Walked very long and came all the way to Adelaide searching for something that is actually interesting only to get turned down when on the brochure it said that you could go into the exhibition but then the staff turned us around. The older lady was quite rude whereas the younger one was nicer but they should fix their brochure. More
On Melbourne St Adelaide is the David Roche museum and art gallery. Growing up I went passed the property every day and wondered who lived there. Well David Roche is long passed, but the house is opened and full and I mean full of the most fabulous paintings furniture statutes and object d art. A must see for lovers of fine things.
Amazing collection. Pity you don't get the chance to enjoy the whole collection as you are directed through the rooms with info only on the items that the tour host is interested in. Would be a greater experience if you had the ability to look without the pressure of being on a tour. More
What an amazing place to visit. We are are so lucky in Adelaide to have this magnificent house to visit. Spent 2 hours there and needed more time. Will definitely be returning for another visit. The antiques are breath taking. Bookings essential and very reasonably priced
Really wanted to visit this treasure of yesterday but unfortunately that is where their booking technology is back in the 20th Century. Got all the way through the booking process including PayPal and it wouldn't progress to finalise booking. Very Disappointing.
Well worth booking a tour with guides who knew David Roche. You could travel to many museums and galleries internationally to see comparable items but here is this amazing collection of 1000s of items right here in North Adelaide. Travel at home instead!
We popped in to check out the Arthur Boyd exhibition which finishes on September 2nd and it was most worthwhile, a series of sketches and drawings by Boyd and huge tapestries of those drawings, all related to St Francis of Assisi. Most impressive More
Totally fascinating. It probably needs many visits to absorb the collections but the guides provide wonderful insights into the highlights and their history and willingly answer questions. Potentially overwhelming so be prepared to focus on

We had previously done the house tour in 2016 but decided to do it again. There had been quite a lot of changes to both the items displayed and the museum itself, so it was definitely worth a second visit. The house is incredible with an
Fantastic place to visit if you are interested in the decorative arts. David Roche was a wealthy collector of neoclassical objects from porcelain, paintings and sculpture. Was lucky enough to arrive when the guided tour starting at 12pm.
A world class collection. A hidden secret prior to David's passing this is a world class decorative arts museum hidden inside the collector's unassuming former residence. You will see paintings, jewelry, ceramics and bronzes that are as
This Musuem was named after a Dog Judge who was a member of Dogs-SA at Kilburn for many years and was a judge at one of our Dog Shows. He was famous for his comments about certain Dog breeds. We as Dog owners and handlers will miss his
Saw the Arthur Boyd tapestry exhibition today, which were really good. But we were told we could look in the two rooms adjacent to reception, when we did a very frosty woman came up to us and said "We're about to start a tour, can you
I’ve been to the Hermitage and the Faberge museum in St Petersburg and the David Roche collection in North Adelaide is just as stunning albeit on a smaller scale. Guides are passionate and very knowledgeable. Highly recommended.
Lovely gallery space featuring interesting and engaging exhibits. The only downside was that they didn't advertise the exhibit entrance fee on visible signage outside so it was a bit of a surprise when we went to enter More
VERY helpful staff, only had time to do the drop in walk thru (concession $5) Really enjoyed the experience, You need to book online to do the full tours that takes approximately 1 hour, that is our excuse to come back.
A must do in Adelaide. Don't miss this amazing place. The tour guides are extremely knowledgeable and entertaining and the collection unbelievable. Among the best in thecwothe, if not the best I've seen.

I won't be the first to say "this is a cave of wonders" but it most emphatically is. The guides were also excellent, very informative without drowning you in detail
Went to see the Wedgewood display it was very interesting. House itself is lovely will do a house tour next time. The gardens are good. Enjoyed my day More
The Flowers Exhibition was excellent. A wide variety...paintings, tapestries, ceramics, photography. All combined over 3 themes. Beautiful!
A jewel box of European treasures housed in a pastiche palace of one man's excess, presented with passion by an incredible group of guides.
Incredible! Beautifully kept and displayed. Excellent guides and information. Leave plenty of time to see it all. I'm going back one day.
Fantastic museum. A well kept secret of Adelaide. Great exhibition of military made quilts there at present. Some over 200years old!
Beautiful home, lovely staff. I enjoyed our tour of David's lovely home and seeing and hearing about the time he spent living here.
Beautiful, uplifting but most of all, hugely entertaining - Adelaide, this is ours. We are so lucky. Use it and and treat others.
