I personally think it's a class gym, it's whagbyiu make of it that enables it to be good or bad. Too many people go on cardio machines 24/7 and then moan about the weights when they use them once in a year . The only problem is the car park it's dodgy. Pay £1.20 for a hour then you have 10 min to log your registration in the IPad at the gym. If you don't then you get a fine. The good things are simply all the staff are proper nice, reliable and advisable. If you have the confidence to speak to people in the gym you can gain some unreal advise to push your fitness journey to the next level. I love the gym and it's helped my fitness journey because I go there win a positive mindset which too many people don't have and then call it a bad gym? Don't think so, it's your negativity causing it . I would recommend it completely it's great value for money at £13.99 a month and situated easily in the city centre. Need to go to the gym with the mindset of "be the hardest working in the room" and you'll go far. 4/5 for me. Love it
Bad value., overcrowded and messy. If you, like most people get to the gym after work during peak hours, then you are going to find it a struggle to get on any machines/weights. It's always overcrowded and the free weights area is a total mess. No one puts their weights away after they have finished and groups of lads grab as many weights as they can and keep them in their area even though they won't use them for a half hour or more. The only bench press and squat rack machine is always owned by a regular group of people who use it for an hour or more. Worse are the male staff who spend all their time perving on girls around the gym or engrossed on their mobiles instead of cleaning up and keeping order in the gym. This is strictly a gym for those who don't know how to behave properly or use proper gym etiquette. if you are serious about your training, ignore this place as it's low price is deceptive very bad value in terms of equipment availability, cleanliness and gym etiquette.
It's unfortunate that the staff are grossly let down by the poor quality customers who attend this gym. I've been here a few times this past week as my regular branch is undergoing refurbishment and to be honest I'd rather be refunded for a week as this gym is rammed with ignorant teenagers/students who think nothing of loudly hosting 4 way VIDEO calls from the ladies changing rooms, selfishly invading the privacy of every other woman in that space by airing their nudity to all corners of the world without their consent ♀️ I reported this to a staff member who said he couldn't do anything about it but he did show concern. As a newbie here I didn't think it my place to kick up a fuss but I was left feeling utterly violated by the crass behaviour of the stupid and narcissistic young woman in question. I hope this isn't a regular occurrence here but from the shameless way the young woman behaved it probably is ♀️
Recently been renovated and it's looking really nice. Can get busy at around 6pm on weekdays. I have had to wait for machines during busy times. However at the weekend have no issues with this. You are left to it which is good (unless you are seeking more support). Getting into the gym you go up stairs and then have to put a pin into these compact doors that then open. So if you have claustrophobia be aware of this. There isn't free parking which is a shame but they offer a discount if you park in a certain car park. What I love most about this gym is that it is full of very different people. There is always good vibes and people of all fitness level can go to the gym and do whatever they need, without that intimation feeling that I have experienced at other gyms. It's good value and is open 24/7. I think it's worth it for the money for sure.
Quite often has broken or faulty equipment that isn't fixed (or labelled as broken). Examples being rowing machines that are out of battery, barbell rack with broken pins and a cable pull tower with weights are stuck together. I brought the broken cable pull tower to two staff members' attention months ago, they acknowledged it needed fixing but I see no sign or effort to fix things. Cleanliness is an issue as the toilets are often dirty, quite often having empty soap dispensers. It's surprising unlike other Gym Group locations this one doesn't have disinfectant and paper towels throughout the gym floor, so no chance of wiping down a bench after somebody sweat all over it
The best value gym in Leicester. Open 24/7, friendly, helpful staff, personal trainers to help you tailor your workout to your desires, monthly single membership at £13.99 a month! As another local guide has stated, the machines are not regularly maintained (a handful of times I have had to bring in a can of WD-40 to conquer squeaking machines and rusting machinery- prone leg curl machine ). That stated, the cleaning staff do a great job cleaning up after the women who choose to make the toilets less than appealing at times. Cleanliness in the gym area is great. The (PTs) are helpful (and eager to have you as their client!). The managers are friendly too.
