"Lovely traditional pub"
"A veritable Didsbury institution these days, and always lively (in a good way) whatever the day of the week"
"Called in today, after waiting 10 mins for service"
"I recently started work here and I love it"
"Treated awfully by the staff because a small round table with three legs isn’t fit for purpose, The moment I leaned on the table it immediately tipped over spilling the drinks to the floor that I’d just paid around 8 pounds for , when I made the complaint to the bar staff they were unsympathetic and didn’t want to know or replace the drinks that was spilt all over the floor , They immediately removed the round table with three legs to an area out of the way of the patrons leading me to think that this wasn’t the first time that it had happened , needless to say I left and went somewhere that was more friendly, terrible staff "
Lovely traditional pub. Really great decor. Beer isn't always kept in the best way from the bar tenders own omission. I bought a pint of the bone checker and it tasted like vinegar. Bought it back to the bar and barman said - 'does it taste like vinegar? Yes, this happens at the end of the barrel'. Can be full of awful students on the weekend in fancy dress doing the didsbury dozen. I was sat quietly in the snug when a large group came in disturbing the other customers peace and took over the space demanding TVs be turned on and curtains closed without any consultation with other customers. Upset managers do not help with the enjoyment of this place. Sometimes you're not going to get completely positive reviews unless you change what's going on in your pub.

