This is a holistic spa, and to be honest I was skeptical at first (because I'm always skeptical of "woo-type things"). However, I am happy to report that I was dead wrong. I don't know about chakras or energy or karma or what-have-you, but no one can convince me that what I experienced at this spa wasn't demonstrably beneficial! I got the Dragontree Massage package which included a Swedish massage with aromatherapy and a foot soak. This was my first time getting a professional massage, so I was nervous and unsure of how to conduct myself. It was smooth sailing from the moment I walked in. Everyone did an excellent job of shepherding me through the process, including the two kind ladies at the front desk. Two things really impressed me: First, the dressing room. Before and after your massage you can spend time in a beautiful dressing room with hot showers, a dry spa, and all the toiletries you might need. Lotion, oils, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, you name it. All of the toiletries are very high quality as well. However, the thing that impressed me most was the availability of hair oil and a stronger holding spray. These were perfect for my ethnic hair! I am of mixed race, and my hair is VERY curly. I have never - EVER - been to a space with products that work for my hair. I've been to tons of hotels, resorts, and locker rooms which always have products available for "normal" (i.e, European) hair. I don't wash my hair in these spaces because I know they won't have the products I need. Without a decent holding spray and oil, washing my hair leaves it dry, brittle and tangled. Having these products here meant I could wash my hair like everyone else. It meant so much to me. Second, my massage therapist Rob. He was SO skilled, and even now (the next day) I can still feel the effects of his work. My entire body feels so much lighter. The Swedish massage was TRANSCENDENT. I didn't know my body was capable of feeling so good! I felt almost embarrassed by how good it felt! I am in awe at how effective his methods were. It felt like he knew my body better than I do. I guess I just didn't realize how intensely good a massage could feel. It made me want to learn massage therapy so I could make people feel that way too. The Dragontree's mission statement says they want to, "Create a more peaceful world through more peaceful individuals." Rob embodies that mission through his work. On my way home from The Dragontree, someone cut me off in traffic. I couldn't have cared less. I felt like everything would be okay no matter what. Thank you, Rob!

This review is in regards to one of the people who works here. I used to work at the same place as Sherri, one of the estheticians as this spa but didn’t work directly with her. Unfortunately because the store we worked at was so small, I witnessed a lot of things and heard things that I wish I hadn’t. If you want an experience with someone who isn’t two-faced, hateful and enjoys creating division, hopefully you’re able to get one of the other estheticians at this spa. Otherwise, this woman will probably talk behind your back and curse about how awful you are as soon as you step out the door. This woman had an awful scowl glued on her face and when she wasn’t putting on a show for customers, she had frequent temper tantrums, creating a hostile work environment and would spend her time gossiping about her coworkers. I’ve literally heard 5 people she’s worked with complain about her when in the break room and people tried to get her fired but weren’t able to because she was good enough at pretending to care when the manager was watching. She also was self-righteous about her job as a “healer.” I am completely for healing work and have been blessed by the work of Reiki healers, astrologers and other kinds of readers. All of these people were at a place spiritually where they helped raise the vibration and pull me to a higher place. This snake oil saleswoman acted like she was the only person who could do her craft of Reiki. I watched her harass and bully another person at the store who told her she was learning Reiki too and she literally hissed at her and called her silly. Another employee worked in the store told me everyone dealt with her because they felt bad for her. Dragontree seems like an excellent spa and looks absolutely beautiful but hopefully they get rid of this awful woman. I was going to come here to get a facial but chose not too because I’d rather go somewhere where there’s positive, loving energy.

I booked a girls day at the spa for a friend and myself. I told them that I was treating her and I would drop her off, run some errands then meet up with her in the spa. She was treated very well and had a fantastic experience. I on the other hand was treated very poorly. When I arrived I was told that I could sit in the waiting room even though my friend was sitting in the spa waiting for me. It wasn't until I pressed them to sit with my friends that they said, "well you can go in there to meet your friend." When I asked about getting a robe and slippers like my friend I was told that I didn't need them for the treatment I was getting. Their tone implied that I was not getting an expensive enough treatment to warrant a robe and slippers. I sat with my friend in my street clothes for a bit, but it felt very uncomfortable and my friend wanted the two of us to go in the sauna. I asked about going in the sauna and getting a robe and I was told that there would be a $10 fee. I said "fine" and I was fairly rudely given a robe and key. My friend and I had a nice visit in the sauna, we were taken for our foot massages, foot baths, and spa lunch which were all fantastic. My total bill for the day came to about $250, so I believe for that amount of money they should have treated me much better, and they should have had the common courtesy to shut the curtain between the front desk and the spa seating area so we didn't hear every word spoken at the front desk. Despite the amazing massages we received, I will be taking our next girl's day to someplace where we will be treated better and have a higher caliber ambiance.

