I am writing this review because I want to warn you about staying here. I have stayed at The D a number of times now because it is a great location if you are attending the Life is Beautiful Festival. In the past I have not had complaints about my stay here. This year has changed my mind about even returning. To start it off I do want to say thank you for the kind lady who assisted me with making my reservation. She listened to my situation and was helpful the whole time I was on the phone with her. If I can give separate stars for that part I would give 5. From that point it went down hill. I went to check-in and was told that my room was not ready. I was told I would be able to check in early which is why I went to the hotel early. The person at the desk told me I would get a call when my room was available. Over 4 hours later I still had not received a call so I just went back to the hotel to see if I could check-in. I was given my room, no real problem there other than I had been waiting for hours for a call that never came. The room was fine, clean and comfortable. My complaints come on the day I checked out. The sink stopped draining entirely with no reason that I could see. I didn't really make a fuss about it since I was going to be checking out in a matter of hours anyway. Just before 11am I turned the TV to the channel to checkout and noticed that it said I had 3 long distance call charges from 9/20 on the room. I had not even checked into the room until 9/21. I decided not to use the TV checkout because of this and went downstairs to checkout at the desk obviously needing to have the calls from the wrong day removed. When I got to the desk the lady told me that it WAS a mistake and the calls were made on 9/22. I told her I never once in my stay even picked up the phone. I have a working cellphone that has a long distance plan. I asked her why there was the discrepancy with the day it said on the TV checkout and what she was seeing. She could not give me an answer. ? She showed me a print out of the charges. It showed a $12 charge a $17 charge and a $4 charge. I asked her why the difference between the charges? She explained that it was based on the duration of the calls. I pointed out to her that all of the calls were made within the same minute 4:35. Each call could not have been within that same minute for multiple durations of time. Clearly this is another discrepancy in their system. After speaking to two different managers without them being able to explain why they had so many different discrepancies they would not remove the charges. I realize this is not a ton of money to be concerned about, but think about how many times you checkout in a hurry and maybe don't look over your final bill. I know I have. How many other people are they tacking on little charges for them to go unnoticed? I have spent thousands of dollars at this hotel collectively between all of my stays there. I will not be returning to this hotel because they would not remove the charges for the calls I didn't make durring my stay. I have attended Life is Beautiful 8years out of the 10 and this is how I get to end my trip. Fighting over 30some dollars and they can't even give me a solid explanation for all of the discrepancies in the information they are providing for the calls. Can anyone one else explain how you can make 3 calls within the same minute that are 3 different durations of time? Check your bill before you checkout or better yet, maybe plan on staying somewhere else.

Last night 12-Nov at about 0430hrs the “fire” alarm goes off. This isn’t a normal fire alarm, a voice comes blasting into our room saying “emergency situation, please exit the building. Do not go on an elevator go to your nearest emergency stairs” and repeats this for several minutes. We get up and prepare to exit, we can still hear music blasting from the casino floor and there’s only about 50 guests that we can see exiting. We finally make our way down from our floor and an employee yells at us for using the emergency exit. We try explaining that an alarm is going off and they have no idea what’s going on. Nobody does. It takes several more minutes before someone comes out and directs us out of this emergency exit/back area. They give no update. Don’t tell us what’s going on. Nothing. We are left started, at 430am on a side street with no direction. Unsure if it’s safe to go back to the hotel or even our rooms, we remained on the street for 20min before another guest told us they heard it was all clear to go back inside. This morning, I go to the front desk and talk to a manager. The manager just offers to “comp” my resort fee for the night and didn’t want to come out of the office. I insisted to speak with him. He finally came out. The manager had no idea about the situation and no real explanation. He first stated it was a test, then a malfunction, then someone smoking. He didn’t write anything down nor did he offer any solution for if this happens in the future. Not acceptable! I was then directed at the security office to file a written complaint with them. They had no explanation either. They stated that “officers” should have been dispatched, to direct us and offer explanations. I told him that none of what should have happened did. If this was a real fire or active threat situation, The D Hotels response would have put guests at a greater risk. Truly unacceptable response to the situation and to a guests issues.

Safety
Extremely poor response and negligent with guests safety.

The D is a good Hotel if you want to stay downtown. It is close to Fremont Street, in fact you can't get any closer. I don't know what it is about all the hotels this guy whose first name starts with a D but they're a little weird. The one at the end of the street and also the Golden Gate are very old and I guess it's hard these old hotels and make them modern. I don't think we would ever stay here again especially since the pricing is very similar to some of the bigger hotels that have modern rooms. We did pretty good gambling here though and I have to say the casinos are fun, they have dancing girls we drink for free because we gambled all night long!

