"I ordered the passion fruit cocktail to be told there was none left"
"I've been going to this pub off and on for years"
"i have drank at the daylight inn for many years, Staff services is amazing friendly helpful very attentive"
"Food menu was 90% out of stock, although the service was prompt, on the app the guiness pie came with chips, something we incidently have a picture of, the dish turned up with mash, we asked for the chips it was supposed to come with, to be told it's an app mix up"
"Terrible service bar staff had no clue in their wines got charged for another wine that they tipped away"
I ordered the passion fruit cocktail to be told there was none left. It was quite quiet and we were advised there was up to a 45 minute wait for food. I ordered the veggie kebab panini melt to be told half an hour after ordering there were no panini’s left so they would use a wrap instead. Around an hour after waiting for 2 wraps I was served a wrap with just lettuce, cheese and tomato. I asked why there was no kebab (the main ingredient) to be told there was none left. I said to the waiter if I was told this when ordering I would not have ordered it so asked if I could have a complimentary side dish. I asked for the macaroni cheese to be told there was none left... So there was no passion fruit cocktail, no panini’s, no veggie kebab (which was in a lot of choices from the menu and I was not told this until after my food was served) and no macaroni cheese. Also whilst being seated I noticed 3 staff standing around chatting behind the bar whilst a gentleman was waiting to be served for a couple of minutes and had to wave his arms to get their attention. Really disappointing. The above was posted a month ago and I received an email advising I would receive a voucher, I am yet to receive this.
I've been going to this pub off and on for years. And feel the food, decor and atmosphere are better than I've ever experienced. Possibly a change in management since I last visited? And a little bit of a face lift! Parking is a problem. But public transport links are nearby. It's a good pub to meet in if one of party is travelling to/from London. This will always be a locals, sport watcher and a commuters pub. It's not really a family friendly pub - there are other places nearby for that anyway. Although felt our son was tolerated more than last few visits. With such a large L shaped bar, there will always be delays in service and the staff seemed uninspired - we cleared and wiped our own table... Usually if a customer asks for a cloth to clean a table, a worker would come and clean, not willingly hand over a cloth and continue to gaze into space behind the bar. Food was good. The lunchtime £5 menu is generous and I have already mentioned this to my retired relatives, who are planning to visit soon.
i have drank at the daylight inn for many years, Staff services is amazing friendly helpful very attentive. Ian and Elaine the landlord and landlady are very friendly and the staff and regulars speak highly off them. I would definitely recommend the food as well . overall a lovely pub

Food menu was 90% out of stock, although the service was prompt, on the app the guiness pie came with chips, something we incidently have a picture of, the dish turned up with mash, we asked for the chips it was supposed to come with, to be told it's an app mix up... Of which they brought out the chips promptly following by the card machine to pay for the restaurant/ apps mistake... Honestly that is some of the worst customer service I have ever witnessed. We were with my elderly grandad, coming up to 85 so we paid it without kicking up a fuss but safe to say we will not be coming back and will be letting others know about our poor experience.

Terrible service bar staff had no clue in their wines got charged for another wine that they tipped away. The food was ok, but the wine option was very poor . We asked for a glass of blush but was given rose there is a difference between the two wines, can't understand how they would tip your glass of wine away that haven't even been touched but had been paid for & charge you for a replacement, so was charged £15.60 for glass of rose & a bad one at that. It's totally unacceptable Relpy ; I can't rely to your original pathetic response & I added more information not sure why you have a problem with that as you don't seem to have a problem with tipping customers paid drinks down the sink because the staff dont know the difference between blush & rose.
This is my favorite pub in the area. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere! Large, listed building, recently refurbished (before Armageddon). Though it's not as busy as it used to be due to the 'rule of 6' and you have to book a table in advance (unless you turn up when not so busy), the staff and landlords have done their best to adhere to the rules and to keep the visitors as safe as possible. Table service only, though a little crazy, is a nice change to it being packed with punters doing dozens of shots at the weekend! But hopefully in time things will calm down and return to the busy days of drunken rampant rambling of a Friday or Saturday night that many were used to. Keep going guys!! ❤
The Daylight has been a favourite in my family for many years. Either for watching football with my late dad, taking my mum for a bite to eat or just relaxing for a drink on my own or with friends. Managers Ian and Elaine became personal friends to us all and have recently helped me by providing the fine function room to celebrate the life of my recently passed mum. She would have been so pleased. A lovely gesture. Brilliant staff, a great atmosphere and a warm welcome. If you want to watch a match, have a good value pub meal or just watch the world go by, visit this wonderful community pub. I can't rate it high enough.