The gym is cheap but that’s what you get, trainers are always in their trainer’s room, you never see them in the weight area upstairs. The weight area is a mess, no one puts the discs or weights back, I even got reprimended by a trainer once even tough I was putting everything back but no one else(all men) was. No one uses the mandatory towel either, I find that disturbing. The machines are ok but some other equipment needs more quantity like the bench for bench press, the group class area is very small and unpractical. If you dont need any guidance working out and want to spend as little as possible, this is the place
I would give them no stars if I would couple years ago my phone was stolen from their lockers seemed some thief had chopped my lock off on my locker but they turned a blind eye didn't do anything to help and redirected me to their insurance company who took no responsibility. Stay away from this gym from poor management & staff to small time thieves who they do nothing about. At this rate my phone was better in the trunk of my car and that would of been safer than coming here and having my personal possessions robbed off me which they refused point blank to take any ownership of! KEEP AWAY!
The refurbishment it's great, more space for stretching and work out on the main floor, but still with a lot of space on the changing rooms. Fantastic! However, the toilets needs an improvement, the sink are not working properly as well as the toilet flush. But, in general, the machines and the gym are a great and cheap option for someone who wants to be fit or do some exercise. Also, the classes help a lot to this goal, although it could have more variety of times. One point to have on mind is that it gets too busy between 5 PM to 7 PM.
Fairly good gym, alot of up to date equipment. Downside is being cheap price and located in city centre means everyone is using it. 80% of people in there hog the free weights, you cannot be using 4 to 5 different weights at the same time!! Tried to be friendly with people just sat resting on equipment "hello i know its busy today and your currently resting do you mind whilst you rest if i do a set and when i rest you do your set". This isnt a gym atmosphere you want.
I have recently started training with Sunny Dattani! He is professional, patient, motivating and understanding! His encouragement has given me the confidence and reliance that I needed to start this program as well as make changes to my lifestyle. I am very impressed by Sunny's knowledge around fitness and I like that with every exercise we do he is very informative about each one. I would recommend Sunny to anyone looking for a personal trainer! He is great! :)
An anoing and selective academy. Employees never guide you in any activity. But they call you all the time with certain academy policies. Someone stole my scooter from the outside, I bought another one and I bring it with me inside and they won't allow it. They called my attention for taking my backpack to the gym area, claiming that it was for safety reasons. But it's full of guys lifting weights in the weight area without shoes wearing only socks.
An average gym, definitely not as good as others. The quality and quantity of resistance equipment is poor and most of the time it can't be adjusted (as the machines are broken) meaning the workout position is uncomfortable. The quantity of free weights and benches is also inadequate for the amount of people that visit this gym. Yanga water is only available downstairs and I've noticed that the servings are smaller than other The Gym branches
Very disappointed with the experience. Had to park in Highcross parking supposed to be free but they charged me £2.50 parking even though I punched my parking ticket in the gym machine. This is not my local gym I paid £9.49 to upgrade my membership to use the this gym but my PIN number or app didn’t work. I had to wait long time for someone to let me in and out. Toilet was in very worst condition. I had to spend almost £12 to use this gym
Cheap but Busy Firstly do not trust the app percentages, 37% is roughly equal to 80% of it being packed, especially if you’re doing weights. There’s no incline bench, pendulum or accessory equipment like pads. You are not allowed to bring in your gym bag and if you have a bike you need to leave it outside where there is just a camera. But it is 24/7 and the staff are very friendly.
Small gym but good range of machines upstairs. Free weight training was difficult as nothing was where it should be and majority of equipment was lying around on the floor where it'd been left. Spent a lot of time walking around trying to find things. Didn't see any staff members, and a lot of machines were taken by people resting for 15 mins or more.
Not sure what people's issues are. It's £12.99 a month, what do you expect? I have never not been able to get on the equipment I want, even during peak times. They have recently replaced and updated the machines which are really good. I do agree that the toilets/changing rooms aren't amazingly maintained but that's my only complaint.
An absolute amazing gym to go to, definitely have recommended loads of people here to. The classes are amazing, they all get you working in all the areas you want to work and shed a few pounds. All the staff are lovely and friendly and all so down to earth, so easy to get along with. The best gym by far
I live near this gym and go regular, 3/4 times a week for the past 2 years. It has everything you need to keep a varied weights workout fresh. If your looking to join and go at around 5 to 8 i wouldnt recommend it because its to busy, however if you are planning to go at off peak times its great for the price.
I am highly disappointed with the service. I’ve paid £80 for 6 months (student) I’ve been coming to this gym for 2 months and all of a sudden my code isn’t working My brother and his friend have been coming too and their codes aren’t working either. Very disappointed I hope I get some sort of assistance.