I LOVE this spa and need to visit again soon. Stepping into The Dragontree is to quite literally enter an oasis after trudging through the bustle of NW Portland's Alphabet District. The dark, rich, warm colors, low lighting, glowing candles and welcoming front desk staff all set the tone as you move through the main lobby. And it always smells delicious, to boot! Plush seating, complimentary tea and natural skin/beauty products lining the wall make this space a comfort and experience of its own. Once you're taken back to your treatment and you move deeper into this urban sanctuary, you're inspired to leave the rest of the world entirely behind. Head on back to the clean, well-stocked and well-decorated locker rooms complete with shower and sauna, or start your services in the community Sangha Room where richly colored sofas line the wall and patrons melt into footbaths and head-neck-shoulder treatments. I've been part of a few group spa parties in the Sangha Room and with food and tea service, trust me, you cannot go wrong here. Private treatment rooms glow with a calming aura, welcoming you to relax into your skilled practitioners hands. I've personally had some of the best massage and skincare treatments at The Dragontree and delightfully look forward to the next services I book. I was apprehensive about getting a massage. I have pretty bad fibromyalgia, bad disks in my back and neck, and more tension than an overcooked slab of beef. The instant we walked in, the staff was very relaxed and wasn't bothered explaining how it all worked. There is complementary tea, seeds, and cucumber water. In the massage, the person asks what areas I needed help with, and she worked on those areas. It was warm and cozy, and I think I about fell asleep a few times. Which, is a very telling sign that this is quite a relaxing experience. When that was all done, we (my bestie and I) were given a really nice foot bath. Toward the end of the bath, they offer a peppermint spray, which isn't for everyone. If you're generally fine with sudden cold, and have controlled reflexes, you'll likely find it really lovely. At the end, you're given a neat little scrub brush to keep and a personalized message is written in a card. If I can afford it again next year, I know where I'll be going. I do sort of wish there was something like an onsen also, but that's okay. I still thoroughly enjoyed myself.

I am grateful for the opportunity to work here. It was my first job out of massage school. I don't know what management. Is like now, hopefully much better... as well as cleaning up the appropriated practices that are expensive and misaligned... leaving employees who are often having trouble making bills unless they work doubles... ect. They need to pay their spa attendants and front desk and workers in general much better. And find ways to learn from the experts o. How to create a safe workplace environment... and pay the people for their labor without shaming or trying to force them to do something that isn't comfortable. Exploiting their lived experiences or even culture for more profits. If management was more involved, then it would likely make a big difference. Of the 3 years that I worked there... I never met brainna once... and the manager that I did work with would cuss at me, slam doors, and made employees scared with his behavior. I hope that real healing can begin to happen here and real accountability. Thank you for giving me space to begin.

We took a short roadtrip to Lake Oswego for my birthday and I spent a few hours at the Dragontree. I selected the Shakti package and it did not disappoint. Jennifer did an amazing custom facial and brow wax. My aging skin has never looked and felt so good. Cory gave me the massage that I really needed. He has a firm hand and it was perfect to get all the knots out. He really listened and focused on my trouble areas. He also gave me a relaxing scalp massage instead of on my face since I had just had a facial. The gals giving the foot baths were hard at work! I felt like a queen sitting on the comfy couch on the dias. The hot milk bath is just divine. It was all the special touches that made the experience extra special..neck wrap while having foot bath, the facial steam and hot packs before the massage, the essential oil foot spray after the bath, the low voices for a serene environment, fully stocked locker room, and plenty of cucumber water and min tea. Friendly staff to boot. Highly recommended.