Good quality Brews, Drinks, Coffee and Food. Live Sports Screening and Audio Music. Good Atmosphere, top Customer Service, Friendly Staff and Security. Outdoor/Indoor seating with separate Family Area and Conference Room for Private Functions. 21+ Age for Entry and Kids allowed with Parents before 18.00pm. Pet friendly Outdoor seating. Outdoor Warm smoking area. Disabilities and Wheelchair Friendly. Online Food Order/ Delivery options. Cab service on request. Busy on Weekends, advance Table booking recommended. (Impressive Covid 19 Regulations and Sanitising followed in the Pub by Staff and Hand gels placed in all areas).
Lovely time here! I went here the other night with a couple of mates, with covid restrictions in place we were only allowed to sit outside but with a jacket on it was a lovely set up. Drinks were not too expensive with location considered. For a single JD & coke, double JD & coke and a pint it came to around £15. Shuts at 10pm and you are (currently) required to tap in on the NHS covid app and you can order from your phone. You can choose to pay by cash or card and individually or as a group. Although it was pretty busy, there was enough space around our table to not feel like others were encroaching on our space.
Came with the family and enjoyed a lovely meal and some drinks, very simple and enjoyable. Both the food and drinks were great and am looking forward to coming back when the family next get together (half live in North Germany in an area called Schleßwig-Holstein so it won't be soon unfortunately). Service was great and friendly, can't recall the name too brilliantly but a young girl named Ellen or Ellis (not quite sure) was a great waitress/barmaid was lovely to have around.

I visited this pub yesterday for the first time in ages. My word, have they got the pub well organised. Everyone has to wear a mask on entry and if they go to the toilet. This is standard practise at the moment, but everyone abided by it, which was encouraging to see. Ordering drinks was easy via an app that had the details attached to your table. I literally waited no more than 2 minutes for my drink to be brought over by a member of staff (also wearing a mask). In these uncertain times I felt extremely safe at The Daylight Inn, and will make sure I visit again soon. I can’t recommend the pub enough.
Meet up with the girls and there were 5 of us. We all ordered food and 3 out of 5 meals were cold and sent back. The kitchen then sent out 3 meals again 2 luke warm and 1cold. The cold meal sent back. No appoligies and then came back so hot u could not touch the plate. Had to go back to the bar as there was no sauce for my steak and turned up half way through my meal. The table was not cleared when we finished . No customer service at all. No sorry or even a free glass of wine. Will not be going back or recommend to anyone else.

