"Terrible service"
I never leave bad reviews but this place really needs one. I booked an afternoon tea for four of us. My friends were from Greece and I wanted them to experience a proper English afternoon tea. I picked the wrong place. We were sat in the bar area even though we had a child with us, the atmosphere wasn’t great in there, there was a huge tv on and it felt like we were sat in a pub not a restaurant. It took almost an hour for our tea to arrive, no explanation was given about what was on the trays (which were wonky and unstable) so we had to just guess what was what. We never saw a menu. The only choice of drinks we were given were standard tea or coffee, very basic. The sandwhiches were dry and the bread tasted stale, the scones had clearly been frozen and were so dry the just crumbled when you cut them. Not worth the £25 each. I was so embarrassed to have taken my friends in here. This used to be the place to go. Not anymore. The toilets were dirty and the seats were broken. The only positive was the staff were friendly and polite but they seemed untrained for their roles, this isn’t their fault though. There was an older lady on the bar who was really lovely and helpful. In conclusion, please don’t waste your time or money on this this dated place. There are much better options available in Liverpool. I wish I’d picked one of them instead.

Really lovely food. We had a Groupon voucher so it was really good value. Nice restaurant and great waiters. Only slight snag was the salsa lesson going on in the bar area, and as there's no separation wall it ended up being a bit noisy.....would have preferred not to have had to sit through that, I was not aware when booking that it would be on otherwise I would have booked for a different time so we could have had a quieter meal. Possibly people should be made aware of things like this when booking. Other than that great, but if I was to come again it would have to be when there's no salsa lessons!!!
Food was delicious, the staff were wonderful and attentive, but the evening was ruined when at 20:15 loud music started thumping out and a dance class commenced, which gets progressively louder. Forewarning to avoid on a Monday would have been greatly appreciated. I would return but I will call in advance to make sure no god awful dance classes are taking place that day, and certainly never on a Monday again. I was tempted to take this down to one star the dance class is so loud I can't even hear my dinner companions, but that would be unfair on the serving staff and the food quality.
Had a Groupon voucher for 2 courses for 2 people so visited on a Bank holiday Sunday to eat. Food was delicious & can't fault the service. Only issue is we still spent a fair bit as pretty much everything on the menu had a supplement charge when using the voucher & we ordered steaks and had to pay extra for chips to go with them!! Groupon voucher seems like a nice gift but be warned you will still end up paying for most of your food.
Terrible service. 20 min to take our drinks order - we had to approach staff then another 25 before we received it - again had to chase staff for this.45min for a pint and a gin and tonic (gig sprite not tonic). Staff seating and serving other tables after we came in - other tables also left waiting. And then to top it off the bill came with a 12.5% service charge.what a joke.would not recommend to anyone.
The remarkable atmosphere of the restaurant made my dinner pretty pleasant. I ordered a medium steak. It came out perfectly cooked and melt in my mouth. Attentive and friendly stuff performed an excellent service. The restaurant is situated near the hotel bar so I was listening a live singer while eating. The experience was really good! This restaurant is worth to visit!
We went for afternoon tea but it was a huge letdown. When we got there, the Liverpool game was on and it was very loud. We sat down in our booth and the tea cups all had lipstick on the rim even though they were supposed to be "clean." We ended up leaving and not having tea, what an embarrassing excuse for tea.
Impossible to book in on bookatable at a time when they do afternoon tea. Was given a voucher as a birthday gift but unable to use it as its about to expire because its so hard to book. Nobody calls back or emails. Customer service is dreadful.
My first visit to this restaurant was excellent from start to finish, unfortunately my second visit was not... we arrived half an hour early for booking and as it was empty apart from two tables I asked could we be seated early only to be
Was treated to afternoon tea for a friends 60th birthday and have never been so disappointed no atmosphere, cramped on small table and food average. Would not go again and would not recommend. Can get much better for the price
Had pizza and never tasted such a dry and awful pizza before even supermarket basic pizzas are nicer! Was very disappointed as wanted my family and I to have a nice meal! The chips were nice
After 3 breakfast and one dinner I would suggest not to eat at the Exchange. The breakfast was decent but the dinner offering was quite bad. My pasta dish was over-cooked and tasteless.
Very nice restaurant within the Hilton Hotel Liverpool. Good food and decent entertainment too. Drinks are expensive but then they always are in these places so no surprises really...!
Food was nice and staffs were friendly but the place and vibe was a let down.. tiny and quiet restaurant.

Modern and minimalist restaurant within the Liverpool Hilton. Good choice for breakfast but not so much for the evening meal. The choice was various spicy food or salad.
Beautifully cooked Sea bass on a bed of mashed potatoes. 2 course meal was just enough. Thoroughly enjoyed the dining experience
We had a fabulous afternoon/early evening enjoyed our selves immensely staff couldn't be faulted would definitely recommend it x
The food was OK, but the staff were "too busy" to make a cocktail for my fiancée on her birthday meal
Called to ask about a nut allergy and got hung up on