3-4 years ago coworkers gifted me with a certificate, just enough for a massage and a glass of wine. At the time I was regularly going to a medical masseuse, so a therapeutic massage was very VERY different from what I was used to. Now, it has been 3 years since I stopped getting regular medical massages, and I think back on my experience at Dragontree. In hindsight, my only complaint is that their ceiling was ugly. The staff were pleasant, and the lady who worked on my calves was kind and accepting of my silence. After 30 cat-years, I am more keen on the idea of relaxing for relaxings sack, and plan on purchasing gift certificates for my coworkers to likewise visit Dragontree. I truly had an experience that I think on 3-4 years afterwards and I recommend giving this place a go. With all the being said... those ceilings @.@ It has been 5 years though, so it's entirely possible they have remodeled.

This review is for the online customer service. I placed an order January 4th for an online course. I have not received access and have contacted support by phone email and chat. I was able yesterday January 10th to speak to someone who said the issue was escalated and would be taken care of by end of day. Still nothing. Not one email response to my emails. Update to my review from 1* to 3* Though the experience was not pleasant, I was made aware the person in charge of online course management had an emergency and it is unfortunate her work was so overloaded. The review is now for the whole system in place as this person should have had some assistance to avoid the breakdown and the complete responsibility falling onto one person. Things happen and it is not this person's fault. The company simply needs to review the system in such circumstances.

I had an excellent experience at The Dragontree. I booked two Shakti experiences for a best friends spa day. The atmosphere is so very relaxing. It truly feels like a special retreat. We started with the steam spa which was heavenly- a great way to start! Then had a quick rinse in the lovely provided showers. They had an excellent selection of amenities: robes, slippers, hairbrushes, hair ties, hand lotion moisturizer, etc. Then we had a lovely milk bath foot soak. The attendant was very helpful and professional. I loved the hot aromatic rice pack for my neck and shoulders as well. The cucumber water and tea between treatments kept us hydrated between our custom facial and massage! All treatment providers were kind and professional. I loved the “no rush” feel of the place. Highly recommend and I will be back!

It's really tough for businesses right now. So when someone calls to try giving you more business, you would think you'd jump on it. Nope! Not at this spa. They clearly don't think outside the box. I was trying to give my credit card to upgrade an appointment as a gift (think CBD oil added to a deep tissue massage, upgrades within a standard appointment since that's all they're doing now). The appointment was made under my friend's mother's name, which I didn't know her name when I called. The woman on the phone could have easily taken my information (including the name of my friend), then when she checks in she can match the name to apply the upgrades to her appointment. Instead she kept insisting I was asking for client information, which I was not. Good luck! What a joke.

My friend and I booked a few spa services while on vacation in Portland. Our schedule was a bit complicated but handled wonderfully! Our Friday Swedish massages were both fantastic, and we looked forward to going back on Saturday. Unfortunately, the facial specialist was out sick, so our schedule got messed up, but with help from the spa staff, we sorted it out and were happy with the end result. We each had a footbath, then a head/neck/shoulder massage, and then I had a hand massage while my friend had a foot massage. It was luxurious, and we were treated warmly and professionally by everyone we encountered. Certainly the highlight of our trip (other then the other friends we visited, of course). Highly recommend, and I wish there was one in my town.

I went to Dragontree for a custom facial. My skin is actually very good, the aesthetician said my skin is like silk. There wasn’t anything in particular that I needed, except one thing. I requested the aesthetician to remove white heads that I have on my chin. I don’t know what she did but when I came home I noticed nothing was removed. All the white heads were still there. I was very disappointed so I called the same day to give my feedback. The lady on reception said she will talk to the team and will call me the next day. It has been over two weeks, I haven’t received any call from them. Clearly, they don’t care about the customers. I will definitely not go there again.

I recently had a 90min trigger point massage with Levi. Having a 90min massage is a bit of a treat for myself, and one that I don't get to indulge in very often. However, this was 100% worth the investment. Levi was amazing and the pressure was spot on (intense but bearable, exactly what I was looking for). Getting to experience the sauna before the massage was a great way to help me relax, and the whole staff was fantastic in making me feel welcome and taken care of. I know Dragontree isn't the cheapest place to get a message in Portland, but I believe that their experience is unbeatable. Oh, and definitely try the tea while you're there, always delicious!

