We decided to visit this café as we wanted a local restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating. After researching online, we chose to give it a try. We went on a Saturday, mid afternoon for a late lunch; there were a few others there - possibly 3 or 4 seated diners. While there was nothing particularly negative about it, we felt that it lacked ambiance and character. The staff didn't appear to be very cheerful, and the overall experience felt a bit subdued. We opted for Middle Eastern cuisine, which had flavorful dishes but seemed slightly overpriced considering what they were and the location of the cafe. Since we hadn't tried one of the dishes before it wouldn’t be fair to critique it but the other dish, a manoush with eggs and toppings, was definitely on the pricier side ($20+). If we happen to be in the area again, we might consider giving it another chance. However, if someone were to ask us personally if we would recommend it, I'm uncertain if I would say yes.

Gorgeous, kid-friendly location right in the heart of Ryde Park, with plenty of space to run and a playground next door to burn energy in while you wait for food. The food is lovely; they offer tasty (and healthy!) middle eastern cuisine with a lot of flavour, variety and rotating specials. Don't leave without trying a slice of the homemade desserts or the fresh lemonade. Only downside is the cafe itelf is cramped for seating space (i.e. they accommodate a lot of people but the number of tables can make it almost impossible to navigate if you have a pram, unless you sit outside) and you need to remind the waitstaff to be on the lookout for newborns in capsules and keep the hot drink and food orders well away. They are all lovely and I'd make this place a regular meeting point as it's about 20-25 min from both western Sydney suburbs (via M2) and the east.

We landed here on a hot summer’s day not expecting much but wanted the kids to have a bit of a play in the park area. The park is a wonderful find if ever in the area but the cafe is what impressed us most. The food was lovely and had plenty of options for both children and adults. The wagyu beef burger was delicious with middle eastern flavours through it. While we were having lunch, my son accidentally kicked his shoe in to the creek running on the side of the cafe’s outdoor seating area and the owners went above and beyond to get it out of the water for us. Next level customer service!!! We will be back :)

We hosted our baby girl's naming ceremony at The Grounds Keeper Cafe in Ryde and I couldn't be happier with how everything turned out. Our guests had a blast and people are still raving about the food. The food was more than plentiful and the service was 5 Stars! It's the type of place you return to because of the food, but it's the service and the little touches that you will remember (and that make your photos look awesome). Lorraine and her husband were absolutely delightful to deal with as we were planning this special day. While Nala, - the manager on the day - was running around during the whole event making sure everything went smoothly! Will definitely be coming back!

It's not worth it. Very long wait and food isn't even that good. We had to wait more than 45mins to order food. And when I went up to order, a girl said to sit in my table and she would come there. But guess what she didn't come had to wait so much, and tried calling them by signalling, but they kept on ignoring. I should have left cause the food is disappointing as well. Felt like the food was made in rush with no passion. Anyway, I'm never coming back here.

Waiting 30+ minutes for OK food (for the price). Chicken kafta was not seasoned very well, tabouleh was nice, chips were quite salty. Baked eggs was nice, but not worth the wait. Fresh bread was nice. Staff didn't know what they were bringing out when they came to our table. Everyone was more concerned about the table of 10 / party they had rather than the any of the other tables there. Not what I was expecting for the price of the meals ($23+ in Blacktown)

Great for a quick bite with a difference (even with kids in tow). Good, tasty food backed up with nice coffee. Seems to be a local crowd as we observered the waiters knew many of the patrons. Service has a casual, family undertone doing away with the need to be trendy. It located in the middle of Ryde park making it ideal for the little ones. Public toilets are used vs. Using the restaurants. Not an issue but the absence of soap within doesn't make you feel the most hygienic. Resonably priced food. 3 people, 3 mains + coffees = $70.

A leisurely breakfast in a cool, calm bushland setting… no crowds, just perfect My breakfast ( I chose the chili eggs) was amazing! I added bacon and ( FRESH) mushrooms. It was that good I forgot the obligatory photo…. Sorry! Should you find yourself in Blacktown with some time to enjoy a complete rest break, try it out . You will not be disappointed P.S. the coffee is Very good!

