The tram is the next part of getting up to the Getty Center after the check in at the garage. I was like a kid again, wanting to go for a tram ride! Fortunately, it wasn’t too fast and the incline was hardly noticeable. The state-of-the-art people mover is slow enough to enjoy the views and scenery. Going up and back downhill took about four minutes each way. There’s beautiful landscaping along the way, viewable thru large windows. The famed 405 Freeway is seen below. Massive homes on the adjacent hills of LA’s Bel Air District may come into view across the highway, if not obscured by marine layer fog. Although there’s service roads that surround the gardens, museum and research facility, the tram is the designated way to go for visitors. All visitors check in at the top of the garage structure with their printed reservation, then are directed to catch the tram, although the staff should be advised of alternate access plans, if so desired. Returning to exit at the garage is as simple as catching the next tram that shows up. Getty staff will direct riders to the departure side, with tram doors opening after arriving passengers step off on the opposite side! The same great views may be seen going back, including the busy 405 Freeway, ideal to preview the pace for motorists, who may headed for traffic. Before exiting the tram, it’s a good idea to make sure all personal items are accounted for!

It's a small tram which can accommodate around 100 visitors at a time from Getty Parking to The Getty showcasing arts, sculptures, monuments and music. It's free of cost. There are two trams running in the opposite directions to and from Parking to The Getty. The tram takes about 4.02 minutes in both the directions in a very scenic way both sides of the track. Lovely experience.

Very well organized. I appreciate the quick tram ride rather than walking a guesstimated 20 minutes to the museum. It was very well organized with social distancing outside waiting for tram (June 27), required mask wearing on tram and inside museum, but not outside. Tram ride free but must show tickets to museum at gate to get on tram.

My nieces are visiting from out of town and wanted to visit. The parking lot was congested so had to go to level 5 but near elevators. Check in and security were quick and didn't have to wait to long for tram. The Getty has great views and you could spend a whole day exploring it!

Three car cable pull tram that you use to travel between the Getty parking garage and the Centre up on the hilltop nearby. This was a fun and original way to approach the Getty.

I love this approach of brining people to the museum, it makes sense on all accounts, and is truly the best method they could have employed to get the job done. Very pleased.

Tram taking you from parking to the Getty galleries and park. It is a unique experience with freeway and Los Angeles heights.

Really nice personell, we came with a large group and they accomodated us so that we could all ride the tram together.