This is more than just a massage parlor, it's an experience. From the shower and bathrooms stocked with toiletries to the robe and sandals to the sitting area stocked with tea and trail mix to the friendly staff that don't try to pressure you into buying more massages/specialty aromatherapy oils/snake oil, this place is perfect for relaxing. I received easily the best massage I've ever had. Who knew my asthma could cause a weird neck muscle to tighten or that massaging my jaw would help with my back pain? The pricing is maybe a little higher than your average chain massage place, but it's exponentially better. I left in a fuzzy haze of warm happiness.

A friend gave me some Dragon Tree Uplift Shower Gel and I love it! I am allergic to anything and everything with artificial dyes or fragrances and so I never get to use anything fancy. My friend assured me that this was all natural and made me promise to try it. With Benadryl nearby (I'm a skeptic), I tested it out and to my surprise...NO allergic reaction! My skin was smooth and silky and I smelled like rosemary, basil and peppermint the rest of the day :) If I ever find myself in Portland, I will be making an appointment for the spa...but until then, I'm grateful for online ordering! Thank you!

I got a Gift card from a work colleague I decided to get a facial as I had never had one professionally . It was simply wonderful better than I imagined. Part of the facial was hand and shoulder massage I got the Day dream facial which was 30 min and Julie who did my facial said full hour involves more massage. I felt completely comfortable and respected by all the staff. The atmosphere feels like a spiritually uplifting , tranquil and calming environment. I highly recommend this spa! I have been to a few spas and this is the best I have experienced

What a wonderful place with great service. Relaxing, calm, beautiful in the heart of a hot bustling city. A true oasis. The staff goes above and beyond to make you feel special. We had a scheduled massage that had to be canceled at the last minute due to a staffing issue. Not only did they rearrange their schedule to accommodate they generously compensated with free services that day. We ended having a very enjoyable experience. Quite the experience, we felt completely pampered and catered to! My fiance and I did the vday special. 60 minute Swedish full body massage, a 30 minute love foot bath with champagne and two truffle chocolates. Tips are not included and I feel absolutely terrible for not thinking of that, but we will be back and know the roll for next time! The whole atmosphere is relaxing and so zen. The ladies shower room is amazing as well. They have everything you need soaps, drier, hair ties, you name it! Fantastic shower!

Cory was absolutely awesome. The massage was intense (I'm recovering from an auto collision accident), but after seeing him for 90 minutes, I can turn my neck completely again. The lower back pain is gone. Only a few days have gone by and I'm almost all the way back to normal. Slept like a baby this week. Thank you so much! I want to continue seeing him but unfortunately he's not currently in my insurance's network. When I have the funds to pay out of pocket, I will be back. Keep him around! ✨️

Tina is a very talented esthetician. People, on more than one occasion, have commented on my face after a facial, none-the-wiser that I’ve had one, that my face looks “radiant” or that I’m “glowing.” Also. The staff is so accommodating and kind and helpful and consistent. The cedar sauna, the cucumber water, the trail mix, the robes, the decor, the music, the foot baths, those tester hygiene products in the ladies room, I could go on and on.

Cassidy put me right! Not going to list the hurdles I faced all September/Oct/Nov... But they left an effect on my body. She helped to wipe that slate clean, now I feel better positioned to keep carrying that weight from a tough fall and moving ahead. It's a welcoming space. Reservation was easy to make. I was greeted with a really thorough check-in. The facilities are very nice. No critical notes from me!

I like the zen spa atmosphere. I would love a little more direction though after a message, (such as mentioning the sauna, shower, etc.) Speaking of the shower, it's a great shower (lol) the rainfall kind. The sauna is quite small and they didn't have water available for it either. I dream of going here weekly but I'd be broke if I did. I do recommend this above anywhere else though. Heidi

One of the best spas in Portland. The ambiance is breathtaking and incredibly relaxing. Their robes feel like you are wearing a cloud and the sauna is amazing. Staff is kind and sweet too. As for the massage, it's so good I fall asleep each time and wake up a new person. Truly an experience I have reserved for myself every 3 months, because why not. Highly recommended spa!

Very attentive practitioners. Excellent massage, wonderful smells, nice and hot sauna. I loved the cold splash with the foot soak. My body and mind was in heaven. I also was not ready to leave when I was done and they had no problem with me sitting in the lobby and drinking tea while I mustered up the courage to step back into reality. My specialist was Tara and she was fantastic. I had a 90 minute muscle melt and I didn't want to leave. Tara was very attentive and made sure to check in often. Her service made the experience level's above what I was expecting. The sauna after all the knots were worked out was the best. Would highly recommend, also ask for Tara, she is amazing!

