My last exam was 4 years ago and I didn't want to go to the same place so I chose Dental Centre bc of a cat named Duchess. I left an appointment request over the weekend and on Tuesday received a call to schedule and Wednesday I had an appointment with Dr. Fan! I liked that I was able to be seen so quickly, I had no time to freak out however I was offered later appointments as well, variety, spice of life. I have not been going anywhere but the grocery store because of the virus and honestly I was pretty scared not knowing how things were going to be different. I"m glad I woke up late and had to run out my door I would have wasted my time worrying for naught. It was very clean inside, there are marked spots for SD and the now familiar plexiglass guards and they told me exactly where to stand, I never know what to do now, where to stand, having somebody to tell me was so nice. I was greeted warmly and filled out my paperwork only bc I forgot to do it before. Tori took me to get my x-rays all the while being friendly and explaining what was happening, she definitely is an asset to that office! When Dr Fan came in he took the time to chat, I mentioned how crazy things are nowadays which of course we all agreed on and I found having the doctor and assistant and FD staff addressing the weirdness give me more confidence in the entire office. Tori really is great. After my exam Dr Fan told me what he thought my plan of action should be and why, he could have looked and left but he didn't. Not delegating that to someone else is awesome so that I could ask questions and it made me feel important. I go back tomorrow (one day later, woohoo!) for the first part of my treatment plan, the costs were explained to me by Vanessa I believe, another really nice person, seriously Dr Fan you have a great staff take care of them, and in addition to all this I was given a goody bag (dental theme) and the treatment plan estimate was emailed to me which I'd already forgotten and they wrote me reminders because I have the worst memory! I will update this tomorrow after Mark cleans my teeth and in a few more weeks because I'm finally getting a new bite guard, yay oh yay oh yay!!! Needless to say I'd totally recommend scaredy cats to come here and if you're worried about dental work in the time of Covid there is no need to if you come here!!

No issues with Dr. Fan except for I can't believe he tolerates the rude front staff and keeps those brats employed and he changed my appt last minute to a more convenient time for himself. This shows a lack of respect for people and a lack of care. Vanessa and Mirna are terrible for starters. Booked my appt. a few weeks ago. Mirna called me the day of my appointment in the morning and change my apt time from 6 to 5pm. I informed her I had already requested off and it had been approved and I could not change it last minute. I asked why did the doctor wait until the last minute? She laughed on the phone and said this happens all the time and then tried to cancel my apt. Super rude and she is the office manager. If the patient cancelled last minute they would charge you. But they cancel on you because the dentist prob had no appts and wanted to go home early. I should have walked away but I asked for more time off to go to the appt. I checked me in and Vanessa was super rude and dismissive. Tried to charge me for my consult when my insurance covered it. Would not take my insurance paperwork and the dentist had to step in. Then didnt tell me to bring my other dentists xrays to my appt to have a productive appt. Was aggresive with me when I signed in because she offered me a pen and I told her I had my own. Was aggressive and rude taking my temperature and tried to touch the thermometor to my forehead. Would not take my insurance paperwork that covered my appt. Total incompetence and lack of respect. How is she still employed ? Dr. Fan has written on other people reviews who have commented on how rudde Vanessa is and that they will discuss the behavior.. but she is still there treating patients badly. Can't believe it!!!! So since Dr. Fan obviosuly supports this behavior I cannot get work done at this office. Front staff either make or break your practice! I can see from others reviews on Vanessa and Mirna that others have experienced their rude behavior yet he continues to employ these spoiled brats. Taking my business to a place with better staff and dentist that hold staff accountable. I will have to call my insurance tomorrow since I never got a second opinion since the doctor was unprepared for my appt. I was in and one in 15 minutes, thanks for nothing.