Excellent staff a very warm welcome when you walk in and during your stay. very warm and happy atmosphere in and out the pub premises. Drinks are at a good price, the food is amazing. Especially with the new menu being brought out today. Definitely would recommend . The outside garden is a lovely place to sit and chill out with your mates, especially with the heaters. The family zone and the adult zone is a brilliant idea so families can have time to themselves away from all the nose. Close to train-line and busses.
What a smashing pub. Everyone is friendly from staff to customers. There's a Covid 21s inside policy and we were meeting friends with small children for Sunday walk and food. After an email flurry to see if we could still go we turned up and sat outside. The menu is extensive with loads of veggie and vegan options too. Portion sizes are generous so beware but what great pub food (including the vegan) and again, lovely staff and atmosphere. Great day out but next time we'll walk and then eat....
Really like this pub but the reason for this review is because of one young dark haired girl behind the bar. You will instantly k ow by the piercings, she is rude, obnoxious, and unpleasant. Has zero customer service skills whatsoever. I was served the wrong drink so asked for a replacement, apparently this according to the bar maid was correct and no replacement was necessary. It was the wrong drink. I drink it regularly so I know. I appreciate they are busy but no need for the attitude.
Absolutely amazing pub. Very reassuring that they are taking all COVID-19 advice very seriously. Face masks being worn, staff always disinfecting all surfaces as well as strict social distancing in place. All of this made me feel very safe, and the staff and managers are extremely friendly and happy to help. Service was quick and food was delicious. I had drunken mushrooms and a burger and both hot and very tasty. Will definitely be returning, and recommending to friends and family.
Good pub, several outside seating areas, inside is spacious with plenty of tables tucked into corners. Lots of windows, so it's nicely lit. Friendly bar and door staff. Good value very tasty foods, and a selection of good beers, some rather nice spirits available too. There's a parking lot attached to the pub, so if you're just stopping for a meal it's handy to drive. Please don't drink and drive! There are busses and trains within easy staggering distance at chucking out time too
KEN GORMAN Great pub, great food at reasonable prices! By far the best pub in the area. Friendly staff - always welcoming! Look forward to my next visit!

An absolutely friendly place to be. Staff are very welcoming on arrival and polite. Very supportive whilst completing work on site and helpful when needed. Offered plenty of tea and coffee whilst working. Fantastic food and found the place very clean and tidy in the bar area, kitchen and cellar to complete all works that needed to be carried out on site. Thanks to all bar staff and managers. Regards. We had our annual Petts Wood Cricket Club AGM meeting here, we was well looked after, excellent service from all staff and lovely atmosphere. We were lucky enough to be given the function room at the back which was very large and private. Would definitely recommend speaking to the Daylight Inn staff for any meeting required for social/sporting clubs. Thank You Daylight Inn!

I am retired and don't live in Petts Wood so I mostly visit The Daylight Inn around certain weekday lunchtimes after shopping in nearby Morrisons, especially when waiting for a train home to Beckenham. I have to say the staff there are excellent, they are always friendly and very efficient and I often let a couple of trains go so that I can have another relaxing drink in there. For me definitely worth 5 stars.
Friendly and helpful Staff and Ian and Elaine as manager's are fantastic and friendly too, who will accommodate the best they can, great selections of food and drink, good for sport's on 2 big screens and 1 small screen, great local pub and a decent sized function room, couldn't ask for a better local pub than the Daylight Inn Pub in Petts Wood and surrounding areas. Can't recommend this pub highly enough.
Recently visited The Daylight Inn since all the COVID restrictions have been put in place and I can say that the daylight are following all the rules correctly and keeping to the social distancing. This is why it’s one of my favourite pubs to visit in the local area as others aren’t putting in as much effort to keep to there customers and stuff safe! Would definitely recommend to friends and family members
In these strange times, I am amazed how well staff at the Daylight Inn cope with the ever changing regulations. There is so much respect for customers, who in turn obey all of the directives. The staff soon tell them if they do not. It can get a bit loud as groups of people who are segregated want to chat with their mates. We done Ian and Elaine and all of your team, I feel totally safe and protected.
Had my leaving drinks here before I moved abroad. My dad who is quite particular about the manners of bar staff couldn't get over how friendly and accommodating the staff were when he was enquiring about what products they sold. Whilst I'm no longer in the area my dad has said he will definitely be going back without me, especially for their great selection of whiskey.
We use the Daylight’s function room every week for a business networking meeting. The staff are helpful and welcoming. As we are there it would be rude not to stop for the occasional working lunch, and I have to say I haven’t been disappointed. I had a particularly lovely wrap that I will be revisiting soon. - Chris Bensted, Your friendly local Business Coach
Nice enough pub on a busy Friday night. There is however a spectacular disconnect between the website and what is actually available. When we asked for the drinks menu that was on the website, we were told in the strongest common accent that "there ain't one" and they've "neva done cocktails". The owners may want to have a look at their marketing material....
Popped in for a quick drink with a couple of friends, but ended up staying until closing! The manager on duty was very friendly and bar staff were very quick and attentive, especially Ellis, who recommended a great wine. Great prices, and a lovely evening had by all. Highly recommended

