This is a great museum! It was built in 1790. It was built by John Pinney, sugar merchant that owned a slave plantation. It was donated to the Bristol Council in 1937. It became a museum the same year, and thus has been a museum for 86 years. More
Thanks so much to our fantastic guide for such a great experience. He was an x history teacher - who was so knowledgeable, interesting and really brought the House to life, in a sensitive, culturally appropriate way. I would encourage you visit.

Staff is absolutely lovely and knowledgeable. Very great experience and fun things to do (Easter activities, you can try different period costumes, play a clavichord, etc). We learned so many things!
An easy to reach museum documenting the life and living of an actual family during the Georgian Era. Interesting displays and period furniture just add to the charm and experience. More
Was very simple but got some information about the slavery system, how the owner get money from. It was good to show the truth and interesting for me to know the history.
Interesting museum to visit. It is basically an old preserved house of a controversial historical figure. Can be finished in 30 minutes or less.
Very nice and free to visit Museum. It won't take long to visit all of it but there are a lot of details to watch and history to discover More