Recently found this dental office online because I was looking into Candid aligners. When I called I specifically mentioned to the receptionist that I was wanting to come in for Candid. Maybe this was my fault but she did not set any expectations or details on what to expect - cost of the scans and that she was scheduling me for xrays and a dental exam. I understand they would want to check that I have no cavities and such before getting the aligners, but I felt dumb when I was there because the dental assistant after taking my x rays was going to go straight into a cleaning. I had to stop him and tell him I was there for Candid. So he proceeded to do the scans instead. Then one of the Ortho/Dentist- I don't know what he was but came and told me I was a candidate and it could help - he was nice but was super vague.. I thought that was they consult but no. After that the front desk/care coordinator told me I had to come back to do the scans and consult because one of the doctors wasnt there and it would take 3 weeks.. not knowing I had done the scans already. It was evident the staff hadn't communicated. Turns out, I had to wait for Candid to receive the scans, which can take 1-2 weeks and I had to look out for an email to schedule the consultation so they could tell me the treatment time. Almost two weeks later their care coordinator texted me and said I had to go in and redo one of the scans. I was so annoyed at this point and asked for a refund, to which the coordinator told me I had to talk to the manager for the refund, but then not even 20 seconds later when I tried to clarify/confirm that I could get a refund she said, "yes like we already discussed" and I said,"when?" She proceeds to say that she had already discussed me getting a refund as an option with the manager??? Just weird, but in the end, I got my refund for the scans($300). Compared to other reviews this seems unusual, so maybe I just caught them on a bad day. But I had a terrible experience here and it's disappointing because this office has the best price for Candid aligners. I ended up going with Invisalign instead.

I went in for a deep cleaning and was given an estimate of $317 at my initial consult for both sides of my mouth. The next day my mouth was sore and I continued to take Ibuprofen on the third day my symptoms were worse to the point that my PCP recommend me to call them and speak to some I did and they said it was maybe taking more time for me to heal so I continued to take the Ibuprofen. On day four my mouth was in so much pain it hurt for me to speak and my entire mouth was in pain. I called to the office and was informed someone would call me back waited all day until the afternoon no one called me back. I had to go to the office to get help luckily Dr. Fan was at the front desk and the young lady who helped me turned to him to ask for medical advise. I waited some time before doing the other half of my mouth since insurance only allows one side at a time. When I went in for the cleaning I was charged another $292 on top of my initial estimate for the entire cost of treatment. I disputed this with the young lady who checked me out. I told her I did not bring in my Care Credit card to pay and told her I would call them. I called two days later left a voicemail message for the office manager to further dispute my charges who I never received a call back from. Last night while making a payment to my Care Credit Card I saw that they took it upon them selves to charge the additional cost of $292. So today I will continue to dispute the charges and we'll see what happens. At this point I would not recommend them and just want to get my billing situated at but I will not be returning for any additional service

I had an unpleasant experience with the scheduling system and office staff here. I booked the appointment initially with ZocDoc and it was automatically cancelled without reason. I called into the office and explained the situation and just booked an appointment over the phone. I received a call from the a staff member on the date of my appointment to be informed that I had missed my appointment. I apologized and after reviewing my calendar I realized that I had a different time schedule than what the woman told me. I called back to ask if there was some sort of scheduling error and the woman told me that I agreed to rescheduling to another time. I told her that I didn't recall doing this and she said that remembered the specific conversion when this interaction occurred and implied that I was lying. She was very rude about the error and made me feel uncomfortable. I cancelled the appointment altogether since I didn't like the way she treated me.

1st time and looking for to the next time. I have had 3 dentist in my life and the longest one was for 20+ years. After she retired it was a bit tough finding someone that was professional, honest, and had good skills. Also, a place that made things easy and clear communication. Did a in-dept review for top dentist near by along with within my insurance and this was my top choice based on reviews and overall upfront experience. Dr. Fan and Mark made me feel weclome and it was just an overall easy no headache check up and cleaning. All the new equipment and very informative. Also, the music is nice to have since most places force you to listen to their playlist or sometimes the news/commericals. Feel confident to test this place out for yourself if you are in the hunt. I will be bringing my family here. They don't like dentist, so that means alot!