Great place to train. Depending on the time, you have access to pretty much all kit. Best times to go are late in the evening or early morning. Staff are friendly and helpful. Very professional and offer classes which look pretty good. Don't be a dingbat and put your own weights away
As a student the price is unbeatable and the fact it is 24/7 is convenient. Lots of machines for what i do, if your into free-weights theres a decent sized area but its not that big compared to other gyms ive visited, and during day hours it can get very busy/cramped.
Not the best but it does what it needs to. Toilets are always dirty and showers don't have any shelves. The equipment needs modernizing too and worst of all the lockers are tiny and get jammed all the time. Still it has plenty of space, machines and weights I guess.
Really good gym, definitely affordable and has a good atmosphere. The staff seem to be nice and are helpful. It is better than some of the other gyms i've been to in leicester as it has a decent range of equipment to be used. I would reccomend this gym to a friend.
Great gym. As an older person I was worried about being surrounded by younger and slimmer athletes. I needn’t of worried as there lads much older than me so I was able to go about my workout under the radar. All the machines I needed and more
This place is so great. They literally have all the equipments you can find in a gym. They are open 24/7 and it’s 16.99 per month. There is shower in case you wanna bathe after your workout session. I highly recommend this place to anybody
Gym fairly clean with good range of machines. Staff could do more to enforce wearing of masks whilst not training. Counted 37 people circulating without masks in 15 minutes of cardio today. Not massively comforting in the current climate!
Trainers are of no use they never bothered to help any guy in gym and just gives a very quick view of gym to new people and runs away like they got more important things to do .. That is using their phone. They even have trainers who are
One of the better gyms in Leicester. Loads of equipment split over two floors. The membership is affordable and gives more than your average PureGym. The staff could be friendlier. The site has two large locker rooms that, like the main
Good gym for the price, can be busy and you will have to wait for weights most of the time. Other than that it has many machines of high quality. It is friendly for beginners as well as the staff would always be willing to help.
Very good gym with an app that shows how many people are there and also logs how long you stay so you can keep track, all staff are friendly and place is clean and many machines and benches for all ranges of workouts
Good environment and good kit. Always clean and well maintained and damaged kit doesn't stay damaged for long. Can get busy which is the only downfall but it's hardly surprising when everything else is in good order.
Clean gym with lot's of equipment, machines and cables. Clean changing room with lots of locker space. The gym has good air conditioning and all the staff are friendly. Lots of free weights and benches to use.
Excellent as always. Great staff and welcoming atmosphere. This is a great value for money gym with all the equipment you need. The staff are always friendly and helpful making you feel welcome at all times.
Been working out at The Gym Highcross over 12 months , cannot fault the Gym, ideal for my 7am workouts before work. Great team there very friendly, very spacious with enough equipment to have a good workout.
Good value for money. The gym has a nice atmosphere.and good facilities. The staff are not so helpful other than that the equipment is pretty new. overall is a reasonable gym and good value for money
Very old equipment with no proper hygiene maintenance. Most of the equipment is rusty. Qr code at the gates won't work and nobody cares. Puregym is better in all the aspects. Not worth the price.
My experience at the gym and been bless and calm staff are great and helpful can come get my workout done and get out nice and simple plus getting discount as I work next door is even better lol
Been coming to The Gym Highcross. Best gym in Leicester. For the price unbeatable. All equipment you will need. Plus able to try and time when it is less busy via the app which is useful too

Convenient location. Lots of facilities and equipment but not as much as others so it's cheaper slightly. All the people and staff are friendly.
You get what you pay for. Staff are friendly and helpful. Great gym, great equipment, great experience. Would definitely recommend to a friend.
I was needing to get a little bit extra cardio in, this place was ideal - cheap & cheerful, friendly staff, generally clean - can't complain.
Showers on a short timer, overcrowded with long waiting times, horrible sweat smell constantly because of lack of windows. Don't recommend
Great gym and classes. Loads of equipment. Many PTs to help and support. Big shout out to my PT Sunny. Has been a super inspiration
Very affordable gym, 24 hours open, the staffs are also friendly but still need few more equipment’s. But overall very nice gym
Great gym, great staff, in a convenient location! Pricing is good too, definitely recommend has all the equipment I need!
One of the best gyms I’ve ever been. Very spacious, all gym equipments are in good condition and working. Friendly staff.
Old and dirty equipment, annoying people slamming weights and broccoli heads hogging benches, other branches much better
Sam is a great PT if you are looking for one. The gym is well equipped and spacious. Can’t complain and so near to me :)