A veritable Didsbury institution these days, and always lively (in a good way) whatever the day of the week. Good points - massive beer garden, with heaters for winter as well. Pretty well covered too, in case it rains. Separate rooms without TVs if you don't want to watch the football/whatever else, but plenty of space round back with big screens if you do. Good selection of beer from the brewer (Hydes) along with larger, cider etc. Service at the bar is quick, so you don't tend to need to wait around too much. It's never empty - always a decent crowd. Doesn't do food, for those who want that. But it's nice to have a pub that's just a pub, not a 'gastropub' etc. Basically, just a good, well run pub.
Called in today, after waiting 10 mins for service. Manager wasn’t willing to take order said waitress would be over. Waitress decided to serve people closest to the main doorway first and already had drinks on the table. Other people arrived and she decided to serve them before us, who had been seated for 15 mins by then. Would I recommend .. Definitely Not. They obviously don’t want new people to visit just their regulars .. after being closed for a long time thought any customers would be made welcome .. but not at this pub. We won’t be visiting again for a very long time. We went elsewhere and they were happy to serve us unlike at this venue.
I recently started work here and I love it. The regular customers hve been extremely welcoming and I feel at home there. I am surprised at how well priced drinks are range of lgers, bitters and regularly changing guest ales is great. The pub puts service first with a centrally situated bar of approximately 20m of service space. The staff are efficient and friendly. The pub was refurbished in 2018 and as well as the leather clad snug at the front and the more open area for sports enthusiasts at the back with multiple screens, there is also an expansive beer garden at the back that puts other pubs to shame. A real gem in Didsbury village.
Treated awfully by the staff because a small round table with three legs isn’t fit for purpose, The moment I leaned on the table it immediately tipped over spilling the drinks to the floor that I’d just paid around 8 pounds for , when I made the complaint to the bar staff they were unsympathetic and didn’t want to know or replace the drinks that was spilt all over the floor , They immediately removed the round table with three legs to an area out of the way of the patrons leading me to think that this wasn’t the first time that it had happened , needless to say I left and went somewhere that was more friendly, terrible staff .
Recently moved to the area a few months ago, and the staff here made me feel like a local (as soon as they were able to!). Can't fault anything about this place; staff are lovely and can't do enough for you, and they keep the place wonderfully tidy. Given the size of the beer garden, it's no wonder there might be a wait on a drink sometimes (especially given the current restrictions on bar service), but that's okay with me! If I didn't want to wait for a measly few minutes for table service in a packed beer garden in the beaming sunshine in the middle of summer, I would simply stay at home or move to Benidorm.
Beer good. Plenty of space, including outside. Very clean. No butties yet AFAICT. Prices not unreasonable for Didsbury. Update Busier now. Larger and good selection of real ale, but butties not resumed. Further update 8/22 Even larger selection of real ale ( in good condition), but alas still no butties. Much busier, but plenty of room outside. Oddly two door management staff on early Sunday evening? Prices still keen for Didsbury.
Great Hydes pub. First visit back in the 70' when it was a basic back street local. (Hope Inn? ...Paulicarus says Albert Inn!) Hard to believe Didsbury took so long to become trendy. Totally refurbished in 1998. Big extension plus beer garden. Great sun trap. Worth heading off the main road. 90 seconds walk. Beer always in good condition. Full range of Hydes beers. Paulicarus had a Ralf and Alf in his favourite front room.
Easily the best pub in Didsbury. We don't live in Didsbury but whenever we visit, we always call in for refreshments. Lovely clean and comfortable interior and very large (recently refurbished) beer garden along with heaters that actually work. Service is excellent together with very competitive prices. It just shows what excellent management can bring to a pub. Why can't all pubs be like this ?
We visited the Fletcher Moss during a weekend away in Manchester. We had a very nice couple of hours just having a few drinks and watching football. As we weren't sure of directions we asked the landlord for directions to the nearest tram stop.He took us out of the pub and down the road to show us exactly where the tram stop was.he wasso nice, and very helpful
A pub with a good smoking area. An outside decking area. Wifi and good beer. This pretty much sums up the Fletcher Moss. The staff are always friendly and it my favourite pub in Didsbury. I have had good times and memories in this pub. They also have a pie oven on the bar. Look out for Uncle Henry in the Gents. Apparently, the ladies toilets are palatial...
Wish I could give this place more stars. Hands down the best pub in didsbury. The staff are lovely and they always have a smile on their faces. Great atmosphere every time we come. Great pub in the winter when they have the fires on and also the best pub in the summer when we can sit out in the fab beer garden. Absolutely love this place!
Very well organised for covid someone meets and greets you and gives you the information you need. One way system in and out and there is a big beer garden that has a nice covered area with heaters. Large selection of drinks available. Beer garden closes earlier than the bar but they explain all that when you arrive
A friendly well run drinking pub for adults. No "yummy mummies" kids or buggies clogging the place up. Always a good mix of clientele, cosy rooms, large outdoor area. Only "spoiled" by TV sport - but this is a + for my hubby of course...! Having said that, the sports fans are good natured. …
Love this pub, great food and drink with excellent customer service. Outside area is pretty smart too. Big umbrellas, comfy benches and heaters so you can sit out whatever the weather. They have bands, they beer garden is all weather's and perfect. Still the best pub in Didsbury
Thoroughly enjoyed my night out being able to sit outside under a large gazebo with heaters. Lovely atmosphere with plenty of distancing. Staff fantastic especially Chris and Martin but miss table service, as a female it was easier to order rather than standing at the bar.
The best pub in the whole of Didsbury without a doubt. Still retains some of the old traditional features, but has been brought right into the 21st century. Fantastic outside area and of course superb beer. The Lowry is Spectaular. Managment ans staff should be proud.
Never felt more uncomfortable or insulted in my entire life. Myself and group of all female friends were told to keep the noise down at 6pm and then subsequently kicked out and insulted. The staff got personal and were sexist and very rude. Will never attend again.
Great pub for the community. A Hydes house it sells their cask ales plus some guest beers. Originally the Albert, this was renamed some years ago when the rear extension was done too. Large external beer garden at rear which is good in better weather. Recommended.
Early days yet as the present people have only recently vacated the nearby Four-in-Hand, now called The Greenfinch. However I have every confidence that the same attention paid to their previous venue shall also apply here-to the customers advantage. 2012.
I would have to say this is the best public house in Didsbury, smiley bar staff, strong selection of neck oils, including Beavertown Neck Oil, clean restrooms and the best part, a sweet, sweet vibe. Martin the LL is a very canny chap to boot. 10/10.
Visited on ‘tier 3 eve’ and it was extremely busy, the staff were rushed off their feet with the table service but did so well to get round to everyone and remained really polite and lovely despite, so thank you- hopefully will be open again soon!
Great beer, friendly staff and excellent hosts Martin & Chris! We love most days sitting in the beer garden at the back which is spacious and has adequate shelters with heating!! Really appreciate the security (Gio) who makes sure we are safe.
This is hands down the best pub in Didsbury, as a young adult I visit this pub most weekends and have never failed to feel welcome , the staff are so accommodating and friendly , have recommended this pub to people far and wide . Love it
Just love this place. One of our favourite places to go for a relaxed drink, especially if you get a sunny day. Friendly crowd, good selection of beers and wines. If you haven't been then give it a try. You don't be dissapointed.
This pub is quite big with huge seating area in the back (do feel sorry for the neighbours) beer decent price and quality has a lot of selection on different drinks This is one of the original Didsbury pubs so worth going
Staff attitude v poor. Obvs led from top cos first drinks ordered from landlord. No hello/hi/ what can I get you just a yes ? Further interactions with rest of staff just the same. Disinterested and rude. Toilets filthy
The perfect place to have a pint of good beer after a busy day. Friendly staff. Lots of open minded people. Easy to get into interesting coversations with true Mancunians and other lads. We strongly recommend this pub.
I preferred this place when it was The Albert. Like all of Manchester and especially Didsbury, it's become trendified and is trying to be something that it's not. Still, the beer is good, I'll give them that.
Stopped by for a couple of pints in the first week of pubs opening. They were very busy but managed to find us a table quickly, fab beer garden and they managed to provide good service despite being so busy.
Lovely place for either a few quiet drinks in the day or a night out. Lots of seating indoors and out with a sheltered smoking area with heaters so even if we joined the smokers in the group it wasn't cold.
Lovely pub! Good atmosphere and very busy. Lots of seats inside and a massive bar with plenty of staff to serve. Lots of seating towards the back of the pub with covered places to sit too if it's raining.
Great beers and prompt service from pleasant bar staff. Beer garden was nicely designed despite being in a built up area, they've made the best of it and even managed to squeeze in a covered bit as well.
Great pub in the heart of Didsbury. Cheap beers, good vibe showing sports on the TV. Big outside area which is awesome during summer time. Bar staff great as well