Dentist was great and got me out of a painful tooth. However, there was no clarity on pricing and got a sticker shock when my procedure was ~$100 higher than quoted. Btw I got an examination and one filling and they charged me $535. I questioned the pricing since I thought it would be closer to $440 and the receptionist started to get defensive and rude. I calmly asked her to talk to the lady that quoted me and continued to get rude treatment until they said “oh we charged you for XYZ ” which I didn’t approve or know about. So they changed my bill and it went back to $435. All in all pretty high for a filling but it’s worth it if my tooth doesn’t hurt.

Dr Jack Fan is excellent. I am very picky about dentists and new to Austin. So was busy with my research who to choose as my dentist. I went in today to see what to do with my wisdom tooth which was partially fixed but in Europe (can’t fly back now). Right diagnosis, very friendly team, got a teeth cleaning, check of all the teeth on by one, exact explanation what needs to happen which I 100% agree with and a concrete plan how and when to fix all. My usual dentist is in Europe and my second dentist - in Asia as I travel a lot but Dr Fan convinced with his confidence and competency today. 5*!

Courteous, efficient, and thoroughly professional. Dr. Fan is personable and good about sharing informatioñ about my dental condition. I have confidence in his skill. Office staff are courteous and easy to work with Only negative comment is about the relentless appointment reminders via email and text that begin more than a week out and continue up to the day of the appointment. Really annoying, as if the threat of a $50 charge for missed appointment weren't an onerous enough demonstration of the greed that is all too common in the medical business.

The Dental Centre provides straight forward dental care. I went for a cleaning and that's what I got. The doctor noted a cavity and that it appeared larger than what was pictured in my earlier Xray. My teeth were polished and that was that. I left after making an appointment to fill the cavity. Update: had my first cavity filled at the Dental Centre. I was surprised at how quickly it was completed. I felt no discomfort during and never had to take any Tylenol later for residual pain. I'm a happy customer. Again very efficient and professional.

It went very well everybody's so nice there and they take their time to explain what they're going to be doing and for why they're doing it and they explain everything that's going to be going on by the time they're finish with the work if anybody would ask me if I know a good dentist or to have replacements teeth put on I will highly recommend your place thank you for all your patience with me and for everything you do everyday and God bless everyone in there to be healthy strong and safe and out of Harm's Way thank you so much Maria Yanez

My experience with Dr. Fan and Dr. Shirley were wonderful. They are both so very gentle that what can usually be a tortured experience was as pleasant as could be. They also had state of the art equipment and some handy tricks to help make it go smoothly. I had crowns put in and fillings. Dr Shirley also got my retainer exactly right the first time and no tweeking was necessary. I highly recommend this dentist office and will be returning for all my dental needs. Jann Cross

Not a perfect five due to the receptionist at the front desk. Two ladies, but one in particular was not. Customer oriented. The other one was very happy with smiles and greeted you, but when I made my appointment, the other one hardly gave me a look, and when I asked me what date, I said March and she was silent like waiting for additional information for me. Her communication skills was poor. I describe these people who do not like their job, but picking up a paycheck. .

Everyone at The Dental Centre is great! I feel that they really care about my tooth and gum health and they all do a terrific job! I'm very pleased with the service and care I receive! I went again today (09/13/2023) to get my teeth cleaned, and you talk about gentle dental, absolutely painless...I didn't feel a thing! Dr. Jack Fan's the man, he came with a plan. You can try all the rest but Jack Fan's the best! Also, FYI...Mark does a phenomenal job!!!

I had a bit of an emergency need this morning. When I called for a last minute visit with Dr. Fan, the sweet young lady was able to work me in! I got in early and was seen and out before my appointment time. Dr. Fan checked out my issue, assured me it wasn’t bad, as I had been thinking the worst, and it would clear up on its own..He is so easy to talk to and so understanding! If you are in need of a dentist don’t hesitate to come to the Dental Center.

I like that it is very to the point and I don’t get a sales job on things I am not interested in. Don’t get me wrong, when I inquired about whitening, they had an affordable solution that was done quickly. the results were exactly what I asked for. Since my last visit., I lost a small cosmetic filling on one my forward teeth, Fan fixed it on the fly as charged me very little for the repair. Again, a no nonsense service with great, professional work.

