If you get Autumn for your server I am genuinely sorry for you. I had come into The Garage with a few friends to hang out and have some drinks. From the jump this girl seemed to have an issue with us as in her demeanor was disgusting. She took my drink order and than than blatantly stared at me for a solid min before taking my friends order than did the same to her, it was awkward and uncomfortable. She did not come back to our table the entire time to check on us once. My friends and I are servers and we deal with people everyday and we know how hard it is. We were going to take care of the tip even though she only checked on us once, that is until she sneered at us from across the bar and whispered something to her friend we were so shocked, that we decided to leave a note on the receipt just to let the girl know how she was coming off. All the note said was “ nasty attitude “ she than chased us out side with the receipt and than YELLED at us. We couldn’t make out what she said as the music was loud and we were a few feet away. This is honestly the most disgusting customer service experience I have ever had. I have never left a review on restaurant I have been too but anyone who goes here should know about this.I do hope management sees this and acknowledges who is representing them.

My wife and I were in the area and hungry for a late lunch and happy hour drinks. This place doesn’t open until the afternoon so we were the first and only people there, which was fine with us. My wife liked her sangria and my Bloody Mary was delicious! My wife really enjoyed her cheese steak and the chicken sandwich I had was better than anywhere I’ve been in a while. Because we sat at the bar, the bartender served us. She recommended this to die for chocolate cake that we ended up sharing. Overall, this place exceeded our expectations in service and food and drink quality. The only reason they didn’t get five stars is because they need better happy hour specials. I would recommend this place to my friends and family. We’ll be back!

I came here with my fiance for dinner and a drink after a very hard day of losing my puppy and right off the waitress was awkward. Took a while to get ours drinks which was a beer and a Crown apple with Sprite. The food we ordered wasn't bad but the waitress disappeared and we had other people asking if we needed anything. I decided not to tip the waitress since she was nowhere to be found and crossed out the tip part on the check. I checked my card the next day and seems as though she put her own tip on the bill. Total bill was $29.56 and I was charged $35.47. I will not be going here again since the people who work here thinks it's okay to steal money from customers.

Stopped by on a Sunday night, not too busy but not dead either. Blake, our server, approached our table not very long after we found a spot to sit. After asking, he recommend a yummy tasting drink that I'd consider getting again. For food I ordered a veggie quesadilla but asked him if they could make it without cheese. He assured me that their cook was talented in the kitchen and could likely do that while still keeping it tasty. Blake was right! It was super good and came with a side of chips! Overall, drinks and food were really good plus our server was friendly, helpful, and attentive.

Had our dog with us and enjoyed a Cuban sandwich. The Cuban was great and the service from the bar was perfect. Phil made sure we were cared for and some extra love for our pup. He was awesome, and we loved the setup outside to allow enough space for our dog to lay comfortably. Our dog is a full-size American Pit, reference for size. We will definitely come back!

I have visited the Garage a few times. I have not eaten there what I do like about the Garage is that they have a variety of areas to have a drink in. The outside seating along the street is nice, they have cornhole and giant Jenga. Inside they have an open are bar area and a climate controlled area. Craft beers are available many of them local. Definitely, a nice place in Riverside to grab a beer and do some local bar hopping as a few other local bars are right across the street. The place has a decent vibe. The line at the bathroom can get lengthy during peak times.

We were there for a special event. It took place outside and was a blast. Good music performed from the back of an old pickup truck. Bar set up was huge and effective. The cost of non alcoholic drinks for the designated drivers was way too high. 2.75 for a can of Coke would have been high but when the poured it into a 7 ounce glass full of ice they went from expensive to stupidity high. Other drinks were not too over priced considering the special event. Will visit again sometime but try the indoor location

I will a local until I moved to Orange Park. Nevertheless I always find an excuse to grab a bite and a drink when I'm in the area. Love the music, it's always a song you know and never obtrisive. The food is fantastic, I recommend the Funky Chicken, a grilled cheese with seasoned chiken and their famous garage sauce. Spent many nights hanging with friends and even quiet afternoons out of the house just to have a place to haunt. As it's said locals run into locals and it's always friendly

Fast Service... Rude Staff. We bought our drinks then some bartender threw them away while we were not looking. They claimed it was after 2am. But other customers still had drinks because one person offered me a shot because they seen how I was treated. Next thing I know a guy bartender came outside and told me I wasn't allowed to have the drink. While I was trying to finish it he ripped the shot from my hand causing it to break on the floor. Then he attempted to put me in a headlock.