Recently stayed here because we were attending a nearby live event, and it was only a couple hundred feet away from The D. Up front it seemed great, behind the curtain you see them blemishes. As far as amenities go there is a good amount, problem is they all close early, so when we'd get back from our event there was nowhere to eat but McDonald's and a hotdog joint. The room looked good, but there were issues. The sink would gurgle (I was nervous it was going to backup), the toilet would clog even from a blown nose tissue, and for some reason every 25 minutes the air conditioner would make a god awful noise that was as loud and as obnoxious as a leaf blower. It constantly woke me, up even while using earplugs. It also looked like it was barely hanging into the wall. Overall, location wise, it's right in the center of Fremont, but price wise you may want to shop around. We stayed at the Golden Nugget while attending a concert more recently and it was significantly better IMO. Maybe they gave me a dud room because I didn't book directly through the official website. Too clarify I wouldn't refuse to ever stay here again, but it definitely won't be my first choice next time I stay in downtown Vegas. If I ever get a possessed air condition again I'll demand a room change, I was just too busy and exhausted to bother with it this time.

Apparently this hotel/casino is supposed to be Detroit themed which that does not come across at all!!! The rooms are kind of out dated and not great at all the pictures they use online must be of suites or updated rooms we had a 2 queen room no fridge no microwave but we had a safe. The sinks are weird squares that don't drain well and the shower has no safety handles and no where to hang towels or put soaps. The boast on their website about "The Vue" bar sorry to disappoint it's a tiny little cut out in the corner of the second floor big enough for about 20 people with an outside balcony with no table or places to sit. The floors were often dirty and the elevators often smelled bad. The pool is nice and small they advertise with pictures of Circa's pool which you will have access to but it's about a block walk down Fremont so plan for that. The pools at the Circa are super nice and the drink prices aren't terrible be warned you cannot take anything in with you not even water! Going back to the rooms at the D the walls are super thin prepare to hear everything your neighbors do and God help you if you're anywhere near the Fremont street awning the noise it so loud and so terrible and it goes on until 4 am EVERY NIGHT EVEN WEEK DAYS. Most of the staff was very nice and the location is right in the middle of the Fremont street experience so that's great but the D needs much improvement wouldn't stay again.

I was in the casino gambling for awhile had to go to the bathroom as I went to the bathroom and he was using it during the number two security and man and kick on my star door and threatened to throw me out. I responded to the security officer that if he comes in the stall not only would he be getting his but kicked but I'd sue them. This did not stop the harassment at all. After I was finished I went to speak to upper management and waited for almost an hour for no one. Wall in the bathroom when I asked to speak to the security officers to supervisor he told me that he was the supervisor and there was nobody in the hotel higher than him. I know there's a lot of homeless people that roam around and I know they have to secure the perimeter but after coming in the first time and seeing if I was okay and I talked to them that should have been it it shouldn't have escalated. This makes me wonder if they really treat people like that that is wild I don't care if your homeless or what your situation is everybody deserves to be treated with respect it's not like I was coming in and was just loitering I had already spent $120 I was just constipated and was trying to use the bathroom in peace. I have never experienced direct harassment like that from anybody when I was doing nothing wrong.

The room and the location itself were nice. It was in the heart of Freemont street, and the beds were comfortable. However, the room did not have a mini fridge, microwave, or coffee maker. I do not know why a hotel with a higher price point does not have these basic amenities in the room. There is a small cafe in the lobby of the hotel, and it was over $20 for 2 coffees and 2 donuts, and the donuts left something to be desired. I do not not understand the what guests get for the cost of a room, when there are more cost efficient options with more amenities. Also, the second day there, Housekeeping never came and cleaned our room. We needed clean towels so requested from the front desk. Over an hour later we did not have the towels, and ended up using the dirty ones on the floor since housekeeping never serviced the room as we had to go to bed. Woke up in the morning, still no towels or any follow-up. After our reservation period ended at The D, we had reservations at a Hilton. The room at the Hilton had a microwave, mini fridge, coffee maker with coffee/cream/sugar, and included breakfast.

Had a great experience with my stay. The staff was very friendly & helped me with any questions I had. The valet team was FANTASTIC. Every valet I spoke to was friendly, professional, helpful & quick. Loved those guys. The rooms were pretty standard. Pretty much what you would get at any hotel across the US. They were clean & provided just about everything I expected. Overall very positive experience. Would recommend to anyone looking for a standard hotel in Vegas.