Lovely, traditional pub just off the main drag in Didsbury. Good selection of real ale and bar snacks, including homemade sandwiches. Spacious beer garden to the rear. Friendly staff and good service.
This is a great pub busy most of the time especially when football is on. Nice outdoor area, good beer and efficient friendly staff. If you want a quiet drink go around lunchtime between 1 and 3.

Somewhere you don't mind paying Didsbury prices at. Great atmosphere, decor, and staff are so lovely. They've got a fantastic beer garden, dog friendly! Will be coming back again soon!
What a gem of a back street pub really lovely interior from the rooms to the snugs. The room I sat in had a couple of door bells at the top of the seats. Truly well worth a visit
Great pub down the backstreets of didsbury village. Good range of beer. Loads of seating especially on nice weather days and you can sit out the back in the big beer garden.
A beautiful period end terrace public house with a surprisingly large outdoor garden area. An excellent choice of beers, ales and wines with a friendly, attentive staff.
Nice place. Good prices. Bar staff struggle with serving drinks on a first come first serve basis and pouring Guinness correctly.

Currently under refurbishment, front room not available whilst fixtures and fittings updated. Good choice of beers including Hyde's original. Busy village pub!
A good traditional pub, ideal for catching up with friends and there are TVs for sport. The ale selection is decent though not massive. Not really a food pub.
My favourite Didsbury Village pub. Plenty of bar staff to get served quickly, great choice of ales, plenty of seating AND Kettles crisps! What’s not to like?!
Great place - surprisingly spacious out the back (covered seating as well as completely open). Good range of Beers with some quirky ones as the common brands.
First pub I have been in since Covid where you are required to go to thebar, and only one member of staff serving. Beer was not as cold as it could have been
Fantastic boozer. Plenty of quality craft ales. Host of great largers. More variety than you could shake a stick at. …
Classic "old man" pub with a big outdoor space which is great on a summer Saturday. Very reasonably priced with friendly staff. Definitely worth a visit.
Outstanding public house. Friendly service, relaxed atmosphere & a large well designed garden space. By far the best pub in Didsbury. Highly recommend.
lovely pub, very busy with lots of places to sit out in the garden. Dance floor and has live music some weekends. Need to he in early to get a seat.
Had a baby guiness shot and the baileys was curdled, told staff who weren’t interested and didn’t offer a refund or a replacement drink. Disgusted.
top service. really good hosts- especially Chris and Martin. Chris has always gone the etra mile, really friendly service top geeza would recommend
Excellent beer and excellent service, one of a few places to adapt to the new normal, all staff are bang on there game , effectively run very well

I haven't been in this pub in years .It looks great and you can't fault the staff or the beer. I enjoyed my night .Definitely worth a visit .
A good old local pub and one where you can hide from the many TV's playing nothing but football! Not everyone in Manchester is football mad!
Fantastic pub with a nicely laid out beer garden. The beers were nice and the service was great.

What a busy pub . The beer garden is beautiful. Even tho the pub was very busy it didn't take long to be served . Staff are wonderful
Lovely real ale pub. Been going there years and the beer is kept well. Deceptively large but with lots of cosy bits. Not a food pub.
Great pub. Plenty of outdoor seating , covered and heated with easy wheelchair access. 100m from tram stop. Sports available too.

Nice pub in the centre of Didsbury Village. Very organised inside quick service staff very friendly and helpful good service.
Friendly staff good service, however, it can get a little overcrowded. Having said that, most pubs get overcrowded at times.

Lovely hostelry. Good selection of beer and ciders. Very busy place a d finding a seat can be a problem at weekends.
Wonderful "real" pub. Only been using it for 40 years so can't really pass an opinion but gets better with age. Xxx

Great beer garden and drinks prices. Pub itself is a bit dated but good overall and a regular haunt of ours
Good traditional pub and friendly staff. Beer selection rotates and always something worth trying on tap.
Fab pub, no food, which is great, as just a traditional pub. Good outside area, reasonably priced drinks
