"The Goddard school isn’t a daycare in the traditional sense"
"We've had two children enrolled at Goddard of SA for about a year and half, and I can say this is the BEST experience we've had with a school"
The teachers in the classrooms are the only thing positive here. They really try their best with the kids with their provided tools. The teachers do lots of activities with the babies and willfully exhaust themselves caring for the babies. Sadly the teachers are not treated as they should be and they’re moved around classrooms as the office feels convenient, which ultimately effects the Littles. Teachers are also put into unsafe situations with the office placing non-walking babies with all walking older toddler classes when they are understaffed. The office and owner are very crafty with their responses when they are questioned about inconsistent practices. It was in our experience that in the initial enrollment interview they advised that we would have the ability to chat and communicate through the Tadpoles App with the teachers directly to check on our baby (which is a big reason why we enrolled since they don’t have cameras) but that was a “miscommunication”, they do not subscribe to the app feature for parents to directly communicate with the teachers and has been verified through email with the app developers. The office and owner will deny any time you catch them lying about something and respond “we never said that” or “you must have misunderstood us.” The office also does not properly document all accidents that take place at the daycare. We found on 3 separate occasions a bite mark and 2 bruises on the forehead. We know these things can happen with young children but it was the response that was unacceptable. Office staff said they would do an accident report but would never follow up. We would have to call or ask when when there was one to remind them and they would respond “I’ll have it ready tomorrow” but not actually ever do it. They also say “you can call us whenever you want,” But in reality they do not want you to. Their responses seem scripted when you call for an update on your child and always give the same responses. Our baby has been napping so much better after we moved to another daycare. The rooms are too small for the enrollment numbers they have inside the rooms under toddler age. Our baby only averaged between 1-1.5 naps with Goddard because of this. Baby is now napping 2-3 hrs at the new daycare. In summary, Goddard has a nice building and play yard and makes every attempt to visually look nice and “take pride in our reviews.” Sadly, their focus seems more about outward appearance rather then the best interest of the children or their teachers.
We enrolled both of our littles in the Goddard School of San Antonio in 2019 and have remained for almost four years. The miniature (pun intended) community the school has fostered has been instrumental to the educational and social-emotional growth of our now three and five-year old girls. An emphasis should be placed on 'School' in the name. This is not a simple childcare facility, it is a school with a robust curriculum that focuses on milestones. As an education professional, I always appreciate the end-of-day reports that delineate the classroom activities and learning themes from the day (also includes fun videos and pictures). It makes me feel like I didn't miss anything and we can continue the lessons/play at home. We always felt our kids were safe in their hands. Our youngest entered as an infant and as working parents sometimes feel, the mommy-daddy guilt was real. However, that all went away when we witnessed how caring and involved the staff are from the owner (Candice) to directors to teachers, even the head chef! We have also made great parent friends through the school! Even as our oldest has graduated to 'big-girl' school, we remain close with the parents and kids from her cohort. All of this speaks to the wonderful community the Goddard School creates for families. It has been a blessing to find a stable, caring and fun place to help nurture our girls.
This school has gone through 5 different directors and has not even been opened for a year In addition children are constantly being placed in different rooms and Are never in the right classroom that is suited best for the child due to limited amount of classrooms being open and being WAY understaffed. Teachers are also not treated fairly and schedules were constantly being changed to suit other teachers preferences which in my opinion is not fair. Also It took 3 Teachers to be POSITIVE for Covid-19 to enforce masks to be worn at all times which should have been mandatory from the start of it all. With this school being brand new you would think it would have been more prepared as well as organized.
The Goddard school isn’t a daycare in the traditional sense. My son attended Goddard since he was three and a half months through 20 months (we would have stayed had we not needed to move). I cannot recommend this school enough, especially receiving the love and care from his teachers and the socializing he got from his classmates. Additionally, I was impressed with how much he learned at school (colors, numbers). Admin is also heavily invested in the safety of children, including smooth transitions from one grade level to the next. The school also makes it a point to include families by hosting different holiday celebrations such as mother’s day.
We've had two children enrolled at Goddard of SA for about a year and half, and I can say this is the BEST experience we've had with a school. We've seen our children excel academically. The teachers are all professional and caring. It's always a nice feeling when you see your children EXCITED to go to school. It's obvious that the owner, director and staff all truly care about children. Also, the school really focuses on developing the children's character, as well as education, and works to understand the unique challenges and gifts of each student to help them grow and learn.
I moved to San Antonio from New York.I enrolled my son Immanuel into this school and boy did I luck out .This School is amazing.Super Clean ,The Faculty is Great and extremely Professional.Any questions I asked they were more than happy to sit down with me and explain everything right down to the minute detail. The Teachers are Fantastic. Especially. Miss Litty .she’s extremely patient with these kindergartners and very professional. Choosing The Goddard school is the best decision I made it I come down here..I rate this school 10 out of 10 Thomas Brady
Best daycare with the best owner and staffs in my living area!!! I been taking my 3 years old son to The Goddard school for almost a year!! My son learned too many things like how to read and write all the alphabets which is I wanted him to be and how to spelling his name. They have a lot of education and activities for the children with their great teachers. All the staffs kind and full of energy to carry of the children. My son and I love Goddard school and I recommend you to take your children to this school.
We started our 2 year old daughter here in January. What can I say? The best child development center we have ever attended. The staff are warm and professional. The facilities are clean and well kept. I cannot say enough great things about this school. If you have young children and are looking for a great place for them to grow this is the place. Small class sizes. Excellent curriculum. Highly highly recommended!!!
Truly the best school for infants and young children in the area. The staff are professional and exemplify such care and compassion for the children they care for. If you are on the fence I would highly recommend calling them to schedule a tour and see all the amazing things they offer. In a world with such uncertainty it is such a rewarding feeling when you can find a safe place to drop your child off at each day.
It hasn’t quite been 6 months but I wanted to share my experience so far… They have exceeded my expectations. My 2 yr old loves it and the entire staff is so kind and welcome. I was so worried putting him in daycare but between the app with the updates of his day and how much they teach him, I am so thankful. Hope this helps someone looking for a good daycare. It’s so hard to leave our little ones..
It’s a beautiful feeling when you walk down the hallways of this school and teachers left and right are saying hello to your child with a smile on their face. It’s always a hard decision to leave your child in someone else’s care but having my son here, I know he is loved and looked after well.
The best!!! I’m driving 1 hour each day to pick up and drop off my child because I can’t find a better place after moving out of the area! It’s the best school my children have ever been in! …
Amazing! I absolutely adore every staff member and the owner.