The D is a very awesome hotel. Valet is free please tip the driver, free parking for guests also. What a deal. They have great staff our grandma got tired and fainted and they reached quickly and professionally. The drinks are good and prices not crazy. The hotel rooms are nice and it’s a def smokers spot. It’s Right off the Fremont street strip which means they have live music and performances at 8p with a great dj. People surround the area dancing and enjoying one another. Really enjoyed the rooms are big and the shower is comfortable. Nice hotel and great staff. I am enjoying my stay with my family. They have a very nice pool, very big, great for everyone.

I found your security team professional and friendly. Some of the concierge workers could have used an iron on their clothing. And someone should be at the desk at all times. when went to return the luggage cart I had to wait over 10 minutes to retrieve my driver's license. The fellow was assisting another guest. I did however feel safe, which is very significant. I'm not clear why the shower door is not built to keep the water inside the shower. it's half a door. I do think the D offers value over a lot of the other hotels for the price. It was wonderful not to have to pay for parking while staying there. The banquet room was also nice.

This review is for the Casino only. I didn’t stay here but gambled several times during my last trip to LV. I kept coming back because I had such an overall positive experience playing here. Crowd was fun and lively, Blackjack dealers were friendly and minimums were reasonable. There's lots of different slot machines and the vintage Sigma Derby machine upstairs is the best. I won a little here playing BJ and slots. YMMV but I can't say I won anywhere else on my trip. Drink service was consistent and good. Tip your hard-working waitresses and they will keep you hydrated. As soon as I sat down I was offered a drink. This alone will keep me in your casino longer. Finally, the restrooms were incredibly clean here. I feel like you can tell a lot about a business based on their restroom cleanliness and the restrooms here were in great shape. If you're in Vegas, I highly recommend going to the D to drink, play, and people watch. I look forward to going back!

Location is great in that you can walk to everything along Fremont St. If you need rest, don’t stay here because the bands played until 2 am and we could hear it all from the 9tth floor. No amenities in the rooms and only given 2 towels for our stay. We had shampoo, conditioner and lotion but they were only 1/2 full. Many reviews said parking was free but we had to pay $25/day for our stay. No information was given at check in. Minimal service at best.

Okay this was our first time staying at this particular Casino on Fremont Street and it turned out to be a great choice! The value was awesome and the casino is very clean and safe! A little bit of cigarette smoke but not in the room areas where we were staying. Check in was pretty painless and we even got a free beer as we checked in! The parking area is Right adjacent to the casino and it has both ballet and south parking. We will likely be back to stay at this location during future visits to Fremont Street!

The room was great. Check in was bad. My original room was given away and I was given a substitute without a discount. Instead of a two bedroom had one bed with pull out couch. I asked to have couch bed pulled out. Came back into room and you guessed it. Nothing was done in the room. The next morning I asked for late check out and was given it actually comped it due to the issues. Bad news they didn’t tell the lock because I was locked out. Had to stand in a long line to rekey the card. Lastly I asked to speak with a manager and shared this with him but he could not have cared less. Actually was working on his screen while I was talking. I thought he was looking up my information but no he was doing something else. I said honestly did you even listen? Reply … just looked away. Room good — service absolutely horrible. Have to work on that to ever get repeat customers. Disappointed

We’ve had a terrible experience at the D hotel. The AC is so loud we haven’t been able to sleep at all. We’ve never experienced something like this. We are staying at room 2040, and I’m not looking forward to tonight. We tried to leave but people at the front desk didn’t seem to care at all when I explained about the noise in the room and wouldn’t give us a refund because it was after 11:00. So much for customer service. Of course they are lovely and welcoming when you arrive. We booked two nights thinking it would be nice to explore this part of the city, and thinking this hotel would be comfortable. There are so many options in Las Vegas, no need to come here an have such a horrible experience. Bottom line - avoid this hotel at all costs.

I was told check-in is 3 pm. We arrived at 3 pm. Our room was not ready. I was told our room would be ready in 15 to 20 minutes. It was 45 minutes before we could access the room. We were offered no accommodations while we waited. How about a free drink at the bar, or some gambling tokens to pass the time? Instead, we were forced to wait outside with our luggage in the heat. I was told they would call or text when the room was ready. They did not. It's not a bad place; reasonable prices, good location, free parking for guests in the attached garage; but they really need to work on customer service.

Went here for New Year's eve. Wrong choice. We thought Fremont Street would be a fun atmosphere. It's basically the ghetto of Las vegas. This casino was okay. However, the upstairs bar charges a different rate than the downstairs bar. On New Year's Eve they were charging $12 a shot at the upstairs bar. At the downstairs Long bar, I was able to get two double mixed drinks for $24. The upstairs bar charged us $36 for one double and one single. And then $14 for another single. Total rip off! The only thing that made this place bearable was that my boyfriend won money on the casino table. This is basically a tourist trap. I would avoid this casino!