The food was sooooo good!! The service however, was a let down. They were not busy but took quite a while for the orders to come out, some of the order was wrong even though it was a simple and straightforward off the menu order. The staff boarded on rude when we went to pay.

Tucked away on this park is a wonderful cafe restaurant that takes Italy’s coffee seriously, gives its food generously and just seems to love being there. We have been there three times now - not from the area - and everyone really wants to make you enjoy your experience. The banquet was good value... but so is everything everything else we tried! The weekends can be crazy packed so book ahead... but if you have an hour or 2 during the week, take your time and enjoy!

Great place for breakfast and lunch especially for those with kids as they can play on the playground. Coffee is not so great though and staff are inattentive to (1) get you seated and (2) take orders. Overall, the ambiance is nice because your have the park as a view wherever you may be seated. I do come here once in a while for the uniquely Middle Eastern touch on the dishes.

I always get the haloumi salad with chicken and it's amazing!! However they need to add more chicken as they are literally two small pieces for $4.50 extra. The cafe is a bit pricey but they won't let you go feeling hungry. I love their selection of food and drink. My favourite drink is the Energiser juice. The location is quite nice and the staff is lovely!

  • Andrew Adams

Strong food and coffee offering matched by the outstanding location. Incredibly well suited for young families. Service was by no means fast, but was friendly, and with large open spaces and playgrounds close by to keep children occupied while the food is coming. A worthy destination for those in nearby suburbs or fans of the original cafe in Ryde.

  • Narelle Lewis

Staff were not very welcoming and seemed disinterested in being there. Food was ok but definitely not worth the $24 each for the pancakes and chilli eggs. Very bland food. Atmosphere was ok though. Overpriced menu!

No allergy friendly options for my daughter. Wouldn't make her something off the lunch menu to cater to allergies. Even when I asked for soy baby chino no chloclate and expressed allergy, it wasn't followed and my daughter had a reaction.

Went here and the Shakshouka and Wagyu burger were delicious. However, the Salmon Special was clearly expired because it tasted off. We come here frequently and love the service and location. The prices are also well worth it. Will definitely return, despite the undercooked meat.

Revisited today after our original visit 3 years ago and the mezze board for two is just as great! Lovely service, nice setting in parkland. Specials board and great menu. Rather than battle trying to park at Westpoint there was plenty of parking a short walk away.

Was having high expectations based on reviews but pretty disappointed. Average coffee. The lamb tagine had maybe 2 pieces of lamb and tasted ordinary. Not value for money at all. Great setting though except noisy kids in the play area. Service was good.

incredible customer service. although a 40min appalling wait time for coffee and food. sophie took care of us and even offered to pay for our table in Apology, I also watched her go out of her way to help a lady with a jug of spilled juice

We just used the Grounds Keeper Cafe, to cater an Education Day for 115. There online order form is so easy to use. The Service from Sam and the team was exceptional. I had to make a last minute alteration to the delivery of our order and

This was an absolute treasure to find. Within the confines of the Blacktown Showgrounds we dined here for brunch and was extremely satisfied with everything. The service was pleasant and the location is also. Indoor and outdoor dining

Great food. Love their specialties; the middle Eastern breakfasts. Great coffee. Either come super early or have a reservation. They were super accomodating even though we didn't have a reservation, and seated us under the warm sun.

@thewholefoodthing: Can get busy bc it is often booked for small birthday parties, baby showers, etc, but the food is consistently good and it's the best for dogs - they get a whole park to play in while you sit at brunch …

  • Janet L

Good food in an awesome Park location. Service is friendly but inconsistent. Ordered a cake that never materialised. Forms of when I left to pay the head waitress hasn't put the order in! Shame overwise great.

Visited here on rainy Sunday, after being at the Ryde location a few times before. We came for a birthday breakfast, the food was sensational and the staff really lovely, lots of authentic and tasty options.
