outstanding sets and lighting supporting wonderful casts of talented actors. Add this to your list of 'must see' theaters!

Great performance of Midsummer Nights Dream by large and committed cast and crew. Cast provided excellent Q&A following production for student groups. I would recommend the Classic to anyone. Exceptional creativity overcame limits of the venue to capture the inspiration of this timeless play.

Fantastic performance of A Christmas Carol with Ray Seams at the helm at the beautiful Maverick-Carter House. I wish this could be an annual event in San Antonio. The acting was top-notch, and I’d be glad to return and see Kurt Wilkinson as lead. Great work. Thank you!

Excellent acting by all the characters and a great production! The theater is small though and seats less than 100 but every seat is a good seat because it is so close to the stage!

Attended "The Six" performance. The theater was beautiful and comfortable. The performance was amazing. So moved by the cancer survivors' stories.