Downtown is great and the D is easy to get to off the freeway. The staff is always nice and helpful. I've been to all the restaurants and the food is great. Valet is helpful, the long bar is a nice place to have a drink and relax. It's not the biggest or fanciest but it nice. My wife and I weren’t guest of the hotel, but I just wanted to write this review to bring up the head valet (I believe his name was Cris). He saw that my wife and I were at the enterprise desk waiting for an hour for someone to come by, but no one from enterprise came. That’s when Cris to the liberty to help us out and that was really nice of him. Honestly, if he didn’t help me and my wife we would’ve bailed on renting a car and make our vacation limited to downtown Vegas only. So Cris really is an awesome guy and the D hotel is really lucky to have him be a part of the hotel.

This is a good basic hotel room that has the staples. Rooms are a bit dated, but does what I needed. Bathrooms felt like they tried to update them but weren’t very clean- hair in the shower drain and sink upon checking into my room. Appreciated the blackout curtains and quietness of the room even though it was so close to Fremont Street. Didn’t really use the pool or gamble so I can’t comment on those. Restaurant options are decent but nothing to write home about. Appreciated the free parking for guests.

The D Hotel and restaurants were great. The only beef with The D is the noise and music until 2:00am. We stayed for 3 nights. Each night the bass rocked the room until 2:00am. The first night we asked to be moved but nothing was available. The next night we were moved to an alleged more quiet room. Turned out to be louder than the previous room. The D needs to reevaluate their clientele and decide whether or not a band until 2:00am rocking the rooms out is more of a priority than their guests sleeping.

I didn't stay here but my son and his hockey team did. Saw the rooms and look good, hotel looks good and entrance , though Google sends you to the exit and a dead end street is right off of Fremount Street which has the cover over 3-4 blocks of restaurants, bars stores etc plus live bands, djs and street performers. This is the same section you can zip line. This place, during this time had some GREAT rates.

Terrible experience. Only one night stay and main overhead light in room did not work. Light switch had exposed wires. Phots attached. Was told light would be fixed. Upon our return, it turned on once. Then, immediately went out again. I've stayed in nicer cabins! Was not offered anything in compensation. Very disappointing experience. Will be sure to tell others to avoid!

Worst hotel room I've ever stayed in by far.

This hotel is located right next to the Fremont Street experience.. The hotel staff was very friendly and attentive. Me and my fiancé had been drinking and when we arrived back at the D, we both headed into the restroom, the restroom attendants both checked on us and made sure we were alright, the rooms were nice and clean, the price of the rooms were reasonable, the coffee cafe located in the lobby was great, overall it was a good experience and I will definitely be back.

Called for room service and was told they have a third party room service system. We called 4 times throughout an entire day and didn’t receive any new towels or a cleaning. We were told they have a third party system and would not be around to clean our room or deliver towels, it was based on whether their third party wanted to. Not sure what the resort fee is for here? Definitely not cleaning crew. This will unfortunately be our last stay.

The rooms look like they are from the 80s. All furniture is out dated. The carpet is so filthy i don't want to walk barefooted on it. The beds are so old and hard. Also the bedding has a weird tint to it. They don't dust everything. There is water damage all over in the bathroom. I don't trust the emergency fire water from the looks of the sprayer. I'm just disgusted. Don't waste your time

Room was not available when I arrived. I waited about an hour. Check in was easy and fast. The room was clean and adequate. Nothing special. Although it was a non smoking room it still had some smoke odor. Probably from the casino. Location on Fremont Street is excellent. Very easy to drive to from the airport. Easy in and out of the parking garage. Casino was ok. Typical downtown casino.

The room was nice, right on Freemont street close to everything. The bartenders at the Long Bar were very friendly. The only complaint I have is that there was not a refrigerator, microwave or coffee pot, however the coffee bar was right outside the elevator in the lobby so we did not have to walk far for coffee. We had steak left over from dinner and it would have been nice to have had a refrigerator to put it in to save for later.

We got a room directly facing down onto Fremont St. The check in was easy and parking to the room was short walk and convenient as opposed to a mile hike at other casinos. Rooms were pretty basic and thin walls with old school mounted AC units. I gave it a 2 star on rooms bc it lacked standard amenities like usb charging ports and it's very noisy due to Fremont and it doesn't quiet down until 2-3 am

Able to check in early! Rebecca at the front desk was super nice. Given a complimentary beer too. Met concierge too, was so helpful. Yep, rooms are a standard hotel room, but for the price and location, it's spectacular. Please don't let some of the other reviews change your mind. I'd definitely stay at the D again!