Lovely large pub at the centre of Petts Wood. The recent refit has been done well and kept the traditional feel of the listed building. The staff are friendly, welcoming and efficient and its well managed. There's a beautiful function room available to hire for events. It's my local but it's great to have this fine pub at the heart of our community.
A not to be repeated experience Why have printed menus on the table when no more than half of the items are available (not everybody is totally dependent on a mobile phone)? The food itself has room for improvement. The late evening smoking area does not allow glasses. A pub that feels the need to have bouncers on the door is not the place for me.
We reseved a table for a family meal and Elaine the land lady was so helpful about our booking and where we sat. The food was great and enjoyed by us all . The staff checked to see everything was ok with our food and cleared the table quickly after finishing. It was a pleasure to have a meal where we could enjoy the food and hear each other talk.
Great place to watch footy with friends. Friendly staff and management team. Super fast drink service from the mobile bar team with their Ipads - who order you your drinks from your table. Found Lisa extremely personable and very hard working always with a lovely smile. Thank you Daylight team for all your hard work in these difficult times.
Wasn't a very good visit for us...pub was busy as there was a football match playing on the big screen in the bar area...also the drinks prices £11.70 ,for a pimms/ pint of bitter! It's getting to expensive to drink local maybe I'll try the cheaper option next time.

I often come in this pub after work, definitely one of the best looking pubs around. Food is very good and drinks are reasonable prices. Bar staff are always ready to serve you and will always answer any questions you have. I would recommend having a pint here! Also the rubarb and custard shots are amazing. Ice cold and great tasting!
Amazing pub!!!!!! Great atmosphere inside and outside, as in great smoking area both front and back, you can't take drinks outside the back which is understandable Bar staff were on point plenty of hands to pour pints and cocktails if that's what your after Been here loads of times and everytime ends up a belter Big up the daylight
Always a good atmosphere here, some screens too for sporting events. Update 2022 - Still a nice venue but paid £11.60 for two shandies yesterday. That's essentially full price (£5.80 per pint) for two halves of beer topped up with lemonade from the tap. Steep - sorry but price is an element and I'm docking a star for now.
Had a blinding pint after golf and a nice bit of food too. Friendly staff, and plenty of big screens for the sport. Been coming to this boozer since the mid 90's and always exceeds expectation. Has been well preserved and I hope it stays for many decades to come as a main stay in the pub game

Nice spacious pub with an efficient management team who oversee the smooth running of the establishment. The staff are all extremely friendly and helpful, ensuring an excellent service even at times when the place gets really busy. Even though I personally have not eaten .here, the food appears to be very popular
Have been coming to the Daylight for over 20 years, from illegal teenager too in denial middle aged woman. Was so impressed with Alex W tonight on the bar, really nice guy, remembered my order when I came back to the bar, was serving multiple people at once... a real credit to the bar trade, give him a pay rise!

Sadly we weren't allowed in at lunchtime today (a party of 6) due to the youngest member being 19! A policy of over 21 seems to apply here. Such a shame as we just wanted to celebrate my Father in laws birthday at a family lunch. Never mind over the road to Wetherspoons. Perfect! Had a fantastic lunch.
Sorry, I had a bad experience yesterday! I order burger and chips and was told it would take 20 minutes, then a young bar girl said it will take 1hour and went on saying there is only one chef working and also we are very busy, as if it was my fault. Was not impressed! Good selection of beer though.
We only popped in for a quick drink but ended up staying. The atmosphere was relaxed but fun and the staff were amazing. Nothing was to much trouble, especially Emily, who catered to our every need with a smile. I will definitely be back x