They have great ways of directing each client as they go through the process of making appointments, calling or texting when they get to the door, only 60 minutes massage for now :-) so they can do the extra cleaning time. Clients are separated easily one at a time in the waiting room sitting. One on the way out pain and checking out.

Katrina was very communicative and professional. I got exactly what I asked for as far as pressure and areas of focus. Amazing massage! The front desk staff was very professional, even helping me with some old gift cards to ensure they were updated and would work at a future date. I always have such a relaxing time at the Dragontree!

Booked a friends day while visiting Oregon and could not have been more satisfied. We started with the foot baths and then went into a 60-min swedish. I walked out of that room questioning my marriage because she was so in tune with my muscles, aches and pains. Would absolutely visit again and highly recommend. Rejuvenate your body.

Just stopped in to get a gift certificate for a client and would recommend you do the same rather than get one online. The gift card comes in an impressive and creative gift bag that is sure to impress. At least I was impressed and that happens rarely. I hope the services are on the same level and if so, everyone will be happy.

Top notch. Very calming, friendly and professional. I worked with Christopher and he did an amazing job at giving me a legitimate deep tissue massage. There's a sauna in the locker room, yes a bona fide locker room with a high class shower they even have all the man type amenities. I would gladly come back here again.

Get ready to crack your wallet open. This is not a value oriented experience. You are definitely paying for the decor, ambience, and location. That being said, it’s great for a couple’s date, especially like an anniversary. Go for the head to toe or foot treatment then get the side-by-side 90-min couple’s massage.

I've been to Dragontree twice now. It's really great. They have a massage table for pregnant women with the belly and breast cut-outs so you can comfortably lie on your belly for a massage! It's totally worth it to make a day of it and add on other services as well. I recommend the foot soak and the scalp massage!

I went here for a birthday spa day. I had never had a massage or facial before and I'm glad I went here for my first. This place is gorgeous and as soon as I walked in I was relaxed. Molly was my masseuse and she was wonderful. Jessica did my facial and I wish I could have stayed all day. I definitely recommend!

I love their massages and the in person interactions but I’ve called several times for help purchasing gift certificates abd the woman answering the calls is quite curt and unhelpful. It’s like I called my health insurance. This really turns me off especially since their prices are much higher than other places.

Do yourself a favor and go here if you’re needing some rejuvenation. Every facial I’ve ever gotten from here has been amazing, the spa is so peaceful, and every Sangra room treatment is amazing. Massages can be hit or miss but most are very very good. I love it here and come regularly when I want to bliss out.

This is such a beautiful, peaceful place. I love dropping in for some time in the sauna and the foot baths are my favorite service. I've also used their massage services. Sometimes you'll get stuck near other guests who are noisy and ruin the serenity of the experience, but it doesn't happen too often.

Nothing is more instantly relaxing than walking into the The Dragontree Holistic Day Spa. Just open the door and you are transported to a peaceful haven where the only thing that matters is you. How do they do this? I don’t know. I just know I love that feeling and the pampered experience that follows.

I had a pretty decent massage here a while ago. It was decent. Facilities are clean and they have all the New Age music and a world of ricketaracketa (sp?) that set the vibe. Also you can go for a walk in the woods nearby what’s not to like about that?

This was my second experience this year and it was amazing, again! I'm hooked. It was such a relaxing experience. I went in with a lot of stress and worries, but left restored and pampered. Thank you so much Hannah and Jan’ee. You truly have a gift.

We visit spas on every vacation and this was a favorite. My Husband and I each did the DragonTree package and it was great. I loved our foot baths and Rob did a perfect massage. The environment is relaxing with many guest amenities.

Molly gave one of the best massages I've ever had. I was pain free in my back and hip for days. I've already rebooked an appt with her. Also the muscle melt sample pack products were amazing to use at home for pain.

Brent and Rob were both fantastic for our couple's massage. Brent understood my guidance at the start and read my cues and really helped with my trouble spots. My wife raved about Rob and wants to go back soon.

There products are ok and smell good. But the kind of cbd they use is very week. Customer service is beyond terrible . And website double charges you. Watch out. My wife and I had a nightmare with these people.