If you're looking for a luxury room then this is not the place. The rooms are old and tired. Mattress is lumpy and sunk to the floor. The bathroom has been recently updated. The elevators are AWESOME!. Put your floor number in at the kiosk, tells you what elevator to use and away you go. No more shoving and pushing to get on when crowded. Location can't be beat! Had a lot of fun staying downtown this trip.

Paid for a room we didn’t get after notifying them we had a late arrival. Walls and Doors paper thin. No toilet paper of tissue. Rude front desk person should go into another line of work. Paid 204 a night an 75 would be too much for here. Shower floods the whole bathroom floor. Furniture beat up in the room. Paid for a city view an we got this view.

They have great staff our grandma got tired and fainted and they reached quickly and professionally. The drinks are good and prices not crazy. The hotel rooms are nice and it’s a def smokers spot. It’s Right off the Fremont street

The hotel is nice and location is great for spending time on Fremont Street. The text option for concierge service was Very Helpful! The only issue we had are the beds were hard as a rock!!! All family members have arthritis and this is not the place to stay if you need a soft bed. Also do not have handicap rooms with 2 beds only z we kolllsddd

I (and my family) love the “D”. It is centrally located on Fremont St and easy to get to from the freeway. The staff is exceptional and caters to your every whim. I like that they have security at night and one must show a room card to get in. I was not happy to see their Bell Hops did not return after Covid, but I managed to secure a luggage rack and not run into anyone! Great hotel!!

Did not stay here but spent a few hours in the Casino playing some games and chilling. It was a very fun atmosphere and I had a lot of fun playing the old school games upstairs. Next time we stay on Fremont Street I will definitely be looking to stay here.

Loved this place!! Fun atmosphere and right on Freemont St. Lots to do!! Only drawback was they do not clean your rooms during your stay and had to ask for and go get clean towels daily. Was told it's due to covid that they don't clean rooms other than in between guests.

Haven't stayed here yet but we plan to! The restaurant here is phenomenal and the atmosphere is just an open party with lots to see and do. Not kid friendly but definitely an adult hot spot! Love the drinks they make outside at the bar as well as inside when it's a little chilly.

Made a reservation several months in advance. When we arrived, we were told that room type was not available and all they had were smoking rooms. Neither my wife or I smoke and room smelled terrible. Also, there is loud music played on Fremont until 2 am so don't expect to fall asleep before then...

My number one spot in Las Vegas to gamble! They have the ONLY Sigma Derby machine in the world. It is great fun and only 25 cents per play! It is a true gem. The table games also have low minimums. The drink servers come around a lot while you are playing.

Very reasonable rates here to stay right on Fremont street. The rooms are a little aged with smaller closets, and I was a little concerned about the drainage in the bathroom, but such a great price makes this a win.

Check in was a breeze. Hotel guests having to show ID to get into the building is annoying. The beds are hard as rocks. Great location if you don't go to bed early. Small footprint makes it easy to get around.

An interesting but tiny little casino. They have rooms where you can host your NFL draft party. And that is why I was there. Let me tell you their staff takes care of people. They are super nice and I would recommend it to anyone who does their drafts in person and wants a good room for it.

The hotel was right on Fremont street. So many attractions were just outside the hotel doors. Due to this you could hear the live music coming from the courtyard until 2:00 a.m. in the morning. But other than that the proximity to so many bars, restaurants and music venues was outstanding.

Free parking and cheap rates doesn't COMP for this smokey, loud, and cramped casino in downtown LV. Nothing was complimentary here, not even in-room coffee. And...no matter what you read about paid? reviews about better Casino odds at the D and other downtown spots, don't believe it. I'm going back to the Strip.

The service was spectacular from the moment we arrived, and all employees were very pleasant and helpful. The room itself was lackluster, but it served it's purpose. The Casino is small, but paid me well, so no complaints...

For an older hotel, they maintain it well! It was clean, and they seem to do the majority of the maintenance early in the morning when people are passed out. For the price, I will definitely return. You also get tickets to Stadium Swim at Circa.

Located on Fremont, The D is a great place to visit. We did a pub crawl downtown and this was one of the stops. It is a nice place to have a drink and gamble. They even had horse racing.I had a blast betting on the "horses"! Fun place.

Seems like a okay place. People playing slots seem to like it. Not overrated, features don't work, seems like a casual place to place slots and a casino. I used to work in the food area there, seemed that way too.

Guests are permitted to walk around with their dogs indiscriminately. Drunk humans with their animals. Was attacked by a guest's "pet" in the lobby then no one apologized since Americans value cute dogs over fellow humans.