I used to love coming here for late night food and drinks. Tonight the bartenders were clearly trying to close up as early as possible. Im a server myself, so i understand pre closing.. but when customers come in at 1130 you serve them. We were refused service and told we couldn't use the one available restroom when the other was closed down. We wanted to stay for food and drinks but the wait staff was so rude we left and went to kickbacks down the street

This is my second time coming here, the first time was very pleasant. This time we sat and the server kept walking by without greeting us we made eye contact twice. We even went into the bar to ask for a server. No one ever came. So we left. The guy server with the blonde hair, ALMOST said hello when he saw us walking out but seemed to have changed his mind. Polar opposite experiences. Not sure we will chance this happening again.

Went out late night for food and drinks. Drinks were a bit sweet but that's okay. The food tasted good tho it left a couple of us feeling a little queasy the next day, even us who didn't drink alcohol. The atmosphere got better towards the end of the night, but some really gross people come there so beware. I'd give it another shot sometime!

Staff here was very rude. When we were approaching the door the girl inside literally got up ran to the door and locked it on a Saturday night. Seems like a bad business plan to lock out customers on the busiest night of the week. Especially when every other bar had lines out the door. But apparently some businesses don't care about money. And not to mention customer service. I would definitely not recommend this place.

Stop changing things that are already perfect. The garage sauce used to be bangin. Now it's garbage. My garage Philly cheese steak used to be the best thing ever, now it's trash and my sandwich looks like it was made with 2 different types of bread. The mashed potatoes feels like it's made like the potato salad. Very hard and clumpy. Yall used to be very good the first time I tried yall. Now im just wasting

I am so happy our Uber was sketch and dropped us off outside The Garage. We were looking for a cool casual pub to hang at and this place delivered! Awesome spot, outdoor area was choice. Travis Harden music was live and rocked! Atmosphere, prices, patrons, music, and staff were all top notch. We were in Jax from out of town but this would definitely be my place if I were local. 5 stars cause 10 isn't an option.

Was just denied service to my husband for no understandable reason. The bartender told me that he would serve myself but not my husband. Neither of us were drunk or belligerent, it was the second beer of the night. I cannot understand other than he was the only "brown" guy in sight. Jacksonville has been a warm and welcoming community to us at each place we have visited until this establishment.

Dinner with the wife turned into Lays potato chips, a small plastic cup of "dip", grilled cheese sandwich with no character or flavor also with more.... Lays potato chips, wife ordered an IPA, was recommended and served a Lager, because those are the same. The wife's salad wasn't bad, but that's not that hard to mess up. For the location and the competition in Riverside, not worth the look.

Love this place! They have a great outside seating area and usually a good musical performer of some kind. The bartenders are friendly and never scoff when I ask them to make a complicated drink. The prices of drinks aren't super cheap but doable and the atmosphere is eclectic. If you want to play games you can enjoy life size Jenga or a round of corn hole. Overall a cool place!

It was a Tuesday so it was slow, but that gave me all the more reason to get better service. Drinks are overpriced but the names of the food on the menu was very interesting and quite enticing, didn't get to order food because of customer service. Looked like they cater to more of the regulars to make sure they get their money and tips secured. They don't serve cognac here.

Good simple bar food and a great indoor/outdoor vibe.

This was enjoyable . I have been to many bars all over the world while serving in the U.S. Marine Corps , and I honestly think that this is one of the top three bars I have been to . I listened to a live musician while good servers had taken care of me with beer and nachos . I suggest that you see for yourself to know that I am not exaggerating .

Got two baby Guinness shooters. First spot I've found that has Cafe Patron to make them with. The inside bar is a very moody spot to get a drink with low lighting and a long counter. Seems someone's drink is always left in the bathroom. The games outside draw a crowd too. I didn't see the ring toss game out though. Another fun time.

This is one of the larger bars of the King Street District. They have live music on the patio sometimes. The drinks are ok and the service is good. The food is pretty good. The garage sauce and ruffles is a signature Riverside appetizer at this point. I usually have to sit outside if I want to hear the person I'm with.

Cool motif. One of 4 bars in the immediate area owned by the same people. All of their bars rock! This bar has a cool front part that is opened up like bars in tropical countries. The back part is air conditioned and literally cool! Good place to go and they have Guinness on tap if you value that as much as i do.

Great tasting food, decent service, good drinks, fun games, etc. Outdoor seating is nice. Bit on the expensive side. Loud when crowded and late night crowd is pretty rowdy. Always a wait for service, food or bill. Had good and bad experiences. Recommend the red velvet cupcakes. Overall decent place.

The Garage exists. If you have no other destination planned or need an after dinner drink near King St, their outdoor seating area is generous. Their drinks are traditionally strong. You could go there. It exists.