The Daylight is easily my favourite pub in Petts Wood, whether I want a quick drink after work or a night out this is my go to! The service is always great and so is the atmosphere. There is also a nice family section so you can take your little ones! Highly recommend!
Lovely pub, friendly staff and very attentive. Food came quick and was delicious. Good value for money Would definitely go there for an evening meal. The atmosphere was lively with groups of people chatting or out for a meal. Plenty of seats to sit down and very clean
Great pub with clear safety measures since COVID, which made it both enjoyable to come to and feel safe doing so. Staff were attentive and helpful - quick service and friendly. Excellent menu had options for everyone. Booking online was simple so will come back soon!
Great food, good selection of drinks, reasonable prices. A nicely decorated pub, with plenty of tables to choose from. The bar staff are always friendly and welcoming. A nice place to go for a few drinks and a bite to eat, tables outside are a plus in the summer.
Me and my husband spent a couple of hours in this great pub yesterday before we we went back home to birmingham We found the staff very friendly and welcoming and we loved the atmosphere, we will definitely be coming here again next time we are in petts wood .
The best place in Petts Wood for a drink, been going here every week for the past 5 years. Loads of room, fast and friendly bar service (especially from Ian), good selection, always showing the best sports. Wouldn’t go anywhere else in the Bromley area.

Customers laughing historically all the time - draw your own conclusions on that! You can change the decor, but not the clientele. Better places to go in this area with a much larger food menu that doesn’t have most things unavailable most of the time.
Well priced, but our children's meal (burger) was rather dry and the chips on 2 of the 3 plates were cold when they arrived. The burgers for the adults were tasty. Only one high chair available. Good for a last minute lunch, but unlikely to go back.
Recently went into my local, the Daylight Inn, had a great evening, staff super friendly, not overly expensive, sat outside with our dog, young staff all chatty and friendly enjoyed our evening.

We have used this place a lot. Tonight it was really bad. Hubby and I are oldies. We cannot do scanning table codes. Hubby waited at the bar for 15 minutes to order food for us and was ignored and walked past by the staff. We won't be going back.
Looks really nice since it's been refurbished. The only issue is the last 3 times I've been up there for a meal there's been no chicken wing sharer option available for myself and my son! Might be worth taking off the menu if it's not available?
Lovely pub, friendly staff, but probably the worst sharing nachos I've ever had. Cold chicken, soft nacho chips and a weird cheese sauce without flavour. The only flavour came from the salsa and the chillies. Will not be ordering this again.

This is a truly splendid establishment. Petts Wood Cricket Club booked a room for the AGM. We always receive a friendly welcome and are provided with excellent service. The landlady, Elaine, is a total gem! Wonderful!
Had a lovely walk through the woods followed by a welcome meal and drinks at the Daylight lnn. Never been here before but a nice friendly atmosphere and our son said he’d ‘highly recommend’ the Scampi and Chips!
Lovely pub, we first went here in our teens back in the 90s and it's just gotten better. Food was superb and the staff friendly, with decent selection of beers. Also plenty of big screens for the sporting fix.

Decent pub but the quality of the beer really lets it down. Not the first time ive been served flat beer and they really need to up their game. Seemed to be the case for a few different brands sold on tap.
Nice pub, nice food, but if your designating the smallest area for families why let people without children sit there. There's only 5 tables, which aren't particularly family friendly in the first place.
Horrible experience today very rude staff, had a bad experience here a while ago but gave the Benefit of the doubt, but feels like a new normal. Been coming to this pub for years but sadly won’t again….

Since the refurbishments it seems a pub of two halves - and the family side of the pub is a huge improvement. Larger, more attractive outside seating and a new menu that has some really good choices.
Ordering drinks was easy using the app especially during the busy football game on Tuesday. Also good to see staff enforcing masks and covid safety. Great atmosphere and service for a great evening
Sometimes a bit too busy, especially with sporting events, but that's not something to complain about. The staff are very attentive and friendly. Feels like they mean it when they ask how you are.
Nice pub just outside Petts Wood railway station. The pub is huge and has ample of place to sit inside and outside. Family dining is allowed but have restricted timings. Overall a nice experience
Went on a Fri early evening before the rush. Food lovely and special thanks to the chef who actually came out to check on allergies my friend had. Bar staff great. Mark particularly helpful