I began with Dr Persky and really liked him, However, it was time for him to retire and Dr. Jack Fan took over the business. I could not have been more pleased. From the receptionists, to the dental hygienists, to Dr. Fan himself, they have been noting but professional and caring. Fair billing, explains the issue, compassionate but pragmatic. Been with The Dental Centre for over 10 years, and will continue for as long as I need dental service.

I trust this dentist and came here after leaving Brush 32 on S Lamar. They were a private equity owned business that was always up selling me. The Dental Centre has been honest and always done what they said they would do on time. I had a filling today on a tooth that my previous dentist told me had to be extracted and replaced with a fake tooth! My wife referred me to The Dental Centre and I highly recommend them to everyone.

This is the best dentist in Austin, tx, and the staff is so friendly. My adult son and I both go here. We both have a lot of dental anxiety due to past experiences, and this dentist is patient, kind, and compassionate. He makes it the best dental experience. My son couldn't stop talking about how happy he was with his appointment, and after my appointment today went so well, I'm not even afraid to go to the dentist anymore.

I was looking forward to getting my husband in for an appointment but ended up canceling because of the poor customer service I experienced on the phone with Vanessa. She was very rude both times I spoke to her. I’m sure this place has great reviews from the doctor and his clinical team but they may need to re-assess their front staff. I hope no one else experiences the same treatment I received!

The Dental Centre staff is where it’s at and the quality of service is five stars. The office is super cleans and went above and beyond for COVID precautions. My cleanings were always super thorough and i never had any issues with any of the work done - which is great. I’ve recently had to move and now unfortunately can’t find an office like this one. The bar was set high.

Today I finally got my denture. At first it doesn’t feel comfortable. After Dr Fan patiently adjusting it a few times on the spot, it feels natural. For the past two months, Today it’s the first time I have teeth. Feels so good. I don’t need to wear masks anymore. Now I just need to learn how to chew with my new “teeth”. Thank you Dr Fan and your nice team members!

The lady that was my hygienist was superbly awesome. I commented to her that "all the years that I have been going there, this was the most pleasant experience". I complimented to her about her gentleness and professionalism. She actually took my BP..which hasn't been done in a long time..years. I would like that to be my hygienist every time I have an appt.

Everyone here was so nice and inviting. The hygienist was very gentle yet thorough. The doctor was very helpful and willing to listen to me and my needs. Also very reasonably priced with my insurance. I was surprised at the amount for the amount of work I need. Safe to say I will never be going back to Castle Dental. Thank you Dental Centre.

Wow! What an amazing and totally Austin experience! Mark, my hygienist was friendly, interesting and informative. Both he and Dr.Fan were very gentle and made me feel comfortable. The front desk staff is A++ also. I work for a doctor myself and have high expectations. Dr. Fan and staff exceeded my expectations! I have found my dentist!

I had two teeth extracted on Monday and the left side of my bottom lip is still numb. Now the stitches are coming loose and I’m not sure if that’s what is supposed to happen since these stitches aren’t supposed to be removed until Dec 11th, so giving this a four star review might be a little generous but we will see.

I have been Dr Fan's patient for almost a decade. He always provides excellent service. He and his staff are very professional. Never pushes for any unnecessary procedures. Shares all the info with the patient and then lets the patient decide. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for no-hassle dental care.

Our family loves Dr. Persky and his office staff! They're friendly and knowledgeable, and happy to go into detail about whatever procedures we may need. They're wonderful with squeezing us in for any emergency work we need taken care of, and are always prompt to return our calls and address any concerns we may have.

As someone who has been burned before by dentists and who has dental anxiety, I cannot tell you how grateful I am for this dentist. They are patient, efficient, and overall incredibly kind. I had a moler tooth removed today and I'm a huge wimp when it comes to pain. Honest to god, I felt zero pain. I had to ask if the tooth was already out because I didn't feel it removed. 100% professional and super friendly staff. I highly recommend this place.