One of my all time favorites in Riverside! Cool vibes, you can always just be yourself. Usually live music (pre-covid) . Indoor and outdoor seating. Great bartenders and staff. Jukebox , so you can play whatever you want to hear. And the garage sliders and garage sauce are so yummy, a must have!

A great place to go if you enjoy eating outside. The food was good and reasonably priced. Alcoholic beverages were delicious and reasonably priced as well. Has the vibe of a hole-in-the-wall place, and is relatively small, but still offers good service and food. I'll definitely be returning.

Garage is a great place to start or end your night in the area (plus they have the best parking) - it's a chill vibe with two sides and an outside bar as well. We use it as a jumping off point to go dancing and are never upset with our experience there. We havent tried the food so YMMV.

Wanna have fun and still socially distance? Have a hankerin' for some live music? This is the place! Great atmosphere, lots of outdoor seats. You are at the center of fun-ness where there is plenty to do, so you can't go wrong. Show up, have a drink, chillax and decide for yourself!

Great atmosphere and patio! You'd think a bar would gave alright food, but the menu here is amazing! Cheesesteak, quesadilla, burgers, sliders. You name it, it's good. Only downside is no fries at this time, only chips... but add in the garage sauce and it's completely forgotten.

Fun place to be with all the backyard games you can play. Food was not so hot. Drinks seemed to be satisfying everyone. Loud music and cool atmosphere. Every table was wobbly. I checked the whole Bar section sugar packets and napkins couldn't fix their problems.

Great bar and even better food. Come here for the drinks and stay a bit longer to eat! This is a (not so hidden) gem in Jacksonville and if you're looking for something to do late at night, or just someplace good for lunch, this place is good for either.

Its ok for a chill bar feel. Okay priced drinks with some outside entertainment in the form of cornhole and jenga. I have gone there on a few occasions during the weekend but don't stay long because its really packed and not enjoyable at that point.

A nice spot for a drink with friends. Smoking in the front bar, and non-smoking in the back. The decor fits the theme, walking in feels like your on an episode of Pickers. Nice outdoor seating, and Giant Jenga on the side. Great staff as well!

The Garage is very chill, very modern but bringing back the 90s. We came in the back area where the bar bar area is and being the first of many people it was really good experience. Food is phenomenal, drinks on point. I highly recommend.

This place was recommened from another bartender...it apparently goes by different names but it was a decent little place. Typical pool tables and bar area, even a patio! No table service, you have to go to the bar to get your order.

Good food, outstanding prices, and service with only 3 servers for the whole place. If I lived in the area it would be my normal hang out. If you're visiting the area it's perfect for the after concert/late night dinner and drinks.

Great bar food and very cool atmosphere. I frequent this bar a lot with friends. My only complaint is the back bar bartenders can be pretty drunk (the past few times I've gone in) and will forget I'm there or forget my order.

Outside patio is great, also the bar inside is cool because it's an open area but still has cover. They have tv's to watch games, over all feel of the place is really chill. Plus the grilled cheese with pepperoni is amazing

Hip local bar - my favorites are anything with the garage sauce and the phillies which are their own spin on the classic. Popular in weekends. Parking is always fun, but it's Riverside - that's the deal!

We were just walking by and heard some great love music. We sat down for a quick drink and loved it! The guy performing is there every Sunday between 3-7. I recommend checking him out! He was amazing!

Drinks are fine I guess however this is the 3rd time I’ve been here, ordered b4 my friends and got my food as they were 1/2 way into their food. I love Jillian but I will never order food here again.

We spent a couple hours hanging out and listening to the music. No pressure but attentive. We did get nachos that were very tasty and the rest of the menu looked good, more extensive than I expected.

It's a dive bar. The drinks are more alcohol than anything (not a complaint). There is smoking inside. You can pay more to take over the juke box on your phone. The crowd is generally 35+ yrs old.

Bartender was nice and friendly, drink specials but I received the wrong order for food. Maybe the bartender should verify the order b4 placing it. My friends had the same issue 2 days earlier

Great place to chill with friends have a bite and a drink. Jenga outside is a blast. 4 stars only because they used to have Ring Swing but some ginger broke it and they haven't fixed it yet.

The garage has plenty of seating, they have bar games and two bars. The outdoor seating is really cool, sometimes stray cats will come up and let you pet them if you're nice evening enough.

One of the most unique bars I've been to. The atmosphere is very cool, with the decor being old car parts and street signs. The music and drinks were great! Had a very fun time!

we all know this place as the local watering hole but don’t underestimate the food. the garage sauce slaps and the buffalo wrap is amazing.

Friendly staff with quick service and decent prices on drinks. Love the outdoor seating and semi indoor area where they had the heaters.
